Nice review. I have 2 of these units and tested them on the Nexus 5 since I don't have my 6 yet. I had no issues with Rinkge slim case either. I agree the charger is a great piece of hardware and I like the fact it is big enough for the Nexus 6. I do have a 2012 Nexus 7 and although it does not have wireless charging it still fit with no problems.

Yes, it's build quality is quite great. Nice to know it is compatible with most cases. Even very durable thick cases as well, although it seems to have issue in vertical mode with the bulkier types.

Recently bought this charger... Not sure how trustworthy this is will this mess up my battery? Anyone had any problems or complaints? I am using a nexus 6.

I bought this charger and was sent a used model. No plastic on the disc and scuffs all over. Very disappointed.

The plastic sleeve is on really good. I strongly suggest you to try to remove it again. It is not used. I'm 90% sure. that is the plastic you are seeing scuffed.

Enjoy it, great wireless charger.

Don't feel bad, I had a hard time getting the plastic off as well. I knew it was there though. I almost threw out the box as well before I saw this video showing the manual and soft cloth.

I also purchased this charger and I love it..It seems to charge the Nexus substantially slower though.. What's your guys thoughts on it?

Wireless charging is way more slower than using the Turbo or even normal wall charger.
The output with wireless is max 500mA so it will take long time if you are expecting to charge your battery full

It can take 2A input and output 700mAh at least per reviews. If you're getting 500mAh then you're limited by your power brick

Try a stronger adapter or something, because my phone charges in a few hours from 20%.
I can't tell you how fast because I'm asleep, but I know it doesn't take more than 3 hours.

seems I found the problem. Every Morning I wake up the battery is at 95% from the charger. I don't know why i stops at 95% and doesn't go to 100%.
I have restarted and will try again tonight.
any suggestions?

I woke up at 87% this morning as my phone was nearly full when I went to bed. More concerning is why I have so much battery drain.. But yes, once my phone reaches full charge it does *not* resume unless I remove it from the charger and put it back on. Really grinding my gears!

I know that, with some wireless chargers, there have been problems in the past with overheating. If you have to leave the phone on the Aukey Luna charger for a long time to get it charged, have you experienced any overheating issues?

Anker portable AC/DC wall charger w/ 2 batteries, 14.99 in US from eBay! MANY PICS!

Hello XDA. Another post to try and help the community. I just received my order from eBay and wanted to share.
So I decided to buy some extra batteries to have on hand so as not to run out of juice. In the process, I also wanted a separate charger to keep them charged. To my amazement, I found the Anker charger WITH 2 replacement batteries for $14.99 shipped from a California seller!
I also ordered a Hyperion desktop dock that has a built in charger for an extra battery. This dock should arrive later this week but also a California seller off eBay! I'll post when that arrives.
Anyway, back to the Anker. Packaging is nice. It's in retail packaging as if it's sold in stores. Comes with instructions too! The charger is universal and can charge many different styles of batteries. It also has a USB port to charge another item while it's charging battery. The other nice thing is it will charge from a wall outlet OR a car charger! The mini USB plug is also on the side with the USB port. I'm not so sure on the charging pins however as they seem a bit thin and will require to be lined up every time a battery is inserted. The pins slide from right to left to allow for different size batteries. That's another issue. The battery for the Note is so big that it has to sit off to one side to allow for the charging pins to make contact.
The batteries are also retail packaged and come with instructions. They are White in color... Matches my Note.... And seem about the same weight. They are listed at 2500Mah but I have yet to try them out for longevity.
There are many pics I've taken to try and paint a picture as to what you'll get if you decide to order. Hopefully this will help someone who may want or need them. Any questions, let me know!
Here goes:

The seller is laptopmate_usa. I have no affiliation with said seller nor can I vouch for them but I will say, shipped fast and free. They have a great feedback too. I figured it might be faster for anyone searching for this deal if I gave the name of the seller.
Hopefully these items will work and provide long lasting performance. If not, it was only $14.99.....

