LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 5.1 (Lollipop), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Dear One,
U had done a fantastic work than a Sony as you had slept with making lolli for xperia go.
They are not answering for my inquiry for xperia go.
I have no words to say thanks to you. Also to inform that someone who know to remove bugs help this guy as he is alone doing for all of us.
Thank you
Dearly.

Zip installation stops on "Skipping md5...", what's wrong?

Reboots...
Great ROM, same problems as the XperiaSTE CM11.0, though. (BT not working, camera problems)
I'm also getting a random soft reboot every 5 mins or so, no idea why, so I'm reverting to KK until the next build. :crying:
Keep up the good work!

F.A.Q
1) Why root access isn't working ?
Ans: Goto Settings => Developer Options => Root Access and enable root.
2)How to use Illumination Bar for notification ?
Ans:
i) Illumination bar is enabled by default, but you can change the settings from Settings -> Buttons -> Backlight.
ii) "Illumination Bar Notification" app is needed for notification to work
iii) You can change theme color from that app too.
iv) In Settings -> Display & Lights -> Notification light, only enable Notification light. No other changes are necessary.
3)How to switch between EXT4/F2FS ?
Ans:
Newer build has F2FS enabled for /data and /cache partition. So you need to format those partition to F2FS first.
i) Make sure to backup everything, cause you'll be formatting your data partition.
ii) Reboot to recovery and goto Wipe => Advanced Wipe. Then wipe system, data, cache, dalvik-cache.
iii) Return to Wipe => Advanced Wipe again. Now select only data partition and click Repair or Change filesystem => Change Filesystem. Now select F2FS from the list and swipe to format data partition to F2FS.
iv) Similarly, format cache partition to F2FS too.
v) Now you're ready to flash the rom. Flash it normally and reboot.
vi) Using steps iii & iv, you can easily go back to EXT4 partition. But wiping is needed.
vii) All these steps are needed ONCE. After you formatted to F2FS, you don't need to do it again.
vii) Remember, to flash rom successfully your /data and /cache partition have to be in F2FS format..

As far as I know, it means we have no 3d acceleration, but I could be wrong.
However, as usual, thank you very much AGONTUK, you made it! Get this, sony software engineers, those who abandoned us!
Code:
WORKING
- Wifi
- Bluetooth
- RIL (sms, data, voicecall)
- Audio, recording
- SDCard
- Camera (still have some issue)
- HW acceleration (should be working)
- Video playback
confirmed
Thanks a lot, @AGONTUK! If I had my secondary partitions created I would be testing it right now. I'll wait for more stable releases.
Well done! Your work is awesome!
It looks nice. But app always reload when i open another apps. I can make phone call, message received.
Some screenshots
Is the files in zip in regular format or in *.dat format? I am interested in extracting some files.
Launcher Replacement
I am not kumquat user, but I am pretty much interested in its development, so I am happy XU finally has cm12, but I find the launcher is not the one, so apart from using Google Now Launcher, you can use this launcher which comes with CM12 of many phones. Its in attachments.
First try to install it as normal apk, if not try pushing it to system with correct permissions.
Make a release for Xperia Sola as well please?
Really really good
I have done some tests and this is my report:
- Camera working both pictures and video
- Bluetooth working
- Wi-fi working
- RIL working
- Video playback working with some bugs (I think for OMX)
I have some problems with the auto-rotation and audio when listening music... I don't know why...
Obviously the ram management is very poor but we are in beta stage, so this is normal
In my log i've tested camera, wi-fi, bluetooth, music and something else... i hope it can help. @AGONTUK if you need help, count me in
you have many app redraws?
try this,
changes ro.sys.fw.bg_apps_limit=16 to ro.sys.fw.bg_apps_limit=24 and see the magic
PS ...many thanks to Agontuk whho gave us the "5.0"
First impressions of the ROM, it is stable, not randomly rebooting or anything. But it is slow, and I mean way slower than CM11. To even make the keyboard work I had to download trickster apk to tweak the minfree values so I could sign into google play. And after that there is lag in apps, sometimes in app I press the back button and it freezes for a minute or so with black screen, and is super annoying. The trick my @madz13 seems to work, but still multitasking is not something that is going to happen on this ROM. My advice, it's not ready to be a daily driver yet, only try it if you are willing to deal with the issues.
For the dev, Sir you are amazing. I would have never thought this device would come as far as 4.4, let alone 5.0, and you have done that. And for that I thank you. Keep up the good work!
@small2cats482 , you were rights, IMO do not install gapps(gplay & play service) , now I can chatting via bbm n I can writing with original keyboard and did not found any disappearing keyboard, yeah this is true is not ready for daily driver because its stiil on beta stage,
I couldn't wait to install this ROM on my XU. Here's my observations after some time of using it:
- Camera works (photos)
- Video recording works (well, sort of)
- YouTube isn't working
- Twitch as well as YT (logs below)
Captured videos looks like they are corrupted:

