SCH-1605, Play music - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

As we all know, Play Music now supports the ability to read music from a Micro-SD. But as I when ever I load music on there, it doesn't show up in the app. Im running 4.4.2, Using the file transfer on a Mac Air. Please help!
P.S: The files are in a .M4A format, don't know if that helps or not.
Edit: As I look through file explorers on my Note 2, i find the files exactly where placed. But as soon as I open Google Play Music, the files become nonexistent

Download Location of HTC Watch Files?

Hi guys/gals I have a question does anybody know where the HTC Watch app downloads movie files that youve purchased? Im not sure if the app actually downloads the files to your phone, or if it just streams them over the net? The only reason im asking is because I would like to take all of my movies files and move them to that location so I can use the HTC Watch app to play my files. When I open up the HTC Watch app it says "No Videos Found" because I havent purchased any movies, but is there a folder I can put my files in so that they show up when I launch the app? Right now the only way to play my 3d movies with the stock player is to go into gallery find my movie and then play it but I would much rather just launch a dedicated media player app that displays all my movies files and pick which one I want to watch. I dunno maybe this cant be done lol. Thanks
I haven't downloaded any movies but the green hornet is stored on your SD card in .data---htcwatch---preloaded movies. I put some of my 3s movies that I downloaded from some websites but i still couldn't play them with the HTC watch app after moving them to that folder.

Hmm ok thanks alot! Maybe theyre encoded differently so the Watch app recognizes them.
If you can't find them on the SD, you could try /system/etc - I found the books in there.
I too am interested in figuring out how to get HTC Watch to locate, show , nd play my own movies.
I know that for the HTC Reader app that placing your own epub files into sdcard/Digital Editions will cause them to show up in the HTC app. Surely there is a similar technique for movies and HTC Watch
All HTC Watch movie files are downloaded to a hidden folder on the sd card
Use root explorer and navigate to the root of sd card, then open .data then HtcWatch folder, inside that folder will be file, preload_movies and preloads.
Open the files folder, inside there will be your downloaded files.
The downloads are in .eny format, which i have not yet been able to find what exactly can open it, besides the Htc watch player.
anyway, best of luck and let us all know if you find what mvie players can open .eny files, or at least convert them.
If you plug your phone into windows or mac be sure to enable "show hidden files"

I just downloaded a MP3 on my Lumina,.. I think

I thought i give it a try. I downloaded something from Zippyshare and it said downloading.
Last time i tried, it went streaming instantly and i was not sure how to save it on the harddisk and i thought it was some limitation put by windows.
So now i downloaded and i could listen to the track , but here is the thing. I could only open it through the webbrowser. When i go to Nokia Music, there are no songs to be found.
Which brings me to one essenstial question..Where the heck is the file explorer? On the HD2 i had one and i could make maps and copy/paste or delete. Where can i find such thing? And how do i get my downloaded mp3 to work on the music player?
Thanks
anyone? i want to know where i can find my downloaded files through the phone and how to play my downloaded mp3 files on the music player .
There is no file browser and will never be. You cant download mp3s trough the browser, only just stream it.

Not all my music showing up

My having troblem with my music not showing up, it only shows 4 songs out of 75. I tried using poweramp, playerpro, and the default music app but it still doesn't work. Any ideas?
Using ur computer just create a music folder and dump all the songs in it and try it.. Because sometimes a called .nomedia ll be present if it s then music apps wont scan those folders!!
What kind of files do not show up? Are the flacs? I find that the only player that shows/plays all file types, including flac, is andless. You can find it in google play store.

Their songs(mp3) files
Hey guys, just thought I'd help even if this is a rather old thread:
I've had the same issue as x12CHRIS18x, this happened on both a rooted stock rom Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos, and a Galaxy S III stock unrooted. Both phones had the music files (mp3 and m4a) in the "Music" folder on the external SDcard.
Apparently, a reboot solved the issue on both devices, but I wouldn't want to do that everytime I copied music to my phone.
So I just went ahead and opened a File Manager app called ES File Explorer, Hit the menu button, tapped on Library, then Music, tap on Refresh icon on the bottom bar of the app, then hit "Notify System Refresh" it will take a few sec./minutes depending on the size of your Music Library.
I figured what this does is it forces an "indexing" on all media files found on your device, depending on what type of Library you selected, in this case, music.
Hope this helped someone who also had this issue.

google play store movie download directory

When you download a google play movie. What directory are they downloaded in. I want to try to put it on sd card after that point for more space when offline. Although I know its probably not possible. That is fine. But does anyone know where its downloaded and what format ? Oh yah I know internal phone memory but where.
THanks,
Ok does anyone at least know the file extension will be ? If you could tell me that I could find the directory . I know it will be at root level
Ok I finally figured out where it is stored. So I temp unrooted my phone made purchase and then selected download for offline viewing. So in the directory there is a file
application_4jSa8szMNjs.wvm
so i brought my root back to get into that directory then where i was stumped i figured it would be wmv mp4 3gp or whatever with drm protection but no its wvm I have never heard of wvm. so anyways I moved the wvm file to a different directly. Temporarily unrooted my phone . Then went into the google play movie app and it said that the download was missing. so i know I have the proper file. Now my question is does anyone here know anything about a .wvm file ?
Wvm is a file format used by a program called wave to store engine data. Shouldn't be possible to have it as a video file but you can open the file on a pc using vlc media player and use its view codec menu option to see what codecs are used.
It could be just named .wvm so people can't guess its codec by the file extension but vlc would tell you.

