[ROM][CM11][UNOFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 11 - LS990 - Sprint LG G3

Hi all. I have managed to piece together a build of CM11 that has working radio, bluetooth, sd card, gps, etc.
Here it is. FYI, I am not really a developer, This is my first attempt to build a project. In order to get it working I had to use the proprietary blobs from CM12 - the muppets - and make a couple of changes to the cm11 source code. The rest is straight from the cm11 repo's. I will post what I did at a later time so hopefully we can get these changes into cm11 so it builds properly.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. Your changelog is whatever was merged into gerrit.
Yup. It's finally here. CM11 with basically everything* working.
*Working:
Pretty much everything:
WiFi
2G/3G/LTE
Camera (back and front-facing and LED flash,) camcorder works in 1080p, no 4k yet
Sound (little bit quiet)
Screen (duh)
Proximity, Accelerometer, Gyroscope
GPS (can drain battery really fast)
Bluetooth
SDCard read/write
*Not working:
Wireless Charging (it works but it's very, very slow)
NFC - (Might be a battery killer in current state, uninstall or freeze it in TiBu) <--Working on a fix
Installation Instructions:
*NOTE*: You must be Bump'd for this to work. This requires flashing via custom recovery
1. Download this and GApps (recommended PA GApps. For android 4.44. You can find on xda
2. Put both on Internal Storage or external storage
3. Reboot into recovery
4. BACKUP CURRENT ROM
5. Factory Reset/Wipe
6. Flash CM11 (I wiped all but interal and external)
7. Flash GApps
8. Reboot
9. ???<
10. Profit

Repositories are stock cyanogenmod with proprietary blobs from TheMuppets CM12 branch. A couple of edits to the ls990 device for cm11 - I will add later.
@invisiblek was pretty awesome in getting this going, much more credit goes to him than me, he really had the base for this, and now I just fix crap for the ls990.
@Berzerker7 @jholtom, shoutout because I stole your thread body.

Very nice to see. Congratz to you. Be nice to have another 4.4.4 build around here.

Yes yes yes my friend. Welcome aboard. I'm chilling with family at great wolf creek lodge & I'm a gonna flash just cause it is kk. And thank you sir for bringing it to us. Kudos
Edit - Up & running. Running really good I might add. Still in the process of setting it up? Great work. Thanks again

Rom still running great!

Everything is fine but screen is still off when I finish talking. I need to push power button and screen on and then end the call.

No one is experiencing random app closes ? I open apps and they randomly restart or just close with out any notice of force closes. For example instagram will randomly send its self to the top of the feed when scrolling. Any solutions to this issue?

"Everything is fine but screen is still off when I finish talking. I need to push power button and screen on and then end the call."
This is an issue with just about every AOSP rom available at the moment. Probably gonna have to wait until someone manages to find a fix for the proximity sensor (someone submitted a fix and from what I read it still didn't fix it, yet). Once that's done it will likely be a simple addition to this rom. Sit tight. Once the holidays and their associated hangovers pass I am sure some more fixes will come down the pipeline.

seems this rom has the same issues as the cm12 builds... where the default SMS app won't send texts....
but thanks for the build.... pretty solid otherwise so far

When I used this rom I used the textra sms program and was able to get all texts working, mutlimedia, etc. Unfortunately, my ls990 gets blue screen of death on any of the cm11 or aosp based roms currently, which is a known issue that only affects what seems to be a small numbers of users that have what seems to be slightly different hardware boards.
I will do an updated build once this issue gets sorted out. Everything else seemed to work pretty well on this rom once you have textra installed. Advantage over cm12 is xposed modules work fine. Also I didn't have any network issues that I seemed to get while streaming with some of the aosp roms.

well i've been using this since the 5th of February (so almost 3 weeks now) and while i've tried some other roms.... i kept coming back to this one. like you said textra replaces the standard sms app just fine..... and i've had great battery life as well as no crashes whatsoever on this rom. so, thanks again for this one.

