I built this for my nephew @nubkiller1996 after I got it running on my Note 3. He's used it for a while and thought you all here might enjoy another rom. So here it goes, this is just built direct from pac-man using CM11 device tree and kernel. Everything has worked thus far.
Things I've used so far w/o issue
WiFi
LTE Data
3G Data
Camera
Video
GPS (much faster lock over R3)
Google Now
"Ok Google"
Screen Rotation
SMS/MMS (I use Handcent SMS)
Bluetooth
Navigation
Things that have happened:
nothing
Not working:
nothing yet

FAQ
FAQ:
1. GPS (device only) - things to try
** since pac-man 4.4.4 was upgraded to release GPS works great**
If you have a problem you can try:
Get a lock in your current ROM right before you flash this, after flashing get a lock with WiFi on, download GPS Status from the Market, set GPS to Device only. Open GPS Status let it sit there (I've found being outside or near a window will help)
user @sandix found that for them using:
ANT+ and ANT+ Plugin service from the playstore
they were able to get GPS lock.
If you are wondering what ANT+ is checkout the wikipedia article
2. You need to be on 4.4.4 firmware
3. What languages are supported by Pac-Man ROM?
This dropbox folder has screenshots of Settings -> Language & Input: Pac-Man Languages
4. When is the last time you checked for updates from Pac-Man?
2/7/15 @ 9:20 am -built ROM
This ROM will be updated every Saturday morning
5. Issue Downloading via phone.
Confirmed that dev-host web interface doesn't download via the browser. I'll keep the latest zip here on my Google Drive as a Mobile mirror
6. Can I use GEAR with AOSP type ROMs (as PAC-MAN is)?
While that is a proprietary piece of Samsung hardware, this guide might help you get it working.
7. I can't write to the external sd card. How do I fix that?
You can use this app to fix it SD Fix
8. Can I run the stock Sprint Voicemail app?
Thanks to @ffkip911; For those missing Voicemail apk.... App works perfect

5. Issue Downloading rom . It downloads a "zip/exe" file.
Make sure to select the bottom download button, the other is Dev-Hosts download manager.
When you put the mouse pointer over the button you should see the filename on the bottom of your browser.
6. What do I use for s-pen functionality?
Check out this thread Spen features on AOSP roms this set-up works really nicely.

This is already in the unified devel forum, 5.0 is still being ported. So I'm just waiting to roll those out, are you planning on moving to 5.0 or stay on 4.4.4?

@jdelano...thanks for the build! Running amazingly well. Running stock kernel to test battery.
Cell (sending and receiving) and data are great.
GPS needed the market app, once installed GPS is spot on and quick.
Bluetooth is solid
WiFi is solid
Everything runs as expected without issues.
Pandora with Viper audio is exceptional! Highs are crisp and clean, bass is gut pounding.
Great build out of the box (GPS may have been because I did not have a lock when flashing... But all is good now)

Already updating - 1/12
I went and checked the changelog, there were quite a number of changes committed.
Find the newest zip here
As a note, I've been able to update from 1 version to the next by following these steps:
Download the zip to your phone
reboot to recovery
backup
I wipe factory reset (in Philz I use the "Install New ROM" option)
flash new zip
flash GAPPS
custom restore - just data
wipe cache partition
wipe dalvik cache
reboot

Couldn't dl on mobile (file was 28mb) will try on comp when I can. Thanks for the update!
Edit: v1 has great life on stock kernel... And mobile DL with chrome for v2

DL v2 on mobile chrome just fine
***my personal experience *** power button to recovery, flash today's zip via Phills with NO wipes. Reboot with no dalvik wipe. Running with no issues and with the updates (so far)
Edit: weird bug on both versions... Opening maps initially locks screen. Once unlocked, maps open and GPS is locked on???
Edit2: problem with maps was because System Tuner was auto killing GPS... Once GPS was excluded from auto kill there are no more issues with maps

Do calls work well in this ROM? I've noticed that in the CM11/12 ROMS on this forum for our S5, calls, although they work, never hangup when you hit hangup (using minutes/battery)
I will try this ROM soon

Downloads are available on pac-rom forum, there are two builds one with working camera but exposure sensor fail, second one has a not working camera.
Thanks to jose
Edit: Just installed the ROM and i'm loving it, totally worth the wait...some people may fall back because no camera/broken exposure sensor other than that everything works great so far..
nightly just popped up on basketbuild downloads! on pac-rom website.

