ROM/RADIO CONFUSION?
We developers are still getting a handle on exactly what changes were made in LMD47D, E, M, I and LVY57H and which radio works best for which carrier. Keep in mind that this ROM will run with any of those radios, just be sure to use the radio that is best for your carrier. You are likely to get service on any carrier using any of the three available bootloaders/radios but based on feedback in multiple threads and user testing, it is my recommendation that:
- T-Mobile users use the LMY47M bootloader/radio (flash via TWRP - thanks @scrosler)
- Everyone else use the LMY47E bootloader/radio (batch file: flash via fastboot - thanks @scrosler)
NEED A PROXIMITY SENSOR FIX?
MeanPop v2.09 now has the proximity sensor fix built in: you will not have proximity sensor issues with this ROM!
For those running other 5.1 ROMs, some users are experiencing problems with the increased sensitivity of the proximity sensor on 5.1 ROMs and are cutting, removing, or buying new screen protectors to fix the problem. This is no longer necessary! Just download my proximity sensor fix. It should fix your proximity sensor on any 5.1 stock based ROM. Installation is simple: just install your ROM and then flash the fix over top.
SECTION I: ROM SPECS
The clean:
Built on stock 5.1.0 LVY47H
Smooth and stable (I don't release betas)
User configurable options (see post 2) - set once and they stick through updates: no weeding through Aroma settings with each update!
The mean:
Performance tweaks
Screen on/off performance and battery tweaks for snappier UI and better battery
The nice:
Rooted (SuperSU)
Non-forced encryption
init.d support
Signature checking disabled
De-odexed for your modding pleasure
Zipaligned
6 way power/reboot menu (includes ability to turn off ambient display when you pick up the phone - useful when phone is in a moving vehicle)
To disable ambient display activation due to movement when in a vehicle, long press power and check the box for "Ambient Pickup OFF" (ambient display will still light for incoming notifications)
Re-enable ambient display on pickup with a long press on power, then check "Ambient Pickup ON"
Built in proximity sensor fix: you will not have the black-screen-in-calls issue with this ROM and your ambient display will work
Fixed low/inconsistent initial volume of ringtones and alarms (5.1 bug)
Clear all recent tasks
Battery % on status bar
Battery % on ambient display
Color battery text: white --> yellow --> red based on battery level (configurable - see post 2)
Ability to disable proximity sensor for those having black screen issues in calls on 5.1 ROMs (see post 2)
Ability to disable proximity sensor for ambient display (see post 2)
Native notification LED w/color support (solid or flashing - see post 2)
User configurable LED color priority: make your most important colors "stick" (see post 2)
Native LED can be turned off by modifying the last line in /system/build.prop (debug.nativeled=false)
Set your own LED blink rates (on/off times) in /data/meanpop.opt (see post 2)
Fast blinking blue LED for missed calls
Quick flash charging LED (red = charging, green = full, see post 2)
Ability to turn on/off LED notifications from the power menu (now you can sleep without the blinking and still see status when you turn notification LED back on)

