Need a case - G Pad 10.1 Accessories

I just ordered a G pad 10.1 and need a case what is everyone using? I ride the train back and forth to work everyday so I want something reasonably light weight but able to take a small amount of reasonable abuse.

I decided to try the above case. It was cheap and I really wanted to try a rotating case. I will let you guys know what I think after I get it.

So I got the case yesterday overall pretty nice the tablet snaps in and is held by friction I am not sure the tablet would be protected from a fall or not as I think the tablet would pop out and I am not ready to test that theory so I will just try not to drop it for now. The rotation is nice it holds the tablet for me when I am eating lunch makes reading and watching movies a little nicer. I would recommend this case for the price it is pretty good.

So the cases meant for the v700 will fit the LTE VK700 version? I have been looking everywhere for differences but I cant find them. The measurements are the same but could be sensor placement differences. I know the G Pad 8.3 wifi and LTE cases do not fit due to sensors and thickness.

[Q] Any good waterproof cases?

Not sure where to put this since it's a question about accessories, so my apologies is this is on the wrong place.
I'm wanting to get a waterproof case for my beloved Rezound. I just want to use my phone in the shower (read news, watch a movie, etc). Disposable solutions are a no go, as are zip lock bags and silicone. I'm looking for a real case. Bonus points if it's easily removed to switch back to a regular TPU case when I don't need it.

I was thinking of buying this one or the sports version of been all around the web trying to find reviews on overboard, but haven't really found anything reputable... currently i'm using the extended battery and wouldnt want to have to switch to the stock battery to use this case... so my question is... is it possible to use the rezound with extended battery in this OB case... or at the very least the stock battery with the cruzer tpu case for some added proctection inside the OB case... any input would be EXTREMELY helpful... thanks and have a great day... also i'm glad i found this forum... i usually troll android central.. but will now start coming here as well...

Asus VersaSleeve, thoughts?

I'm considering buying this one, because I'm looking for a slim case (tablet only) with some viewing angle stands, and this one looks really nice.
Do anyone of you have it? Would you recommend it? Does the tablet get damaged from the sides?
thanks!
I would recommend this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007P657RI/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01 over the VersaSleeve, I have both and the VersaSleeve is more of a carrying case (for tablet+dock).
i want the new one they made for the T201. Does anyone know if it will fit ours?

Somewhat fits, but don't think it fits properly - read somewhere that the cover doesn't quite properly clip on securely.
Wouldn't go there myself though.
Mine arrived from samsclub.com. Looks like a quality piece and I like the shiny brown material the sleeve is made with.

Any chance you could post a few on device pics and some close ups please? The versasleeve is on my very short list as I want more of a carrying case that a cover.
I got mine today, and I must say, it's super awesome!!
If you don't want a case that sits stuck on your table, and want more of a carrying bag that double acts as a dual-view stand for your tablet, this is perfect!

Yes...
I use the VersaSleeve for a couple of months now, and I think it's great. As said earlier, it really is a 'carrying bag' which also doubles as a stand for the tablet. But if you want to use the tablet, you need to take it out of the 'bag', which is a big advantage for me because I don't want to hold a tablet and extra case, which makes it only heavier and thicker.

I am very happy with the MoKo Flip Stand Cover Case
Here is the one i am using and i just cannot get over how much i freaking love it.. I am beyond impressed. Its 12 bucks.. took about 2~3 weeks to get here. But well worth the wait. My step mom got a case for her Kindle, has the option of putting it up in a prop mode. Like for watching movies. But she paid freaking 30 bucks for it. The quality of my case is (in my mind) better than hers, it has the function to rotate the device to prop it up in landscape or portrait. I cannot explain in words how amazed i am. Prolly the best quality product i have ever gotten from China.

How's the buttons, port and slim case? Does it fits properly?
How's the build quality? Does it leave any mark on the screen when close? I have this case on my kindle and it kinda leave stripe mark due to the fabric from the case but it can be easily removed by wiping and doesn't leave any scratch. I also want this one but items from this area usually takes 2 weeks minimum.
Another thing it looks like it provides 2 viewing angle, on my kindle its only stable when landscape and it falls back when portrait mode especially for lower angle viewing.
would appreciate if you post pic showing the thickness and how it stand for both landscape and portrait in both viewing angle.
I think I will be getting this one especially available in prime
I have the versa sleeve. Got it on samsclub.com for like 12$ thanks to someone here on xda posting the sale!
I like it a lot for my needs. I had a thick poetic case, but it was too bulky. I prefer to use the tablet naked and then have the sleeve to use as a stand/carrying case. It is thick, durable and I don't worry about it when I throw the tablet in my messenger bag. The stylus loop on it is a plus.