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 5 (Lollipop), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:
#include
/*
*/
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Installation:
For switching to F2FS, see POST#3
1. Download ROM zip and GApps zip.
2. Extract boot.img from the zip and flash it via fastboot
3. Boot into recovery.
4. Wipe System, Data, Cache, Dalvik Cache.
5. Flash ROM zip. (it may take some time)
6. Reboot to system and let it settle.
7. Reboot and flash GApps zip. You must flash gapps after every upgrade to CM12 since /system is formatted, wiping your previous add-ons.

About feedback:
We always welcome any kind of feedback, but if you report a bug, please, do it in a proper way, make a full detailed description about how to reproduce that bug, explain which add-ons you installed, tell us if you wiped cache and dalvik-cache or if you made a clean install, also, is very helpful to attach a logcat reproducing that bug, here you have a great guide about how to report a bug and take a logcat

F.A.Q.
1) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58478000&postcount=88
2) How to increase system memory?
Follow the instructions at this thread to create a swap file http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2359182
I have found the recommended configurations to be quite effective, Only one swap file of the recommended size i.e. about 188MB will fix many things.
3) How to switch between EXT4/F2FS ?
After you formatted to F2FS, you don't need to do it again.
vii) Remember, to flash rom successfully your /data and /cache partition have to be in F2FS format.
Issues
1) If you don't get root access, change Root Access to Apps and ADB in Developer Options and then back to Apps only

1. There are a way lot of memory leaks in the rom (greater than 5.0.1 AOSX).
In file manager(not Cyanogen FM), for example, I've to go 'UP' instead of going 'BACK' because going back exits the file manager.
2. They keyboard isn't persistent (maybe because of memory leaks). Cannot even complete a single word until the keyboard goes off.
Also,
Found something strange -
I changed the value of ro.config.low_ram from true to false in build.prop and I experienced much smoothness in UI than when the value was true.
Plus, I got a lockscreen wallpaper because I've enable high-end graphics.

What is AOSP?
AOSP is Android as Google publish without other modifications. More or less AOSP is the Nexus devices stock rom without gapps. Anyway to get a working system me and @-+BB+- added some changes from CyanogenMod. We added also some non-AOSP features like init.d support, @alucard_24 kernel for better performance and energy saving, STweaks for advanced kernel settings and support for Over-The-Air updates through a dedicated app (OTA Updates). Maybe something else from us might be added, but please do not ask for features to be added because we're not going to add more to keep this ROM small, fast and pure.

TWRP Recovery v2.8.7.0 is suggested for installation
Devices supported: I9505, I9507, I9508, I545, R970, I337, M919, L720. I9515 is not supported.
Verizon users: since your bootloader is locked, you must be on the VRUAMDK bootloader in order to use this ROM. Do getprop ro.bootloader in Terminal Emulator or through ADB shell to find out which bootloader you have
First time or clean install:
Download the ROM from the link above
Download GApps package for Lollipop 5.1
Put the zip files on your SDCard
Reboot in Recovery
Wipe Data / Factory Reset
Optional: convert to F2FS
Select "Install zip from SDCard"
Choose AOSP zip file
Choose GApps zip file
Reboot system
Update from a previous build:
Via OTA Updates:
Open OTA Updates app
Download the update
Press "Install"
Your device will automatically reboot and install the update.
Manual update with TWRP:
Download updated build from the link above
If you do not have the Gapps package, download Open GApps
Put the zip files on your SDCard
Reboot in TWRP Recovery
Wipe /cache and dalvik-cache
Select "Install zip from SDCard"
Choose AOSP zip file
Choose GApps zip file
Reboot system
We don't have a backup/restore GApps script yet. When you update /system is formatted, so you need to reflash GApps package too. In case you don't do it, Google Apps will fail in endless force closes after boot.
First boot after install/update takes a while, wait at least 5 minutes for it to boot.
To convert cache, data and system partitions to F2FS look in post below.