actually i did finally get one kernel panic the other day.... just while the phone was sitting idle.
edit-
i'm on the cm12 builds now... i'd go back to this if there was an update to fix sms though (current cm12 builds it does work on) but i crash a lot more on cm12 than this build ever did

any chance for an update to this one?
just went back to it from an old backup due to cm12 just being too unstable....
this build would be almost perfect for me if the default texting app worked
battery life seems much better on this cm11 build vs. the newest cm12 alphas
thanks

I am waiting on a new build for cm11 until we get bluetooth issues ironed out. I don't think there have been a whole lot of changes to cm11 since my old build. The changes that we need to make this more stable are the bluetooth proprietary firmware / drivers it seems that the devs have yet to figure out.
Once we get this working fully I will do a new build of cm11.

Is there an update to be had here? Or has everyone moved on to CM12?

Before you install CM-10.2: Preparation (First three are optional. If you want to start fresh, these can be skipped)
Install AppBak from Market, run it and save a list of all your apps.
Install SMS Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your SMS history.
Install Call Logs Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your call log history.
Boot into ClockworkMod recovery. Make a full backup. You will need this backup later if you decide to go back to your previous ROM and data.
WARNING: Many apps will Force Close crash if you restore data from a previous ROM.
Install
Use ClockworkMod Recovery.
Warning: Only use this recovery to flash CM-10.2. Otherwise, you risk bricking your phone!2
Wipe data and cache.
Flash cm-10*.zip.
Flash gapps*.zip. You must flash gapps after every upgrade to CM10.2 since /system is formatted, wiping your previous add-ons.
Reboot phone.
After you setup your Google account, reinstall the three apps from Market in order to restore most of your apps, call log and SMS history.
Warning: Do not restore backup data of system apps!
If you restore a bad backup with cached settings in telephony.db in data/data/com.*.*.telephony it can break MMS.
It seems that restoring backups can also break Calendar sync.
Upgrades
Upgrades from previous versions of CM10.2 are the same process as install, except you do not need to wipe anything. Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to even wipe cache and dalvik-cache when upgrading between CM10.2 versions. You only need to wipe if you are doing a major upgrade, switching to a different ROM entirely, or attempting to fix bugs caused by bad backups or corrupt app data.

This is quite off-topic but it has been mentioned several times before that dual-sim support has never been a feature available in stock android roms and therefore manufacturers have to code their own drivers and interface to utilise dual-sim features. Unfortunately, that means it's not openly available for use by others and therefore makes it very difficult to cook custom roms which support dual-sim.
You will probably have to wait for a highly skilled developer to come along, have the device, and be willing to spend time to port it. The previous developer who promised to try has not gotten back to the user's for a very long while after opening a thread asking for testers.
Thanks arco68 amazing work, look forward to the stable version

Everything works for me. Have not tested wifi, Bluetooth and usb tethering is good.
Only problem i have is few random restarts. Maybe twice a day. But the battery life, low ram usage and smooth performance is so excellent, it doesn't bother me.
All and all, very stable and functional for nightlies.
Minor bugs:
Back and menu button lights up every time you touch the screen, only supposed to light up when you touch then.
In the radio app, volume buttons doesn't work if phone sleeps.
Using 041113 cm nightly, allot may have changed since

This ROM and S4 Mini 3G.
I have strange proximity sensor behavior. It start to power off display every time not only in call mode. Reboot helps but after few hours things bad again. Very annoying. No noise in dmesg or logs ((
I'm not sure if this problem related to 3rd party dialers or not. Started to uninstall it all one after another with no help.
Every other thing works perfectly well.
@arco68
I'm using the release candidate 1.0. I experience one major bug, when the phone sleeps, automatically or power button induced, sometimes the screen does not want to wake up again, and the only way to get it going is to hold the power button to which the phone restarts.
The reason i say the screen is asleep, when radio or music is playing, it continues playing, screen just doesn't want to wake up. Its not always, maybe 4 times a day.

Sporadic Reboots on 10.2 Stable
I have a permanent issue of random rebooting since 10.1.3.1 including nightlies, aside from the heavy battery drain. Here's the log cat after the last reboot I've taken immediately. You can find it as attachment...
EDIT: Whatever, I upgraded to CM 11 nightly (Kit Kat 4.4.1). There hasn't been a sporadic reboot so far. Highly recommended.

