[Root] [KitKat] How to Disable Knock On - Sprint LG G3

I love knock on, and it works great for me. But some people apparently have a problem with the phone turning on in their pocket. The Sprint ZV6 update supposedly has some changes included to address this problem, but how effective it will be is anyone's guess. I was recently involved in a discussion elsewhere as to whether it would be possible to use Tasker to prevent knock-on from working in your pocket, but I don't think it is.
I did discover another approach, though, that will work. Verified on the LS990 with BarRin v2, but it should work on any rooted G3 with a stock-based kernel. ( IF you have an AT&T or T-Mobile version, you can probably find this setting in HiddenMenu without using the Shortcut Master app, by entering the dialer codes as in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/mod-root-rid-lag-g3-t2819365)
Note that this will turn off both knock on and knock OFF. If you still want to use knock off, you'll need to use one of the many screen off apps in the play store, in combination with an alternate launcher like Nova or Apex.
1. Download and install Shortcut Master: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.shortcutmaster.lite
2. Open the app and select Search from the menu. Enter hiddenmenu in the search field, and press search.

3. Scroll down and find the row for com.lge.hiddenmenu.settings.LgSrvKnockonSetting
4. Tap that row, and then tap on "Launch"
5. Change the toggle from On to Off, then back out of Shortcut Master.
You can repeat the steps to turn it back on.

Been using this since day one. Worse idea I've ever heard of, having this enabled. I'm sure other will appreciate this too.
Thanks.

also for verizon,search knock and you should find it for verizon users

Same, I disabled this right away back in Sept using the exact method posted. But awesome tutorial, pics and all. Good work!

Does it save for battery if i turn this feature off?

Marginally, yes but barely noticeable. Unless it was constantly going off in your pocket, thats a big battery waster, lol.

[Q] Lock Screen

I have looked, but since I'm not even 100-percent that "lock screen" is the thing I'm talking about, I wasn't surprised not to find the answer I am looking for.
I've updated my Streak on ATT to 2.2
Baseband Version
GAUSB1A131800-US
Kernel Version
2.6.32.9-perf
OEM Version
GAUSB1A131800
Build Number
12821
I miss the old lock screen (if that is indeed what it is called). I like having the network info, battery charge state, and other info right in front of me when I press the power button to turn the screen back on. Also, I don't really like the swipe to unlock "feature" of the 2.2. Is there any way to revert to the 1.6-style lock screen. Oh, and if it isn't called a lock screen, what is it?
Thanks
Do you use this with an exchange server that requires a password to unlock? If not, then Widget Locker is what you want (I think). It is a paid app ($2?) that lets you completely customize the lock screen with any information you want on it.
I didn't keep my 1.6 long and I don't remember what that lock screen had on it, but I think widget locker is the app for you.
I do use it with an Exchange server that requires a password.
I mainly miss the battery percentage when I press the power button. I don't want to go through all the hoops to see how much battery I've got left... that's my biggest gripe. Sure I can see it when I'm charging, but I want to see it anytime I press the power button and end up on the lock screen.
I would love to get the old lockscreen back, too! Isn´t it somewhere hidden within the Options like the old WLAN & Network settings windows is?
Is this of any help?
Thanks! But sadly it isn´t! This was how the Lockscreen looked like, it has shown some infos about provider, calender, battery etc.:

[Q] Couple App/Widget questions

A few questions...
Anyone use the stock photo album widget? I have one on one of my screens for when my phone is in its dock at work. It works fine when it is in the dock bc It's charging, and I have it set to keep the screen on when charging. However, when it is out of the dock, and the screen goes off, when I turn it back on, the most recent image is all it shows and it will not go into rotation. I have to open it back up and say "OK" to my selected pictures to get it working again. I don't have any battery saving or task killing aps, so I know I don't accidentally have it set to auto end on screen off. All I have is the stock Samsung Task Manager.
Know of any fixes for this? Maybe try another widget like it on the market?
Also, I came from an Atrix and they had a task manager that I just simply loved. It was smooth and simple and I could add what I wanted to an auto end list. As far as I know, Samsungs T.M. doesn't allow this, and all the apps I find on the market do more than I want it to. I don't want something like Juice defender or what not. Just something simple that allows me to put stuff in an auto end list when screen goes blank. Does stock Samsung T.S. do this and I am just not seeing it? Any 3rd party apps you suggest for this function?
Last thing... Know of any widgets that ACCURATELY show info like CPU speed and temp that is transparent? I like a very materialistic look and I am not liking the black background of the Antutu widgets.
Something that would look good with this...

