If you have received have received a text invitation for the popular messaging service application’s voice calling service, please don’t accept it. Cyber scammers are circulating these fake messages.
According to the recent report by the Daily Star, if Whatsapp users click on the link, they are taken to another website where they are asked to take a survey on behalf of the popular messaging service. But, the survey forces users to download applications and software that might contain dangerous malware.

[Q] Social Hub/Email using Germany IP address?

I've begun to notice that Yahoo and Gmail have been telling me there have been access from Germany such as 195.124.9.241, which comes up as Verizon Germany and I see the word social hub in there somewhere too.
Unfortunately there have been spam email sent from my inboxes to my contacts and the times of sending email corresponds exactly to one of the times while "logged in" from Germany.
Question is, does Samsung really route all it's requested data traffic from users in the UK through Germany? And do you think my phone/samsung emails been hacked or what?

i was curious about that and did a tiny amount of research and found out that verizon germany only exists for companies and government agencies and looking up the ip address gave me this: http://www.ip-adress.com/ip_lokalisieren/195.124.9.241 as a first result. it says that it is SAMSUNG SDS EUROPE LTD (nat-egress-g-01.fra.samsungsocialhub.com). so it seems that your account has not been hacked but that is an actual route for the social hub.
however, spam sent from your email address can still happen, depending on what you did with your address. if you ever posted your address openly on the internet, you are likely to receive spam, but also to be used to send spam. there are so many ghostmailers out there, that don't require your actual login credentials to use your address as a sender and also there are many apps on the market that request to many rights. simple free card games request the right to send sms, call, and read out your imei, contacts and existing sms. that is malware that is able to grab your contacts' information.
also, these days, people tend to care less about privacy, just have a look at the google+ threads and the dozens of people openly posting their email address for millions to read and for bots to grab. facebook and google live from selling your personal information as well.
in conclusion: by not being careful it might easily happen that you give your contacts' email addressses away to receive spam, and your own to send spam, but that does not necessarily mean, someone else actually has access to your google account or whatever email provider you use besides google. but since there is of course still a chance that your account might be hacked, you should still change your passwords for your email account and every site you use with that account (as people that read your inbox might have read what you do on the internet and got that password as well).

Monetizing Web App with its RSS feeds

I created the service appfeed.net (in my signature) that allows users to add apps to a list and receive notifications via RSS when the app is updated or is on sale.
The service is up since 1 year now, and I have a couple thousand users tracking many apps, but I am not able to monetize it correctly to be able to maintain it.
currently the only income is from donations, which are rare, currently after the renewal for the 2nd year I am already paying from my pocket for the hosting.
The problem is that after the initial sign up, users will visit the website rarely, so ads on the website will be mostly useless. I was looking on a way to put ads in the RSS feed, but AdMob and AdSense by Google stopped offering Feed ads.
What else can I do to earn some money to be able to maintain my service?

Stock Email App Notifications Problem

I have a new T-Mobile Galaxy S5. I'm using the stock email app with my organizations Exchange messaging system. My particular account has multiple folders with rules that route messages depending on the sender, pretty common for business users.
The problem is that when I receive two or more emails to any folder other than inbox the notification displays the wrong message. For example, if I get a couple of new emails to a folder called VIP the notification will indicate two new messages, so far so good. However, when I take a closer look the messages indicated are actually the newest from my inbox which could be hours or days old rather than the correct one just received in the VIP folder. It only happens when there are multiple notifications pending for a single account and only within the context of the notifications. If I go to the email app itself everything is where it should be.
Unless I'm missing something this is a huge flaw and I can't imagine how this could have escaped testing. I would very much appreciate if anybody could please advise.

Given that the problem is the type of notification, it's just as likely caused by the remote Exchange server as the email app. If you did a forum search to see if others are seeing the same problem, it would be a lot easier to discern a pattern.
If you want to expedite fixing (a possible) email bug, take the time to describe it well in a post to the Android /Google bug list. Or more expediently, try using a third party Exchange compatible mail app and see if that resolves the issue.

I thought about the backend too but after so many years of using various phones and email clients with Exchange it seemed to me like it was the device. Sure enough, Nine, Touchdown and Mail Wise all work perfectly. Therefore, it’s likely an issue with the stock email app and an obscure one at that. I will pursue reporting the problem as you suggested and take up the matter with T-Mobile too. Searches on XDA and the internet turned up nothing but that could just be me missing something.

I'm not sure that complaining to TMobile will do much. But Google does take the Android bug list seriously. It sounds like you have a good handle on the issue now. Well done.

[Q] Can I stop Twitter from doing this?

Is there a way to not allow this to be done without uninstalling the TweetCaster app? I checked in the app's settings and I don't see any way to stop or not allow updates. I do have Google Play's settings at "Do not auto-update apps" - would this be sufficient? Or may Twitter go behind everyone's back and do this independently through their app and bypass Google Play? I do not want Twitter to be able to identify what apps I have or otherwise have access to my S4 to "target ads" to me.
Please note I Do Not have the Twitter app, I have TweetCaster (if it's different than the Twitter app? I don't know?) I heard facebook was doing this same BS & people deleted the app (I Do Not use FB) and am looking for a way to not allow Twitter to do this (if there is a way to). Now a public company, Twitter is exploring many different ways to boost its revenue, and one method is through better targeted ads. The company already has some personal information about those using its service—what they type into their Twitter profiles and the tweets they post—but now, it wants more. “To help build a more personal Twitter experience for you, we are collecting and occasionally updating the list of apps installed on your mobile device so we can deliver tailored content that you might be interested in,” the company says.
In this way, it’s following the lead of Facebook and Google and so many others that seek to target ads. The difference is that Twitter doesn’t have access to nearly as much personal data as Facebook, which inherently encourages users to provide information about themselves, or Google, which operates a wide range of services atop its own mobile OS. So Twitter is reaching out into other parts of the phone, something that is easy to do. The Apple/Google mobile OSes provide ready access to information like this & many apps take advantage of this—some going much further than others.
Twitter says it will point users to its new data policy, via an in-app notification, before it starts collecting any personal information. But the new update is opt-out, which means that in order for the company to stop gathering data on your account, you must explicitly turn this data collection off. But few users are likely to do so.

I think Tweetcaster is a third party application just like Falcon doesn't have anything to do with the default twitter app. .Or you can just see if that option is listed their within the Tweetcaster application to opt out of it.

Group Chat Retrieval

Hi to all of you developers! First let me say that I am not a developer but am a long-time Android user. I was referred to this forum by a tech support professional who was unable solve my problem after many herculean efforts to do so. I'd really appreciate any help here.
I recently changed to from Verizon to AT&T as my carrier. I had an LG6 with Verizon but am now using a Samsung Galaxy S10e. All of my texts, including group chats (in Message+), were able to be transferred over. For this particular chat group I was the administrator. As soon as the transfer was completed, I noticed that this chat did not appear in the new phone. When I looked at the LG6, and opened up the group chat, a message at the bottom says "you are no longer a participant of this conversation". So this group chat not only didn't transfer to the new phone, I can't participate in the group on the old phone..and no longer am the Administrator. I installed the Message+ app on the new phone in the hopes it would reappear. Like it is on the old phone..but it doesn't.
My question is this: is there an app that can allow me to retrieve this group chat and it's history off the old phone and put it on the new phone? It's important because it contains important information on my mother who recently passed away. It was actually the only text I truly cared about. I know I can be re-added to the group but it will only include info from the time I'm added. I'd really like to see text history and current all there together if at all possible.
Can anyone help?
