Samsung Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5110
I'm trying to use ROM Installer to install the latest version of TWRP on my Tab 2. When I select "Flash Recovery," ROM Installer doesn't find any available recoveries to select from. So, instead I select "Flash Image." I have partition set as recovery, I select my image, hit flash, says successful but it did nothing when I boot into recovery to check the build. I do notice that under "Flash Script" it shows "ERROR: cannot locate recovery partition." I would just use ODIN to do this but my PC is messed up right now and I only have a MacBook. I'm sure there is another way but I was hoping ROM Installer could save me some hassle. Any tips?

The same thing occured with me. Even my Gionee e7 mini says that cannot locate recovery partition. Can I get any help here??

Hello,
I've just read, that there was a problem with the audio in the M11 build. Unfortunately I saw the hint at my Z2, that there is a new build and installed it today. After having trouble with this build I installed the old M10-snapshot still on my phone. The result right now is a bootloop.
I do not have a backup . Saw the new snapshot as offered at 'settings - my device' and installed it.
Is there a chance to get my Z2 back to work with installing the latest nightly build (without wiping etc. to have my data and settings back).
Kind regards,
Tom
Try a new nightly built. I did the same thing when I discovered audio didn't work, but flashing the latest nightly fixed it for me.
I have normal install this rom on my Z2 but now is the sceen black and when I press the power button the Z2 only vibrate.

Can't root my tab, Heimdall can't find "RECOVERY"
Help, I'm trying to root my GAlaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi. First of all, the ODIN program and Heimdall GUI ask for gz.tar files, but all the recovery files I download are .img files....?? Well I'm trying to put TWRP on my Tab through Heimdall command line (I'm on Linux), but I get this error:
Code:
ERROR: Partition "RECOVERY" does not exist in the specified PIT.
I have tried typing RECOVERY both in upper cases and lower cases.
After this, the device just reboots into stock ROM.
The command I am using is
Code:
sudo heimdall flash --RECOVERY recovery.img --no-reboot
Any ideas?
I'm not familiar with Heimdall, so if possible try to use Odin. Go to http://droidbasement.com/db-blog/?p=3158 and download the recovery.tar.md5 for your tab version, launch Odin, connect your tab, select PDA and choose the recovery.tar.md5 file and flash. And then you can flash the twrp zip file from AAcount's Omni ROM thread through recovery. To root, the easiest and most updated way is to simply flash the SuperSU zip from recovery. http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu

Why are the links removed? I want those links badly
Hello! Since everything here seams to be outdated I'm going to add my own little guide right here.
I tried to put this in the main thread, but was unable to.
This worked fine for me.
I Started with Stock Android ICS + stock recovery and ended up with rooted stock + ClockWorkMod recovery.
Rooting GT-P7500 (3G):
(I'm sure this works with whatever model you have.)

Galaxy Tab 10.1 Root Guide by djR3Z
Hello,
I don't have a noob question, I just need the links updated in the "[GUIDE] How to Root the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 [Video Walkthrough]" by djR3Z. I have a friend who has this tablet and still uses it so I need the links updated please. He has the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7510 wifi only. I see dennyhhh has posted links but do they work for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7510 wifi only? Yea, he wants to update from the Android Honeycomb version, I dont blame him!!
Thank you.
Where can I find links, I need it.
Thanks!
Missing links
I feel like I'm overlooking the links...but I don't see them.
2017 update
Hi everyone, I just rooted my galaxy tab 10.1 wifi and it was difficult to find the files, hopefully I can help someone in trouble.
First of all, dennyhhh thanks a lot for the instructions, that was clear but unfortunately the clock work mode doesn't work that way now. So I'll cite what dennyhhh said:

So it was not very clear to me how to use the Caboomis script so I ended up downloading the tar file that is mention on original post:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862684556
I also used a really old version of Odin, It was 1.3
Also, If you have troubles to get in the download mode you must press Power button + low volume button and when the galaxy logo shows, inmedialty let the power button go while still pressing the low volume button.
I guided myself with dennyhhh post and also the original post, the difference is that I installed the superSU instead of Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_10.1_root.zip on recovery mode.
That's all Fellas!!! By the way the clockrom is now an app you can download from the market after the root:good:

Cant Boot into Custom Recovery
Hi guys, I'm having trouble flashing recovery on S5310i 4.4.2. Odin flash successful but cant boot into recovery. Stuck at logo before booting into recovery. Any suggestions. Help will be much appreciated as I have run out of ideas.
need root s5310i
plz i need root for s5310i
Cant load CWM
guajojo said:
For anyone else having trouble with this, you have to copy the root zip in the external storage(microSD) then after succefully flashin CWM from Odin you have to press the recovery keys ( Vol+ and home) to enter recovery before the phone get to reset from the odin PDA flash, this mean to press the buttons right after the status bar fills on the phone screen, this is the trick to enter the real CWM recovery and not the stock one, from here you can flash the root zip.

Mine is S5312c ,also with 4.4.2 KitKat and Menu replaced with Recent Apps. Would that inflict on using this CMW ?
Im such a noob, idk if CWM have something to do with Android Version as it does with models ...
I mean,I know I need the CWM strictly for S5310/5312 in my case, but Idk if the fact that my phone is running 4.4.2 KitKat will made it unsupportable for this CMW.

Yeah, I got cwm 6.0.5.1