[Q] Jelly Bean 'Complete Action Using'

Hi,
Just flashed a Jelly Bean ROM to my wife's I9000 and it seems that there is now a very annoying feature. The 'Complete Action Using' popup menu now requires an extra click to load the app you want.
Previously you had the option to select an app to perform a certain function, for example to make a call you could choose Phone, Skype or Viber etc., you also had the option to set this choice as the default so you would not get asked the question again. In this instance, my wife (and me as well) would not want to select a default action as to which app you would use to make a call as this would depend on who you were calling, network connection etc.
Now, on Jelly Bean, if you don't set a default action, you are forced to press 'Just Once' every time you want to start an app from this menu, doubling the amount of clicks than before.
Is there any workaround for this?
Thanks.
*bump*?
I'm just struggling with the same annoying semi-'feature' :/
+1
Very annoying feature. Anyway to change it?
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=37110
@.wojtek,
Have you received anything from google regarding this issue? My wife's really bending my ear about it now. Might have to go back to ICS, just because of this!!!
no, unfortunatelly not... and I think I won't at all. The only solution will be probably to star the issue on the google code and make a 'fuss' on the internet about it...
Jelly Bean Anoying defult "complete action using"
Man.. how annoying.,
could someone please make a patch. if one doesn't already exist
You can double tap the desired program and it will launch that as the once only selection. Or you can try a Rom that has restored the single tap behavior PAC has this so you only need to tap once to select the once only option.

strange stats on display covering everything

Hello,
Sorry if I'm not posting this in the right place, however I don't know where else to try.
Since yesterday evening, I have some strange cpu and battery stats on my rooted Galaxy S6 device:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
These stats appear on top of everything, including my secure lockscreen, camera, etc, which makes me think this is some hidden Android feature.
The reason why I'm posting is: I personally didn't enable this, I've had some guests yesterday, but none of them is really tech-savvy, and I don't have any additional apps installed since yesterday.
Does anybody have any idea what this is and how to disable it?
Thanks
It's of an app installed on your device, AccuBattery, check it's settings, or uninstall it if you don't need it.

Wow, I feel like a complete idiot.
Apparently, after I bought accubattery, I didn't notice that I had new options available in it's menu.
Someone must have turned the on.
For reference, anyone else who gets this - in Accubattery, open up the main menu and you have Overlay Settings. That's where you can enable or disable the overlay statistics.
The weird thing is that they will appear on top of everything, which can seen confusing, and rather annoying.

I used a performance tweak trick from XDA and want to reverse it

It has been a while since I did this trick so I'm doing my best to recall exactly what the tutorial said. I couldn't find anything via the search function and googling so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction to help me reverse it.
So roughly a year ago, I found a performance tweak trick on (I believe) XDA that required you to use AndroidSDK to change some settings on your phone so that it, if I recall correctly, forced some of the background apps to close (or something similar...I could be completely wrong about what it did). It was a non-root method. One of the key distinctive features of using this trick was that you would not be able to see the power consumption of each app in the phone settings anymore.
Since doing this tweak, android auto would constantly disconnect and reconnect from my car and I suspect that the tweak was causing the problem (Note: I installed the ability to use android auto via a 3rd party tweak and not from the dealer). I did not have any issues with using android auto until after doing the performance tweak, hence my suspicion. I also don't have a spare android to troubleshoot whether the problem is actually my phone. There hasn't been a noticeable difference in performance on my phone either after using the tweak so I would like to reverse it.
Notwithstanding my ability to find another android phone to troubleshoot with, the alternative option would be to do a factory reset on the phone.
@DevlicK
Do you mean you can't access the app power monitor settings on your Android device?

I can, it's just that the power consumption of apps page doesn't show anything/
@jwoegerbauer
Clarification: Battery usage for software shows up as 0% and the Power Consumption Page does not show any apps using battery power (but I can still see the hardware usage e.g screen, gps bluetooth etc)
