[Q] Updating Rom - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I have managed to root my Samsung Galaxy s2 and install a custom rom, I havn't got a clue what rom it is I think its jelly bean, how can I tell (I think there is a mention some where of jaboo)? Is it possible to update to the latest KitKat version or one that is similar/recommended, without wiping everything off my phone as its such a pain reinstalling all my apps etc?
Cheers

Unroot for Official ICS Update?

Since I'm not a pro in the rooting world of Android, I need some help. It's actually a question I want to ask.
My Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 finally told me that the official ICS update is ready for download! However, my Tab 10.1 is rooted but no custom ROMs have been flashed on it. So I basically have the stock ROM for Android 3.2
To update my Tab 10.1 to ICS, do I need to unroot it? Or is it fine to just proceed on with the update in the current rooted state?

Click to collapse
Just update it, no need to unroot.

[Q] S3 cannot reboot after install a older version of stock rom?

I update my s3 to android 4.1.1 yesterday. Then I saw a leaked rom android 4.1.2 in sammobile today. I installed it and found out that it has a lot of bugs. I tried to install android 4.1.1 back and after install, my phone cannot boot. What should I do?
One more thing, I can stall android 4.1.2 (the leaked rom) and can reboot. But I cannot reboot after I install android 4.1.1 rom.
try a factory reset
Thx. I fix it. :good::good::good::good:

[Q] Installing CWM on stock 4.3

Hey everyone, as of right now, is there no way to get the CWM recovery on an S4 (AT&T) that has been updated to 4.3?
What would the process be, if possible of flashing back to a 4.2.2 rom.
I'm looking to install Cyanogenmod, but can't seem to do so, mainly because I can't get into CWM, and I have a feeling its because I'm on 4.3...
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Rooting galaxy s2

Hello. Recently I've installed CM 10.2 with installer. Phone doesn't seem to be rooted,as installer may have locked it again? The thing is I want to root it and the question is ,do I do it the same way I found on some guide for 4.1.2 stock JB, where they first use Jeboo kernel, then root phone, or I go straight to root? I am confused since I cm 10.2 is android 4.3 jb version and I believe it has different kernel than stock already.

[Q] Google Play Mod on Rooted TouchWiz

Hi,
After several procrastinations, I finally rooted my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (WiFi only) (GT-P3110) which
has Jelly Bean 4.1.3. For now, I do not intend to install any Custom Rom.
So, right now my Tab has a Rooted TouchWiz running Jelly Bean 4.1.3.
Now, I want to install Google Play Store Mod. I have installed Titanium Backup & backed up the Original Play Store.
1. My question is, can I install the modded version in the Rooted TouchWiz or does it require a Custom Rom?
2. I tried installing BusyBox, but it always failed. What might be the reason?
Thank you!
Will someone let me know please?
