Yes. First read the #11 post in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-sprint/help/root-4-4-4-using-towelroot-t2961374/page2 so I don't have to type it again. Now go to my thread it will give you all the info you need http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-sprint/general/samsung-note-3-rom-flashin-basics-t2896440 I assume you want to root your device without tripping KNOX, everything is in the above threads . I appreciate the guidance, but I, like the OP, would like to know if there is another way of doing this w/o having to downgrade... no need to belittle the question, after all this is a forum, where by definitions questions are expected...
BTW, anybody has found a way to root 4.4.4 w/o downgrade? Thanks!

Despite all the negative feedback you've gotten by asking your question, YES there is a way. I found it and then created a new thread with the step-by-step.
Unfortunately, it does require unlocking bootloader and a few other tradeoffs such as losing X-reality and your warranty.
For full details: ROOT without downgrade

I have already back to KK, no root -- no gapps... Pls let me know when you find the solution. Thanks.
there's lolipop custom rom in russian forum, its original firmware with some tweaks and u can flash it using kitkat twrp, flash it together with supersu after flash that rom and then reboot, there' the only way to root s90 lollipop fr now as i know, but u will lose twrp and only stock recovery after that. i have tested it but went back to kitkat because cant use xposed in lollipop without custom recovery.

dude when you open the general section you will find your answers in the sticky threads (beginning threads).
not to sound rude but you're being lazy.

Actually, i know how to root and all that. I just want to know is it safe or not after the update to 5.1 because the bootloader is now updated.

You can do it using my guide. You first have to flash a full stock 5.1.1 ROM and then follow my guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/general/howto-flash-g92xf-t-tripping-knox-t3158606
