Will not update to Lollipop - Sprint LG G3

I have been receiving a system update notification for about 2 weeks now and every time I try to install the update it reboots, goes to apply the update and then it reboots again like nothing happened. Anyone else have this problem or know a way to fix it? I have tried doing the update manually through adb sideload but it keeps running into an error there as well and aborts the install.

If the directions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3030327 don't work for applying the update . I'd flash the TOT.

If you have twrp installed make sure to reinstall the stock recovery. The update zip cannot correctly flash its updater script. The stock recovery can due so, so I would install it.

OTA Update on 4.3 Rooted Stock Fails

I have received the OTA update for my stock rooted 4.3 device. When I tell the system to update, it reboots into recovery, which for me is TWRP. If I go to "install" it defaults to the sdcard/downloads folder and there is a file there called: ota_M7_UL_SENSE55-MR_TMOUS_4.19.531.10-3.24.531.3_release_351678 If I choose to "install" this, there's a bunch of error messages, first with "unable to locate zip" (references a specific file), followed by an "assert failed" and the "error executing update binary..."
I will assume that this is because of the fact that I'm rooted and have TWRP.
It's important for me to be stock (I need the TM WiFi calling) and I want to retain root. Given that, how can I update to Kit Kat?
You'll have to flash back to stock recovery and redo the OTA (or, if you know where the OTA file is on your device, boot into stock recovery and select that file for the update).
You will most likely loose root, but it's easy enough to reflash TWRP and superuser to get root back, I would imagine.

I found and flashed a stock recovery and then reran the OTA update. It appeared to have gone all the way through the process. When I reboot the device I get a pink screen that blinks with white dashes, and it does get to an HTC One splash screen with a blue beats audio icon (different than in 4.3). It never gets passed there.
I am able to adb and fastboot at that screen, so I was able to reflash TWRP, and tried rebooting, but get stuck at the same spot. I had done a TWRP backup a couple weeks ago, so I restored that so that at least I'm functional again.
Any advice on how to get 4.4 on this device?
When I was unlocked and rooted on 4.3 I relocked the bootloader, ran the 4.3 RUU and was able to get the OTA update then re-unlock and re-root
Basically, I did the same thing gwingzero said he did in this post

[Q] How to update to Lollipop using TWRP

As the heading says, I need help installing lollipop using TWRP, sideloading the .zip fails every time. Any suggestions, it would be nice to install this update as it doesn't seem to be coming as an OTA any time soon for me. Thanks.
Well, the OTA came in this morning and saved the day. I reflashed stock recovery just in case, so it wouldn't brick like my G3 did when I tried to install an OTA. I then rebooted after flahing stock and installed the update. All is well.

Glad you got it working, it would seem that you need stock recovery to flash the OTA as the TWRP recovery causes the ZIP's version check asserts to fail. So you wouldn't have bricked, it just wouldn't have installed for you.

[Q] Cyanogenmod OTA Updates

I'm on nightly 3/21, which I installed clean yesterday. I want to update to 3/22, but the update will not work automatically in TWRP. (TWRP cannot mount e:, which is a problem I encountered several times while trying to install CM, and ended in me having to reflash to stock several times before it would work again.... Anyways, that's a separate issue.) I selected the option in Dev options to automatically update CM recovery, but this option does not seem to be working. After having selected that option, then downloading the update and selecting update, the tablet still reboots into TWRP and does nothing.
Which brings me to my question. Can I get the CM recovery img from somewhere and flash it myself in order to get the updates to work? I haven't been able to find it, and TWRP has just been a pain in the neck anyways.
Thanks!

Unable to update latest oxygen OS OTA

It downloads, reboots and tries to install the latest Oxygen update but fails and asks for a reboot.
At one point I installed Kingroot but removed it afterwards. My phone is also encrypted if that matters.
Thanks
having the same problem with my gf's phone...... was a 1003 model if i remember correct.... recovery just had an "Update Failed" and nothing else.... even flashing the full package failed........ i'm considering installing TWRP and going from there but i'd like to avoid that if possible

No recovery?

I think I f-ed up. I wanted to do a clean firmware install, so downloaded and installed the full OTA package from Firmware Finder for my current FW (C636 119).
The phone installed and boots/reboots/works fine. But when I try to get into recovery mode, I get an error message: installation failed.
Any idea what I can do? Will this affect future OTA updates?
