Used my VS985 while traveling (foreign sim) with no problems - Verizon LG G3

This may be totally obvious and non informative to some and for that I apologize, but I'm putting it out there anyways.
I recently traveled around South Africa for a bit and was able to use my Verizon LG G3 VS985 rooted bumped running official CyanogenMod 11 latest nightlies (via cyandelta) with absolutely no problems. I put the Vodacom sim (South African cell company) in the phone and it worked perfectly. I was able to get HSPA, 3G, and EDGE without any problems and no modifications made to anything. The phone did all the work automatically.
Supposedly there was LTE available in some parts of the country, but I could never get it. I tried switching APNs, changing radio radio bands in the *#*#4636#*#* and still could not get it. I was tempted to try and unlock the other LTE bands (as seen in a thread that I'm too lazy to look up at the moment) but I decided to hold off until later.
I also put the Vodacom sim into my LG G2 that was running a stock rooted something and that worked perfectly too(still no LTE). Was weird using that again though after the G3. Made me really appreciate the bad ass-ness of the G3.
Anyways hope this was not a waste of post. Rock on G3

Always good to hear a firsthand account from a traveler.
It would be useful if you could post what you used for APN entries as well.

All the APNs were auto populated and I just experimented with a couple different ones. Vodacom.sa and vodacom.lte.sa were the two that I tried. Ended up just keeping it on the LTE one hoping that it would pick up LTE at some point. Both APNs gave me similar performance and service. I never had to mess with the actual APN settings or manually input anything.

That's great, but pretty strange since the vs985 requires a new APN setting to be manually entered in the USA each time I switch to either my T-mobile or AT&T sim.

[Q] Optimus G Data on T Mobile driving me insane. Please help!

Hello all, so I recently consulted your fine website about purchasing the Optimus G to use on T Mobile here in Pittsburgh. It seemed to me that people were able to get HSPA+21 and LTE on the phone in the right circumstances, and that was good enough for me. So I bought the phone, unlocked it through cellunlocker.com and everything seemed to be going smoothly. I punched in the standard fast.tmobile.com APN address and I got 4G HSPA+ right away. I then proceeded to drive into downtown Pittsburgh, which now has T Mobile LTE, to see if it would connect. It didn't connect and stayed on HSPA. At that point I drove out of the city and went back down to EDGE and my phone no longer connected to HSPA anymore, only EDGE, until I went into my Mobile Network settings and selected the carrier directly. So I went into T Mobile to ask why my phone won't automatically connect to the most OPTIMUM speed and he couldn't figure it out. As a last ditch effort, we switched SIM cards and my phone automically jumped to LTE and his was stuck on HSPA. So hey, we figured it must be the SIM card keeping me from LTE. He gave me a new card, and it was on LTE until I left the store's broadcast radius. From then on, same story. The phone seems to pretty frequently get stuck on EDGE speeds and I contantly have to go and manually set the network to get HSPA+. What's more, I can't seem to get LTE under any circumstances. Can somebody out there please tell me what's going on? Do I have a defective phone with confused radios? Is T Mobile having a hard time syncing with my AT and T device? Do I need to do something with my APN or Mobile Network settings? Does this have anything to do with the way I unlocked the phone? Is it because the LGOG shares radios for LTE and HSPA or something that it won't default to LTE when it's around? I love absolutely everything about this phone and would like to keep it, but if it keeps behaving like this and won't even give me LTE or consistent HSPA+ then I might as well just get a crappy LG Optimus L9 that at least was designed for the network. Any insight you guys can offer would be much appreciated. Thanks so much!

Try flashing the 33-84 radio: http://www.mediafire.com/download/wec8eeext05x8ge/LTEhybrid33-84.zip
That's what I use to flash my LGOG. That's from the Nexus 4 radio thread, and from T-Mobile N4 devices. I was able to add a different APN for AT&T easily, maybe can do the same for your T-Mobile.
- Combines the latest .84 radio from T-Mobile N4 and .33 LTE support.
- The N4 Radio thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2087227
I see. Well seeing as I'm kind of a noob at this your post intimidates me a bit. How dangerous is it to put these N4 radios onto an LGOG? Will I risk bricking this thing or losing signal forever if I screw it up? Also, I'm assuming that the device must be rooted to do this? Also, if you think it's safe to try is there a thread or something that you can link detailed instructions for? I've never done anything like this in my life...I felt like a rebel just unlocking my phone! Thanks!

