Returned M8 to stock, won't update past 4.4.2 - AT&T HTC One (M8)

I had my M8 rooted and decided to go back to good ole stock. I got it back to stock, S-on, stock recovery and everything is dandy. I went to run updates and the phone ran a new update. Now it says I'm on software 4.4.2 software 1.58 and that there are no more updates available.
Now I heard 4.4.4 got pulled, but why won't it go to 4.4.3?
Thanks for any help!

I'm reading around and it sounds like 4.4.2 is actually the latest software for the ATT M8.
Can someone else confirm that this is in fact true...

It's true. 4.4.2 is latest official version. AT&T pulled the 4.4.3 update due to reported battery drain issues. You can flash the RUU for 4.4.3, which does NOT have any battery issues here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...-2-23-502-3-bootable-ruu-pc-required-t2860486

Thanks so much. Crazy! Oh well. Looks like I'm fine. Waiting for lollipop update in a bit!
Thanks!

With how AT&T has been handling updates with this phone . You might be better off flashing the developers version of the software . Sorry but more and more M8's on other carriers have made it to 4.4.4 and soon to be 5.0 . Yet AT&T , is unable to do what their competition is capable of ? Yes Im aware that HTC needs to make the updates but its usually the carriers screwing around with the update that drags it out if it gets released at all .

Help upgrading to G2 to 2.1

Hello all,
Apologies is this has come up in the forums before but I hve looked through and couldn't find an answer.
Basically I bought a used G2 from ebay that was locked (& branded) to T-Mobile. I had it rooted/unlocked and now am on a Vodafone 30 day contract. It is currently running android 1.5.
I have not been prompted by the OTA update. I am unsure whether I use Vodafone or T-Mobile software for the update, or whether there is maybe a generic HTC version available? I want to make sure that the phone is left open to work on Vodafone after the updgrade also.
If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated,
Thank you very much in advance!!
Keith
If you're going to stick with the official releases just flash the WWE version (which you should be able to find a link on here somewhere). Bear in mind that this will permanently lock you into v2.1 official releases as there is no known method to gain root on 2.1 as of yet and custom rom's will be out of the question.
The Vodafone and T-Mobile versions of the software mainly contain advertisement rather than actual changes.
duno if it helps but i was gettin pissed waiting for the t-mobile ota update, so i created a gold card using the method in another section, downgraded to the generic rom then run both ota updates when my phone promted me (setting my date 1 year ahead) i did not like the 2.1 as it was running peep and teh rest that i never use, i just reflashed it with the generic 1.5 rom i used originaly, installed flashrec and a recovery image, and is now running, happly, vallian 12. i was originaly on the latest t-mobile firmware.
duno if that helps? or was it a cooked version of 2.1 it downloaded via the ota system?
i is still happly rooted.

[Q] Can't get 605.9 to stick

I rooted with Revolt. long time ago, and my ROM is Infectedrom.
Android v 2.3.4
HTC Sense 3.5
software 2.11.605.5
Baseband 1.48.000.0930w_3,0.01.78.0916w_3
I have hboot to the PG05IMG.zip several times and it contains the latest radio files and give me good updates on the hboot screen, but still no 605.9.
Any ideas would be helpful,
Ron
If im reading your post right, you have to flash a rom with 605.9 as its base. You flash roms through recovery not hboot. Flashing the radios will not change the software version..
Okay, slightly confused. How do I tell if I have the latest radio file versions? I thought the Software number was the radio files version, 2.11.605.5. What should I be looking for?
My rom (Build number?), InfectedROM Eternity (Nightly), is fine and I assume its the latest and greatest.
You got a noob here, but trying--you and me!!

