You can either use an adapter to transfer a rom from your computer to your external sd card, and put in in your phone afterwards for installing/flashing through recovery, or you can connect your phone to computer while in download mode and install a rom through Odin

Hej try to connect the phone to the pc and put the zip file into the internal sd card. Now switch your phone in cmw recovery mode with home+off switch+volume up...now go to the option something like "install zip"and then install from internal sd and choose the folder.now after the installation flash the kernel with odin again...that should so the trick then

I wiped my internal sd card.. My galaxy s2 won't boot anymore

I made a grave mistake today, I wiped everything in my internal sd card. Now it won't boot anymore. It is just booting from the galaxy s2 logo. I followed the guide in the the wiki of cyanogenmod
The part where i made a mistake is in the "Place the CyanogenMod update.zip file on the root of the SD card." I thought that the root of the sd card is in my external microsd card. So I proceeded and put the update.zip in the microsd card.. Then I did Wipe data/factory reset and Wipe cache partition. After that I tried to find the update.zip but can't find it anywhere.
So I rebooted my galaxy s2, then bang it won't start anymore. It just loops in the galaxy s2 logo part.
So I searched google and found out that I wiped everything in my internal sd card including the stock galaxy s2 software. i made the biggest mistake of the year.
I mistakenly put the cm9 in my external sd card.. The clockwork mod can't read the external sd card. So now i'm stock with a brick galaxy s2
Please help me. I just started this rooting thing and now my galaxy s2 is bricked.
I know the odin application can help me flash a new rom. But i don't know where to proceed. What rom should I download?
If i can install a custom rom using odin i know this can help me fix my problem.
Please guide me. im begging all of you.
Can you still put your phone in download mode? if you can, then you can probably install stock rom.after that you can root your phone again. have you tried intratech's thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928
Sounds to me like you didn't flash a proper kernel. You'll get stuck at the boot logo if that happens.

yes. i think thats what happened. please help me fix this.
I would advise you use odin to flash a stock rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278 use this to download a stock rom / root it. Then you can flash any rom after that!
I deleted my internal on purpose
You say Clockwork Mod can't recognise your External SD card, so i presume you can get into recovery?. if you're running a custom recovery like Clockwork and you can get in to recovery you'll be ok.
Dl a custom rom (checkrom) or kernel which supports external sd card, (like siyah or something) Connect your phone to your pc, and boot into recovery. Go to storage options in recovery and mount your phone. Your internal memory should be available to view in your pc. Copy across the file(s) you downloaded and Install the zip. The custom rom will bring you back to speed, or the custom kernel will allow you to flash whatever you had on your External SD to begin with. I recommend the rom flash though.
There should be plenty of help regarding Odin in the forums. Let us know how you get on.

If you wiped internal sd card you need to remove and replace battery enter download mode and flash a stock rom via ODIN .As you have wiped the entire OS so phone cannot boot to something that no longer exists .
Any stock rom will recover your phone logic says use one for your location .

i fixed it!!! thank you for your help!! hahaha im so happy. thank you very much kind sir
Happy to help, and good to hear it worked out
This is how you learn about custom roms, i think its good to get a bootloop etc. because it forces you to try troubleshoot and increases your knowledge.
and also if you can get into CWM recovery then thats generally a good sign and things can be recovered from there.
glad everything worked for you.

[Q] Format System

Hi guys,
I have accidentally formatted my Galaxy S3 system and now I only get the Samsung logo. My laptop cannot detect my phone and it has no response. :crying:
Can anyone help me with it? With GREAT thanks!!!!
Hi noob
Formatting the system partition removes the OS, therefore the phone can't boot but that's not a problem.
All you need to do is boot up your phone on Download mode (keep volume down + home button + power button pressed) and then flash an official ROM through Odin from your PC. Get the XXALF6 ROM preferably from the official roms thread, as it's the latest.
Once flashed your phone will boot fresh like new again.
Or just flash one from cwm if you have a rom zip stored on your phone.
If you don't then Odin it.
Or adb push the zip to your sdcard in recovery.

Please infoem moderator to move to Q&A, thanks.
If you formatted system, you probably did it through CWM Recovery?
So, just flash any custom ROM.zip from external sdcard via CWM recovery and reboot.
Else, follow the suggestion in previous post.
Hey guys! I have the same problem except when i try to flash the rom through odin it gives me: "system.img.ext4" and then "Complete(Write) operation failed". Is there anything that I did wrong?

I Need Help To UnBrick My Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830

Ok so I am new to Custom ROMs and I installed a ROM called Nexus v.1.0, I think it is JellyBean v4.3.3 or something. I rooted my phone first and dowloaded an app to check if it was rooted. It said Yes so I proceeded to flash Nexus onto my device. It installed correctly but now when I switch on my phone, it just stops on the screen where it says Android. It doesn't go any further no matter how long I wait. I didn't use Titanium or ClockWork or any of those other things while doing this. What do I do? :crying:

Problem is I don't have the stock ROM and to put the Stock ROM on my SD Card I need to be able to get past the boot screen on my phone so I can connect it to my PC. So I need to get a download of the Stock ROM and I need to be able to put it on my SD Card without connecting my phone to my PC.

I know but for your device to show up on Odin you have to get on your phone and give it permission to connect to the PC. Since I can't get past the boot I can't give it access so it can't connect to my PC.

Boot in SD Card Samsung Galaxy S3 GT i9300

Hi everyone,
I've been searching how to boot in sd card for a week and tired and hopeless. I stumbled up here.
I know there are custom roms out there (TWRP, CWM)but my problem is I don't have access to usb cable to connect odin since my port was busted and the technician wasn't able to repair it. It only charged but no data data...
The problem is the android OS was corrupted. I can only access the recovery mode and I have tried to reset factory settings but with no success. I just need to know if I can boot on SD card alone to install an OS or install TWRP or CWM recovery without any sort of cable. Thanks...

Get someone with your same device and is rooted to pull a debrick.img from their device using terminal emulator app and have them upload it for you.
Then follow these instructions in the link below using the debrick file you get from them, ignore the device files linked in the thread, you only want the PC tools from the thread, then using your debrick.img follow the instructions.
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2581166
You will see the instructions mention debrick.bin and debrick.img, they are the same thing, when you see it say one of these it it is talking about the debrick file you get from whoever helps you if they pull a copy for you. Use that file when it mentions doing something with either .bin.or .img.
After you get the device booted there are instructions to return your sdcard to normal use.
