Help ME Please OTA Update Has my phone stuck in a boot loop - Verizon LG G3

So i read a bunch of threads and people said the new update was fine and wouldnt try to remove root. So i decided to give it a go and see if that was true. Well when it rebooted it keeps rebooting into twrp no matter what i do. Im not good with linux commands but how do i fix this? Also i only have one file to be modified and thats for the dual window mod so i could dual window all apps. Is this part of the problem?
I found a thread that told me some command lines to restart the phone without needing to wipe but how do i get rid of this ota update?

While you can (sometimes) install an OTA while your phone is rooted, you should never try to install one when it is fully unlocked (i.e. - custom recovery installed). You edit seems to indicate you fixed it, but if you're still having issues I know there are steps to get out of the bootloop you're experiencing, I just don't have off hand where they're at. Bottom line, if you're root AND unlocked (running twrp), you should never take an OTA as there's no reason for it. You can install one of the fine stock-based roms that have been updated to the latest VZW software and have no risk in doing so. Just for future reference

Follow this command lines and that will or should reboot your phone to before you tried to install the newest update. The same thing happened to me with the last update. Those commands came in handy.

Pays to have a copy of LG Flashtool and the stock firmware

See the first post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2907508
If you have a USB otg cable, you can put the flash...zip file linked in the post on a flash drive, then tell twrp to install that to clear the ota.
Alternately, twrp has a small terminal emulator. Look at the part of the post with the commands listed. Only input the su and two dd command lines, in twrp.
After either of the above, tell twrp to reboot to system.
Once you can successfully get back to your normal system, either freeze "System updates...." or use a file manager to rename the two LGDMSClient files found in /system/app, then reboot your phone one more time.

cant root my samsung galaxy showcase sch-i500

Hello i am new to this website and i was wanting to know how to root my samsung galaxy showcase sch-i500 from c-spire wireless.I had my phone rooted before i upgraded to gingerbread the other day.I have found some directions on the website but i guess i am not doing them right.I downloaded the gingerbreak from chasefire and i scaned it with my phone but it is showing as wall papper on my applications any help would be appreciated and sorry for asking this question if it has already been asked thanks
Try this app
This is the easiest one I'd used to root my Fascinate I500, But remember to manually restart your phone by removing your battery and putting it back in. For some reason it's not doing that at the end of the process. Good luck.

Rooting i500
Did you ever get root enabled, I imagine you tried superoneclick and it failed. If you didn't get root I can help. It requires cwm and a root-package zip that you flash with cwm.
Problems rooting
I think it may have worked for the original poster but i am having BIG problems rooting my phone from cspire. The one click does not work and i have tried three other ways to do it. I am able to get recovery console access but past that nothing has happened. I followed the instructions at galay forums.net (wont let me post link but when i got to the part where i install the "su-x.x.x.x.zip" file i get the message "installed successfully. enjoy!" but when i reboot to try to go to the next step it always reboots into the recovery. Please help!

thats the exact setup I havei just got this phone asa replacement, did you use Odin to flash recovery then flash zip I linked up?I can send you what ever file you need to complete it(recovery root zip etc.) just lemme know

Yes I used the recovery flash (red clockwork mod) to flash the zip you uploaded for me. It says that it installs and that there are no problems but when I back out and reboot it will just boot back into clockwork rather than into the android os. The closest I've had it to booting right was using the su.x.x.x.x.zip file but when that was used my phone just boot looped (samsung logo boot up bid sanding logo for about two minutes reboot rinse and repeat)

Reaching out for help!

So I have my new HOX+ (AT&T). I got it boot unlocked, perma rooted...and the first thing i tried to modify was the fonts using the "font installer" app. Well this turned into a fiasco. it installed the font...showed a whole string of *insert Asian language characters here* on the status bar, went into a reboot...and never came back again. It boots to the White HTC splash screen, and just hangs.
At this point, I can reboot into TWRP recovery...but for whatever reason....my recovery isn't present. I don't know what i screwed up...but it isn't there. So I wiped everything...now I need an OS. Preferably a factory ROM....but I don't think anything exists yet for the AT&T model. And how can I get it on the phone!? I come from a world of GS3, where Odin could save the day...
Can anyone help me out/point me the right way?

I can USB mount the phone within TWRP..but when it shows up as a drive on my comp, clicking on it yields a "please insert a disk" message...
Wish I could help. I know how much your situation sucks. It's one of the drawbacks of hacking our device. The carrier or company will obviously not help since its our fault. Hopefully you got it working by now.

Still "softbricked".
I cant get my machine to recognize the device when it is on TWRP with the storage mounted, so I cannot get a zip file on it to do anything.
This is what I get when I launch into TWRP with the device plugged into my comp.

So the device wont appear under "My Computer", therefore I cannot copy any .zip file to the device, therefore, its a brick.

Being that I usually cant leave well enough alone...that will happen soon enough! I just gotta make sure I have a recovery available next time!

"Other" taking up a lot of space.

Hey there, I know this has been asked before because I've seen it but I can't seem to find it again. Maybe someone else can help out. I've flashed through a few ROMs and I've ended up with quite a hefty load of about 5GB of data that I can't seem to find. I don't have any nandroid backups on my phone at the moment. I've deleted almost everything I could find. I'm running NuSense Six m7 base. RC6.8. Attached are a couple screenshots illustrating my issue. What is taking up so much space?!