let us know the life for one full charge plz...
I got something similar for my Xperia Play last year. I only wanted the charger but it came with two batteries and was only £10 or £15.
I expected the two batteries to be useless but here I am a year later still using them, sometimes for weeks at a time as my primary battery as I tend to charge my phone a lot so it helps keep the official battery good for longer.
The batteries are of course not as good as the official one, probably around 75-80% as good but I have been very happy with them so far. So even if these batteries are similar that is money well spent in my opinion.
i got it at amazon at the same price 14.99$ (2 batteries and charger) with GUARANTEE 2 days deliver! i'm a Prime member. maybe due to popular demand, they raised the price to 16.99$ on amazon now.

i just use it like any other battery, charge it and use it.
after i got these inexpensive batteries, i havnt use the original samsung battery!
these anker battery last me the whole day just like original samsung battery. (i charge it when i go sleep).
the only time i swap battery is when phone battery is getting low or i forgot to charge it.
I also bought this same Anker deal for my Galaxy S -- off the same guy. They seemed to work as well as stock, though I didn't do any testing. They were supposed to be 300 mah bigger then stock -- I didn't notice a diference. Funny thing is it was more expensive for the batteries for my Galaxy S that are smaller then these haha. Anyways I'm not a huge fan of the charger. It says in the manual to not leave your battery charging for more then 24 hours, so I assume that means it continues to charge the battery after it reaches 100% and you'll want to take your battery off as soon as possible to avoid degradation. The charger is also made for any battery so it has these awkward sliding pins you have to set on your batteries + and - each time which can be a little annoying. Other then that, great buy.

This looks ideal for my needs.... I'm looking forward to any battery life info you can post, thanks!
I got these from a seller on Amazon for 8.99 I think it was. Couldn't go wrong. I actually get better life from these than my samsung battery!
Well, first charge cycle was in the 10.5 hour range with 3:25 minutes on screen. Charged it from %1 overnight so lets see what day 2 brings. I leave the wifi on as well as GPS and I'm in an LTE area with so-so signal. My average life is 12-13 hours with 2.5-3 hours screen so if I get the same oit of these, I'd be just fine with that.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
got the same brand for about the same $, but for the Infuse. The batteries and the charger worked great.
Ok well charge cycle 2 is complete. About the same results. 12 hours total with 3:15 screen time. This was what I was getting with the original OEM battery. Off to cycle 3!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
Day 3 brings 12 hour on batt with 3:45 hours of screen time. With crappy LTE signal , wifi and GPS on and updates every hour. Charged from %1 on the Hyperion dock I bought out of the phone. Will report tomorrow sfter 4th charge cycle. So far, so good!

what kind of charge are you pulling?
I know you didn't ask me, but it outputs 500mA per the specs from the paper on the box.
5V/500mA
It also cites 19V/1000mA but I have no idea how that is accomplished. I assume outside the US where they don't use 120V.

That is just too slow. Wireless charging would be ideal in the future when it becomes vastly available within open areas not only limited to the small charging pad, but as of now it just does not have any advantages in comparison to a standard micro USB cable; more faster, portable, direct access to storage while charging, and most abundantly available.
Well, it does have the advantage of being convenient. I would just drop it off the pad overnight.
Otherwise, yeah, it has some room to grow. A lot of the problem is that quite a bit of electricity is wasted currently.

Its more of a convenience than anything at this time. I've got 2, one sits by my desk at work, the other on my nightstand at home. Its great at work. If you get a call you can just snatch it up quickly without having to worry about the cord, and same deal at home, don't have to worry about breaking the USB port on them early morning alarms.

It's not that slow, why do people seem to keep complaining about it? If ur getting less than 5 hrs sleep at night, and ur battery is under 20% when you do shut down for the night, then yeah, you may have some difficulty with this.
Wireless charging has been just slightly faster than usb charging for me. I think that with that rate and the convenience added, it is more than worth it. I was concerned about it before I got the phone, but after testing it, the battery life is double what I'm used to, so I just don't need to charge it as often. I use my phone quite a bit through the day, of the charger at 5:30 this morning, no charging during the day and I'm still at 45%.