Not dangerous if you use TWRP. Just make a backup of your current stuff, and if it doesn't work can just restore. It won't hard brick your phone. And I've had it flash on more than one rom so far.
Root needed?

I see. Will the phone need to be rooted for that app to be used for the radio ROM? That's probably a silly question to ask on this website especially...but there it is.
I just got this phone and I'm loving it..came from the gs3. I was looking for a thread like this...hoping for a way to unlock the aws band..will root and flash tarp and try this tonight.

I don't get lte at all with the FAST apn, I get very fast h+ with epc.tmobile.com. It all depends on your area though, if your tmo towers are refarmed for the correct band that our att phones support.

would like to know if there's any update, thank you!
I have almost exact same problem. T-mobile lte not working for me, always getting the hspa+. I went to store and asked for a replacement sim card, then bang, lte shows up with the new sim card. Right after I walked out of the store and left in about 1 minute it's gone, forever. I'm not able to pick up any lte signal anymore. When I put this sim card in my ogp, it fires up lte right away.
I have read in another post people reporting they get lte with unactivated sim card but it went right away when they activated it. Really hope someone to explain for us how this situation is happening.
Thank you for all your great work.

I couldn't edit my last post so I'm putting a new reply to add some info.
Both my og and ogp have the same apn settings. I tested them using the same sim card.
I just put another unactivated sim card in the og and surprisingly it picks up lte immediately. I don't want to activate this sim card right now so I can't tell if it would go away if I activate it. I hope this info would help a little bit.

Help! I have the exact same problem. I have a brand new att lg optimus g and unlocked it. Popped in the sim and bam LTE! Ran a bunch of speedtests, drove to my friends house and it switched to 4g and hasn't come back. The guy at tmobile wasn't sure. ...any help ? I'm going to root this and try flashing a new rom...maybe radio?
Seems to be an issue with this device, perhaps it's doing something to the SIM cards (who the hell knows) because mine did/does the exact same thing, and here's my particular example:
When I first got this LGOG last Sunday (8 days ago) I put my T-Mobile microSIM in it (one of the TM9190 series SIM cards) and got LTE off the bat without any issues. I kept the stock ROM on here for the first day or so and never had any issues and then I got into doing the typical root/unlock bootloader/install recovery/backup stock ROM/flash custom ROM/etc routine and even after that I was still able to get LTE working almost immediately.
A few days ago I noticed that the LTE wasn't being picked up, and it hasn't since. I've flashed several radios for testing (.33, .48, .33-.84 hybrid, etc) and the ones that are LTE ready still didn't get LTE so I just flashed the whole thing back to complete JB stock (JZO54K, the last available LG build) and even that didn't help - I've yet to see LTE show up in any respect at all with that SIM card.
Now the interesting part:
I have another microSIM that had prepaid service a few months back, bought it at the same time as the one I use for my primary service - they were on sale from T-Mobile online for $.99 each so I got two and kept the other one around just to have it.
In spite of all the flashing I've done in the past few days, with like 5 ROMs tested, a kernel or two, and maybe 7 flashes back to pure stock using LGNPST and the LGE970AT-01-V20j-310-410-MAR-08-2013 ROM (the stock one), after all that flashing torture I put this LGOG through, as soon as I put that other SIM card in it - which is not active at this time - and powered up the phone I got an LTE signal right off the bat without a problem. Had already made the APN changes to fast.t-mobile.com so they just kicked right in and wham, 4G LTE right there on the status bar.
And yes, the SIM cards are the same "series" (?!?!) with TM9190 imprinted on both of them - they also have the same code on the front side (620048) and their serial numbers are just a few digits off in sequence - like I said, I bought both of them with the same order so, it stands to reason they'd be from the same batch.
Loaded a few web pages on the T-Mobile prepaid billing site (it's what comes up when you insert a prepaid already activated but not presently in use SIM, very limited but it does work), checked the system stats, everything showed me I was connected to T-Mobile with their LTE service, this phone, and that other SIM card including the status bar icon being the traditional 4G LTE one (big 4, little G, little LTE under it).
Then I rebooted the phone and that was that, the LTE capability just up and vanished like a fart in the wind, and I've done most everything that I could do - including reading a few hundred posts in two dozen threads - to get it functional again and it just doesn't work anymore.
I suppose it's not a big deal to me since T-Mobile's HSPA+ is fine with me, I regularly pull in 10-15Mbps on a speed test in various locations (was out earlier today testing stuff in the eastern parts of Vegas), but I am somewhat pissed that I am unable to get that LTE functionality working again.
Tried:
- a complete stock flash, several times, of the AT&T JB ROM, no dice
- all the currently available LTE-capable radios, no dice
- an AT&T SIM but it's not provisioned so it doesn't work at all (T-Mobile doesn't do that, hrmmm... their SIM cards work months later even after the number has been assigned to another customer, go figure)
- all the hidden menu options (3854#*970#, WCDMA automatic, tried forcing LTE only, several other things), no dice
- tried manually setting LTE only with *#*#4636#*#* using custom ROMs, no dice
- adding the LTE enabling lines to build.prop, no dice
Nothing works, so I'm only left to conclude that either a) T-Mobile is doing something funky (highly unlikely), b) something is borked with the phone (potentially true), or maybe c) the phone is doing something to the SIM cards after a reboot or any change in the network mode from LTE to anything else (leaning towards this possibility more).
I can't explain it, I can't figure it out, and I can't get LTE working anymore but as I said, the HSPA+ is enough for me as here at home the LTE signal is somewhat weak (1-2 bars at best whereas HSPA+ pulls in 5 bars and a -61dB signal almost constantly).
I wish I could figure it out because I'd like to do more testing with LTE enabled but apparently once LTE gets disabled for whatever reason after having it actually working, not once but twice now it just dies and never becomes possible again.
Stranger things I suppose...
If anyone does ever figure this fiasco out, post whatever solution you came up with or discovered so the rest of us can give it a shot as well 'cause I'd love to be able to enable LTE if I so chose. This is pretty frustrating in the long run - if it never ever worked at all that would be one thing, but having it work then suddenly just disappear never to work the same again, that's just pooched.
Slightly off-topic, but how's the battery life compared to AT&T? Or, in general, is it okay?