Q&A
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why don't I have root access after installing OmniROM?
A: OmniROM does not have an official, prebuilt root method yet, so you'll just need to flash SuperSU in recovery and you'll have 100% working root access. SuperSU can be found here: SuperSU
Q: Where is <insert feature here>, like CM/AOKP/PA/etc have??
A: Omni is still very early in development, but moving at an incredibly fast rate. New feature, bug fixes, and device support are added just about daily. Check it out here: OmniROM Gerrit Review for the latest and greatest
Q: How do I start/stop screen recording?
A: Volume UP + Power will start screen recording. Simply drag the notification bar down and click the button to stop.
Q: HALP NFC doesn't work!!
A: We know.

builds up now sorry sorry
I've had Omni on my flo for a while now and love it, I got excited when I started seeing jf come up in gerrit and was wondering when this day would come. Thank you for working towards supporting this device!
edit
Just did a fresh install of this ROM. Couple issues I've already come across..
My screen after a restart won't go to sleep after the specified time or by pushing the power/sleep button.
Not sure if this is related, but I have enabled active display and got an FC error upon my first notification and had to battery pull.
Update: After turning off Active display I can now put my phone to sleep without issue.
So... I've read the 'this is what custom roms should be' press release three times now, and I still have no idea what differentiates Omni from other ROMs. Is it a custom interpretation of AOSP code, like Cyanogenmod, or features ladled over Cyanogen code, like most other ROMs? Does it offer any of the fiddly knobs of Paranoid Android, or is this going to be a feature-avalance like AOKP or PAC?
I know things are still early days for Omni, but what am I looking forward to when I flash your ROM?

OmniROM is based on straight AOSP code, if you look in the source on github, you will see that VERY few repositories are actually forked from AOSP at all (put external in the search bar for Omni's public repos). Omni is designed to have many features and options that are all able to be toggled by the user. Omni is about choices, and giving the end-user the choices to make the ROM function the way that THEY want it to. 99% of features added to OmniROM come with a toggle to turn it on or off, hence "choices" :good:
The changelog pretty much gives a breakdown of all the features, because since the first 4.4 build, i did not make any releases until we fixed some major issues. This ROM is just about 100% stable. I say "just about" because if I reported my actual experience, which is literally ZERO issues, on nexus 5 and galaxy s 4, people would hang me and start bombarding me with "well what about this error I have that no one else does".
Best advice, make a backup and flash it. if you don't like it, then just restore your backup. no harm no foul. but i'm willing to bet you stick on this for a bit. There are a ton of features that are unique to OmniROM that other ROMs do NOT have.
also, pretty HUGE status update will be coming tonight (hopefully) as well
I'm freaking stoked I've been wanting to try OmniROM!

I've been hoping that someone would bring this over to us so I could try it out. Been running it most of the day today with almost no issues. Haven't really had a chance to play with it a lot, but so far it's been pretty solid. It did lock up on me once when switching to ART (using the Banks gapps), but after reflashing with PA gapps and sticking with Dalvik I haven't had any issues. Battery life is solid, and having the extra kernel tweaks with the built in kernel is much appreciated. Looking forward to the updates, thanks!

No, Xposed Frameworks mods will be up to the user to install and implement as they see fit. Generally, I think Omni has a fairly good amount of features already implemented, all with toggles to activate/deactivate, but as always, Xposed will be able to offer a little bit extra of things that we won't support out-of-the-box. I would be wary of using Xposed though, as you will need to ensure that the mods you are installed are updated for 4.4 Aroma will NEVER be implemented into OmniROM source, as it is not 100% stable and is not supported by all devices that Omni supports, and therefore would cause serious, serious issues. I'm sure people will make their own kangs of this eventually and there may be one with Aroma installer, but this will not ever implement that.
Also, some things to look forward to in the near future:
Omni File Explorer - OmniROMs native root file manager
native root support (you will no longer need to flash SuperSU in recovery)
OpenDelta - Omni's OTA Updater
NFC fix *properly*
Multi-Window
a big surprise in the next few hours

It did lock up on me once when switching to ART (using the Banks gapps), but after reflashing with PA gapps and sticking with Dalvik I haven't had any issues. Battery life is solid, and having the extra kernel tweaks with the built in kernel is much appreciated. Looking forward to the updates, thanks!