Where is the file stored?
thanks
wvm
okay, so from what I can tell the file is stored in:
/sdcard/Android/data/com.google.android.videos/files/Movies/****.wvm
I downloaded the file, and opened it in VLC Media Player and it shows:
- Stream 0
---Type Audio
---Codec: MPEG Audio layer 1/2/3 (mpga)
---Sample rate: 22050 Hz
---Bitrate 80kb/s
I can only think that this is either the audio file and the video file is sitting somewhere else, or that this is the video and audio file and it is encrypted in such a way that it is only recognized as audio.

You should be able to tell if it is really just audio by the files size in megabytes.
If it is small it is likely just audio.

i was wondering the same thing. Found the movie in the place mentioned, it's called framwork_345345_blahblah.wvm
I can play the opening "20 the century fox" part in any media player then it hangs. However, Gallery can play it fine. I am going to try and move it out and put it in my movies dir and see if gallery sees it .. nope, it will play from that directory if I use Gallery as the player, but the Gallery up doesn't show it as a movie in my movies list. Wonder if I play with the extension...
Edi: nope, even changing the extension to mp4 didn't work. Unless gallery didn't refresh or something.

Yes, the movies are removed.
I have a similar issue....but I'm going to add a little twist here.
So I purchased the Wolverine DVD from Walmart, it came with a digital copy and a code to be able to download a copy from the Google Play Store. I did this, and then decided to move the movie to my external SD card. When I try to play the movie, it hangs during the "Universal Studios" opening at about 12 seconds in and then displays "Video cannot be played". I've downloaded countless different video players, but all have the same result.
Now here's the twist.... I used a file explorer app to locate the video folder and selected the movie file, it gave me the options to select which of the many video players installed I wanted to use to play the movie, I selected the stock player, and played the video through there instead of opening it from a video app directly, this time it worked! The movie opened, and played fine, but when I stoped the movie and tried to use the same procedure again, it failed and now displays "Video cannot be played" yet again.
Now no matter what I try, I can't get the video to play. This is very confusing, how can it work once, and then not work again, almost as if it got corrupted? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If you copy that .wvm file to your desktop on your computer, you can use Handbrake to convert it.. Just FYI
Can anyone confirm that using hand brake works to make it play

I can confirm that you can't. I purchased the HD version of Elf for $5 and moved a copy of the file to my computer. When I try to open the file with HandBrake, it states: Scan failed: Unrecognized file type.
Would be nice to figure out how to remove the DRM on the google play movies so I can play them on the TV without having to purchase a chromecast. I wouldn't mind one, but it sucks being forced into it. Only other option is to download the BD copy online.
Hello,
I m a new user to this group. Would like to post my views since I was searching for the same thing as you guys are.
I downloaded couple of movies from playstore. Reading the previous comments, I went to the directory - Andorid/data/com.google.android.videos/files/Movies/*. there I found 3 directories - knowledge, subtitles and some blasdfjsd. I checked all 3 and came to know the last directory fjsdnfdjnd, contains my movies since the file size was huge.
I have Astro File Manager, using it, I copied one video file from that dfdsjnfdsjf folder, pasted it in Downloads folder. Then I selected that file -> Open As. It gave me some options. One of them is Video. Selected it. A list of video players came up.
Selected MX Player since its very renowned n can play any format. Ta Da. It starts working fine. I can play, pause, stop.
Only thing needs to be remembered is, for playing this file, you have to go in file explorer and then play as MX player.
If I open MX player to search for the file, I cannot see it in the directory.
I hope, i answered correctly.
Thanks.

You're right, it worked for me many times until I moved the file and renamed it. This thread has been very helpful. Thanks OP and all!
Will someone please post instructions on how to download a movie you purchased on google play, and then move that movie to a laptop to watch on the laptop? Perhaps also give instructions on how to convert it to an mp4? perhaps also give instructions on how to remove DRM?
is this impossible?
Ok, so I'm able to download wvm file, and transfer to the PC. but how can you convert OR watch that movie file on a laptop without an internet connection?

[Q] Google play music

I've downloaded music from googly play music to my external sd card. When using file explorer or another music app I can't locate any of my music I've bought.
Is it possible to find the music mp3's somehow?
Anyone help please?
If you're talking about all access music, it is only playable with Google app. Btw, you have to look in hidden android folder, in google play music. Can't remember exact path, but it's there.
If you're talking about your purchased music, might be much better to sync/download your music to your pc, then transfer on SD card. That way filenames will be preserved, rather than numbered, as is the case with play music app downloads.