Reduced navigation height for more screen real estate (configurable: see top of post 2)
Adaptive brightness adjustments (brighter in bright light such as outdoor indirect sunlight)
Ambient notification - longer display time and slower fade-out
Ambient notification motion sensing improvements (display activates more consistently)
Ambient display lights once for each new notification instead of each notification reactivating the display several times over several minutes
Ambient display works indefinitely instead of stopping after 3 notifications
Ambient display shows time w/seconds and date
Fixed (stock) bug where ambient display can be up to several minutes slow
Double tap home for screenshot
Hold back button for screen off
Battery %
Battery green when charging, shows % while charging
Bonus ringtones, notifications, and alarms from other devices
Stock Android so no carrier bloatware (you'll have to install that yourself)
This is based on Google stock: so gapps already installed
More to come...
Changelog is in post #2
Problems?
Everything has been tested and is working based on initial tests. Since 5.1.0 is a new base, however, if you run into any problems, please just reply in this thread and I'll check into it.
Credit where credit is due:
As with any open source stuff, some of this work is my own and some comes from other sources. So in addition to my own work (mostly in the "mean" category), here's a quick thanks to those of you who contributed knowingly (thank you) and not-so-knowingly via open source 5 finger discount (thank you just the same: your stuff is good and that's why I used it). Sometimes it's not entirely obvious where the source started so if I missed someone, please let me know and I'll add you. Also, I'm careful to only include other work where the author does not specify any usage restrictions or has given approval. If you believe, however, that I've included something that shouldn't be in this ROM, please just PM me.
@scrosler: I started with your stock 5.1 LVY47H odex ROM, so thank you!
@scrosler for your help on the clear all recent tasks mod
Thanks @r4wOne for the MeanPop logo
Want my stuff?:
I list credits in the features section above and links to original works: if you see something credited there and you want to use it, click the link and seek permission from the developer I've credited. If you see something in this ROM and I don't reference some other source, I probably coded it myself. If you want it: take it and use it in your ROM, your theme, whatever you like. I just ask that you please credit me. I'm a firm believer in Android and open source so you don't even have to ask. Anything you see here... it's yours for just the price of a simple line crediting me. I always share as I believe that's the way we developers put the power in Android... and one way we can fight "the Apple brainwashing machine".
SECTION II: FLASHING NOTES
Below are some pointers on flashing before we get to the good stuff (installation and downloads).
Problems after you flash?:
PLEASE DO NOT REPORT PROBLEMS IN THIS THREAD UNTIL you've done a full wipe and fresh install to see if that cures it. I know I should really just do like most devs and proclaim REQUIRES FULL WIPE/FRESH INSTALL on every version. That saves me a lot of headaches but I know what a PITA a fresh install can be even with MyBackup or Titanium at your disposal. So it never hurts to try just a flash without a full wipe, but if you run into any HINT of a problem... anything at all... don't report the problem in this thread until you've tried a full wipe and fresh install first to see if that cures the problem!
Note regarding tweaks: don't flash tweaks or themes on top unless you KNOW the tweak/theme is compatible with the the 5.0.1 base
Flashing - a final note:
Use this ROM at your own risk as I won't be responsible for bricks or any other untoward happenings. I spent a lot of time ensuring that the stuff in this ROM is fast, smooth, and compatible. But... it always helps to have some familiarity with flashing ROMs to keep yourself safe. If you're starting from stock, be sure to familiarize yourself with the unlocking/rooting process (from other threads) before flashing this ROM.
SECTION III: INSTALLATION
Download links are below
Now to installation of the ROM itself...
Always make a backup before installing anything on your phone!
Make sure you already have the proper bootloader/radio installed: I recommend T-Mobile customers use @scrosler's LMY47M radio/bootloader (flashable ZIP) and everyone else use his LMY47E bootloader/radio (fastboot batch file).
On first install of MeanPop, do a full wipe (although if you are coming from a stock 5.0.1 or 5.1.0 base, you can try a dirty flash).
Subsequent updates: no wiping necessary BUT...
If you have any trouble at all, do a full wipe and then reinstall
Install using recovery (I use latest TWRP)
SECTION IV: DOWNLOAD
... you're gonna break it!
Don't flash any other mods, tweaks, or themes unless they specifically say they are built for (the latest version of) MeanPop or you WILL break features in this ROM and/or cause instability! While this ROM is designed to have the general look/feel of the stock ROM, it is highly customized under the hood and mods, tweaks, or themes not designed specifically for this ROM will cause problems. If you want this ROM to run perfectly without any issues, do not flash anything on top.
NEW releases (5.1.0):
Note: coming from MeanPop v1.x, v2.x (or any stock based 5.0.1 or 5.1.0 ROM for that matter): YES! You can dirty flash! But if you run into problems, please factory reset and install fresh before reporting issues.
Just remember to flash the 5.1 radio/firmware before flashing MeanPop v2.x.