Can you flash a radio using Clockwork?
The Software version is NOT the radio version. If you go into settings, about phone, software info, more info, you should see baseband version under the kernel version. The baseband version is your radio version.
The latest radio that came with latest OTA is 0.01.78.0916w_3

Thanks, therefore my radio is up to date (see first post). Can you unconfuse (if that is a word) me on what is 605.5 and 605.9 software version and where I should be.
Thanks for the reply,
Ron
605.5 and 605.9 are versions of the phone's official firmware, 605.9 being the most up to date. the newest radio in question was included in 605.9 as an update to the older radio, but it was extracted from that firmware release so that rooted users could update only the radio and not the entire firmware.
that's what you've done already.
if you're rooted and running a ROM that you like and works for you, there isn't any reason to upgrade your firmware version (especially since you've already installed the newest radio). if there are big features or changes in 605.9 that the developers want to include in their ROM, they will release a new version of that ROM for you to flash. also, 605.9 has caused most (all?) rooted users who accepted the upgrade to lose root.
basically - if you updated to the newest radio, everything works and you're happy with it, don't worry about it. keep an eye on your favorite ROM's thread for updates from those developers and don't sweat Verizon's official releases.
(please do correct me if I have any of that wrong!)

THANK YOU!!!!
I needed that education, but I am sure that was obvious. I will watch and wait my rom developer for additional updates.
BTW, the Rezound battery is GREAT. A little tight, and I should have polished the edges because it is gonna be hard taking it out.
However, thanks for that explanation....I feel so much better.

Unable to update

Hi, last December I bought an international One X+ at Vodafone Czech Republic (unbranded) and started playing with it immediately. After trying out several ROMs I decided that I was most satisfied with the stock version, only with root. Unfortunately I lost my original backup of the stock ROM so I used the link towards the stock RUUs in hasoon's toolkit. Then I was stupid enough to flash the newest European RUU I found without knowing which one I had originally: 1.17.401.1. I also flashed back the stock recovery since I believed that it will enable OTA updates in the future. Everything was fine until today when I wanted to update to 4.2.2 and encountered a problem - the update downloads successfully and the installation starts only to be interrupted approximately one third along the way and the phone reboots. Any ideas how to solve this?
Thanks a lot guys!

You might try it a few times. If you are unable to download the OTA - it means you are good to go for OTA...

[Q] I need special help with my Phone :(

I bought htc one m8 from e-bay (at&t unlocked) when I was USA. That at&t apps are really annoying and I didnt get the lollipop update. I wanted to update the rom by myself and delete the at&t apps. And now I rooted + unlocked bootloader and installed android revoulation 5.0.1 lollipop rom. I can't use wifi + I cant reboot the phone (it stucks at white HTC screen). I didn't flash firmware because s-on still. So I need really simple and detailed information about what to do. Can anyone pm me about it or explain in comments?
There is not Lollipop update for AT&T yet.
And if you aren't on AT&T's network you won't get any OTAs either. AT&T is fairly unique in this regard, other versions will update regardless of what carrier you are connected to.
For most Lollipop ROMs, you will find your WiFi is broken due to wrong (old) firmware. Your options:
1) A couple Lollipop Sense ROMs (LeeDroid?) seem to work with 4.4.4 firmware. But if your firmware is older than 4.4.4, I don't think any Lollipop Sense ROMs will work.
2) Revert to a ROM version that supports your firmware. For instance, if you are still on 4.4.4 firmware, install a stock or custom 4.4.4 Sense ROM.
3) S-off and update your firmware "manually".

Galaxy Alpha 850M on 850MUBU1BOB1 UPDATE ?

I see another Software Update OTA on my unlocked 850M.
IF this update is 850MUBU1BOB2 I want it !
IF this update is Lollipop I do NOT want it !
How can I tell before I enable Download ?
I downgraded back to KK after LP automatically updated. I can't remember which KK file I downgraded to, but it was different than the original one. Finally figured out the original one and downgraded to that.
If both of our SM-G850M came with the same software version--and I'm betting they did--my guess is that you won't like the newer KK version either. It's not as, "artistic" as the original.
