Is it possible to get youtube to run in 1080p on December hdx7 rooted. I edited the build.prop to 4.4.4 but still only 720p works.

is 1080p not working on CM11 / CM12?
already edited build.prop and installed an older app-version

Why? Absolutely no difference on a 7/8.9" screen. Just consumes more bandwidth and potentially slows playback.

Android 4.2.2 and youtube video resolution

Hello, i recently got my first device using android 4.2.2 and i see that the only video resolution for youtube that i can select is HQ but i cant select for example 720p or 1080p.
Does 4.2.2 is missing this youtube feature?
I know that older ios version you couldnt select it but with ios 7 is available.

Android version has nothing to do with an apps ability to display in a certain resolution. Youtube just simply doesn't have that support, it's either HQ or not. Simple as that.

Oh this really sucks. Clearly this is a step down in android compared to ios. It's shame cause that HQ option it's not even close to high quality.

XBMC for Allwinner A31S (CS918S)?

I have a CS918S box that has quad core A31S and PowerVR SGX544MP2 but I can't find any version of XBMC that plays back videos properly.
This box is apparently capable of 4k video playback but I can't even get 720p or 1080p working smoothly.
Does anyone know how I can get it playing video consistently?

I am using Himedia H7 which has the same A31S. I installed the latest XBMC (ver 13 official) and found the same problem.
I went to set up page - video - accelaration, and changed the decoding method to sofltware decoding with multiple CPU. After that, I found it can play 720p video smoothly. Very pleasant surprise.
It can't do 1080p but I am happy with 720p.

I've found the Beyond XBMC and Semper from the Ouyforum works best. So far [email protected] works perfectly. Currently trying to figure out how to get full 1080p working

You still can't even watch 1080p with the YouTube app?
That crap really annoyed me on my Nexus 7 (2013) where you could only watch 720p at most. :-/
Use the previous update of YouTube and you will be able to watch 1440p just disable auto update from Google playstore ....

That's weird .... Because im using it right now ... and im able to watch 1440p videos .....
Working for me ... try it one more time ..... I know it works because people from the LG G3 thread said was working good ...
I downloaded the YouTube apk from your mediafire link and it worked for me.
It should be noted that I had to remove YouTube twice using System app remover (ROOT) (pro), firstly I removed from User Apps but then when I rebooted YouTube was still present and started updating automatically. I then removed another YouTube that was present in the System Apps section and so it was removed completely.
Installed the above apk and now can enjoy 2K YouTube videos :good:

Here's what i've done :-
Disabled Auto Updates for the Youtube App in the marketplace
Uninstalled the youtube app using Titanium
Restarted the phone
Installed the linked version of Youtube
Open it and still 720p is the max resolution i can select on a video i know goes to 4k resolution
Any help?
Cheers guys
Im using 5.10.3.5 and I get 1080p on videos that support it. Havent tried higher, because... well... my current device (Note 3) has a 1080p screen (soon to be a Note 4). According to google play, thats the last and latest version here in Scandinavia.

Root your device .... delete youtube from your system "Root Explorer Pro" redoot device ... make sure youtube is not in your system device . And know install the version that I posted ... and know you should be able to see 1440p resolution .....
Also make sure auto update is disable from your playstore
Ok, after some fiddling around, clearing cache, wiping data, removing, reinstalling etc i can now get the 1440p option to show... However when i select anything from the resolution selector nothing seems to happen. I click the cog again and the resolution is the same as it was before ...

It's not perfect, which is why I imagine it was removed from later updates.
On mine I noticed it would autoselect a lower (720p) resolution when I was far from my router but nearer it would stay on 1440p, we have fibre optic broadband but the router is pretty crap so it makes sense to me.

I'm pretty sure this isn't the reason - even if i select 480p it doesn't change anything...
I've gone back to the latest Youtube app at 720p for now - until Google get their **** sorted.
Ok. I was able to see 1440p videos after this was done. And just today i cant no longer been trying to view a video in 1440p and now it only shows on 720p
I deleted the youtube app clean cache . Tempe files etc restarted phone and installed again and i dont know what happened i no longer can see the 1440p again
Any other version Of youtube available or other way
did same as shown but the youtube you post is 13 version no 5 and its same 720p maximum why???
update:i now see the 1080p or 1440 but when i choose nothing happened when i check it back to 720p???
Mother fawwwwwkkk
I think its blocked server side

Moto camera with slowmo

Sup guys , after searching and messing with media_profiles.xml alot, finally i found a fix for slowmotion recording with stock moto camera on cm12.1.
just replace media_profiles.xml i have provided and volla .
these are the changes i have done apart from slowmo -
increased 4k bitrate to 65 from 30 mbps
increased 1080p bitrate to 20 from 17mbps
increased 4k audio bitrate to 320kbps
increased 1080p audio bitrate to 256kbps
image quality to 100%
how to - extract the file and copy it to the /system/etc/ , overwrite and give permission 644. you need moto camera already installed, just install it from playstore.
p.s.- it seems like slowmo isn't working exactly same as stock firmware but it's better than not working , it may work on other roms too i haven't tested yet. Doesn't work on cm13 according to some users and i can't fix it since im still on cm12.1 for obvious reasons
Its working thanks
Works great in NX Nexus rom
Update: CM12.1 Nightly 29 Oct support SlowMo
Nice find
It work for other then X Moto devices too, I test on MAXX, on CM base RR it use the same media profile from X.
Hope you or some one fix the slomo audio. But like you say better working slow then not working... :good:
Will use yours changes on my ROM...

i think audio can't be fixed in slowmo. think of it like this - when you fast forward/ rewind a video in any dvd player or digital player (pc), either audio gets messdup or it gets mute. that's how slowmo works. it records video @120fps and then plays it back at 30 fps. so it will be pretty slow speed audio . also if you open media_profiles.xml you can see it ignores audio settings for timelapse videos. so it can't be fixed without framework changes i guess. no idea honestly .
Not found in nexus rom 10.0.1 Marshamallow

Youtube Max Resolution of 360p

I have an HTC Desire 610. I just flashed and unofficial build of Slimkat (you can find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/desi...d-9-0-t3149308). After I flashed it, i realized on the stock YouTube app, there was no 480p option in Youtube (i was watching an HD vid, 1080p on my desktop, but it was on my phone). The only res that showed up was 360p 240p 144p and auto. Back on sense, i had 480p, so can anyone give me suggestions on how to fix this problem?
BTW, i chnaged the buil.prop to 4.4.2 insted of 4.4.4 but it didnt make a difference.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thx
Idk, I've been trying to find a fix for about a solid week now, although I am still kinda new to editing a ROM. Even still I haven't found a fix yet
