You need to know the facts before you speak

You shouldn't have took that update. That update sucks major. Now I can't move music to my SD card because Google or Verizon close the write permission so the only way to get my music on my card is to use a computer. My phone is always buggy and apps always forcing close. It a nightmare because they are trying to make SD cards useless

Since the nk1 update, Ive noticed that my auto screen rotate doesn't work. I was on YouTube and turned my phone, and it wouldn't turn. So I tried other apps and it doesn't work.

Great!

Any changes to how WiFi tethering works? I don't have this phone, but a family member was recently updated from stock NC4 to NK1 and says she can no longer tether. The person doesn't need root, but tethering is crucial.

Does foxfi still work with this new update

Time Warner Cable (TWC) app for ICS and LiveTV Root workaround

Found this thread on xda's "Droid RAZR General" forum that mentions conflicting results with a workaround for the TWC app preventing the livetv feature if you have root.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604411
Just want to point out that on my AT&T NOTE (Seraphim First Flight ROM) renaming the /system/app/Superuser.apk then clearing the TWC app from memory was successful. Was then able to use the TWC Live TV feature.
A script to do this automatically is probably warranted but I'm sure some of the great minds here on xda will beat me to it !
Worked fine for me on DAGr8 alpha II, no moding needed
Just wonder if any way to get live TV working when off my home wifi network.

Anyone tried "hide my root" for this? I can't test it since I don't live in a TWC services area.

Warning - McAfee Mobile Security - Warning

This morning I got a notification from my McAfee Mobile Security app telling me it found a potential threat on my sd card. The notification led me to one of my CWM backup .tar files, so I dismissed the notification and told the app to take no action. I just decided to take another look at my backups and realized that McAfee had gutted every single one of my .tar files. The files are still there, just empty.
I've been using McAfee for over 6 months now with no problems. Must have been a recent update. Back to Lookout.....

That sucks. I hate how McAfee takes control even on the computer. I used them once on a new computer and had absolutely no control over anything it did so dumped it and never went back. I've been using NetQuin on my phone and ZoneAlarm on my computer.
Been using AVG myself since my annual sub to Lookout expired a few months back. It's been doing fine for me.
I am one of the few people that likes McAfee. I use the antivirus software and online backup on my computers and never had a problem of any kind. Made sense to me to try the mobile product. It worked great too until today.
I started using McAfee when I stopped using blur based roms since I wanted the ability to wipe remotely. Can you do that on either NetQuin or AVG. Lookout can do it, but that would be another $30.
I used avast for a while. You could give that a go. It was quite good, not very intrusive and doesn't have a noticeable effect on performance.
Since doing a factory reset on my phone I haven't bothered reinstalling it as I don't feel it's necessary for my needs.

NetQuin probably offers it for the premium service as well, but the free version does have an antitheft mode. If someone tries to change the sim card out then it notifies a number you select when setting it up. Also has online backup of contacts which is another feature I use alot in case google doesn't work between new roms.
Sounds like they are all the same (like most apps) - you get some features for free and you pay for the really good features. I'll be back on a blur based rom until official ICS comes out, so I'll just keep using the free version of Lookout.

What I thought was funny was that I loaded Nova Launcher on my phone. Then all of a sudden I had 4 apps that weren't there in the Sense launcher. Now I have "Car", "Flash Player Settings", "PDF Viewer", and "Polaris Office". So, you don't have to be rooted. The apps all work. But for some reason, Sense for AT&T is hiding the apps. Use another launcher. It'll be there.

It's on the phone already. You would just need to "unhide" it by using another launcher or one of the apps previously mentioned.

Suspicious app called MtkCamera

Rooted my phone using the Vroot method and did some surveying with permission manager, xPrivacy and I stumbled upon a mysterious app called MtkCamera (com.example.cameraroot). I have no recollection of ever installing this app. I find this suspicious because I use permission manager on other phones running ICS and never have to deal with this app before. Considering all the apps listed are installed from Google Play Store, I decided to restrict all permission and uninstall the app. Check out the permissions list.

So the reason some people do not have can be simply because they do not have a TW firmware. Have a TW firmware and got it after vroot. Stuck in Update Mode

I just bought (from Craigslist) a new still in plastic V10 two weeks ago. I came across this thread shortly afterwards, so I rooted my phone and froze a few Verizon apps last weekend. When I flashed the first time, I flashed the .tot file without flashing the .kdz file, which made my phone unable to receive texts. I had to factory reset, flash .kdz, then flash .tot. Root worked fine all week, and I used Titanium to freeze most of the Verizon apps. During the past week the second screen stopped working. I read in another forum post here on xda that it sometimes freezing those apps causes the second screen to stop working, and it takes a factory reset to get it working again. Today I did a factory reset, then flashed the .11b kdz file, the the .tot root file to do that all again. Everything was going fine, but somehow in the process I started downloading the Verizon update- MM I assume. I have pulled the battery numerous times to stop it, but every time I reboot it starts up again. It says the file size is 988MB. I can't get it to stop, and I cannot get my Windows 7 computer to see the phone now with LG Up (says there is no handset connected).
Is it possible to stop the update? It is at approximately 25% now. What can I do to get my computer to see it again?
Thanks for any help!
I have it fixed, thanks anyway.