X2 on that, I'm pretty sure a lot of people have had to return/replace/repair/claim broken phones because of damage and abused usb ports, I know I have, just last week actually. And with this little usb flap, it looks so clean to keep it covered, I don't want to destroy the little guy.

Really is there any wireless charger available for any mobile phone..?
If the phone supports inductive charging and/or has an inductive charging back that can be used.
I ordered the LG wireless charger but verizon accidentally sent me the nokia one. I actually like the nokia one BETTER as it is smaller and is black in color. It seems to work well. It def doesn't charge as fast as my wired charger but wireless charging is very fast as well. I took a 10-15 minute shower and it went up 5% which isn't too bad.

Edit: I take that back I just ddin't have the phone high enough on the pad. It's now charging. Thx.
More OtterBox news: My fav ProClip just release a mount that apparently works with a Defender on which is a new one to me. I've always opted out on a case as they would never fit in my car mounts butthis may vhange everything. This one specifically mentions iPhone 5 but the sizes list seem to fit the DNA Defender. I have a question into them for help before I order.

What are the negative repercussions from constant or intermittent charging? I understand that it's detrimental to let the battery drain completely before charging, but constantly putting it on the pad only to pull it off again isn't harmful?

Just received Hyperion 6200mah battery

Just got my Hyperion 6200mah better from Amazon for about 20 bucks with shipping. Used a dremel to mod my otter box defender like in the other threads which worked wonderfully. Currently doing the initial 12 hour charge cycle. Will post updates to battery life during the first four or five cycles and then do a final update once the battery has been broken in after the initial max to min cycles. Hadn't seen anyone else post any stats or review this one yet on here. I have an anker 6200 on the way as well so I will compare the two once I receive that one as well. Decided to test these two before taking the plunge on a 106.00 mugen 6400. Hopefully I won't have a reason to buy the mugen after these two are broken in.
Cool, hope the battery is good
Would you mind posting a link for how to mod the defender, im interested but cant find the topic

I don't think it tells you an exact process on how to do it but has pics. The way I marked for my cuts was to put the Hyperion in and place the back cover over top, lining it up exactly where the tabs fit in then flipping it over carefully and picking the phone up letting the battery come out exactly where it sits in the battery slot. I then used a marker to trace around the battery and used a cutting wheel attachment to trace the guide marks then smoothed the jagged edges from the cuts with the flat edge of the wheel. After that, I just placed the modified back into the backing of the otter box hard shell making sure to line it up exactly and then trace the opening of the stock back and then cut the guide marks with the same cutting wheel and just kept sanding down the edges of the cuts until smooth. Hope this helps
Unplugged the phone after the twelve hour initial charge at about 10:30am and have been constantly browsing the Web and downloading with live wallpaper and screen at max brightness. It is now 3pm and I am at 91% battery. I received my anker 6200mah today and have it on charge so once I drain the Hyperion all the way I will be starting my test with it also. Getting bored of messing with my phone but I want to try to drain this battery so I can try the anker tomorrow but I don't know if I will be able to. Maybe I will just loop a hi Def movie for the rest of the day or something. I need to fully charge and discharge 4-5 times to get the battery to max capacity but at this rate that will take forever lol. Will keep updating as the day goes on. This battery seems to be a beast so far though

Pretty darn good value and quality for less than $30. I'm excited to see how long it will last me. I never have wifi so my usage won't be as good as some but I'm still optimistic.

That's fine and that wasn't a"Oh wrong section" comment. I was actually trying to find a review for somebody and couldn't but had to search general and accessories because you never know. But I checked accessories first because there's where it should be. So all I was saying is to put the review where it should be so it's easy to find.

It could just be because they don't actually have it listed as a feature. Either way, we'll find out in a week!
I talked to a csr and they have the wireless back plate in the system. So I think that pretty much covers it

If you're concerned about overnight charging, don't be. Wireless charging your phone overnight is basically the best use for wireless charging. If you're looking for a quick boost in power, you might be better off going with a good ol' USB cable. Each has their own pros/cons.
If you use your phone often, usb may be better, if you like to put your phone down, wireless charging may be better.