Thanks for posting your experiences. I've had the exact same problem, though I've never been able to get LTE working at all with my phone. I'm planning on taking a trip to a T-Mobile location within the next few days and see what they can do. Maybe they'll let me try putting my SIM in some of their display phones to see if I can get an LTE connection. Then at least I could probably rule out the SIM as the problem.

Make sure that your phone has the fast.t-mobile.com APN info in place (just create a new APN with that info if needed, maybe call it T-Mobile LTE and see what happens. My guess is if they put a new unused SIM into your phone it'll most likely kick into 4G LTE right from the start (as long as the APN is in place) and then at some point it'll switch to HSPA+ and it'll never go back like it has for those of us that have noticed it.
Who knows... it's probably just one of those things.

Could be...I've always had my settings on T-Mobile LTE, and I even called T-Mobile and confirmed every field in the settings with them. When I explained that I still couldn't get LTE, they had no other solution for me. The lady on the line didn't even know that LTE was faster than HSPA+, so I wasn't exactly expecting any sort of resolution. I think the reps in-store will be more suited to this type of issue.

Verizon I-545 with T-mobile sim Q&A

I know this has been addressed a few times, but with the new radio's and T-mobile running on LTE bands I feel it can be addressed again.
I have been running a T-Mobile sim in my Verizon S4 for about 9 months now having 90% functionality of T-Mobile apps and after 4.3 using LTE with a few MMS hiccups that seem to have been ironed out.I have ran just about every ROM available here on XDA, and even attempted to write my own Rom a couple times with limited success. And every ROM I have ran was written for Verizon, I just changed the APN settings, and sometimes had to flash some other items to get them working 100%.
I have a few things I am working on trying to "fix" such as Hotspot and a few T-Mobile only apps. I have convinced my phone it is a SGH-M919 changing a lot of info in the build prop, which allows me to use the T-Mobile TV app. But being a trial and error kinda guy I don't know how much of my editing was necessary, or if I actually needed to change more to allow me to use the hot-spot app. I have bricked my phone to many times to count trying out Radio's and changing setting in the ROMs trying to make my I545 more a T-Mobile phone than a Verizon phone.
I have seen alot of "ports" such as the 4.4.2 GE that I am currently running ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2643031 ). The first release I had amazing signal and no connection issues. But after the DEV (Danvdh) plucked away at it making it work better for Verizon and fixing a lot of Verizon data issues has started to have a couple signal issues here and there. Nothing that I would say broke the connection but definitely slowed a few things for me down.
Same for the INT build ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2552605 ) from jrkruze it works amazing then started to slowly after updates not work as well as it did from his first release. The ROM got better but my "connection" got worse.
So on to my question:
What is being changed in the ROMs that make them better for Verizon? I know that I am part of a small majority of people here running a SIM and a network that it was never supposed to run on, but it does work and I would like to make it work as best as it can. I know I can go back and use the older versions of the ROMs but I like the other changes and I like being able to update.