I would be VERY cautious of using ART as of now, it is still highly experimental in AOSP source and google needs to make a lot of improvements before I would use it standard
Thanks for all these update, it is greatly appreciated.. looking forward to the surprise tonight!
OMG we have Omni! Thanks so much! Let you know how everything's working tomorrow... glad to see your from Philly too :thumb:
Could disabling the 3-dot overflow be possible in a future update since this device has a capacitive menu key?

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first created based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean because of curiosity. In the early days, it was just a one man show on one device (EVO 3D). However, many others have joined the project since and it has grown a lot. We have seen a wide variety of talent contribute to this project of ours and many of our contributors have gone on to help other projects, and that is ultimately why we do what we do.
Once Jelly Bean was over, we decided in Kitkat to move to a new base, which was OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting because it challenged us to see what we could with something different.
With Lollipop, we have moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. With that said, it has been an awesome learning experience and it's still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward.
Few more things we will say is that we don't accept nor ask for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc.....
All we do ask is that you search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

Thanks a ton.

Very impressive ROM. Lots of features included. Great work. Doesn't have the backlight/screen flicker issues some of the other lollipop ROMs have. This is my new daily driver, only problem is you can't record video still but I'm sure that'll get fixed sometime soon.

How do i flash it using Multirom?
tried but stuck at Sony logo.
Thanks.
Sounds cool. Will ya update features and bugs in the post, soon?
ambient display FC ....
bugs?
1. Google music stopped playing music after the first song played. After a reboot songs on app will disappear.
Used an app to scan media but still song won't play and will promt "DSP manager stops responding"
2. Google Play hang ups after google music bug happened
3. H+ icon on signal was a bit overlapped ob signal icon
4. No option to transfer app data to microSD
5. Some hang-ups on system and FC's on some apps.
6. Built in keyboard : popup characters are not displayed correctly
FYI
last thing, can I install other kernel? EX: Zombie Kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z-ultra/development/anykernel2-zombie-t2926584
I flashed the ROM a few hours ago but with ZombieKernel instead of the CrDroid one attached. Everything seems to work well, the only detail is that I lose my WiFi connection sometimes or rather, it is connected but apps claim that they are unable to access the Internet. Turning it off and then on again fixes it.
The other item I noticed is that nothing happens when I try to add quick toggles.
Beside those minor things, everything seems to be smooth and stable.
I like all those Lollipop ROMs that arrived recently and it is a great performance improvement over KitKat even when I used optimized Bionic/Dalvik.

I did this 30 minutes ago and - knock on wood - it seems to work now (had the device on sleep while taking a shower and it still had WiFi connection):
Copy all the files in "/etc/firmware/wlan/prima" to "/data/misc/wifi/prima" and Reboot. (Don't forget the permissions)
Otherwise, it feels like Dirty Unicorns is a very promising project. Perhaps my WiFi problems was router related since my C6802 (Validus Lollipop) started to act up all of a sudden WiFi wise so I made a "Norwegian Reset" of the router and it seems to be OK now.
The only thing I hope is that future builds can be dirty flashed since the lack of working Titanium Backup (app restore) is a bit annoying. Some users recommended the zip method and I will consider that option (make a flashable zip), which could work since my C6602 is still running KitKat. I.e. that I restore my backup on my Xperia Z, make flashable zip out of it and then flash it on the two Ultra's I have.
It seems like the WiFi fix did it. It seems to have a reliable connection now. I also noticed a lack of APNs but put my T-Mobile one in from my head and LTE works great. An excellent ROM simply put.
Hi
Is this ROM compatible with MultiROM (does the kernel have kexec hardboot feature?) or do i need to flash the Zombie LP Kernel for compatibility with MultiROM?

