SGS 3 New features on SGS 2 ?

First, Hi
I was amazed by a lot of new features of the Galaxy S 3 presented half an hour ago in London. And I was wondering if we would get some software from S 3 such as AllShare, S Voice and the new Touchwizz UI.
Do you even know if it could be possible to have a SIII based rom for our device?
Thank You very much
Soap
Thanks for the post, didn't know it was being revealed today.
Almost certain the S2 will get all the updates from Samsung or else guys on the forums
will have a new objective hehe.
The slogan for the S3 is 'Designed for humans'.....anyone else find this strange
The next galaxy s3 is a monster of IT!!!
I'll just grab the framework, APKs and source code and see if I can port them over for you.

We have all share already.
What i would've wanted is the smart stay functionality. Backlight stays on while your looking at the phone.
its got LED notification which the S2 should have had....
http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=4238&idPhone2=3621
heres some info about it, its not worth the buy for me, bigger, heavier, the screen is better and the larger battery but i dont think i have the pocket for it.

But I think the camera taking consumes more power than the screen backlight. If you have reasonable timeouts.

Looking forward to the porting of the s3 rom. Loving that floating video player and new lock screen. They just had to have a fake Siri didn't they!!

Well I wouldn't call it a fake siri, There has been Android apps doing what siri does for long time prior to siri. They just wasnt plugged as much as siri was/is.
This is a perfect example of Apple's marketing making people believe they have created something new.

The gpu in the S3 is basically our mali 400mp @ 400Mhz+ cause when I oc my gpu to 400 i get about 10% less performance than the S3 in Glbenchmark 2.1.4 offscreen 720p
This thread will probably be relevant after May 29th.
Until then, what's the point?
Don't forget we already have the pink spot feature. No reason to port that.
But its thicker than galaxy s2 and it just has amoled hd not super amoled plus like this s2

choosing android phone

Hi there,
Thinking about getting new phone and its goona be android for sure but cant decide yet which one, the main concerns are cpu, screen resolution and color depth, developers support and multiwindows.
Im reading my reviews about nexus, note2, s3 & s4, htc 1, but can not see any news about multiwindow support in any phones exept samsung ones. Samsung developed multiwindows and its cool stuff but think its just a matter of time when most of phones will support that but can not find any announcements from nexus, lg, htc...any1 here has some news?
Thanks

I think that SGS3 or 4 will meet your requirements best of all. Or you may wait for a new Nexus device.

I agree with you! :good:
If you like a stylish smart, go to HTC One, performance, go to S4, Lastest Android edition, Nexus 4 or X.
Hey, thanks for replays.
Saw that s4 add when new flexible screen was presented and samsung showed off a phone with bend screen which looked really nice but now on ex: amazon galaxy s4 looks similar to s3, cpu is clocked higher but always can overclocked s3 .
How agout nexus 4 dev support? I know galaxy s3 has many customs roms and is updated often so wonder how does it look like with htc1, nexus?

Which better?

I've opened this thread just for make someone realize of something.
Which better Samsung Galaxy S4 or Nexus 5?Say the reason why you think which is better.

Between the two, Nexus 5. More hackable, and the S4 screen is real fragile. I do enterprise IT support for a living, so i see a lot of phones.
Every s4 I see gets a broken screen, iphone just as bad behind but it's got nicer case options. Based on durability the s3 was much better.
Me personally and increasingly those in my circle of influence buy only ip67 phones. Take a little more digging, but they are available and the hardware is pretty much commodity now.
I guess I've grown out of the Shiny Shiny stage, now I just want something that will last. Double so as I buy in cash and prepay.

Well, the S3 is still a very good smartphone with a very good camera, but it wont receive any updates from samsung...
Work is in progress and I think, when the KitKat for the LTE version (I9305) will be released, it will become very stable
I think its worth, chek posts here, there are something like this question, there are more answers..

