Try using a newer version of recovery to install the Rom. It seems as if you are using a older version of recovery than is required for installing RR.

Thanks Wildfire, saved me saying it! Absolutely amazing how people try to install custom ROMs without following the chef's advice, then jump up and down when things don't work!

Thanks a lot. I will try an other recovery. You'd be very sympathicif you gave me a link to download it.
Thanks a lot

here is a link to a newer recovery. Link: https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/i9100/
If you want to flash via recovery, download the zip file to your phone. If you want to flash with ODIN (recommended), download the tar.md5 file to your PC and flash with ODIN (select as PDA file).

Thanks a lot for your help, it worked !

Clockworkmod Recovery 6.0.1.0 download

Hi, I'm trying to flash the latest version (6.0.1.0) of the ClockworkMod recovery onto my GT-I9100 but I cant downland the required zip file.
The ROM Manager app gives me a download failed message, and the link on the website does not work, I suspect the app just uses the same download. I would post the link but the site wont let me as it's my first post.
Can anyone help. Is there an alternative download link I can use. I notice the links for 6.0.1.0 for other phone models seem to work but I'm not sure about using them on mine.
Cheers
i have the same problem

In samsung phones the recovery isn't separate. It's bundled along with the kernel
To use CWM6 flash a kernel which uses CWM6 like latest Siyah.
Don't use ROM Manager on GSII to flash recoveries.

Please upgrade your recovery to the latest version, PhilZ, CWM or TWRP will work.
Thank you for fast reply.
I have currently last version of CWM.(6.3.4)
I'm very impressed of your work. I've try some custom rom, but Archidroid are my choice.
Thank you so much for your work.

This is not the last version of CWM, you need at least 6.0.4.4.
Yes, I've seen at this moment new version.
I'm using rom installer to flash recovery, but I'm unable to download last version.
Can suggest me other way to get and install CWM?

[Q] Problems with flashing my I9300

Hello guys,
my name is Raphnika and I am complete new to this.
I've tried to flash my Samsung S3 with a custom ROM like the Pacman one.(KK 4.4 or something like that).
I was not able to install it on my device so I tried the Android Revolution HD ROM and that worked for me fine.
It seems like I am not able to flash any KK ROMs to my S3. I keep getting a Status 7 Error...
I googled it and tried many solutions but none of them worked. It might be to the fact that I am a complete noob to this.
I hope you guys can help me!
lots of greetings,
Raph

[Q] How to update recovery and install Beanstalk

Hello everyone,
Today I tried to install a new rom on my Samsung Galaxy SII I9100 but I got some problems.
I had already rooted my phone and installed Philz recovery.
The problem is that I keep getting the same error: status 7. I saw I need to update my Philz recovery but I don't understand how to do that. Can someone help me with that? After I update the recovery I want to install the rom Beanstalk with Google Apps is this compatible?
Thanks in advance for your help!

place both the zip file the cwm one as well as the KK rom (beanstalk in your case) on ur phones internal sdcard.
then reboot to philz recovery and first flash the CWM zip and then again reboot back to recovery.
Do all the wipes using the latest CWM recovery as per the install instruction on the Bean stalk thread and flash the rom.

Try installing a slim/micro/mini gapps package. The gapps package you are trying to flash requires more space as there are more apps associated to it. The packages I mentioned has only the essential gapps for your system. You can search for them on xda.