I am afraid that the WiFi bug is still affecting me. I tried to make calls through Hangouts Dialer now and they simply timed out. The WiFi indicates connection but the sound disappears and a check with the web browser give errors about "no connection".
Since I like the ROM very much, I will flash it on my C6802 "Test Device" and return it to the C6833 when I see that the WiFi bug is killed.
It seems like it somehow "looses" the connection intermittently.

Yes, I will do it for SM-T325 as it is working pretty satisfactorily and I got the keyboard bug fixed in resurrection remix rom for our device. I am happy and little relaxed. Will be compiling a build in a day or two. Cheers, Sumit
Looking forward to trying this one out tonight!
Did you create your own device files for this rom or did you use pre existing CM12.1 device files?
If you made your own, have you published them to github?

oh here we go again..no offence
just hope all if ok with whatever Sumit has done as there are almost ZERO developers here...saw something similar happen on another device..and the lone developer was ejected and that was it...leaving behind some silly board that remained occupying space on some server somewhere with no support whatsoever
anyway hope all is ok...Sumit has been doing a great job AND DOES NOT EVEN HAVE A DONATE BUTTON..unlike some I have seen esp from my Note days who just create repositories and links to other folks works and collect 27000 thanks (literally) and put up a donate button while saying donations are not needed (really?)
again no offence to you if you are trying to help him out here (some folks just needle others for the sake of it..not saying you are)

Hi There,
I am using the same CM device and kernel tree that it available @ https://github.com/cyanogenmod
I only changed some make files to compile this and other roms i wish to bring in the future. Since I intend to bring many more roms for our device, I dont want the extra hassle of pushing it to github. Honestly, I dont even know how to do so. Have successfully compiled temasek, blisspop and xenonhd using the same device and kernel tree for our device.
Hope that puts everything to rest.
Cheers, Sumit

Thanks hope more devs can join in here..meanwhile I could not even get the framework-res.apk to install (apktool if...)...lol
EDIT managed to get past the brut error (whatever reason was failing on install on earlier cm12 framework-res.apk install..in decompiling latest 4/14 cm12 mms it appears this code is now there (was not a week or two back unless am mistaken)