The Nightly i just flashed,
the NFC won't turn off, which might explain the battery drain ... (i've a new battery, never happened with CM-11)
the camera, there's no application for it, tested it with ICS camera application on playstore, exposure issues
other than that, all's good for now , great work
@josegalre I've now tried all 3 of your KitKat releases, thanks for the hard work and effort in producing this ROM.
Am I correct in assuming that the reason for the camera / exposure related issues is because you're cloning the CM-11 git for you hardware tree? I ask because if this is indeed the case, then this means that whatever hardware issues are affecting the latest CM builds will also affect your PAC-ROM builds too. This also means that until these camera / exposure issues are resolved with CM then you won't have solution(s) either, correct? TIA
Keep up the great work!
Thanks again.
Odysseus1962 no I don't think he is using CM 11's git, cause he wrote that he made this ROM from scratch.

I hope he chimes in later when he's home from school, but I believe what he means by made from scratch is that this is compiled from sources and not ported from binaries prebuilt from another device. I say this because as I look at the instructions in the PAC-ROM forum here (at XDA), there is mention of cloning the CM hardware device tree as part of the setup process for preparing to build. Further illustrating this point is that the camera bug(s) that are afflicting this ROM are very similar to those affecting @sportsstar89 and his recent CM-11 ION builds.
very fast and nice work i respect that
Bugs
1-
A) Camera not found.
B) Camera bottoms not work
2- FC when reciving calls can not see who is call
3- call history not show any missd call
4- Bluetooth FC
5- Battary drain fast
6- Start boot animation is not a professionnel one
7- Music widget FC
Does anyone know if WiFi tether for root works.

correct I used the repository by sportsstart89 ruby (without their work would not be possible)
although I have also used other repositories of devices MSM8660 , I understand, most devices 8660, is the error in camera exposion, but I'm not sure

pacman uses many repositories of cyanogenmod you can see the full list here
I've heard that the camera works well with kernel 3.4 but I have not personally verified this, these build with kernel 3.4 test days, sorry if I slow to respond but in university it takes me a long time, I'm more than 10 hours in college, I know that's no excuse!

Good, I'll vouch for the items!
1 - I still have problems with that, there is a version where the camera works, look at pac forums
2 and 3 - call yesterday to my brother (he is the owner of my beloved ruby) and I do not report anything, when you place saw no evidence that error will report the error in forums pac,
4 - yes, I'm aware of it, and I have prepared the solution but this creates conflict with systemui me patience ... or use the version 7 FEBRUARY
5 - Please turn off nfc and gps
6 - you are right, the boot animation is misconfigured, I will tell the creator or repaired
7 - this is error from latest version apollo, I hope it fixed soon
Thanks again Jose for your hard work, timely response and answers to our questions. We all know you're busy with school and that task is much more important than this ROM. We all wish you continued success both in your studies and in progressing with this great ROM.
Thanks
I'm reading through this thread and seeing complaints about battery. I've been running this since last night. Been running perfect all day been at work come home play on phone battery still up.
Now that said: you can't say anything about the battery until you use it for atleast 2 days to allow kernel to settle in.
Awesome ROM very fast and snappy gonna use for few days. I'll get logcats if any problems. But as of now only issue I had was GPS not really locking like that. Other then that thanks great ROM

I have a 5.0 build in the works. So far only thing not working is the ril (wifi is fine), internal sd, and some custom features. But yea just starting to pic this rom building back up so any help is greatly appreciated.