Worth $130?

My friend is selling me his watch, that he got recently, for $130. It's a decent price, but I already use the Gear 2 Neo -- which I think is pretty great. The battery life lasts over a week! But I don't mind charging it every day...
Should I get it?

It depends on if you'll use it. A new watch is down to $179 now and it's going to compete against Apple watch, Moto, and LG G Watch R. Plus I think that $130 is a good price. I would pay that for a used LG GW in good condition. At the very least you could sell it for that if you don't like it.
$130??? That's a no brainer
I just purchased one from Swappa.com and I got it for $120. I think both rates are great considering that I paid about $30-40 less for the pebble watch. I would get it.

Here's mine: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55436398&postcount=123 It's one of those metal elastic kind that stretch with springs, so your arm hairs can get caught in between which is kinda annoying, but I had it sized just right so it doesnt move around much and thus isnt too much of an issue for me. If one gets caught I just stretch the band back out real quick and I'm good.
I think black leather with white stitching also looks really good and I may end up getting that too. You can see it around in other pics online.

For some (like myself) the fuss with round watches come from the fact that a round screen mimic much better a classier round watch face. Also round display is bigger (at least on the Moto360).
However after using the square screen on my G Watch, I really think I'll have a hard time adjusting to a round one once I upgrade to the LGGWR.
Cheers!

Quite honestly since I got my white/gold version, I don't feel the urge to get a "newer" smartwatch anymore...
Don't get me wrong, I do love the idea of having the G Round for example, but even though I've been loving AndroidWear, and especially now that I know every aspect of it, paying more than $100 or $150 for a smartwatch on its current state does not make sense to me at this moment, at least not anymore.
I think I'll hold until the next round or two of AndroidWear hardware/software.
By the way, I think the white G Watch looks more interesting than the black one.
Tip: try to cut a small piece of Post-It and cover the charging pins to protect them from rusting, really easy to remove and replace every night. Just make sure the sticky part sits on the case and a small non-sticky flap covers the pins.
Cheers!

Running arm band

Any recommendations? I have only found one made for the N6 but there maybe one fit for the note series our iPhone 6+ that will work.

Interesting. Do you run with it? Do you track your runs if you do, and is it accurate? Otherwise, for less than $10 the arm band in the OP looks decent to me.

Thanks for the info. I just ordered the running armband. I like the design of it better than the generic one I have for my Note II
Another Belt- based option.: http://www.amazon.com/SPIbelt-Small...e=UTF8&qid=1416851897&sr=1-1&keywords=spibelt
I grabbed one of these from a Running store a while back and have used it with my Galaxy S II (T989), Nexus 4, and now my Nexus 6. The nexus 6 is a bit of a tight fit but it works perfectly and does not fall down so long as you tighten the band correctly and have it above your hips, and not on them. I pair this with a cheaper BT stereo headset while running because I can't stand cords at all while working up a sweat.

Just had a 3 miles run with running buddy 6+. It attaches very well with my track pants. Nexus 6 snugs nicely (seems like it will fit well with snap on case) and do not bounce while running. It do feel awkward mainly due to how big phone is. I think will get used to in a while. Its definitely better than arm bands. Attached few pictures.
I was running yesterday with the Google Nexus 6 Easy Fitting Sport Case and Armband Combo from SUPCASE.
I'm really happy with the armband. It holds the Nexus 6 perfectly in place.

Does the rubber case part of the armband easily come off or is it pretty tight on the phone? I was thinking about getting this one.
On the front the case covers all the non-display area. The Phone sits tight in the case. To get the phone out I always pull on an edge on the bottem (2nd photo). So I have no problems to get the phone out of the case. The whole case consits of rubber.

