Has anyone ported Mayday to all Android devices? - Kindle Fire HDX 7" & 8.9" Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

I imagine someone is going to do it (obviously Amazon isnt going to support it) but has anyone ported the Kindle Fire HDX's "Mayday" feature/software yet for all Android devices?

It will most likely not work as Amazon can see screen and they read device info. So if and when they see a non-kindle connecting... you're either screwed or they will pass it off as a glitch and not accept the connection.

[Q] Netflix on Galaxy Tab 10.1

So, in all my searching I can find nothing to suggest anybody has gotten any of the Netflix apks out there to work on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 running HC 3.1. Am I correct? Is there no mod that can be applied to coerce it into working?
Yea no one was successful so far. I tired all the versions I could find with no luck.

Darn. I'm wondering if its even possible at this point given that nobody has been able to do it thus far. Which leaves us all waiting until Netflix decides to support our chipset.
You can always get PlayOn and stream it through your pc. That's what im doing. Works wonders.

That would require for me to be at home. In which case I would watch netflix through my ps3

That's not true. PlayOn is the software that runs on the PC. You can access all that content long as your tab has a wifi or 3g connection. Just leave your PC on.

No Tegra 2 devices have it running correct ?
I think it works on the G2X (hacked).

All .apks here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1076150) don't work.
Good thing Best Buy has a 15 day return window. Tablet without netflix is worthless. I'll wait and buy something newer down the road once netflix is supported if there's no support in 14 days.

I think I might be leaning the same way, especially since the GT10.1 doesn't have access to Google Movies either. I love the tablet. The look and feel are wonderful. But few tablet optimized apps and no Netflix makes me sad.
Well for those giving up on the tab becasue of Netflix .. all I have ot say is to each his own. At least I can watch Netflix on my phone if needs be. And I'm sure it will come sometime later. I can look at Hulu instead for now.

Well when it does work, then maybe they'll rebuy it then. No need throwing $500 around if what you're spending it on is not working out. At the end of the day its their money.

I couldn't get Hulu. I either got a message telling me to upgrade my Flash or that the site didn't work with my device. I used the debug option to set my browser to Desktop and everything. Just wouldn't work for me.

Padfone dock with RAZR

I have been using the RAZR with the lapdock for a while running ics. I'm going to order the padfone dock and test our device for compatibility. videos showing the Ports during unboxing have the same augment, but a power port may need modification.maybe it will work without that. perhaps someone could develop drivers if it isn't natively supported. What do you think?

On padfone are 3 connectors : micro hdmi, micro USB and another one connectors
You should watch unboxing all components on Droid-life.com

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but I wanted to know if this actually worked?
I see it's just USB and HDMI, but I have my doubts that the touch screen in the padfone dock would work on the Razr's operating system..? Would it need a driver? And would that driver be embedded in the Padfone's OS?

Optimum app with Live streaming

The Optimum app with live streaming has been released for the kindle fire. Any chance one of our talented devs can make it work on the prime? Seems like it works on the nexus 7 so far as per the kindle fire forum. Here is the link:

I get the same error on mine. I know the devs have been able to "fix" the same types of limitations on Netflix, Hbo Go, and Max Go in the past. Hopefully one of them will be able to "fix" this app as well.
I hope a dev can make this happen. It would be awesome!

Playstation Mobile

So, Playstation Mobile was released today. I installed the .apk on my S3 and can confirm we aren't supported.
Think anyone will release a crack?
I really don't know, it depends how the app finds out what model you are on, not compatible with hardware, possibly.
If I was Sony though I would check the model of the phone and check servers then probably not, unless people want to spoof their model number.

Hmm okay. I guess we'll be getting support at some point. There's not too many games out of it at the moment anyway.

You could try this: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/1...tion-mobile-for-android-on-any-rooted-device/
I don't know if that method works on the GS3, however. After being the unlucky owner of a 3G Vita (which I gave to my brother, who doesn't use it anymore after he got a GS2), there's no way I'm letting any **** like that onto my phone. Sony can go to hell.

An android smartphone is no replacement for a dedicated handheld games console. Actually compared to phones you get way more for your money.

I would say the other way, "It's a shame that Samsung doesn't support PlayStation mobile on such a powerful device."
I installed it with the method on Android Police, but "files over 20MB can only be downloaded via WiFi" ok uninstall.
Also @onesolo it's not Samsung, it's Sony, they make the app, they have to make it compatible, unless you want Samsung to replace all hardware in the S3 with the hardware of supported devices, then it might work.

Can i root the new kindle fire hd 6" ?

Just got the new kindle fire hd 6". Is it rootable?
Checking the system device, its running Fire OS 4.1.1 which is weird because my 7" says its running 11.3.1.0 but i think this kindle is the last generation and this 6" is the newer one.
The older one is rooted. Can i root the 6" yet or do i need to wait?

I tried doing some minor tests in fastboot mode trying to boot up a version of TWRP but the screen never turned on. Not sure if anyone is working on it. Too bad we do not have @Hashcode to help
It seems Amazon released the kernel source files for HD6 and HD7
sorry for the very naive question but can it be of any help in getting it rooted ?