How do you have LTE working? Correct me if I'm Wrong but TMO has LTE on 700/1700, the i545 doesn't support either of those bands. HSPA+ with a 4gLTE logo maybe?

The AWS spectrum was unlocked for the i545 a few updates ago. Since TMobile LTE runs on the AWS band, a Verizon S4/i545 is capable of running TMobile LTE
AWS was unlocked with the MJ7 modem.
I get 29Mbps down 6.5 up defenitly not H+ the whole Seattle area is AWS so I am loving it. That combined with T-mobiles truly unlimited data I torrent on the go!

Unlocked T-Mobile LG V10 switched to AT&T, but LTE does not work

Hi, I have an LG V10 that I purchased from TMOBILE. I switched to AT&T, and brought my T-Mobile device with me. Everything works fine, but I cannot get 4G LTE service at all. I have tried 2 APN settings, and that does not help. I live in a large metropolitan area, and I know that 4G is available here with AT&T. Does anybody have any idea why I can only get 4G and not 4G LTE?
Thanks!
This happened to me when flashing a custom Rom, the fix for me was to change the network speed to 3g or 2g then keep changing Ap's until you see you are connected to a network. Once you see that you are connected, change it back to 4gLTE. Let me know if this worked for you.
This is the APN I use and got LTE to work. It's old APN but it works for me.
Name-LTE
APN-phone
proxy, port, username, password-Not set
MMSC-http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS proxy-proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS port-8080 (In order for MMS to work with adblock plus, I use 8080 instead of 80 because using port 80 will cause the MMS not to work)
MCC-310
MNC-410
Authentication type-Not set
APN type-default,mms,supl,hipri (hipri is what makes LTE to work. Without using "hipri" I only get 4G, not LTE. No need to use "fota". It is for tablets)
APN protocol-IPv4
If changing to this APN setting and you still don't get LTE, reboot the phone.

Wow, i was thinking i was the only one with this wierd problem, i had a lg g3 tmobile with this issue, when i was on wifi for large periods and the back to data, the 4g lte appears like it was working fine, but it never gave me access to inteternet, then i had to revert to 3g or 2g, and when it connects and works, i revert back to 4g lte and works fine, until i get wifi, and the same all over again, but this only happen to me with lg on tmobile, i had htc, samsung and this problem does not seems to happens with that brands, so i tougth it was the lg g3 itself and i sell it, but now i get a brand new v10 with tmobile and the problem is still the same, and i donĀ“t find anything on the internet about it, until i see this post, do you know why is this happen? im on mexico, and i use my phones whit telcel

when i hit the apn unlock option appears a message that tells me: "apn has been unlocked" or something like that, but the phone stills the same, do i have to do something else besides manually enter apn settings from my operator?
A word of advice I have an unlocked t-mobile lg v10 and I have had the same issue as you and believe me I tried every possible fix and nothing worked until I tried this fix ( put your sim card in another AT&T device in my case my girlfriend has an AT&T iphone 6 and leave it for a minute or 2 once you see the 4G LTE on that device remove it and put it back into your phone and you will have the 4G LTE all the time, of course you need to set up your apn but like I said I spent a whole month and tried everything before I came to that fix because nothing else worked) I hope that would help you.
I totally switched iphone 6 SIM on unlocked LG v10 ,,,but i saw LTE for 5sec and then back to 4G ...
Don't know if it will work ..
Just a network access problem, you should save yourself some time and just.... Call AT&T customer support?
Or hit the AT&T V10 forums for correct APNs. I'm sure you aren't the first person to deal with this issue.
Yes u can have 4G LTE ...just activate with a AT&T 4G LTE IMEI