WARNING:
i tried flashing back Lineage OS 9 from backup but it would not boot up and is soft-bricked
i can only boot into download mode and only twrp-3.1.1-2-dreamlte.img works, all other's fail to boot (just freezes on TWRP logo and sometimes flickers black as it re-trying)
when i try to manually flash Lineage 9 it sais "error: this package is for dreamlte. this device is ."
i tried restoring TWRP 3.6 and Lineage OS 19 from backup but it still wont boot (just freezes again)
IT IS NOT BOOTLOOPING
restoring the stock S8 rom that i backed up a year ago with TWRP seemed to fix it, not sure if it has something to do with EFS and/or Baseband partition or some other partition (i has every partition backed up) so i am not sure what fixed it
TO CLARIFY
i flashed dreamlte version of LOS 19 ROM then dreamlte version of TWRP 3.6 and it booted
then after a while i flashed dreamlte version of LOS 16 from TWRP backup and i could not boot into the ROM
and then i could not boot into TWRP
i flashed dreamlte TWRP 3.2 and it still wouldnt boot into TWRP
i flashed dreamlte orangefox and it still wouldnt boot into orangefox
then i flashed dreamlte twrp 3.1.1-2 and it booted
but when i tried to manually install dreamlte version of LOS 16 but it said it requires dreamlte and my device is .
so i tried restoring TWRP 3.6 and LOS 19 and it still wouldnt boot into either
so i tried flashing my original stock S8 ROM TWRP backup and it booted
then i flashed dreamlte TWRP 3.2 and it booted
then i flashed dreamlte orangefox and it booted
then i flashed dreamlte version of LOS 16 and worked and it booted
then i flashed dreamlte version of LOS 16 from TWRP backup and it booted
is there an option to disable Fast Charging? bacause i couldn´t found it

I had the same problem with chrome. Now i'm using opera mini, its working without freezes.
Can you add in any version of this ROM "signature spoofing"? Because, then works microG correctly.
The ROM works very good in dream2lte. Thanks for your hard works.
Recognized some freezes until now. Sometimes the whole system reports a freeze. My suggestion is that the memory isn't enough. Even writing doesn't work fluently. Is there any way to provide this into a log?
Thanks for this nice rom on android 12. Happy to test it on my S8.
It's fast. Have some bugs but nothing of bad.
Only i don't understand why google chrome and kiwi browser freezer and block. I must use firefox and opera and they works without problems.
Thanks for your hard work

Can you provide a link to the device tree for LineageOS 19.0? I'd love to make something like this for the Galaxy S9, but would need to analyse the differences between an 18.1 tree and a 19.0 tree to get it building successfully. Thanks!

Code:
/*
*/
Working:
- Wifi
- Sound
- mali drivers
- USB tethering
- HW Backed video Playback
- Ril (Mobile data, calls, sms and stuff)
- Sensors
- Buttons
- Bluetooth
- Wifi HotSpot
- MTP
- 2D and 3D gpu acceleration
- HW encoding/decoding
- Charging with device powered off
- Stuff I didn't test yet
- Camera
- GPS
- Fingerprint Sensor
- Mobicore
- SW codecs
Not Working
-
Keep in mind that a lot of LineageOS features have not been completed yet this is not a device bug and please do not report those
in this rom thread, also do not post bug reports for known issues or bug reports without proper
a) Logcat
b) proc/last_kmsg (or proc/kmsg)
c) data/tombstones
d) dmesg
Install gapps right after installing the rom itself don't try to boot to system before that if you want to use gapps (Or wipe data before installing them)
NikGapps and BiTgapps were both tested and working tho BitGapps performed better due to more up to date packages
Make sure you are using latest official TWRP before installing rom older versions do not have proper android 12 support

Thank you so much for this, you guys Rock as always, just a 1 questions and 1 request Please.
1- is root included or do we need to use Magisk after first boot ?
2- would be super great if you had put a link for Bitgapps, please don't get me wrong I know I can just google it, but because now a days there are tons of fake downloads full of viruses and ads viruses that's why , Kind request please.
3- Love you guys. Bonus comment
Do you have any Gcam mod recommendation? And if anyone knows of any custom kernels that would work on Android 12/11 ROMs for the note 8 please let me know.
Pretty cool looking rom but I get an error message "android intelligence is stopping constantly".