Donations are greatly appreciated! If you use this ROM as your daily driver, please consider contributing. This development takes time from my regular job so more contributions = more of my time.
Mike

OPTIONS AND CONFIGURING:
(scroll down for changelog)
Options (flashable ZIPs):
Look in your /data/MeanPop folder
stock-nav-bar.zip - flash this to restore stock navigation bar height
stock-proximity-5.1.zip - flash this if you have no trouble with the proximity sensor on 5.1 ROMs and you'd rather use the stock 5.1 proximity sensor code
CPU optimizations:
If you are running a custom kernel, I would recommend turning off the CPU optimizations. Open /data/meanpop.opt and set:
CPUOPT="false"
Color Battery Text
If you would rather have plain white battery text instead of the default color-level text, open /data/meanpop.opt and set:
BATTCOLOR="false"
Configuring the LED options:
Flashing notification LED and user configurable color priority is now available:
- Use Root Explorer or other root file explorer and open /data/meanpop.opt and edit parameters to your liking
- Set priorities so your more important LED colors stick and are not overwritten by lower priority colors
- Priority 9 will never overwrite priority 8, priority 8 will never overwrite priority 7, and so on
- Keep all priorities set to the default 9 if you don't care and always want to see the most recent notification color
- Default LEDBLINK mode is "auto" = LED will blink as long as there are not more (different) color notifications "underneath". If multiple color LED notifications exist, the LED goes solid.
- When LEDBLINK is set to "true", the LED always blinks
- When LEDBLINK is set to "false", the LED will always be solid
- You can open /data/meanpop.opt and change the blink rate (ON ms and OFF ms - see last two lines in that file)
- Don't go crazy with the blink rates: I recommend keeping the on and off periods at 500ms or higher
- New: LEDCHARGEMS controls how long the LED flashes when charging (red = charging, green = full). Set LEDCHARGEMS=0 to disable charging LED flash.
Notes on native LED... should you use it?:
The native notification LED built into this ROM needs a wake lock to run the LED, but only when the LED is actually on or blinking. Even with nativeled enabled, the phone will deep sleep as long as the LED is off but when the LED is on (solid or flashing), a wake lock is acquired and your phone will use slightly more battery. The difference in battery usage, however, is minimal and the fraction of extra battery used to run the LED is well worth the feature! Even with the LED on or blinking constantly, your phone will typically use only around 1% battery per hour with the screen off/idle.
If you don't plan to use the LED at all, I would recommend opening /data/meanpop.opt (you can do that with something like Root Explorer), and changing this line:
NATIVELED="false"

Yeah. I started with the Evo 3D and then developed for the Evo 4G LTE and later the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. I'm on the Nexus 6 now: figured it was time for a true Android device.

Clear All and Power Menu....?

Welcome Mikey! I ran nothing but MeanBean on my EVO4GLTE. Glad to see you made the move to Nexus device.

Power menu is provided in the included Quick Boot app. I find that faster and easier than using the power button anyway (plus it saves your power button) but my intent is to not code stuff that already exists. That way I have time to do the stuff no one has done yet... and I don't have to redo it every time there is a base update.
As for clear all, I personally don't see any need for it: let the OS do what it does. But if lots of people want it, I can look into coding it.
Mike

Alright downloading this finally

Welcome to this awesome phone!! This ROM sounds promising from the other comments I've read, can't wait to flash it!