Hello Sumit..thanks for your work. Your ROM works very well (for the things I use for, scores of apps and basic calling, sms, mms, internet..no Netflix though or any audio stuff)...
few things noticed..not sure if I missed something as I was doing this at work (there did not seem to be options for adding tiles to the pull down quick settings)...EDIT...duh...found that!
also when trying to change lcd density it came up with preset options which is fine but no custom (when I did the change through build prop editor and rebooted, I then saw my new density that I had put in the editor now shown in the list of densities, which I then had to choose to enforce it)...
a third thing is that it crashed suddenly when barely setting it up (was in playstore)..now this is something I have experienced with the Cm12.1 (not cm12) builds (random crashes here and there) (have also had the screen go off into deep sleep a few times on cm12.1-the device could not be woken and had to go to recovery to start things again..have not used this build long enough to see if it happens but suspect it could or maybe inherit this from cm12.1 (again my suspicion)...
fourth thing interesting is that if you recall the CM package that I mentioned about having data auto on off for mms send/receive? It has just made its way into the latest 4/15 CM12 (not 12.1)...I have been checking both versions for some time almost every 2 days so know this just got inserted into CM12 (do not recall seeing it in 4/14)...it is not in cm12.1 (and hence? not in your build)...I tried it out on the 4/15 build and it works like a breeze..attached here is the screenshot of the mms data options from the 4/15 cm12 nightly for the mondrianlte. With that and the fix for the echo (not speakerphone yet though) the CM seems to be ready in my world for daily use.
EDIT think this auto data on off option feature may have come in earlier and I simply did not notice..can't be sure am second guessing myself now..the apk and mms service are identical in size going back to 4/11 and 4/10 is when I may have even looked at in detail in terms of actually running it for some time..but definitely cm12.1 does not have that feature yet
http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/67611
minor...crdoid had an add power menu or add go to sleep (think it is the latter) button in the nav bar..nice to have-understand maybe lot of work for that. not a big deal.
So far, this is what I have to report. Thanks for your work. I will keep checking the build again later tonight hopefully. Appreciate if you could look into the above.
copying and pasting the mms.apk and the mmsservice.apk from the priv_app folder of one of the latest cm nightlies to the crdroid march 23 t-325 LTE rom (which is 5.0.2?) and then setting permissions works..no issues (needless to say but I tried-g they do not work on cm12.1 or the 5.1 builds) as of today 4/16 still no mms auto data on/off option in cm12.1 mondrianlte
unfortunately cannot decompile the cm12.1 mms.apk as cannot even install the framework-res.apk resources...get apktool brut error..this is a known issue here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60000934&postcount=94
EDIt
found this it works to install and decompile 5.1 apks
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59436776&postcount=2812
A little teaser for all paranoid android fans out there.
#stayparanoid
since 12.1 seems to have not yet merged the mms mod (as in cm12) I took the mms apk and mmsservice files from this S3 build that has it fixed...and put it in cm12.1 latest 4/20 build and it works! sms and mms (auto data on off for send/receive) Now will put it in your Euphoria build later today.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...cial-cm12-nightlies-d2att-4-7-t3075452/page13
edit
one thing latest cm12.1 builds (well at least 4/17 and 4/18) have exchange email sync error issues (non stop popup)...4/16 and earlier work..not sure of 4/19 and 4/20 to see if they fixed anything
Hi! Wanted tot try this today but the gapps link show an empty webserver directory. Could you provider the correct version please?
Thanks!
Rom update
Hello Friends, its time for an update,
Download: Euphoria-OS-1.1-mondrianwifi-20150422.zip
Changelog: Android base updated to Lollipop 5.1.1_r1, added governor zzmoove, intellidemand, smartmax, intelliactive and many more also included scheduler ZEN, VR, SIO, FIOPS in the mix. This is just an experiment. Using default CM kernel tree and just added some governors and schedulers. THATS ALL, nothing more, nothing less.
Also Gapps link has been updated in the OP.
Cheers, Sumit
Thanks Sumit. Now for my usual request (sorry) but can you have one for the t325..or perhaps have a flashable patch if possible? Thanks (either Euphoria or Resurrection...appears Resurrection has more options? ..wondering but maybe your Euphoria is more up to date) anyway thanks for your work! You almost alone are keeping this development area ticking!
Sent from my SM-T325 using XDA Free mobile app
Rom works fine
Even after dirty flashed from cm 12 with wiping system and cache only.
Used slim gapps .
Only intelliactive governor gives me random reboots.
I havent tried others yet
Thanks
Will this work on T520 10.1 ?

It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). Lineage OS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for Lineage OS is available in the Lineage OS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to Lineage OS, please visit our Gerrit Code Review. Your changelog is whatever was merged into gerrit.

Great to see CM14 for one Max already here, thanks Flyhalf205
This will be my first flash on a One Max. I'm coming over from a Note 4 (& a S4 before that) on Sprint. I've only been rooting for a few years, but it still gives me that little bit of a rush cause ya never know it, it could brick, bootloop, etc, lol. I've been beta testing for Emotion AOSP for (I dunno), I'd say what feels like a year (it's been Sooo much fun. I'll miss it). Also helped out on XneonHD while it was in operation. Anyways, y'all bare with me & my inexperience on this phone. I've always enjoyed CyanogenMod builds, they're fast, clutter free (I could go on & on). Anyways, wanted to make my presence known, say hey & thank you for the hard work. I look forward to playing around on a phone other then Samsung (it's always fun tryin out somethin new) & getting to run CM is always a plessure.
Overall working properly, bugs found so far :
- Live Display Not Working
- Bluetooth not working
- Camcorder not working
I will report if I found any other bugs.

What build were you on? There are two international builds posted. It sounds like you were on my first build I sent you. The second build should work fine.
Verizon version gets LTE but service bar fills up then its empty and speeds are alot slower than expected.