Nice! Running this now and it works flawlessly. Would be sweet to see a 5.0 ROM. I had to switch to this phone from my HTC DNA since I destroyed the screen. Feels like a serious downgrade lol but this ROM is smooth, makes it just feel like the same phone with a smaller screen. :good:

Hi
Thanks for releasing this.
I have done a TWRP backup of boot/system/data, a complete titanium backup of my stock rooted ROM, and backed up contacts/sms/call logs too...
just a couple of questions: (answered )
Is overclocking supported by this kernel? - YES
and does it have WiFi hotspot capability ? - YES
Will probably give it a go in any case, but just wondering before I actually pull the trigger.
Thanks again.

This is an excellent ROM, as others have said. My performance per Quadrant is just under what I was getting from a de-bloated/tweaked stock ROM, but the functional enhancements make it eminently worth installing and keeping.
only issue(s) I have seen:
Immediately after install, installed Titanium Backup to do some restores, and it complained that the default SU couldnt be elvated to root. I installed SuperSU from the Market and had no issue after that (install binary from TWRP).
(on the pac-rom forums they'v called this nit picking, but ....)
I really dont like the branded animations, boot animation is easy enough to replace with something more stock, but the shutdown animations are compiled into the framework evidently and havent yet found a way to override them.
Replaced stock launcher with NOVA
replaced Apollo with Music+, stock like AOSP player
Thanks again for making this available.
The sound toggle function
(mute/vibrate/sound and vibrate)
doesn't appear to work....
Ok I'll look into adding/editing features of the ROM in the source code. If anyone has any experience in this and could point me in the right direction then I could make the changes. I'll post another build if anyone wants nightlys. Plus if you'd like to see a different ROM ported I can do that as well.

Hi, not piling on , just adding issues I see.
sending SMS messages with a pic attachment (text converted to multimedia) doesnt work, (messgaes just stay in "sending" status"
and when previewing pics to attach the preview function doesnt work , you see folder/file icon instead of a thumbnail.
@Beeko: any idea what happened to the _official Pac-Man_ builds for fireball? ... apparently as shown on the web the last official (KK) build for fireball was at 25th of August, but ever since even the fireball folder doesn't exist on their download server anymore
cheers

the immediate workaround I have found was to "freeze" the stock Messaging app, and install 8sms from the Play Store , (will show ads after 14 days until you donate), and even with that multimedia messages dont appear to send on wifi only, have to have enabled mobile network.
workaround 2:
in Play Store - "SMS Messageing (AOSP) Sylvain Galand"
appears to be ad-free stock Messaging app, mobile network must still be enabled for MMS messages to be sent.
I have been using Google's new Messaging app so I haven't had that issue yet. I will compile a new build and post it tonight and see it it self fixes. IDK how to really go in and add stuff yet, been really busy with the end of this semester for my classes. So please hang in there with me.
EDIT: Took my laptop to school got a new build, and uploaded it here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95784891001615746 Again, hang in there with me as I learn this stuff.

Hi
I installed the new zip, cleared cache and Dalvik, and it installed fine.
Stock messaging still requires mobile network to send MMS, no big deal.
Sound control (Sound/vibrate/mute) still doesn't appear to have the desired effect (again, no big deal)
Thanks for making it available.
UPDATE: Sorry haven't really been at this too much lately, but here's pac built with SaberMod 4.8, and Linaro 4.7 for the kernel. I'd say it runs a lot smoother but you can be the judge.

Awesome! Thanks for the update, I'll be flashing this tonight and running it all day tomorrow. I'll have some feedback for you in the evening. THANKS AGAIN!

Cool beans. I've been running it smoothly for a couple days now, with no issues but please let me know.
@Beeko
I've been running your build and it is very smooth, no doubt about that.
It does have some issues however.
The issues mostly center around gsm support.
When I'm connected to my carrier the signal always shows -125dbm which is 0 signal basically.
I try to add an APN and sometimes it adds it, sometimes it doesn't, but it never manages to work either way.
When I try to dial #'s while on a phone call, the other side apparently doesn't receive them (or it never sends it?)
And then there is the very common dialer issue where the dialpad does not show up the first time, but if you hit the back button and try again it's there.
cm9/10/11? had a switch in the menus to switch between cdma and gsm modes.
Not the preferred network type, that helps, but a separate mode switcher that seemed to alleviate issues with gsm.