WHAT IS POWER BATTERY ?
Is an application that has been developed Kisler to improve the battery and in which we can select a number of options available to suit our needs can optimize the duration of battery . The idea of this application has been to combine options that are useful for battery management and in turn be simple to use for everyone .
OPTIONS AND WHAT BRINGS ?
To improve this consumption have a number of options are:
Battery Percentage : This section is intended to determine the percentage of battery from Battery Power shall act performing the operations described below, default is 15 %.
BASIC SETTINGS
Wireless Mode: Selecting this option turns off the wifi if you have it activated before entering in the range of battery action defined in the beginning to Battery Power .
Data Mode : Selecting this option disables the data if activated before entering them in the range of battery action defined in the beginning to Battery Power .
Sync Mode: Selecting this option disables the synchronization should have it checked before entering the battery range of action defined in the beginning to Battery Power .
Bluetooth Mode: Selecting this option disables the bluetooth if you have it activated before entering in the range of battery action defined in the beginning to Battery Power .
mode Location: Selecting this option disables the location should have it checked before entering the battery range of action defined in the beginning to Battery Power .
Silent mode : Selecting this option disables the sound / vibration should have it checked before entering the battery range of action defined in the beginning to Battery Power .
Led Mode: Selecting this option disables the LED notification should have it checked before entering the battery range of action defined in the beginning to Battery Power .
ADVANCED
Mode Range: detects a known and active wifi zone wifi to connect automatically or off when leaving the area. (Discussed in detail below).
CPU Mode: Reduces CPU frequency automatically when entering the range defined in Battery Power Battery .
CPU Maximum Frequency : Defines how often you will use the CPU and the CPU mode , default 540 MHz
OPTIONS SCREEN
Brightness Mode : Reduces brightness automatically when entering the range defined in Battery Power Battery .
Brightness Percentage : Brightness Percentage to be applied in the glow mode , default 0 %.
Dark Mode: Controls the brightness as if it were an automatic but with lower values to making work less and reducing the brightness sensor
Pocket Mode: Turn the screen to remove the phone from his pocket and is optimized to consume less than the native rom
Notification Mode: If a notification arrives for a few seconds to pick up the phone turns on the screen without pressing the (must activate accessibility " settings / accessibility / power battery" )
Notification Time : used in the second mode is defined notification
HOURS SMOOTH
Hours Mode : Turn the hour mode to manage data and wifi connection at a time interval.
Week end mode : Activates the alternate schedule for weekend
Restore Links: Restore connections to turn the screen during the hours so
Disable Sensors: Disables the sensors during the quiet hours
Set time : Set the time and day of the week that will activate the quiet hours
PROFILES
These options are combined with profiles Cyanogenmod . Its operation is as follows:
Battery power gives you the option to choose 2 profiles ( of Cyanogenmod ) for that you must enter the name of the previously created profile in the " Settings / Profiles " on Battery Power (default is "Home" and " street" ) . In each of the profiles you can enter a range of performance Power Battery, for example in the profile " House " 15% if we select the profile " Street " 25% . This is so that the Battery Power switch profiles automatically change its range of action and will know when your battery should act removing the options that you feel is necessary . To enable the use of profiles with Cyanogenmod Power battery is made from the " Profile Mode " option.
If not select any profile or the profile used is not one defined in Power Battery percentage to be used will be the first that we have defined earlier .
DISCLAIMER MODE RANGE
This mode produces no wakelock , battery consumption or anything similar . It is designed to conserve battery power in the event that we get out of range of our wifi preventing the active connection be used and consumed without activating it when we get to a place where there is a known wifi stay.
To do this I have based on location through LAC and Cell ID , or put more colloquially by the position of the antennas.
In the picture above you can see a simple design of antennas and radios. Battery Power antenna detects how you are and if you are in your area or not. To do this the first time I conectéis the wifi zone start checking nearby antennas ( depending on the house may be affected by one or more antennas ) .
Once detected out of the range of action of these antennas ( this may vary ) check the state of wifi is connected and if it will be off. The opposite case is that when entering the range of a registered as a wifi access point antenna, wifi be activated.
In the case we are in the same location, for example our home and want to disable / enable wifi to not have changed position we can do like coming to a new area to choose a new wifi network , since disconnection / automatic connection is made just by changing antenna .
In the event that wifi is turned off before choosing a new wifi network you connect may be due to a crossing of antennas ( due to the change from one to another so quickly disconnection may occur ) and if the problem persists after several attempts the solution may be to move a few steps to avoid this junction or off the range mode temporarily to introduce this new wifi.
Advantages of this: It has no wakelock , maximum energy savings by not using the location network location.
Disadvantages: If you are traveling to a remote area of your home, but that you get that antenna signal , being detected as " known antenna " believes these at home and activate the signal . This drawback will very much depend on where you live each and the number of antennas that affect the area. As a rule in the city or area where a large number of antennas work better this way .

I'm going to flash tomorrow. Thanks for info.
Just flashed on my T-Mobile XT1053 works great only thing I have noticed I am only showing 4G on the status bar icon I have network settings correct as far as I can tell it as good as the stock I came from Thanks Core720, I also had RAZR HD seen you over there so I knew this was going be good
Rom runs great I ran into a coupe of issues I couldn't get assist to work so I decided to backup and restore Stock - I am still on TWRP 2.7.0.0 and my backup failed but it did show in the restore and in storage I should
have updated to 2.7.1.1 and I didn't try to restore it rather I restored stock and tested the assist in car and it worked without a hitch not sure what happened would like to hear from other XT1053 users on this anyway I will give it a go tomorow if time permits my device showed as the XT1058 in settings will edit build prop next time -
Can i flash it on xt1052?

