Meenova Mini MicroSD Reader - Nexus 6 Accessories

So far this thing is awesome. Works like a dream. The phone is not rooted so I had to get the Nexus Media Importer from the G store.

I have one and I love it.

Likewise....it works like a champ.

I use it with Nexus media importer! The best gadget för Nexus 6 and 9

Hi Guys.
I've ordered a black colored variant of Meenova SD Card reader and am awaiting for it to be delivered. All I'd like to ask is if it has a built in LED which lights up on detection by the device. There have been mixed reports, some stating the presence of LED while some state that it does not illuminate in case of a Black one. So how did it work out for you ? (Did it light up or not ?).Also, I would also like to ask if any other application other than Nexus Medial Importer is compatible with it.
Thanking you.

My black one does have the LED. During the day it's hard to see it, but at night it's more visible

That's fantastic.

I have the original version (v1?) and I love it. Now, the v1 (?) had a snap on cap and not the silicon holder and the cap has a tendency to come off. I have nearly lost it SEVERAL times .. SO .. I ordered the silicon holders by themselves. I will let you know when they get here if they fit and how it works out.
Good find!

Some pictures with them on nexus 6 would be great
Thanks

I've heard in the past that some devices won't function well with MicroSD cards larger than 64gb. Can anyone confirm if the Nexus 6 is fully compatible with a 128GB card, in particular with the Meenova?

I contacted them via Facebook a while back, and they told me specifically that the v1 Meenova won't fit in the v2 silicon holders. I was hoping they would. its a better carry case than the plastic cap.

Sad .. But is that is true, I will just order a new reader as well .. I guess.
I'll let you know my findings on Monday. (it is scheduled for delivery to my work today .. But I am on vacation)

Whoa, I didn't realize there was a new version of the Meenova. My original one still works great, and the new version with the silicon holder will stop me from worrying (like many others) about the stupid plastic cap flying off into space.
I can't recommend the Meenova enough for keeping some off-device backups and other storage. I fully plan on using this with my Nexus 6 just as much as I did with my Nexus 5.

G-tab accessories

Hey peeps, just picked up my G-Tab and need a screen protector and other small accessories. Any tips you can share before I hack the crap out of this device? Where is the best place to get accessories?

some people are getting netbook screen protectors and cutting them to fit, but i've gotta believe there will be ones made for the gtablet soon..
Send emails to the major vendors - I am going to start doing that. The more we ask, the more likely screen protectors will become available.

One good thing to know is that these ship with 2 layers of conductive film in place so if you smooth out the air bubbles in the shipping film they work pretty darn good for at least the short term...

I want to order a Nushield for my gtab. Do u think that would help with the viewing angles?
I bought this case from Amazon. I chose it because it had carry handles (can you say "man purse"?) The gtablet fits very well width wise, but has an extra inch or two height wise. It also has a pocket for cables and a few extras. Soft interior. I also ran across this same thing at Sams Club as a "one-time buy" for less than $10.

I Recognize This!!
I recognize this. When I bought my G-Tablet at Sears, they gave me one of these for free!
It was packaged in G-Tablet packaging like it is the one G-Tablet will provide, but it still has the "Case Logic" tag one.
It works well and has an auxiliary pocket -- but the tablet fits inside loosely so I'm looking for some padding to make it a little more solid and provide additional protection.
But for $5.99...........what do you expect!!!!????

Otterbox

Does anyone know if the otterbox for the NC will fit on an NT? As far as I can tell the NT and NC have the same dimensions but I am unsure about the screen size. I bought the NT for my 2yr old because I could not find a leappad explorer and need some protection for it lol.
Thanks
I have one on mine and it fits nicely. The mic is covered up, but a little creativity can get around that if need be.
Great thanks. I am guessing the mic is that little hole in the top right (and no not the one for the earphones, lol)? I can think what i will use that for anyway.
thanks.
Otterbox is now selling the commuter case modified specifically for the NT, including the mic hole. Received mine yesterday, and it is FANTASTIC on the tablet.

On the otterbox site, under the B&N cases section. Its still listed as for the Nook Color, but the item number now has a "B" suffix (I'm assuming they've added the new inventory item but have not yet added an NT section for the website). As you can see in the photo, it now has the mic hole molded in.

The Nook color and Nook tablet are almost the exact same size, except for like a millimeter here or there. From my testing if it's an NC case, it's also an NT case.
Picked up an Otterbox from their website, can confirm it now has the spot for the microphone opened up.
Screen protector is decent as well. I feel like this thing is ready for the battlefield now.

Even Barnes & Noble advertises Nook Color cases and accessories as also being for the Nook Tablet. The body of the devices is identical except for the microphone.
Can confirm, Otterbox Nook Color BNN4-NOOKC-20-E4OTR_B fits nicely on the Nook Tablet.
The screen protector seemed to always have a few 'spots' on it no matter how it was applied. Will probably pick up something from Monoprice for that.

Bike mount?

Did some searching and didn't see anyone asking before, so...
Anyone had any luck with specific bike mounts for this phone? I've got a mountain bike and would love to use it for GPS, tracking, music/podcasts, etc. So it should hold it firmly and still allow touch-screen usage. And not be too-specific as I have a case on my phone.