From my point of view it doesn't worth to buy s3 in 2014 and I will tell you why, don't get me wrong it is a good phone but not extraordinary. That 1 GB of ram is not that capable with 4.3, or 4.4 sammy and the bad exynos processor bleahh, so I advise you not to buy S3, or any Samsung( it is a totally s*** ), now depends on how much money you have for your new phone
Cheers, gabyif

Maybe take a look at the S4? It costs around 300$ if you find the right seller
Now I would buy a nexus 5, a little bit more expensive but it's a really nice phone.
After a S1 and a S3 I also need some changes.
Yosh,
Don't forget the LG3.
G3,S4,NX5 all of them are expensive in my country.Maybe G pro has same price as SGS3.Will try to look up at right seller.

great features, yeah maybe...features like smart scroll, smart stay and other smart features I never used, this occupe alot of RAM and slows down the device and if the device has 1 gb of ram the situation is even worst.Best phones NO,I mean there a alot of brands better than Samsung,if you ever used a HTC you know what I mean,it(HTC,in general) has not as much bloat as samsung puts in their phones, samsung puts tooooo much bloat...of course this is just my opinion and I still don't recommend Samsung anymore,I regret that I bought S3 but this is the life

I use to be on a on development Tom team for HTC phones so yes I know all about HTC and I will never go back to them.the only phone I would consider other than the so would be the LG g3 but I still wouldn't leave Samsung for it my next phone will be the note 4.plus the great thing about x da and android is if you love a certain phone but don't want all the features that come stock you root and flash a romantic to your liking

Hmm...don't know what to say I used a HTC one s and at that time I had a s2 as well and the one s was more faster, cooler and the battery was much better so I remain at my point of view that Samsung is no more a big manufacturer, at least for me... )
And if I would to buy a new phone I definitely choose a AOSP phone, like nexus 5 or ONEPLUS ONE
Sent from my GT-I9300 powered by ArchiDroid+ArchiKernel
I'd also say don't bother. The display's picture quality is rather poor compared to the competitors at the time and all of the current gen high-end phones. My phones wifi is defective, effectively giving me 2-3m range. The back peels off and the fake metal plastic rim gets damaged very easily. The led indicator is only good at displaying R, G or B, as it doesn't mix effectively at all. The display and resolution needs to be a bit larger, as the lack of quality makes certain tasks difficult. I'd suggest a bigger display anyway. The Samsung official software (I'm currently using S5 software), is rather lacking, it hides useful Android features and gives a plethora of useless features which are poorly organised into categories.
I'm considering getting a new phone. It's hardware is pretty good, but it could be so much better in every aspect.

Get a g2. Port over sense and collect that $1000 bounty. Then get whatever phone your heart desires
No, Don't buy it. If u want an older smartphone choose the HTC One M7. S3 is just too outdated imo and I hate touchwiz from samsung hence why I have AOSP
If I were you go I'd go for Moto G.If from older devices: HTC One M7,also if you can look at HTC Desire 816 (if price in your country of it isn't very high) if price is too high you can look at HTC Desire 601.If you wanna be update to date with Android updates choose Nexus 5 .Just everythng depends on your needs. But Galaxy S3 won't get official Kitkat update (so officially it abandoned and forgotten by Samsung) also,Sudden Death syndrome bug (it will only depend on luck if you will get affected or not affected by it)

End of Samsung's Note brand

Samsung is recommended to drop the Note brand here is why.
What do you folks suggest is this a good decisions or bad ?
Well...since they wanted to unify the family, maybe Samsung could consider rebranding the Note to maybe S8 Pro. Or S8 Plus.
Holy crap let's hope this is not real. "Samsung said to kill off Note brand"

Yeah but sad. Shoot, I've owned and still have all the notes starting from the fist gen.
Oh no, more sad news from Samsung.

Damn, guess they really didn't want to make a removable back phone.. Would have loved a Note 8 with removable back and low bezel
worse news I've ever heard. NOTHING compares to the note and there ****up affects all their loyal customers

From that report it says..."According to the source inside Samsung, a poll revealed that more than 50% of consumers polled now have a negative feeling about the brand." I wonder where that 50% came from.