To God be the glory, my AOKP NOUGAT project finally works!
This is not a dirty unicorn. This is the original unicorn, the AOKP. Now made out of Nougat! That's right, all of the AOKP stuff you love, plus LineageOS, plus a built in side bar, and more! All wrapped up into one! With tons of settings from status bar tweaks to button remaps, it's all here and ready to rumble!
**** This is an UNOFFICIAL ROM. Install at your own risk! ****
You must be on a 6.0.1 Bootloader with a 6.0.1 modem! I suggest if you are unsure, flash stock 6.0.1, then install this ROM!

Data Fix (For T-Mobile phones):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...ment/ril-data-fixes-6-0-1-bootloader-t3546110
However, the T-Mobile variant already has it's very own version of this rom in the T-Mobile thread! I did test this however, and it works.
Be sure to follow these installation steps very carefully, as they may be different then what you are used to.
Installation instructions:
-Put your phone on the 6.0.1 Bootloader and Modem
-Download ROM and gapps, and put them on your phone or external storage.
-Reboot into recovery mode - TWRP (I personally installed this using Mickey's 3.0.0-0).
-Backup what you had. (Just to be safe.)
-Wipe. (I personally wipe everything prior to flashing new roms, but at least do the basic wipe.)
-Install Rom.
-Install Gapps. - Optional
- If using the kernel, let the rom boot, then come back to recovery and flash the AKLU kernel.
- If using another variant, let the rom boot, then come back to recovery and flash a data zip.
-Reboot to system and enjoy!
I do not recommend installing superSU on this ROM! SU permission is already built in, and superSU has been causing problems with the rom. Please read the thread for further details.
What works :
Code:
+ Phone calls/receiving
+ Data 2g/3g/LTE
+ Bluetooth
+ WiFi
+ MTP
+ GPS/Glonass
+ S PEN
+ The WiFi hotspot does work with the AKLU kernel.
etc....
What doesn't :
Code:
- The edge panel is not implemented at this time. The screen wraps around the edge.
But there is an app bar feature under ROM CONTROLS!
- The capacitive buttons work, but do not illuminate.
- The WiFi hotspot does not work with the stock kernel, but does with the AKLU kernel.
- Fingerprint sensor is really flaky. I got it to work once with fingerprint scanner tools to turn on the flashlight, but only once. Most times it will not register.
- I have not found any big errors, fault crashes, or problems yet. Please let me know if you find an issue!
This AOKP N ROM was built for the tbltexx, the International Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. I have not tried this on any other device, but you are welcome to try it AT YOUR OWN RISK. You may need to edit the META-INF updater script to accomplish this. Note, this can flash directly to the T-Mobile variant, but the T-Mobile variant has it's own thread with this rom: https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...evelopment/rom-aokp-nougat-built-bar-t3558263

Background image:

The background images that I used in this ROM came from the Quiet Learner. You should check out his mathematical artwork, including 3D mandelbox images!
If the screen looks red-ish, check the settings->display->live display options, you may want to turn them off, it is a low light sensitive display option.
Data Zips: T-Mobile users with device model = unknown:
If you are using a N915T (like myself), the fix is very easy!
-Open /system/build.prop in any text editor
-Anywhere in the file, add this line:
Code:
ro.build.model=SM-N915T
Save and exit, then reboot your phone. You can check "about phone" under settings, you should see yourself as SM-N915T, and apps like XDA should report you as Samsung Galaxy Note Edge.
Apps:
Swiftkey Keyboard - This keyboard can be set so the keyboard does not wrap around the screen.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.touchtype.swiftkey
Spen Command - This app cost a few dollars, but enables the Spen to be somewhat smart again, rather than just a pointer stick.

When u say built in sidebar what do u mean? And I would love to try it but I really want an overclocked kernel something like
2.9ghz or so with GPU overclocked to around 750-800. The reason being is that when I use the emotion kernel I get insane GPU scores, around 26,000 compared to the 19,000 range with the aokp kernel. If u could do that I would s**t my pants lol. I would do it but I can't seem to figure out how to build the kernel and since u upgraded to the new 6.0 bootloader does your kernel building guide got updates on that so I can at least give it a shot again?
Hi... this ROM is also compatible with the model Verizon, Sprint, US Cellular (SM-N915P, SM-N915V, SM-N915R4)?! Thanks!
come from rr 5.8
Hi i tested this rom now for a few hours and it runs very smooth. For the moment i did not find any issues.