Are you sure you don't have any backups hiding....?
Current versions of twrp backups can be found, using a root enabled file explorer.
Check in /data/media/0/TWRP/backups
I'm using CWM but I didn't have any backups there. I know "Other" is supposed to store the OS, but is 5GB an acceptable size?

Not really, no.
The Rom should only use about half of that.
Which is why it seems you have one backup hiding somewhere.
If I were you, I'd back up anything important to my computer.
Then I'd wipe everything and sideload or adb push the Rom.
That should clean everything up.
Then just put back what you need or want.
This is also dependent on how many apps you've restored or installed since loading the base Rom.
Some games and various apps data can be rather large.

Yeah, Google it, it's actually really easy.
Just a word of advice:
Place a working rom.zip on your device. (as a failsafe in case sideload or adb push doesn't work for you.)
Practice at least once, adb pushing or sideloading a rom, prior to wiping the device.
That way you can be sure you have the process working before you wipe the device.
This way, while practicing, if you have any troubles with adb or drivers, etc,..you'll still have at least one rom zip on your internal storage that you can flash back to until you get it working.
I don't wanna see you end up with no OS and no working method to get a rom back on the device.
(only reason you would have any issues would be due to adb drivers)
Once you know the process is working with your PC setup and drivers, then you can wipe and sideload for real...

As the above guy says , you can't install update with a custom recovery . Just change your recovery mode to factory version and try to install it .
It was worked for me for a months before

Clearly the picture shows that it is the stock recovery, so I don't understand the last couple of comments about that...
OP: What update were you on? Did you download the system update from the phone? The first poster was right about changes made because changing some things in the system will create this problem on some phones. I would see if there is an RUU from HTC to update via the PC or via SD card (they don't sell that model here so not entirely sure which way they use for that model).

Sounds like a corrupted or incomplete download then. Without knowing which version and/or region the phone is from, then no one can be of much further help. It's rare that this happens on phones that have never been modified, but it's not the first time. Typically it is resolved by just running the RUU, but it's quite possible there isn't one yet for that device and update. If you do not know the specifics of the phone, then it is best to set up fastboot http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790 and boot to the bootloader and while connected in Fastboot mode to run the command from a Command Prompt: fastboot getvar all and post the results (leave out the IMEI and serial numbers).
This MIGHT be what you need: http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-816/general/updates-htc-desire-816wdual-t2850329 - IF it is the correct region for where your phone was originally sold.
General outline for manual OTA install:
Make sure to have the correct CID and MID on your phone. (see: fastboot getvar all output for this info)
Make sure to have the correct Stock ROM version software on your phone.
Make sure to have the stock Recovery installed. (you already have this so skip)
Copy OTA file to SDCARD
Boot to Stock recovery and once at the triangle, press volume up + power to get the blue recovery menu. Then select ‘install from internal memory’ (or something like that) and find the file.
Update should install and your firmware and software should both match the version of the OTA Update.
I have NO idea if the xda link for the OTA is the correct one for your phone, so don't blame me if you don't research to see if it is the one you need and you mess up your phone. Good luck.

Can't update rooted N10

I have been trying to update my phone but everytime I try the OTA it says installation failed. I ignored it for a few months now bc I didn't want to lose root after updating. How can I install the OTA? I am on MetroPCS (BE88CF)
I tried disabling AdAway thought it may be blocking the servers but that didn't work.

"Ok, looks like the download has failed/corrupted. Open the File Manager app > go to settings in the FM app and enable "Show Hidden Files" > then go to the device storage and look for a folder called ".OTA" - delete it and its contents. Then reboot your phone and try again."

Flash stock boot.img for your model and firmware. Probably gonna need the original recovery image too if you've got anything besides stock.
Relock bootloader using fastboot.
As long as there's nothing that can be checked back as invalid, you should be able to update your phone proper.

I tried reflashing stock recovery and boot images, but it didn't work. Relocking the bootloader shouldn't be necessary, but if it is I'll just go without updating. I don't feel like having to wipe out my phone to unlock the bootloader again every time there is an update.

Sadly it's a boatload of effort to get the update. Either you go back to 100% stock, or live with it.

I managed to get the last update installed by reinstalling 11.0.2 through the Oxygen Updater, then 11.0.3 installed fine. I was going to try to repeat this method with 11.0.3 to get to 11.0.4, but Oxygen Updater no longer allows me to download 11.0.3. I tried to sideload it and do a local update, but the phone won't find it. I can't even install it through fastboot commands because the OTA is incremental and the payload dumper won't work on it.
I was able to update by doing what you said and relocking the bootloader after reflashing stock and boot images. Relocking bricked the phone so I had to use the unbrick tool. Definitely a pain to have to do this every time, Then I ran into problems restoring my TWRP backup that I had to figure out lol. I'll probably just update every two or three updates from now on. Plus all this reflashing opens up more opportunities for RCS features to stop working on Google Messages because they are so finicky. Then my texts act up for 3-10 days until RCS starts working again. Luckily they reconnected right away this time.
Thanks for the help.
