Anything like modding or updating xml like files that can change ICS rom to look like lollipop rom like lollipop style recent bar or lollipop styled status bar or lollipop styled system UI by modding
But please no Custom roms.

I'm going to assume that this can be only be done with root, right? If not it would make my day though
Works on any custom rom or only on clean android ?
I spent some time last night getting the sizes to look right. I know I need to ad transparency and fix the thumbnails.. My issue is getting the thumbnails to overlap, any advice?

Whenever I try to recompile the SystemUI.apk I get error in the Command Prompt.

there is "status_bar_recent_tray_item" and "status_bar_recent_item"

You enter those values in ur xmls which are not registered in ur values folder i mean files of values folder
Not Able to Decompile the file properly

i was trying to do the change in the systemui.apk but no matter what i tried i was unable to decompile the apk properly, here is the error which has bugged me
"Can't find framework resources for package of id: 2. You must install proper framework files, see project website for more info."
Iam using unite 2 , running custom themed rom , kitkat 4.4.2
Iam attaching my framework and systemui apk files. please can anyone decompile and compile it again for me.

First install the framework-res.apk,,,
To do that,, type. Apktool if framework -res.apk
Then do decompile by typing apktool d systemui.apk systemui

Since i am new i can't post in dev forums... so i do it here.
I flashed with VillainROM also... and all is running smoth, so far. Only the 3x4 keyboard (Samsung) does not work - i only get numbers instead of letters. Seems to be a know issue with that ROM. Can anyone give a help on that?

On another forum i read that it might be neccessary to flash a specific csv file with odin, can anyone confirm?
go to black hawk rom thread in development section and download the update black hawk.zip...flash it and you ll get samsung keypad....+1 if it helped ya...before posting search the forum..there is a similar thread...

Hello everyone this is my first time posting here
First of all im a noob.
Im not even sure if this is the right section to post a question like this one.
I was using the Pixlr-o-matic app and i got bored with the overlays that includes so i thought i might wanna add more myself.
I opened the app with winzip and found the overlay images in folder (assets-overlay-default-1), i added more and also i added them in the same image size and names and also in the thumbnails folder. I resigned the apk and installed. The new overlays are not appearing i tried to think what i might be doing wrong or what i should do more and i cant come up with an idea...
Im attaching the modded apk and an example of the overlay i wanted to add.
If you need more info to provide ill be glad to reply!

That is a common error, its been encountered by many, just make sure you are using latest build, download from this link "https://ibotpeaches.github.io/Apktool/" and delete the file at $HOME/apktool/framework/1.apk and try again, nothing special is required in my opinion.. hope it helps....... best of luck with porting hope we'll see miui7 soon on our beloved l9.

I'm sorry man for the late reply, i looked at the error code, it looks like apktool errors with MIUIPatch Rom errors,
i dont have much idea about errors related to MIUI, because you have translation errors which are definitely related to MIUI

I have a problem with my System.UI. I can't decompile it because I obtain always an error...in every programs (Tickle,Multitool...). I want to edit lines in .xml for my custom ROM.
However, with the Framework-res.apk or settings-apk it works perfectly. I don't understand...
So If someone could help me decompiling System-UI.apk with other method, I'd be very grateful to him

Post the error log and maybe someone will help you. Posting the apks does nothing really.
Also if your making a custom rom but cant fix a simple error then you might want to rethink things.
Also if your building a custom rom then just edit the source before to compile the build.
Finally it works. Why ? I don't know lol
Maybe it is :
-I took systemUI.apk from stock ROM (yes i changed apk from stock ROM to try)
-or I deleted mediatek-res.apk of folder names ''other'' of APKmultitool