What carrier are you using so maybe I can add the APN into the config file before compilation. The dial tones that you are talking about I haven't had that problem but I've been running Lollipop for a few months, I think I know what the problem might be but I'll have to look into it. It might take me a while to send out an update depending on what needs to be tweaked, and the fact that we had an incident at my work so I'll have to be working a bunch more hours.
@Beeko
Thanks for the reply.
I'm using Lycamobile for my carrier.
Here are the APN settings I'm currently using:
name: Lycamobile US
apn: data.lycamobile.com
user: lmus
password: plus
authentication type: none
apn type: default, supl, admin, mms
mmsc: http://lyca.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc
Whenever you get to the update, it's fine by me. I know how it goes as well. Still trying to get back to updating my custom build of sqlite :\

Ok, I found out that your APN isn't in here, so I'll add it to the .xml for compile so hopefully that works. Also, would you like me to add MDMowers partition swap to it, you can read about it here: http://mdmower.cmphys.com/cyanogenmod-fireball/ . All you'll have to do is flash a custom recovery and do some formatting steps and you'll have much more room for apps, so no more insufficient data.

FAQ:
1. GPS (device only) - things to try
Get a lock in your current ROM right before you flash this, after flashing get a lock with WiFi on, download GPS Status from the Market, set GPS to Device only. Open GPS Status let it sit there (I've found being outside or near a window will help) ** since pac-man 4.4.4 was upgraded to release GPS works great**
2. You need to be at least on NH7 baseband/modem and firmware.
3. What languages are supported by Pac-Man ROM?
This dropbox folder has screenshots of Settings -> Language & Input: Pac-Man Languages
4. When is the last time you checked for updates from Pac-Man?
2/4/15 @ 11:45 am -built ROM; 54 new commits with a fix for camera issue; which is why I built early, last repo sync 1/31/15
This ROM will be updated every Saturday morning starting 1/31
5. What do I use for s-pen functionality?
Check out this thread Spen features on AOSP roms this set-up works really nicely.

I am running it.
The GPS takes a bit to get going but it has stuck since it found satellites. As stated I used GPS Status and let it sit there until it finally locked. I have not taken a drive yet (I'm disabled and can't and I've not gone anywhere since)
The only issue I've hit is one time Handcent SMS lagged for a few seconds then FC. That happened 1 time. I send/recv maybe 50ish texts a day.
MMS/SMS is fine, camera and video are fine. Battery is good as well.
I hope that helps some. I'll update post 2 with items I've used and those items I've run into.

FAQ
How often will this be updated?
- Probably once a week unless there is a large update before hand.
Problem: Bluetooth playing media, say from Google Maps, causes the phone to erratically reboot.
- Workaround: Disable 'Media' in bluetooth menu. Leave 'Phone' enabled. You can still use the bluetooth for phone calls.
(Thanks to @Buddlespit for working this out)
What are the reported issues?
- 7/23/15: camera disconnects
- 7/22/15: playing videos in Youtube and Facebook

If using chrome on your phone you can try requesting desktop version, though dev-host and chrome seem to have a weird relationship.
Try using firefox on your phone or use your PC to download the zip and transfer it to your phone.

I was using the built in browser on the galaxy s5. Tried both download & download now. Download takes you to some ad sight. The download now gives you the giG3 file. Will download Firefox & try again.
Thank you for the work! One thing that's held me back from flashing a LP ROM is the lack of tiles the LP ROMs have compared to KK. I haven't flashed your ROM yet but I plan on as soon as it finishes. I miss the compass tile and the cam and music tile. Is this something that can be added if not there?

I haven't done edits before though I've been reading about it quite a bit, I haven't taken that dive as of yet.
That being said, Xposed + Gravity Box allows modifying the tiles as well.

