[Q] Best case for diving (snorkeling) - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

Hi there!
I am searching for a case which i can use for our next caribic holidays. As there is definitely a big difference between "waterproof" and "diving approved", I would kindly as you guys for your recommendations. Of course this imagined case doesn't have to take deep diving sessions - just for snorkeling activities - let's say <~4m.
Help is really appreciated!

That´s what I thought

I took a trip to Hawaii in January. Before I went I researched waterproof Note 3 cases. None of the ones I found had reviews that would convince me to trust the case with my phone. I could care less about blocking a speaker or using headphones with the case on, I just wanted something to snorkel in.

Hi.
If I need that kind of case i would try to make one and try - for example - shoot pictures by the bluetooth device (you can buy them via web). I've searched for case that i could take for diving and did not find anything. Only thing that comes on my mind is to take flat or normal jar (in normal you can try to hot glue something inside that keeps phone in place), and when go diving run camera app, set screen allways on (widgets) and seal jar and pray that it will stay that way

Check this out..I was also looking for a waterproof case and found this one. Haven't bought it yet...haven't tried it ☺

BTW this one looks better

Hi! Those really do look nice - but it seems like there is absolutely no possibility to interact with the device anymore. Neither via screen nor via a cam Button or something similar...

Touch screen should still work with these cases. You can also get the cheaper waterproof pouches on Amazon that's universal for all phones that should work with Note 2/3/4/5 as well. It too should allow full touch screen function. Some even offer headphones so you can listen to music floating in the water: http://www.amazon.com/Aduro-Waterpr...1-9&keywords=waterproof+pouch+phone+headphone

Hopefully I can explain this...

when I'm reading web page, and I'm scrolling up or down, the tablet randomly ZOOMS right in to part of the page i'm on. Often to a section that I'm not even reading. Is this a known issue? Am I doing something wrong?
thanks, hopefully someone knows what I'm talking about cuz it's driving me crazy!!
This happens to me sometime, all I can say is that the touch screen is too sensitive, I have to make sure that my finger doesn't stay on the screen to long.
Yeah the screen seems to have a sensitivity issue.
I'm just sayin!

Can't say it'a an issue, this happens to ipad and Samsung Galaxy tablet as well when I tried my friends' devices. When you get used to your device, this will happen less.

Hopefully this is the case. Then I'll less likely feel this is a problem isolated to my unit.

The Sony S is super sensitive to quiver-fast double taps and finger jiggles (that you may not know you are doing.) Pretty sure that you'll get used to it and, even without thinking about it, simply adjust your browsing method. Takes a day or so to get beyond it.
Well, I've got my tablet for a few months now and I think every day that this is a pain in the ass. Regarding this issue I love the ipad. Or my galaxy s. Neither of them have this issue.

Did you put a screen protector on the screen without removing the factory one? I did at first and was having the same issue as you. Couldn't even type a message because it kept double tapping letters i was trying to type and scrolling while browsing sucked.
I took off the one I put on and just have the factory one now and, though it still happens some times, it is definitely better than it was before.

Yeah I had to do this same thing. The extra screen protector desensitized the hell out of tablet S. I've taken it off and it's much better, but still double taps at times on 1 tap.
I'm just sayin!

The salesman at the sony store put it on for me. So im not sure. I'd like to this he dd it properly.
I truly believe my tablet is defective. The problem I mentioned above plus horrible and slow scrolling, widgets disappearing, widgets freezing. Etc....
My tablet has been a lot better since I removed the protective film covering the screen. The cover was kinda thick. Now the colors are brighter and the viewing angle is better. I like the texture of the glass too.
I also don't notice the "ghost touches" that would happen right after I'd touch the screen, kind of like a double tap. Those were few and far between, but I've been enjoying my tablet sans protector enough, that this is just a bonus.
I'm not guaranteeing it, but this might fix your issue. You could also try replacing it with a thinner protector. My nook color's touchscreen was crazy without a protector, maybe this tablet is the opposite.
---
It also sounds like you could use a factory reset. I was having issues with my tablet being crappy and slow, and after doing a factory reset, freezing the unneeded apps (pretty much all of the Sony ones), disabling the media scanner, and applying the V6 supercharger script OOM values, my tablet has been pretty snappy.
I've been using the new Go Launcher HD home app in place of the default launcher which I froze (aka disabled the package).
Wait, there is a screen protector coming with the tab? I purchased the sony screen protector and put it on. So I've got two protectors on it?

Same with me, my tablet came with a free protector and the shop put it on for me. I am not sure if there is one already there as some insisted here but I have no sensitivity issue even if there are two screen protectors!
Yes it has a protector on it. It is very tough to keep the screen from getting cracked. To remove it, start at one of the corners with your fingernail. I used the bottom rounded corners to start. At first the screen will feel a little rough, but that's from the adhesive. Clean it with sone electronics spray and a microfiber cloth.
I like mine better with out it. The screen feels like glass now instead of plastic.
Yes..the tablet comes with a screen protector preinstalled which you can see if you look closely at the edge of the screen.