I wouldn't recommend strapping your phone directly to your bike. There are some nice arm bands that I think would work for your purposes but phone + bike frame+ trails = broken screen or backplate waiting to happen in my opinion. Sorry prolly not too helpful but thought I should throw my two cents in

I bought this and its perfect. Can't use with case and it did take about 4 weeks to arrive as its shipped from China....but very happy with it. And only $6.

I have what appears to be the same one, bought from eBay. There are many vendors, I bought from China but it only took about 1.5 weeks. I see one from NY (http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Bike-Bi...ccessories&hash=item564808e8cd#ht_2744wt_1230). The only problem with this is that the base won't mount to my road bike handlebars, which are quite thick, so I've attached the base using pull-straps, it's not perfect but works well enough. Other advantage of this is the same basic design is available for many phones - I had bought one for my Captivate, then for my Galaxy S II, so now I have one base for each of my bikes and I can move the portion which holds the phone between bikes easily.
I used to use this mount on my motorcycle when my speedo light went out; used a speedometer app at night.
The screen still works while it's in the case, though it's not *quite* as responsive, but it still works and it's protected from light rain, hail and mud.

This is hands down the best one available. Been using it for a week it is amazing. No vibration. Was using gomadic before, junk Lost my phone 3 times.
Fits perfectly. Says for i9100 only but it is a perfect fit. There is a waterproof one too but don't need waterproof and wasn't sure it would fit since it closes completely, I bet it would though.
Strongest one available trust me I've been looking. Needs to be for 150+ MPH! Has two actually bolts that clamp on instead of one weak plastic nut like most others. The handlebar clamp feels like aluminum too, not positive but I don't think its plastic.

Who's getting one and why?

Hey all
So anybody up for the Oppo R5? On the face of it, looks like a great little package. Octa-core processor backed up with 2 GB of RAM and a beautiful AMOLED display with a ppi of 423, all thrown into a package just 4.9mm thick! There are downsides, with only 16GB of memory and no SD card slot, storage could be a issue for some, as could the lack of a headphone socket!
So although not perfect, this sleek device does have some attraction, who's in?

The phone is so friggin thin it would be awesome, however the lack of a headphone jack and expandable storage is a deal breaker for me. I can see why there is no headphone jack as the phone itself is 4.9mm and the jack is 3.5mm. It is a neat phone but not very practical.
I love this phone and can't wait to get one. However I'm not sure how here in Texas. Will probably stick with my Oneplus One for daily use and the R5 for showing off....

It looks gorgeous.
No head phones and sd card a real problem though....

It looks wonderful and I am hoping it will be released before too long so I can get my order in.
The lack of storage is a slight disappointment, ideally I'd like to see an SD/TF slot as it is easier to get stuff off and on to the 'phone through my iMac, but I can live with that given how slim it is. I can also manage without the headphone slot, either using an adapter or bluetooth.
As I don't use my 'phone that much, just an hour or two a day at most, the battery life shouldn't be a problem for me either. I can generally go 3 days before charging my Huawei Ascend P6, which isn't known for it's stamina so I should manage at least 2 days with the R5.
Of course I'll need a case for it too...
I just get one I mean preordered on. Now it s aveiable in the EU with a bonus power bank ..
I pre-ordered mine yesterday too.
Looking forward to getting my hands on it.
According to the OppoStyle website, it comes with a case so that will save me trying to find something to house it in initially. I'll then have some time to locate something that suits my needs, assuming the 'free' one doesn't...
And it's arrived!
Beautiful device, wonderfully classy looks. Copying my music and pictures to it now...

I paid 399 Euros which worked out at 330 UK Pounds.
I got a free power bank which is VOOC compatible both for when it is being charged from the mains, and for when it is charging up a (VOOC compatible) 'phone, a European (two pin) VOOC charger which requires an adapter (not supplied) for UK 3 pin sockets. It also came with some headphones and Micro-USB to 3.5mm adapter as well as a clear plastic clip on back cover. (Not the 'leather' book style cover I was expecting)
att/straighttalk 3g
I got the 45 dollar plan from straighttalk.com which is using the gsm network of ATT . It works great, I also have the Nexus 6 and it has no signal from T-Mobile(sprint) at my house with NO wifi calling/txt when it said 100% of our new phones have it. I guess just not this new. I will wait, or maybe sell it. I really like the Oppo R5 more, because of its size, and because it gets actual cell reception(4barsH+). I still haven't gotten Gmail to work, Google Play services error, so if anyone knows, I would like to know. I read a msg from the phone itself that said it is compatible with most gs4 roms, so If I can figure that part out, I will be golden with lollipop. OK thanks.
From Singapore
I won the Oppo R5 at their roadshow. All I had to do is to smash walnuts with the phone.
The phone is really sleek. While there are no 3.5mm jack, the package includes the USB-to-audio adapter so you can plug your favourite earphones. The fast charging is awesome and helps to mitigate the small battery size.
I've written a review which you may check out here.