By side bar app, I do not mean the "edge" panel, but with the popularity of edge style phones, the AOKP has implemented a type of panel that when you tap the curved edge of the screen, a pop out drawer of your selected apps shows on the edge area.
Yes well, my kernel is a bit more on the conservative side. But, as always, I do encourage everyone to start building, it's really fun and rewarding.
As for the build instructions, they are the same, just with the new material, so I will not be updating them at this time.

I installed the ROM yesterday. I came from the European/German Version MM 6.0 N915FYXXU1DPE1_DBT. I followed the instructions on the first post and had no problems. I installed the AKLU-Kernel, too.
There's no edge and the fingerprint works bad. Finally I'm only working with a PIN. But the ROM is fast, stable, slim and it runs very smooth. I hope, that the development of this ROM goes on.
Next I try the implemented edge-feature and the hint for SPen-using by a third-party app. And perhaps I'll format the sd-card as internal storage. But for that I need a better card.
Thank you very much for this great work. :good:

So I can build using the guide and it will be the 6.0 kernel source? Or the 7.1 source?

Use the nougat source from my github to build the aklu kernel. I also recommend the 4.8 arm eabi toolchain.
When the lock screen wake up automatically to show a notification, the display is very dark. Is there a setting to change this?
Thank you
Apropos, the SPenCommand-app from post 1 is very good. Better than the original tool from Samsung itself.

I do not know for sure. You can try, but you may need to edit the updater-script.
Hope that helps!
Loaded up the TMO version and so far is running smooth with the exception of some weirdness around the back and recent apps hw buttons. They seem to be acting properly but are not lighting up. I went into ROM control and tried to adjust. Interestingly when I have the screen open for adjusting time on they do light up, but then go black again after closing the adjustment box. There is also no vibration when hitting those 2 buttons. Im not getting anything useful in the logs that I can see. I tried reflashing but no change in behavior. Any suggestions? Am I the only one seeing this?
By the way, this rom supports substratum (oms).
I tested the inversion ui theme successfully.
I can confirm, that the lights don't go.
Is the battery drain better with the original kernel from the rom? The AKLU kernel is fast and hungry.

Yes, I also see that only the red led and yellow led are working for notifications. I'll take a look at that later as well. Thanks for the feed back!
As for the kernel, the cm kernel is something I don't use much, so I am not too sure how it is on battery.
I too had a battery drain issue, but when I agent to the battery stats I saw that the phone was waking up all the time. I then realized that my email app, blue mail, was not optimized, nor was my freelab messenger, once I optimized those, the battery life improved. I do agree though, it could be better.
As I am sure you know, your settings, like in kernel adiutor, will have a significant impact on your battery. The default settings are aggressive.

Thank you!
Next step is then the bigger one. I'll finish up merging stuff from the 10 and release the beta. Shouldn't take long, as I've already started.
It boots ?
Thank you so much for this, looking forward to see the featureful version in the future.
I'll report back if I hit any issues.

@Oddvin94 @S3V3N @wiccan-two there you go, beta1.
Please let me know if the configuration app starts right, and showing the configuration well.
In UX tab (bottom second icon), Gestures/Extras (Phone icon with arrows around it), K.Adaway option should be there if everything went fine.
All other functionality needs validation.
The tricky one was Colored Charging led (turns slowly from amber to green as battery charges from 0 to 100%), U Ultra has new driver.
Also flashlight notification was tricky merge.
Another one is if you enable Face down screen off, if the Companion app detects proximity and also face down horizontal position.
Thanks and merry xmas

Thanks, if it just booted that's already a great result. let me know
The rest will need longer validation hopefully with not many issues
I will also try to get my fingers on a PC later and try it out.
But what should I do when I want to start with a clean, new ROM? When to install?
But very nice to see a kernel over here on the ultra ?
Merry Christmas to all!

