[Q] Signal Problem

ever since i have had my hd2 ive had problems with it, but most seem to have faded away as recently its become pretty stable and fairly good on battery (ever since installing 'NoData')
But the one thing thats still with me is my signal gremlin
when the hd2 is sitting on the desk i get 3-4 bar signal, but as soon as i pick the phone up my signal lowers untill its no longer connected to the network (voda)
im still on the stock rom and radio 2 0 1 51 22~2
any advise?
upgrade the rom/radio
im already on the latest stock rom which is - ROM version:1.72.161.3
is it possible to upgrade the radio on a stock rom, or does it need a custom rom?

Poor Signal,Battery Drain and Low Vol going to a bar...

Hello
got myself an AMAZE well it well built brick ^_^ having the Energy Rom june 21th on it the
Kernel 3.0.16-ga4b83c
[email protected] #1
Baseband 1.14.550L.17DC_30.78.550L.15D
i having 3 main problems :
1. Poor Signal -my crush has SGS2 stocked on 3G network she got full bars on her phone
and mine keeps "playin" some time signal is gone and going back to 2~4
what can be the problem?
i'v changed the band to WCDMA only...same problem.
the Amaze is using the back cover as an antenna so it seems...
when im take it off the signal drop to 0 and the wifi signal dropped to 0 bars.
2. battery drain - well...the Energy rom is battery wise but i have massive drain from 100% to 61 in less then 2hr,i think the battery reading is wrong.
3. Ear Piece Low Volume - during a call i can hear clearly but the volume is too low is there any way to increase the volume a bit?
*bonus Q* the camera app in not the stock one (some kind of blue square) how can i revert back to stock?
^_^ hope that u can help me out .
regards

I won't be able to give you a complete answer but a part (big part) of the battery drain may come from the low signal problem: the antenna is using maximum power to keep the connection up so it draws a lot of battery.
For the signal problem was it the same with the stock ROM or with another baseband?

i bought it 2hand it came with soff root and custom rom.
NRG's ROM is having battery issues from what I've been reading. ICS is known to have some signal issues. What is your build version?
Settings -> About Phone -> Software Information -> More
I have no issues with the volume. Did you increase the volume as you are on the phone? lol
Also if you think it's a battery cover issue, call HTC and they'll send you a replacement for free under warranty.

Than try another rom, you got nothing to loose and it will confirm what we say.
For my part the only problem I got with ics is my wifi at home which takes 15-20 minutes before being found by my phone everywhere else it's OK. The cellular network is as good as on GB and for the rest I just love the ROM I'm on actually.
im on Custom Rom with EXT4 Touch RECOVERY i just need to download an CR put it on my SD card
and install it via the EXT4 ?
its the first time for me of flashing kernels and $hit$
Yep, pretty simple to flash a ROM while s-off (and supercid if you use a rom based on another carrier than yours) just download it, it will already be on the SD card on /sdcard/Download or /sdcard/sd-ext/Download depending on the settings.
Once the download is finished just reboot into recovery, make a backup first after this full wipe is a good idea though not always necessary and then you select install a zip from SD card and you just browse to the downloaded zip.
I am not absolutely sure of the following but I think that the only reason why it could fail is that the ROM you try to flash is not from your carrier and you are not supercid. It would be a good idea to check if you are supercid before flashing.
Just ask how to supercid if you are too lasy for reading and have no idea of what is fastboot.

ICS | JB: WiFi reception

Hello guys.
How is you WiFi reception using ICS or JB (stock | custom)?
I ve noticed that with ICS stock my WiFi reception above 30m (dist x) is very poor or none (AP is behind house wall, no obstacles).
With HC3.2 on 30-35m (dist X+) i had valid and working WiFi reception (AP on same place, same conditions more less).
On same spot (dist X+) my laptop receives healthy WiFi signal.
So i ve come to conclusion that ICS rom does not handle WiFi capabilities of our GTab as good as HC did.
Your meaningful comments and suggestions are very welcome.
Cheers,
melodystyle2003
*bump*
So i only have this issue or not?
Problem solved after formatting/wipe data, system and dalvik and flashing JellyBeanRom ICS v6 via CWM 5.8.3.1.
At same dist X+ spot i have now ~25% signal strength!

[Q] Atrix fatal Wifi problems...

I am not so noob, I was visiting these sites a lot in the past, but then forgot my user/pass... Become bored with the all the rom things...
Now I have ATRIX 4G CM10 jellybean "Someone's ROM" and a bit stupid question (damn 10 posts quota)
Is ATRIX 4G prone to a hardware WIFI fail in general and how does it manifest itself ?
I have a friend who doesn't want to do the flashing of different roms (too scared), his wifi started to loose connection out from nowhere, then it totally froze the phone, now he has to remove the cmos 3.5v battery in order to start the device, this apparently switches off the wireless setting (yes, he is a weird one) and he is convinced that the error is hardware's fault, and that ATRIXes are prone to this... His radio is 30p, 2.3.4 GB...
Also he is reporting that his battery won't charge to 3.5 properly, only to 2v, and thus wifi fails and freezes the phone completely. Are those batteries a common problem ?
I think that flashing the new radio will fix it. What do you think ?

Thanks for your reply.
Is there a certain batch of them, or all are affected ? Have you tried different radios, etc... ? Is it a good idea to get rid of this phone ? :crying:

[Q] Unstable signal after ROM flash?

Hello
Yesterday I tried flashing my GT-I9300 with MIUI 4.9.20 rom with Danish language..
But I have some problems with the new rom.. My wifi and phone signal seems to have become unstable, when looking at the signal strength it jumps between full, low and no signal..
Don't know much about flashing roms, last time I did it was about year ago..
Looking at the forum, I see people talk about flashing modems etc. on the mobile.. Do I need to do this??
Anybody know how I can fix this?
If you need more information please ask..