Hi, I have an LG V10 that I purchased from TMOBILE. I switched to AT&T, and brought my T-Mobile device with me. Everything works fine, but I cannot get 4G LTE service at all. I have tried 2 APN settings, and that does not help. I live in a large metropolitan area, and I know that 4G is available here with AT&T. Does anybody have any idea why I can only get 4G and not 4G LTE?
Thanks!

i have the same senario...recently moved to AT&T with the UNLOCKED Tmobile LG V10 and every thing works just fine with AT&T SIM except no 4G LTE and when you asked At&T they will try to convince you to buy their device to get 4G LTE signal....it took me a while to figure it out that u can get 4G LTE on an unlocked LG V10 if u activate the service with any AT&T 4G LTE capable device IMEI..... One more thing.. u are on your own to provide the LTE capable IMEI to customer service. That means don't except to walk in to AT&T store and borrow the IMEI from their display unit..coz they wont let u do that.....
The T-mobile phones pick up perfectly on ATT, it's most likely an APN related issue.

RS988 weak cellular performance AT&T network

I've seen others post about this issue. Here's what I've observed, and what I just sent to LG. Be sure to let them know this needs to be fixed!
"I have owned a G5 RS988 (Android 7.0) for 3 weeks, and am disappointed in its cellular reception on Cricket Wireless, which uses the AT&T network.
The RS988 frequently drops from LTE to HSPA connectivity. In my area, using the same SIM card, other phones ALWAYS maintain an LTE connection.
I believe that the problem is the G5 will not use Band 17, even though the specifications list Band 17. Using a monitor app on a Nexus 5X and my G5 while I travel locally (both using Cricket SIM cards), I find that the Nexus selects from Bands 2, 4, 5 and 17, and stays linked via LTE. The G5 selects from Bands 2, 4, and 5 only, and frequently drops to HSPA.
I hope you already know of this problem (it is being discussed on forums frequently) and have plans to update the software to solve it.
Thank you for your attention to this issue. "
Cellular signal -LG G5 RS988 vs Nexus 5X - same time, same place
I'm assuming you've already set up and selected the cricket wireless APN as follows:
Go to Settings, More, Mobile networks, Access point names, and hit + to add the new APN as bellow, then Save it, and select it.
Name: Internet
APN: ndo
MMSC: http://mmsc.aiowireless.net
MMS Proxy: proxy.aiowireless.net
Multimedia Message Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 150
APN type: default,mms,fota,hipri,supl
APN protocol: IPv4
APN roaming protocol: IPv4
Turn APN on/off: ON
If you've already done this, then you can try a "Network reset" with your sim card removed. After the network reset and reboot, enter your WiFi password, turn off the phone, re-insert the SIM, turn on the phone, and verify the correct APN is selected.
Hope it helps!

Thanks for your idea, C64. I had clicked the configuration link Cricket sent to me when I first powered up with the SIM installed, and never checked the APN settings.
I did find some differences and will edit them. I'll post my results here.
I just noticed a new post in the AT&T LG G5 Q&A forum in which the writer is having very similar issues. Numerous "me too" comments follow the OP. I assume these folks are using the AT&T model, not the RS988, and they are on AT&T, so that seems to indicate the problem more wide-spread.
I hope the G5 is not so far back in LG's rear-view mirror that they have no interest in solving this!

RS988 Problems
I've also noticed this and contacted LG about it. Definitely has to do with the update from Android 6 to Android 7. I actually went so far as to purchase a second RS988 and not allow it to update, and if I run them side by side, the updated version won't see band 17, which is widely used in my area (by ATT). I expect this is what your seeing as well. I also suffer from frequent drops, because of the location of the towers and signal strength. I've contacted LG twice, both times they denied knowledge of the problem, and only offered to send the phone in for repair. Two weeks without the phone is what they said for timing. I just got an OS update, thought it might address this, but it didn't.
Let me know if you find an alternative to sending in for repair.
Thanks for the input. After seeing your results and several others, I have no doubt the problem is built into the Nougat image for the RS988, and possibly for the AT&T G5 version as well.
I didn't contact LG tech support, because I knew their standard response would be, "never heard of this problem, send your phone in for repair". (Of course, not criticizing just LG here, this is standard for all tech support these days.) But sending it in would deprive me of the phone for 2 weeks or more, risk actual damage in the process, cause me to rebuild my apps and phone after they reset it, and accomplish nothing except (maybe) receiving the phone back with Marshmallow on it. Even if all bands show up on Marshmallow, I really don't want to pass up on the Nougat upgrade - there are too many benefits to miss out on.
So I made sure to register a complaint at LG customer service: http://www.lg.com/us/support/chat-and-email-information. Don't know if it will go anywhere, but rep promised it would be forwarded up the chain.
I'm finding that where I live, I'm getting by okay on the mostly LTE, occasionally HSPA signals I'm seeing. But I had one instance of no cellular signal at all (neither phone nor data) while in a medical building in an important part of town. If that was not just a fluke, it is a problem. Still investigating.
This is clearly a software blunder, not a hardware problem. So it can probably be fixed fairly easily during an update. The question is, without a massive number of complaints, does LG care to fix it on a phone is no longer their flagship?

