Looks like the contrast is out of whack (blacks overdone to the point of bleedout). Also looks like the colors are whitewashed. Any recommendation on how to fix this for now until an update comes out to take care of it?

Just tried a fresh install of the latest nightly 3-11. Still getting Google services FC on first reboot that won't let me get past. Do I need to flash anything besides the ROM and GApps? Using the latest GApps as well.. I read somewhere about also needing to flash SU?
Can anyone confirm or deny if this ROM works with Safestrap?

Needed to update TWRM apparently. Works, but having the same weird color issue. Would love to check it out but the color is unbearable.
I'm using twrp 2.8.4.0 and I get play service FC as well. What nightly did you get to boot and what recovery version you using
I think I'm on 2.8.5 and was the 3/13 nightly
3/13 no FC runs great and best battery life I've had on any 5.0 ROM. It does have a slight yellowish tint tho.

Sorry to ask, but I haven't found a list showing compatible versions. Can I run the nightly 20150321 with baseband FNK1 on my s4 I545 (Verizon)?

Hello all,
New Pac-Rom user. Beginner-to-Intermediate ROM flasher here. Flashed the Apr 1 version and titanium backup didn't work. I downloaded supersu and it couldn't update binaries. I downloaded root checker and it said I had no root. Did I do something wrong during the installation? Maybe I missed a step. Should I flash the Apr 3 version before I post anymore questions?

Loaded this today on a Bell i527m, but I'm getting 'Image size too large!! W:1080 H:1920' display image fail SECURE FAIL: KERNEL
Any ideas what I can try? Bootloader maybe?

Boot.img is the first thing that Odin flashes from the package, so if the upload succeeds, it means the kernel has passed signature verification and *should* work. The message you mention is usually displayed in the case of a downgrade, not an upgrade. I guess it's possible that the phone's bootloader may not support a newer kernel, but this has not usually been the case in Samsung phones.
If you would like to try updating to the latest bootloader (Knox included), here is a link:

phone keeps rebooting
Hi guys I have the galaxy sgh-i527m and have been running megafire for a long time but I just wanna try out this kitkat rom and after installing it with odin 3.07 my phone keeps rebooting after the set up screen comes on. I did wipe everything before installation and even after it was rebooting after set up screen I tried again to wipe data and factory reset but still the same. Any ideas someone
I'm not sure what could cause that issue, given it is a stock ROM with nothing other than root added. I'd recommend removing any SD card you may have in your phone, or formatting the internal storage, in case they have data that the stock ROM doesn't like. Maybe that has something to do with it.

did everything you told me and its still the same but it reboots every 5 minutes but everything else works good. I really wanted to try this stock kitkat but if i cant figure out whats going on I will have to stick with megafire which is really good but i am curious about kitkat.

Anyone else got any problems flashing this rom? I really would like to give this rom a try but I tried 2 times now and it keeps rebooting after a couple of minutes of running
Since it runs for a couple minutes, it would be worth turning on USB debugging and posting logcat output to see what is happening.

Just a heads up for those that are having issues flashing.
make sure you untick reboot after. let it sit when its done flashing for 3 minutes.
I also had to do it twice with a wipe and clear of cache.

This firmware got the WiFi and baseband working again (thanks) Is there anything i can do to get the eBay replacement touch screen working on Samsung kitkat 4.4?
Currently, the only known solution is to use a genuine digitizer. I believe a possible workaround is to unplug your LCD, turn on the phone, and then reconnect the LCD. However, this needs to be done every time you reboot the phone, so it's not really viable.

yesterday i went back to latest stock on my z2 because there were no updates on paranoid android since beta2 and now i see a thread with PA beta5? I am confused whats the difference between this two versions? why here an update and there not?

Recovery lost and some FC
Hello everyone, I'm new here on Sony threads, I've onlways been on Samsung's, so I'm a bit lost with every tricks with have to do here to flash a rom.
So I wanted to install this PA version, so I unlocked my BL and so on, I managed to get a CMW and to install this version (and by extension TWRP 2.8.1). So until yesterday everything went fine, but suddenly this morning I got some FC, with antutu, gravitybox, link2sd, and some SystemUI FC... I even lost my recovery, and can't go to it, even if the led light becomes orange as it does in normal times...
I tried to flash another kernel, or to go back to CWM, but then I got bootloops. So I really don't know what to do, I Managed to reinstall my PA version, but I still got the same problems.
Apart that, I dont have any wifi or any system problems.