screen protector
I have the same touch sensitivity problems on my Tablet S (16GB WiFi) purchased in Singapore. Frequent hypersensitive touch behavior leading to random zooming and double taps, 'stickiness' in scrolling menus etc.
I read about the factory installed screen protector here on XDA but was unsuccessful in removing it...couldn't even get the edges to come off. Went down to the local Singapore Sony Service center and asked them to take a look at the hypersensitive touch issue...and what do you know...I couldn't reproduce it on the spot. Tried for 15 min, but the tablet behaved perfectly during the period . Couldn't convince the service tech that something was wrong.
Anyway, i asked them to remove the factory supplied screen protector and they said it should NOT be removed since it's not merely a protector, but a necessary part of the display for improving color reproduction and decreasing glare. Don't know if he was BSing me, but I left it at that. Note the image on this official website under the 'Sony’s amazing TruBlack™ display' section...
[EDIT: Looks like I cannot post a URL as a new user. Please check the Sony Singapore Tablet S official website]
I bought the official Sony screen protector (matte type) and had them install it. The sensitivity is much better now and the frequency of random zoom and double-tap has decreased drastically; but it's still there and pops up occasionally.
I am unsure of what to do next. Could it be a software issue? Among the browsers, I notice that it is most prominent/frequent in Opera Mobile. Occurs less frequently in the stock browser.
Today, I noticed that we have a possibility to set the sensibilty in our settings. Just go to input help (probably not the correct word... mine is german. It's the setting with the hand as a symbol). Within, there is a setting called something like touchscreen gestures. My tablet was default set to short. I changed it and now I don't experience the zoom issue anymore.

It's Touch n Hold Delay under Accessibility and default setting is Short.
I have no screen sensitivity problem on my tablet with extra screen protector on (I'm not sure if there is one factory installed on my tablet until today) so this function is useless to me
Hmm it seems that the touch and hold adjustment worked for me so far. Nice find!

Xperia Tablet S Build quality?

Hey there,
i´m very happy with my xperia tablet s but my device got a crackling sound on the back plastic cover when holding it with my fingers. It Looks like the plastic part is not fixed. Today i got an Exchange device from sony, same Problem
What about your devices? Everything´s ok?
I first bought the device on the first day it was released. After a week I noticed the creaking back and exchanged it.
I also pointed out to my local store that at the bottom corners of the device, the're was a gap. Not an issue according to them but it turned out to be the water proofing issue. Sent the tablet off for repair which took4 days. It's now back, corners sealed and very happy except lack of jellybean.
So today you have no crackling sound in your tablet, nothing after weeks of usage?
So it could be the right way to order another one...the 4th

does back panel vibrates while playing music/videos?

Hi there. Someone said that back panel vibrates while playing music/videos. Everyone has this problem?
How hard it vibrates? (If I use a case vibrates are still feeling? I was looking foreard to also buy a case from sony for xx)
Mine does vibrate. I think thats because of the quite Strong Dual Speakers. In my case its Not anoying at All. I use a case from Roxfit which dampens the Vibration quite good.

Does it work like intended?
I heard it isn't as good as Samsung ones.
How much did you end up paying?
Is it interactive like Samsung ones?
I got it and it works fine. You can slide left and right to answer or dismiss calls, gives you time, date and weather info otherwise if you press the power button.

Agreed. It works as intended.
Question re the cover I got mine from Amazon UK
On the Amazon pic it looks like clear glass but on my cover the glass is frosted and the display is not clear it's slightly blurred anyone else got this issue
I guess everyone got it slightly blurred but for that few information it provides - I think it's clear enough.

Mine is just a grey plastic, but it is clear enough. Not frosted exactly, just not clear glass
I'm waiting for mine to arrive
Got mine from Amazon Germany for 16 euro. Good quality. Screen on after opening works fine. But a clear window would be better...
I have the case too. that only case that not lift my mofi glass.
I wish they add more things to screen like notification battery presentege
The smart cover is a good idea. Just hasn't been implemented right missing crucial features
I got sick of this cover after 10 seconds due to the case covering the notification light, blurry front view window and AOD switching off after 10 seconds. At first I thought the ambient light sensor being blocked by the case was the problem (the sensor which is an inch to the right of the earphone speaker, which determines whether or not your phone is face down, or in your pocket/bag in order to switch the screen/AOD off to save battery) so I took a knife to the cover to see if that helped. It didn't. Even after cutting a section of the case out and exposing the ambient light sensor it still doesn't keep AOD on. I have attached a photo in the link below of my butchered cover for comedy purposes

Does anyone experience that sometimes when a phone call comes in that the smart cover doesn't activate the smart cover so you have to flip it open to see who is calling

Does replacing lcd fix touch issues ?

So recently my phone has been having touch issues (e.g ghost touches) on the upper left corner of the screen (beside the notch). It's quite annoying when I'm playing some games such as ML as the character would move left due to the ghost touches. Thus, I was thinking of replacing the lcd display in hopes of fixing the ghost touches. So my question to you is, will replacing the lcd display (either by a third party or stock factory lcd display) fix touch issues ? AFAIK the touch issues are hardware related, so replacing it should fix it right ?

I had ghost input issues with Lumia 1020 and replacing the screen fixed it, cause the digitizer and the screen are one whole (or at least separating em isn't efficient enough) so replacing the screen probably is a solution. Here in eastern Europe on the sites I see Poco screens for 30 to 40 bucks, they say they are original but I dunno.

Replacing the screen may solve your problem but if the screen is not genuine, you will end up with worse issues.
my display is from AliExpress after my original has been broken. So far no problems / restrictions (7 months).
Payd ~30 USD with Tools.

Good to hear ! Btw, how do you repair the screen on your own ? I'm scared to do it myself cuz I might accidentally screw up ?
Its Not really hard. You need a Torx T2(or T3, idk) Screwdriver for the 2 Screws at the Button from the Phone. A Hairdryer for the Glue (Mainboard and so on) and a Philipps Screwdriver..
Just Take Look at YouTube there a many How-To Videos.

Update: Just got my screen repaired from the local store (didnt have the courage to change it on my own). Costed me $45. Honestly expected to be more expensive. So far no touch issues
