[Q] Android 4.4 car head unit - 3G dongle configuration - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

There are no settings on a car head unit to configure a 3G dongle to access the Internet. According to some posts, people just plug in a dongle before starting the unit and it works. Does this mean that the configuration is stored on the dongle itself or SIM card?
When I connect the dongle to a 3G compatible router I need to enter the settings on the router configuration page. This means that the configuration is stored on the router. Similarly, if I connect the dongle to a PC, the PC needs configuration.
So, where is the configuration stored?

do you think the sx56 can ever connect to a wirelessnetork?

Do you think it's possible to have the sx56 connect to a actual wireless network to be able to surf the web and such?? maybe if you used the usb connection and put a linksys wireless usb card on the end or something? i dont know i am just curious ?
i'm a T-Mobile USA user, and i can go online an chat or surf or download... 24/7 for $19.00 a month!
someone also told me that they made SD-card bluetooth for it too.
didnt look into it yet tho.
2 kind of devices have an usb connector
1. usb peripheral
2. usb hosts (or what ever you want to call it)
1. are stuff like an external harddisk and a webcam and an xda
2. are computers laptops pc's mac's what ever
you cant connect 2 {1} devices like you cant connect your webcam to your usb harddisk even if the cable fit because there need to be a master
the xda is a peripheral which can connect to a pc
so you cant connect other peripheral's to it since 2 peripherals cant talk with eachother
so there is no way to connect to a wireless network through the pda? besides using the cradle and activesync?
you can of cause connect using VPN if it support over GPRS to a server which route you into a wireless lan
or if you really can get those bluetooth adaptors which work even though the sd slot is not sd-io because bluetooth support PPP so you could bluetooth to a computer which could route you into a wireles lan
No.
No wireless LAN.
No Bluetooth.
Period.
That's it.

[Q] Is there a way to change network adapter speed and duplex on android?

Hello, i have one old aliuminium ethernet cable, when i connect laptop and router using this cable I have to change network adapter speed to 10mbps full duplex. When it's on auto (or any other setting) i get "cable unpluged" message. But I want to connect router with android tv box (geniatech m1 atv1000), but magic doen't happen. Actualy it's not quite a router it's a cheap chineese wifi repeater , and it doesn't have allmost any settings, so i'm wondering is there a way to change androids network adapter speed and duplex?
I cannot change the cable, because it's betonated inside of the wall..

[Q] Two USB - 3G fixing issue

Hi
We have an android application which uses UsbManager to get GPS data (over a USB port) in cubie board. We use another USB port in cubie board for 3G dongle (which is driven by 3rd party apk from play store).
3G dongle is not fixing when I we install the apk which receives GPS data over USB. What could be the problem? I am just iterating USB devices and connecting to only the GPS device. Is it because I am iterating all the USB devices?
How to make 3G dongle working?
How do I get the required Device object without iterating and find the device by vendor id? I am doing this just to request for user permission. I am not doing this then I am not receiving the message in Broadcast receiver which connects to USB device.
Thanks

Buffer?
Im quite confused. Do you already have an audio link but it stutters?
If not, then I think you mean you want to send audio from one device to another on the browser.
I'm not sure how you would go about opening ports to the locally hosted hotspot network(probably with ifconfig)
Then you would need a local binary that gathers the audio and makes it available as a local port on that device(etho wlan0 etc) with some sort of streaming protocol.
Then you need to connect to the stream with ipaddressort from your other device. Given that the other device's browser supports the protocol.

Simultaneous Wifi and Ethernet Connection on AMLogicS802 powered device

Dear experts,
I have an issue with my Android multimedia device Orbsmart S82 which is powered by an AMLogic S802 chip. All my devices (phone, tablet, pc, NAS, orbsmart s82) are connected to the internet via Wifi.
To view HD-content on my TV, my plan was to connect my Orbsmart via ethernet cable to my NAS to receive stutter free video output. This works seamlessly. BUT: I cannot turn on Wifi and Ethernet on the Orbsmart at the same time. So each time I want to view content from my NAS, I have to go to the system settings and enable Ethernet. As Wifi gets disabled automatically by that action, I have to activate Wifi in the system settings in order to be able to view online content. But then, the ethernet interface is turned off again.
No matter what I try, only Wifi or Ethernet can be active.
Does anyone have a similar setup? What is your solution?
Thanks in advance!
In the meantime I found a possible explanation for the Orbsmart's behavior. Obviously, Android only allows one data connection at the same time per default. There seems to be a workaround if you can code. Unfortunately, I am not much of a coder...

Any suggestions to fix this without coding are much appreciated.
I found a solution. It only works for me if I connect an Android compatible USB / Ethernet Adapter. If I configure both Wifi and Ethernet manually with different subnets, I can make both work simultaneously. I use this adapter: Assmann DN-10050-1 Digitus USB network adapter.
Cheers.
