@Baltyre can you share the app ? (if you are on tizen now)
@cipherswitch do you have google map for tizen ? ^^

Any help please; Google map's in Gear S;

Only on Google sanctioned device. Tizen is a competitor to Google's Android. You will never see Gmap on such device unless you just want to use the browser version.

You can use HERE off of the gear store instead

GearLocationBridge requires Android. Gear S is Tizen.

if you looking for a gps maps on gear s try taking a look at Gear Navigator standalone its just like google maps and it works like a charm

Calendar App with Task

Hi, does anyone recommend a good calendar app with integrated task that syncs with google? Free would be great too. I use Jorte and its nice, however the task feature on it is very flaky on syncing with google task.

Calendar++ is an enhanced version of the default calendar app, which features in:
• full integration with Google tasks service
• various efficiency improvements
• more functions and options for power users
This is a free version with ad.
Please consider buy a paid version, I'm just a humble developer.
I just registered XDA, so I cannot post links., You can search Google Play for Calendar++ or Calendar++ free.
Hi,
I just tried looking on play store, but could not find Calendar ++, does anybody have a link, or the apk please?
Thanks
John

Confirmed working apps (post here)

Guys, it would be nice if we have a continual app that tells when apps work for the gear fit. When posting, please list what the app does and give it a category (fitness, news, etc.)
My list thus far:
Strava- fitness app. It starts and stops a run and shows your time, but the HR monitor does not work. Also note it will not display vertical.
Sleep Genius- first version failed to do anything, but they updated. I tried to use it last night, but by the time I woke up, the app stopped tracking sleep.

it's not an android OS ... so you cannot actually install apps.

For strava just install the app on your phone, you should then see an extra icon on the fit called app connect with an option to turn strava on in there
There are a few news feeds that are out for the fit now. I just tried Appy Geek for fit and News Republic for gear fit. You have to download two apps for both..... The fit app and the actually program. Haven't spent to much time with them though.

Wow, I didn't know this was possible. Is the SDK private or can anyone make these apps?
Installed Appy Geek Gear fit, works well.
Few people commented they like vertical, me I can not stand vertical.
These apps open the App on your device then uploads the content to the Gear Fit.

How is it even possible to read it in the horizontal mode?
@waxedstrong - This could go in Themes and Apps as well. Maybe PM a mod?
News Republic & Appy Geek on Samsung Gear 2 & Gea…: http://youtu.be/knI3N4cIEVA
Here is a video of News apps for Fit and G2.
And i think it would be usefull if you could control you smartphone camera with Fit. For example when you set Timer to take picture for yourself or a group of people when there is noone who can do it for you. You could just tap your fit to take for example 5 pictures.
This would be popular among "selfists"

app connect
Maybe I am missing something, but I can't find the app connect on my gear fit. Does it have to be activated or turned on somewhere?
Just download for example NewsRepublic and Newrepublic for Fit and it will show up on your fit.

There is a calender app that just popped up in the play store. Works decent if you are needing a quick calendar and want to too look at events. It does look like you can only use it in horizontal mode which makes sense bases on the layout.
Check out "Gear Fit Calendar"

Golf NAVI+ for GearFit
Golf NAVI+ for GearFit on the google play store
looks good and uses GPS to track how far you are from the hole
Just write "SAMSUNG_CUP_ENABLED" in the play store and it should give you list of all supported apps.

Alternatives to AirDroid

Hey guys,
I am wondering if there is any alternative app than AirDroid to remote control your phone.
Maybe an app which does it's interactions hidden, so that thieves don't recognize when I'm locating my phone.
Greez, skippi
Log in to your Google account used on your mobile and there is an option to locate your mobile.

Thank you! But I don't want my GPS always to be switched on because of the battery life. Isn't there any app, where I can remote-activate GPS when I need to find the phone?