My main concern is only that in 6-8 hours of being on the wireless charger, will i have a full charge in the morning if i most likely am close to a dead battery by the end of the night? i can always plug it back in for 2 hours at my office on the usb3 into a wall and make extra sure i have a full charge before heading to the field at 1, which i wont have access to a charger until 9 or 10 pm. also curious if the wireless charging plate will work through the otterbox defender?

I loved wireless charging on my S3. I sit at a desk most of the day and run out into the shop every 20-30 minutes for something. I loved being able to set my phone on the desk and keep the battery topped off without added stress to the charging port by plugging it in and unplugging it all the time. I'm not sure if I'll go to wireless charging on the Note 3 since it add's a little thickness to the phone and makes it harder to find a case that fits. I'll make that decision later.

No wireless charging. You need the a backplate allowing you to enable it. Sucks but thats marketing for ya

I bought the wireless charging strip for my s4 9$ on amazon worked with the stock battery and back. But its too slow and requires I put the phone down for long periods of time so I just got extended batteries and swap them out every couple days. I imagine the note 3 will be the same deal

Where I use it
After trying various uses for the charging pad, I ultimately went with using it at work near my desk. It really doesn't add much more convenience in situation where you are going to be setting the phone down once and charging it for a while, like overnight on your nightstand. The real benefit is in a place where you would be picking the phone up and down a lot. I had the usb cord at my desk but I used to often forget to plug it back in when I would get back to my desk, even though i would set it down right near the cord. Now I just set it down on the pad and I rarely leave work at the end of the day with less than a full charge.

Incipio offGRID NO wireless charging?

Dear all,
I am looking to buy the moto z. But I am mostly interested in the official 'battery mod' from Incipio offGRID.
The manufacturer promises 'wireless charging' ability.
To my suprise there aren't many reviews of it and on amazon.com the reviewers say, this mod do NOT support qi (wireless charging).
What's true?
There is not an wireless charging.

You probably got the wrong one. I picked mine up from best buy (of course the online listing contradicts the actual item). http://www.bestbuy.com/site/incipio...ortable-charger-black/5437804.p?skuId=5437804
Edit: Forgot to add it has wireless charging on the box.
Edit 2: can confirm it works with wireless charging.

I have model MT-382-BLK. Picked it up at Bestbuy. It DOES have wireless charging.
If I'm not mistaken there is a MT-381-BLK that does NOT have wireless charging in it.
EDIT to add... it works very well too. When put on a charger you get a quick display showing the battery levels of both the phone and back in separate circles. When charging the phone is charged first, then the battery pack.
You can also charge the battery pack separately from the phone.

Yes. From Friday 6am to Saturday midnight with 18% battery left on my phone, for me me pretty good battery life considering all the things I use. Remember to set your mod on "efficiency mode" that way is better than "keep fully charged". Because once I use it as a normal external battery to charge my phone when it was 15℅ and "only" charged to 61% and the phone battery was extremely hot. Regards!

Good to know, I am just turning on this slim bby...
Any other battery mod recommended apart of this ones by Incipio?
For me it barely lasts a day with both of them. I am a really heavy user though with a lot of apps and games installed so I guess it might differ from person to person.

You have rouge apps draining your battery, or no life beyond the 5.5" screen you stare into all day. Either way I pity you. If I could I'd PM you a cookie.

Man i really wanted that cookie. But in all seriousness I use my phone casually every now and then. I really dont care about managing it because its supposed to be used as a smartphone and thats why it only lasts a day. I use gps high brightness everything you name it. So i guess its worth it at the end of the day to be able to use my phone the way its supposed to be used.

I prefer the Incipio to the Tumi. I have both but the texture and design of the Incipio are far superior IMO. I don't have the Mophie, but hear that it is noticeably thicker than the other three. The fourth being the Kate Spade that well, isn't for me.

I've seen all three and I prefer the Incipio as well. I'd be very curious to know what the sales numbers are for the three of them (my sister has a Moto Z and she bought an Incipio as well, not the Kate Spade)