Awesome. Thanks for the detailed reply and photos. Looks like I'll be purchasing one then!
I've always used TuneBelt. I went through AB86 for the Galaxy Nexus, then AB88 for the Nexus 5 (I had to order the AB88 from Germany because it was not available in the UK at the time).
As again, the TuneBelt is not available in the UK yet, I found this one on Amazon and gave it a try as it was so cheap http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00QV6849G?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00 although knowing it was going to be crap.
Well, it's not completely crap, but you get what you pay for, no surprise, and it's too tight. It came with the cardboard insert for the Note 4. It's even tight for the Note 4! (tried with my son's)
So I just went ahead and ordered the AB92 from the Netherlands http://www.ipodhoes.nl/tune-belt-ab92-sport-armband.html
I probably won't be using it as armband at the gym as the phone is so big for my arm it looks ridiculous , but it's still more protection than just the case and with BT earphones I don't need it on me but I like to be able to see the screen for the HR monitor (with a pouch style it would not be possible).
I'll post pics when it arrives.

I'm using a Spigen SlimArmour case which is still quite big and it fits very well, it would even take a bigger case.
If you don't use a case, it might be a bit too big, maybe the AB91 would be best.

Lots of goggles in Amazon. The really good ones, like Zeiss are way too expensive. I bought Pop Tech 3D VR glasses. Had a cheaper pair, Joy Geek.. Returned them. My new glasses being delivered on Wednesday Dec. 30.[emoji2]

This is what I am using. Fits nicely and has a remote control..not sure if we can just use Bluetooth remotes (wiimote would be nice) haven't really tried them yet.
Do any of these work for a Nexus 6 with a thin cover, such as a Seidio Surface? I'd love to try one, but don't want to have to remove my cover every time I use it.

I was looking to get this one. Can you see everything on your screen? Our phones are pretty big.

Yeah it fits very snug in the headset...comes with some padding to situate it correctly...the volume buttons kept getting pushed until I figured out where to put the sticky pads...
As far as the viewing ...I can see everything...you have to move the eye lenses around to make it clearer but I can see the corners very well.
Overall I would highly recommend. Pretty cheap so no reason not to.
Make sure to check out the Star Wars app for some very cool VR stuff.
Also there is NO WAY to use any case as the phone BARELY fits as it is....it does fit but has to be naked.
What good software goes with specific pair of VR goggles? Do not want to spend bucks on a headset and find nothing useful to run using it.
You gotta pay to play

Not much yet mostly slightly interactive videos...some games but its in development still. Don't buy if you don't want to but it will only get more development as time goes on. If you want something to google while your looking for software...try this
https://www.google.com/search?q=tri...id-tmobile-us&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8
It let's you remote your PC with a vr headset
Can confirm it works pretty well with gta5 in first person.
As long as your PC and WiFi are above average.

Thanks. It looks like there is a newer version of that headset. I just bought it. The name is VR BOX 2.0. I will report back how it is if I don't forget.

Can you or anyone provide a list of VR goggles that will work with the Nexus 6, preferably with a case, although that doesn't look possible.
No! I'm looking myself

Could you please-please-please post some photos of the phone inside? Is it a set it and forget it setup, where you can adjust everything once and then just easily drop the phone in or do you have to align the phone centrically each time you drop it in?

Does anyone have the Giant Version of Cardboard from this link? If so, does it fit the Nexus 6 any better than the VR box 2.0? Also, what is the remote for that comes with the VR box, as shown around 3:45 in this video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaIhOIZTalY

Just curious, why would you want a cardboard when you can get a proper VR headset made out of plastic, which also you don't have to hold with one hand for about as much?
For the remote -- search aliexpress or gearbest for "bluetooth vr remote".

I would rather have a plastic one with head straps, but previous posters have said that the Nexus 6 doesn't fit in them. I have asked and searched for one that will fit, but no luck. Ideally, I'd like to find one that will fit my phone with a case, but it might take a next generation for that to happen.
I want to buy one for my Nexus 6. Those with experience with these gadgets, which one would you advice ? Price isn't a concern as long as it is not more than 50$.
Thanks.

I have another model which I bought a year if not more ago for my Nexus 5, but for Nexus 6 the VR Box 2 seems to be the winner features-wise. Last I checked it could be had from aliexpress for less than $30 with remote and shipping all in.
Hey all,
Just stopping in to say I purchased the VRBox 2 from Gearbest.com about two weeks ago. It should be arriving today according to the tracking number. I'll post an update when I get it and try and take some photos and give you guys details on how the Nexus 6 (not 6p) fits in there and how the VR is.
It cost me 25 USD and I ended up paying 10 dollars extra for express shipping which still in my opinion took way to long.
Will post an update tonight after I mess with the headset.