Hi
After all is setup with the rom and works nicely then reboot to recovery, backup boot partition, then flash this and install like detailed.
You can also use this whole stuff without custom rom, without root or magisk. Every stuff works that way too if you prefer stock with a custom kernel. Then just backup your boot partition in twrp, install and profit
So all boots fine with the beta and the apps install and seem to work as described.
However my fingerprint scanner/home button is completely dead now. I've had intermittent problems with it for a while now but it airways came back after a short wait. Now even the settings for it won't open. It may be a full reset to get it working I think (unless anyone else has any ideas).

ArrowOS
ABOUT
ArrowOS is an AOSP based open source project started with the aim of keeping things simple, clean and neat, both for the Android system and users. We understand the pain of unnecessary and sometimes rarely used mods/features being shipped with custom roms nowadays which may end up causing battery drains and/or memory leaks & crashes. This is being strictly avoided on our side keeping everything to a bare minimum, delivering stable performance all the time without destroying the AOSP interface. With users getting more used to tweaks and features, we added just the right features and customisations that will be actually USEFUL at the end of the day.

FAQs
Q: VoLTE icon is missing! How can I enable it?
A: Settings -> Display -> Statusbar icons -> Enable VoLTE icon
Q: No dark mode in Phone and SMS apps!
A: Either install Google Dialer and Messaging from the Play Store, or enable "Override force-dark" in Developer settings
Q: Where is Dirac audio enhancer and how can I enable it?
A: Go to Settings -> Sound -> scroll to the bottom
Q: 2 Big cluster CPUs are always offline! Not able to turn them on!
A: When CPU load is low, these cores are turned off to save power. They will turn on automatically when CPU load increases. If you still want to turn on cpus disable core control in EX Kernel manager or a similar app.
Q: HELP! everything was fine until today but suddenly my screen stopped responding to touch and I had to reboot!
A: It turns out that k5/plus units with certain display panels have some issues with DT2W (double tap-to-wake) enabled. You can go ahead and disable it in display settings, the issue should disappear after that.
How to download this ROM?
I keep failing
Hi adityhya rom I use the way you say performance has increased really good rom now I wish you more success and new privatization plenty of roms waiting for you to meet us
I used this rom for a short time (I'm still used) It is very stable at the same time and curious item, the front speaker played ringing sound (too useful because my rear speaker is rusty)
Launchair bug does not open after reboot
And the battery consumption is very high, consumes a lot and it takes a long time to charge.
Other than that, great rom.
V smooth so far, it's the third day i m using this rom, no issue at all, the enhanced sound is v nice feature,
The battery consumption is a bit high, even in deep sleep
Thanks so much ,Good job ??
Dev kind request can you add rotate settings for rotating screen 270* because lower half of my screen doesn't respond so i have to use it in reverse
Please help
CPU core release does not work. After performing the procedure, the cores are momentarily unlocked but after a short time lock again.
Can i update it dirty ? Or it has to be clean flash ?
Is it possible to pass safetynet with this ROM and microg?
Thanks for the rom.
How can I turn up the volume on my headphone?
And the call recording option isn't working, you can't hear what the other person says
The phone freezes randomly from time to time and it goes to lock screen where I have to enter the password to unlock the phone
How can this be fixed
What causes it ?
Cast screen restarts the phone suddenly
Im using the last update 19-1-2020
It used to work with the previous updates
Thanks for still keeping alive this outdated device !!!!!
But i am missing Dolby Atmos that bassy speakers ....
I tried installing dolby from magisk module but the rom crashed. can anyone give me link for the dolby Atmos which can suppprt this rom...... Thanks for the rom
Poor call quality reported by person on other end of the line - A6020, Q, Arrow OS
Hi,
First - When I call or someone calls me, the voice of the person on the other end is loud and clear. But the person reports that nothing of what I say is audible. There is too much of noise, or a howling voice is heard from my side. The issue normally occurs when there's HD calling b/w me and any other user (And both have Volte active).
Second - Google voice typing, WhatsApp voice messages and voice recorder does not record anything from the microphone.
Third - Pls add a tweak for mapping hardware buttons in settings.
Fourth (And of very little need from my side)- Pixel Launcher crashes with full gesture navigation activated. Up to 2 button navigation, everything is fine except that from 2 button navigation, the Google app seems to stop working, often executing after a minute from being tapped on the icon and Google assistant doesn't activate.
Encryption worked for me, many thank!
First, thanks for extending the life of this model , second I have noticed that the battery consumption during use is high, I have activated the minimum, no application that works in the background, the only thing that installed extra was the magisk