Ultimate n00b question here, but does anyone have the 4.4.3 firmware download for the s5? Can't find it anywhere, and would like to see if this works with safestrap on the s5. Don't see a reason as to why it wouldn't. I understand that statement is going to receive a lot of ridicule, but I am very very new and I just started rooting two days ago, and I am aware that I am only able to flash roms on my s5 via safestrap, because the bootloader is locked. So my curiosity with this is stemming from these roms working with verizon safestrap..So I understand I'm going to get reamed for asking for the 4.4.3 firmware for the s5, and whether or not these will flash, but I can't find concrete answers anywhere else, and I truly don't see why it wouldn't work. :x

you wouldnt need the firmware installed technically to make this work for the s5. you'd want to flash it then flash a module zip to make a module zip take all files from /lib/modules directory from a clean stock'd odin rom. thats what youd need to get wifi/gps to work. if your referring to the new PSOA ROM that might boot for you but I dont know that the S4 is backwards compatible with the S5 I could easily make an S5 ROM like this tho
Hi. Hoping somebody can help with this problem. I am on psoa barebonez with nc5 modules and nc5 bootloader. Everything works great except for the phone. When I am on a call there is no way to hang up. Even after I kill the phone app the call remains connected. The end call button does not function at all. Does anybody know the process or task that is actually controlling ongoing calls? And do you know the best way to terminate that process? Thanks

Has anyone gotten this to work for the s5? I'm going to try it right now, but if all else fails, would you be able to make an s5 ROM like this? If any trouble at all don't bother, I always feel bad asking for anyone to do such things. Only asking since you mentioned.

Error message, settings has closed upon first boot.
First of all thanks for your hard work.
As soon as the phone boots up for the first time, I keep getting an error message that settings has closed. I am on MDK and did a complete wipe, data, system, dalvik and cache.
I also installed KT Kernel.
Any ideas on what I could try or the reason this might be happening? I am coming from an International based Echoe rom version 35.1, 4.4.2 NG2

I no to make sure you unchecked the note 4 theme. That caused it for me. Not bad, actually liked it, but the camera restart bug forced me to go back to echoe until this is resolved
Ok thank you. I cannot remember if I had the note 4 theme checked or not. I absolutely love the modded "Samsung Galaxy S4" boot animation, probably one of the nicest ones I have seen. Wish I could get that on another ROM somehow.
successfully flashed the 10.2 rls. Looks like everything important is working. Going to wait for your "cleaned up version" too theme it for a possible daily driver. Like it so far, great job.
So this looks like everything that i have ever wanted in a rom! i really want to flash but i wanted to ask a few questions before I flash. I'm on hyper's rom now so is coming from that safe? I am currently on baseband nc5. I am using safestrap. Which i was actually wandering as well are there any other options for recovery than safestrap? I did read that the signal bars won't show up..is this still a issue? and last question i have the verizon brand s4 but i'm using a tmobile sim in it. currently on hyper's rom i can't get web, mms and i can't check my voicemails to work. i have entered the apns over and over again. i think its rom related. does anyone that's flashed this have success with their web working? thanks!

Overclock using KT's application and his Kernel or similar Custom Kernel, yes. for safestrap / stock kernel users, no. no rom does.

System UI has crashed
I flashed the ROM without any trouble, but as soon as I mess with any of the toggles in Settings, I get a System UI has crashed error over and over and can't do anything until I pull the battery and boot into TWRP and re-flash. Is there a reason for this or a fix? And another random question, does this ROM support F2FS? Everything I've read says that AOSP 5.1.1 supports it, and so does this Kernel.

Wiping dalvik and cache clear up a lot of these issues for me . If that doesn't clear things up would normally reinstall the ROM and make sure you are using the correct version of gapps.
Make sure you wipe your dalvik, cache, data, system, (not internal SD) though.

For the life of me I cant get the Linux enforcing to go permissive. Ive always used toolbox and for some reason the buildprop. Will say set to 0 but it doesn't change a thing. Does anyone know of another way maybe thru terminal or something?

So I have the LgG3 sprint or the ls990. I currently have it rooted on ZV4.
Can I flash this rom without upgrading to ZV8? because the last time that I tried keeping my root while upgrading to ZV8 I bricked my phone.
and or what rom would work to flash on ZV4 or ZV6 with less risk of hard bricking the phone.
any help would be appreciated.

I flashed it and I love this rom the only thing is that I have no data. How can I fix this? I already tried flashing just the modem.img of ZV8 but that did nothing. and made it really hard to boot into the rom. Is there something that I could change in the build.prop so that I have data?
