[Q] xprivacy restricting but not faking - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I can't get xprivacy to work. I want to fake my facebook location to be San Francisco.
1)In settings I go to the field beside the search button and enter "San Francisco"
2)Press search
3)Press the save button in top right corner
Problem 1
Now if I go back to the settings San Francisco is gone and the default "Christmas Island" is back. Did the settings fail to stick?
4)I go to Facebook and click on the name
5)I check every box under location
6)I press the back button in the top right cornor
7)Now there's a red box in the left coloumn
8)I launch facebook and go to check in.
Problem 2
It says "Turn on Location" by turning on GPS and Wifi. I go to settings and it already is on.

Gmail not syncing - no option to turn sync on and off

My Gmail is no longer syncing or updating. When I go into my settings, and click on account, the option to turn sync on or off is no longer there (I'm sure there used to be a box that you could tick or untick).
Has anyone else experienced this? Are you still able to tick and untick a box to toggle sync? I am sure it has to be something stupid, but I can't figure it out.
Also, in the settings menu, I think it used to say "accounts and sync." It now says "accounts."
I did a long time ago. In trying to learn my phone i disabled tht feature with the powe too. Perhaps you did the same. Here is what you do:
press the center of your screen or anywhere for a longer pause till the "add to screen" box pops up. click the "widget" icon. Scroll down to "power tool". Tap power tool to bring it to your home screen. From here just tap the fourth icon from the left....when you do it will display a green line under it. Your ability to sync should be restored.
Let me know if this helps. It did for me.
This did the trick! Man, thanks so much. I was so confused. I must have accidentally turned it off a few days ago when I was playing with the power widget.
Thanks again!
You can hit the thanks button. I think it gives a false sense of credibility

[Q] Wifi Auto Switch ON

Hello,
I've a problem with my new XperiaS, the wifi connection automatically switch on without reason and I can't find a way to stay off.
What can i do to make sure that does not turn on without my command?
Thanks and sorry for my english.
Hello my friend!
Try to add a widget (under "Tools" if I translate it correctly from my Greek menu) that switches WiFi on/off with a simple touch.
Hold your finger for 2 seconds on your homescreen, and on the menu select "Add Widget". From the list, choose "Tools" (the one whose icon shows a switch), and choose the WiFi switch to be added.
Otherwise, go to Settings->Wireless Connections (second choice), and remove tick from WiFi. Of course, if you need to enable WiFi again, you have to tick first...

Click to collapse
Thanks for the answer, but i've already have a widget of this kind but also if I switch off wifi from the widget or from the Settings Menu, it turns ON automatically sometimes without reasons...
?! Most impressive!
Maybe you have installed any battery manipulation program from the market such as Juice Defender or Battery Saver etc.?
This kind of software can do that automatically if not set correctly (according to your needs I mean)...
If thats not what drag mentioned, I advise you reinstall the entire software with Sony update. Ad in repair your phone. Remember to back up everything.
It was fault of GoBattery, now there is still a bug because the phone tries to switch on the wifi (sometimes the wifi icon beacames grey, but not become white, and disappear) without succes.
Thanks for the info!

How to fix certain app permissions !

Hi,
I had an issue recently where i couldn't click OK to create a VPN network as OK didn't work when tapping on it. Cancel worked fine. Not sure what to call the title but here goes.
Go to Settings/Apps in top right hand corner you will have 3 dots tap that then tap "Special Access" then tap on "Apps that can appear on top"
Now you will need to figure out which app to disable.
In my case i had substratum which can appear on top as its overlays and i also had another separate app that isn't an substratum theme but also works as overlays which is a battery bar on top of the screen that i had to disable and then my OK button worked and i was able to create a VPN network.
It was a ***** to figure out so if anyone is suffering from a similar issue then here's the fix.

" step google authentication prompt freeze S21 ultra

Hi
i notices lately that the google 2 step authentication prompt became un-responsive first time the screen has been turned off after a reboot. After rebooting keeping the screen on it works, until screen off again. Its also not spolibæe to go into the google accoung and eg go through the apps that has asked for access - after screen off - the screen freezes. Its only in the google account its a problem, if the app os closed again all other apps work fine.
To replicate this try this:
open google press the login circle upper right corner
Press "administer your google account" at the top
scroll right (swipe left) to "security"
Press "security"
under "recent activity" press "review security activity"
Now you cant scroll it freezes
Any other have seen this - any solution or suggestion ?
Thanks
Nolan
I found the culprit: it is Macrodroid requiring rights to draw on overlay - if this ie disabled it works again.
But how to solve this ?
no one any idea?