LOL you're right, the ubiquitous GPS question.
Nobody has posted that its not. It works great on my Note 3.
I always recommend to get a lock with Touchwiz just before flashing an AOSP rom. Then once flashed get a lock with WiFi on after that set the GPS to device only and get a lock again and I've rarely encountered an issue with these steps. I normally set GPS to battery saving until I need navigation.
To get a lock I simply open Maps and wait for my blue circle.
I hope this helps. Good luck!!

So I was running this ROM a few days ago and I made sure that I had GPS lock right before I flashed and the first time I used Maps, it did locate me and it worked great. I used it a second time and it was constantly looking for a GPS signal. It wouldn't connect and it would drop data. I thought it may have been because I could have possibly be in a bad reception area but I have excellent reception at home and I tried it then and the same symptoms. It wouldn't find a GPS signal. I had to go back to a touchwiz ROM because I need to use Maps often and it wasn't working for me. I had use the first version of the ROM and that's when all this happened. When I updated, I tried it over and again same thing so I moved over to another rom. I love PacRom, just this GPS thing isn't fun when you have no idea where you're at and you're trying to get home. Haha.

1. Download B321 Recovery from:
https://drive.google.com/folderview...sharing&tid=0B-nJFDpWA4MdVjhEYzU3TXlMZ0U#list
2. Copy recovery to your adb folder (usually c:\adb)
3. flash recovery using ADB ( I recommend renaming the file to something easier like b321recovery.img so it will be something like "fastboot flash recovery c:\adb\b321recovery.img
4. Download B322 Image from Huawei Site:
5. http://consumer.huawei.com/us/support/downloads/detail/index.htm?id=52043
6. Unzip and copy dload folder to your SD Card on your phone.
7. Power off phone and do the following.
8. Turn off the phone. Hold vol up+vol down+power until the Huawei logo comes up and then release only the power button. Keep holding the vol up+vol down until it starts upgrading/installing.
10. Once phone boots go to about phone and keep clicking "build number" until you unlock developer options
11. Enable "USB Debugging" in Developer Options under Settings.
12. Download TWRP 2.8.7.0 from:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347796529
13. Flash TWRP same you you flashed stock recovery in step 3. (I would rename to twrp.img) (fastboot flash recovery c:\adb\twrp.img)
14 Boot back into TWRP and restore your backup or install new build.

Seems good as the rest other than Chrome crashes constantly. Unusable. I will grab a log and post.

I'm unable to replicate that so the log would definitely be great.

Not really what you wanted. But I will get it in the morning. Lol having to jump back and forth with some stuff. This should get you something to look at.
I will swap to your gapps package. And reinstall.
I managed to get chrome going. Accessing web is a no go. Bookmarks or manually typing aa URL and it just sits. Keeps crashing through touch activities. Initial setup of the phone crashes as well. Clicking OK and it doesn't reappear.

I'm gonna see if I replicate that on today's build. As of now, it's compiling, but should be finished and uploaded within the next 10-15 minutes.
Also: Due to overall lack of interest, I'm moving this from nightly to weekly starting next Wednesday, and then probably semi-weekly. That way it would be easier to focus my attention to other projects and it frees up a ton of resources. Also, change logs are now going to be posted every Wednesday as well in post #3, not too long after the newest build is posted.

Yeah, there's not a lot of people with this phone. I think the people that do have this phone but aren't on here are most likely the ones that give no cares about flashing things.
But still, thank you so much for doing this. It is deeply appreciated by all of us. :good:

So far. How would you rank the three available ROMs (as they stand) for those who would like to flash one of them ?

This is the only one to be updated so far. And it is much improved. Battery is much better and everything works. UI is smooth and quick. Faster than stock by far. They must have pulled the newest additions from Matt's guthub. No cell problems at all. Battery life seems close to stock. Haven't had a chance to verify exact life. But I am not running and wqkeloxk blockers or limiters. Am at 90% and screen has been on 1.2 hours. But I have been uodqting from play store and redownloading apps. Setting up screen etc. Will post again later with screen shots.

That's excellent news !! Why wouldn't you do a screen cast of the ROM ? No need for a voice over or anything. Just record the screen while showing off the ROM features, what works etc . . . Please do that.