Hello Everyone !!
I need help I bricked my phone , I was just going back to my stock rom then I am facing two problems ..
( I am not blaming this thread developer , I appreciate him for his work as I also used his ROMs )
Now my problems are :
1)-When I flashed stock rom using Qfil tool ,its showing baseband version unknown and I don't have any backup file for this ... So can I restore my baseband version.(does again flashing stock rom will fix it?)
2)-this is my main issue that my device is boot only when connected to charging. If I disconnect charger it suddenly turn off and won't turn on without charger...
And my battery is at good condition so I don't think its a battery problem.
Thanks for reading !!!
I hope anyone wil help me ...!!!

[Guide] How To Fix Unknown Baseband & Unknown IMEI Issue In MTK Devices

[NEW] aodNotify - Notification Light / LED for OnePlus 8 + No fingerprint visible!

[NEW] aodNotify - Notification Light / LED for OnePlus 8 + No fingerprint burn in!
This app was initially developed for Samsung Galaxy devices with Always on Display. As OnePlus devices will also get an Always on Display soon i decided to create a version specially for OnePlus devices. For now the app runs in a compatibility mode as the Always on Display has not been released yet. App is in beta stage currently.
You need a notification light / LED for your OnePlus 8!
With aodNotify you can easily add a notification light / LED to your OnePlus 8!
You can select different notification light styles and show the notification light around the camera cutout, screen edges or even simulate an notification LED dot in the statusbar of your OnePlus 8 or OnePlus 7!
This app hides the fingerprint icon, so the icon can not burn in your screen! Enjoy your notification light!
MAIN FEATURES
• Notification light / LED for OnePlus 8 or OnePlus 7!
• Double tap to wake when notification arrives!
• Charging / Low battery light / LED
MORE FEATURES
• Notification light styles (around camera, screen, LED dot)
• Custom app / contact colors
• ECO animations to save battery
• Interval mode (on/off) to save battery
• Night times to save battery
BATTERY USAGE PER HOUR ~:
• LED - 7.5%
• LED & INTERVAL - 5.5%
• LED & ECO ANIMATION - 3.5%
• LED & ECO ANIMATION & INTERVAL - 2.5%
Without notification light the app consumes almost 0% battery!
DOWNLOAD:
DEVICES
• OnePlus 8
• OnePlus 7 (untested)??
• OnePlus 6 (untested)??
NOTES
• The app is still in beta stage, errors may occur!!
• OnePlus may block this app with future updates!
• Please check if the app is compatible before updating phone software!
• Altough we never experienced any screen burn in issues on our test devices, we recommend to not keep the notification light / LED active for a long time! Use at you own responsibility!

Thanks! Is the position of the light around the camera ok? or did it need an fine adjustment in Notification light > Dimensions ?

The positioning is real close, good enough for me.
My screenshots don't show it, but, it is ever so slightly off-center, high at the 10:00 position.
Just a BTW/question :
I typically use the hide the cutout option in display settings.
In that mode, the ring light actually sits right below the camera cutout, resting atop the clock (clock still visible,an overlay by the ring).
Is this normal/limitation due to hiding the cutout?
To me, it's perfectly acceptable, it's not as if I'm not going to check my notifications, the app is doing its job, replacing the notification LED.
---------- Post added at 11:38 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:23 AM ----------
@Jawomo
Tweaked the X/Y axis position on the camera ring:
X:4
Y:5
Left the size in X&Y as-is.
That puts it perfectly centered.

As the LED is display on screen it consumes more energy like a single LED. But you wont let the light be active for hours, normally you check the device every hour at least.. so it wont consume that much battery.
But we can get some cool animations or fullscreen edge lighting, so for me its ok. When an AOD is released by OnePlus it will get lower hopefully.

Definitely don't want to turn this thread into a battery life thread, but, just posting to show that it's not running down the battery in the background.

Some times when receive call. Screen is off....
Does anyone have this problem?
I've just downloaded this to try it out. Is there a 'test' mode where I can see what it's going to look like? Nothing is shown on the screen at the moment. I'm running 10.5.7 (UK).
