It's being discussed here starting on post #2477, but there isn't a solution yet.

Easy Pease,
For a NABI2 v3.0 running 4.4.2 (KK) the TWRP 2.8.4 wll work and root the system.
TWRP Recovery ound here.

The Bootloader might be locked use the command: fastboot oem unlock
Read more unlocking the bootloader here:

After flashing the TWRP 2.8.4 use a root checker to verify, but your NABI2 should be rooted.

As I understand it, you are rooted via vroot but cannot load a custom recovery? Simply rooting doesn't allow a custom recovery. For that you need either an unlocked bootloader or an exploit of some sort. The only thing I know of that might help you would be Safestrap recovery by developer Hashcode. But I don't know if it works yet with your latest version. Head over to the Safestrap recovery threads and read up on it.

No root anymore?

So I was reading in the "how to root" sticky in the development section on how to root and I read that we can no longer root at all if we took the new update!?!? Is this true or has a root method came around? I read about the safestrap method but i'd rather not try that as the instructions were not quite clear enough for me, I'd rather stick to what i know, which is rooting.....thanks in advance

which android version you are right now ? 4.1.2? 4.3?
for 4.3 head to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565758
after you gain root, then you can install safestrap if you want it.

Ok, I've rooted and installed safestrap per the link. Now, i'm a little unclear, can I install any rom or just 4.3 roms using safestrap?

Select TouchWiz 4.3 roms. Nebula should work fine. Read the entire op of safestrap before installing so you don't land yourself in a mess

[Q] Completely new to LG, need some advice

I'm a veteran of the HTC phones (and at least used to Samsung devices), but my friend wants his G3 to have a custom ROM on it. So I start looking around threads, and I didn't find any straightforward instructions on someone starting out.
Do I need to be S-Off or unlock a bootloader or anything like that? Or do I just grab the custom recovery and ROM, adb the recovery, and install the ROM? Everything I see just says to install the ROM from TWRP and go, but that's not very helpful unfortunately. He's on the latest LP ROM and firmware from Verizon, and I did at least see that this won't be a problem (unlike other devices where newer firmware can sometimes cause unlock issues. I'm probably going to install the Jasmine ROM on his phone to keep it relatively stock for him.
I'll take directions or even just a link if somebody has one handy. Thanks ahead of time for the help

Best/easiest option,
Downgrade to 12b using kdz
Root w/new root method
Flash twrp (adb, flashify, or dd)
Flash jasmine L Rom base
Flash jasmine L small upgrade builds if available
Profit!
Most links can be found in op 2 of my Reference sticky in the Verizon general forum.

Thanks, somehow missed that thread. Glad to see its relatively straightforward with LG, considering it's not my phone and I haven't had an LG to work on (until I get the G4 ).

AT&T SGH-i527 Root on 4.4.2

I've been reading all over the forum but it's difficult to find a definitive answer. I have the AT&T version on 4.4.2, I527UCUBNJ2. I'm not looking for a custom recovery or ROM as I'm pretty sure no progress was ever really made on that. What I'm curious about is whether or not this build can be rooted. I'm not worried about tripping KNOX, I just want to make sure that by (attempting) to gain root I don't make a big brick.

Thank you. I don't suppose you could recommend a tutorial or guide, could you? This is my first ROOTing project, and I'm kinda stumbling through it. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