I thought you should get an H820 instead if you stuck with Cricket.

The RS988 is the unlocked North American model of the G5, and has all the sensors and specs to be fully compatible with the AT&T/Cricket network, as well as with Verizon, and mostly compatible with TMo.
Being unlocked gives it many advantages over the AT&T model. I've suffered being AT&T's hostage with 2 previous carrier-locked, flagship phones - bloatware, locked bootloaders, slow updates, and downright broken updates which weren't fixed for weeks. Guess I'm a slow learner, but I finally vowed "never again!".
The problem being discussed here is apparently a software error introduced with Nougat by LG. The phone has Band 17 capability, which is very important on the AT&T network. It apparently used that band perfectly while running Marshmallow, but does not do so with Nougat.

if this is software related, do you think trying a 3rd party rom could resolve the issue?

Possibly. But, as you know, the custom ROM's usually come with issues of their own - camera problems, GPS ,etc.
I've heard many reports that LTE was solid on the AT&T network before Nougat. I think I would find a way to go back to Marshmallow if it were a big enough problem for me. But 80% LTE / 20% HSPA is working okay for me, at least temporarily.

Thanks for pointing out that thread; I hadn't noticed. Yes, I installed 21c when it came out (a week ago?). I haven't noticed a change in behavior, but haven't been looking much either.
Sitting at my desk this morning, I'm still seeing HSPA on Band 5, where the Nexus 5X always has LTE on Band 17. So I doubt it's fixed, but I'll check it carefully while I'm out and about today.

Lg V30 No LTE, most of the time

So my lg v30 will connect to LTE on extremely rare cases, any other time it will not. I've been monitoring signal and events through Network Guru. According to it my LTE has a problem attaching. Whatever it is that means. So when it does connect to LTE and I move out of range of one tower, I get Tracking Area Update Failure. What could be causing this? How can I fix it. I've set the APN to the best of my ability, but currently I get message APN settings not available for this user. I can still add an APN and save it, but I have no idea if it actually saves cause I can't view the list of APNs. However even before this APN message I had these problems and I knew for a fact the APN was correct. Any help is appreciated!

So you have H931 converted to US998 and then with Lineage custom ROM installed.
But you are limited to T-Mobile coverage.
Do you live in good T-Mobile area? For instance my mother doesn't. There's no T-Mobile towers near her.
If you are in a good T-Mobile area, you have two options:
1) Ask in Lineage custom ROM thread how to edit/create APN.
2) For test purposes, sign up for cheap T-Mobile MVNO like Mint to see if you get better "T-Mobile" LTE signal. You're only using T-Mobile anyway... First sign up and get "new" phone number just to get a Mint SIM card for test purposes. If you like it, then port your real phone number over and let the "test" phone account die (it's prepaid, so not much money).
Or any T-MOBILE MVNO which allows you to "Bring Your Own Phone".

I have tried many different carriers, all the same no LTE but gsm/edge works fine. Today I got to my jobs workshop and LTE started working, but as soon as I got into the town I was working in I lost it, LTE attach failure, or Tracking update failure. I'll see what I can do on the APN side of things. But do you have any information as to why it could get LTE sometimes and then other times the LTE attach failure comes up? At this point I'm likely just gonna get a fi compatible phone (Edit: one that has the auto network switching, the v30 is supported just will only work on T-Mobile towers), but just for learning's sake I'd love to figure this out. I looked at the coverage map for T-Mobile and I appear to be in a good area, and both the shop and the town mentioned above seem to be as well. Its almost as if the phone struggles to switch between towers. (I'm no service expert)
