[Q] Bricked, Flashing via Odin stuck at NAND WRITE START!! - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, I just f***ed my phone up.
This is what happened
First of all, I'm sorry for my bad english, as I'm not a native speaker
I'm using Archi Droid v3.0.2, while playing a game my phone suddenly rebooted, I thought it was just overheated, but I got a bootloop, I tried to wipe cache & dalvik, reboot my phone... bootloop. I made it to the lockscreen though, but after 5 seconds it will reboot again. I'm wiping my phone through Philz & clean install the Archi Droid ROM, aanndd, still, bootloop. So I tried to restore my Lollipop backup (I downgraded my device to Kitkat because Lollipop is not as sweet as Xposed & A.D. ) and ... I can boot, BUT I CAN'T connect to the Internet, everytime my phone got "H+" signal on the top of the screen, the screen will flicker and signal will be lost (over and over). I can still make calls & sms though (if i turned the mobile data off). Then I tried to factory reset my Lollipop, and at first boot, it says "Installing Apps (or something) ... of 98" I thought it wouldn't install or upgrade any apps after factory reset. THEN I got bootloop again. I gave up, flashed stock firmware via Odin, succeeded. Going through setup & realized I still got this network problem, so i factory reset my stock 4.3 rom & after it finished... Planning to setup my phone and after 10 seconds I got bootloop again. I got a feeling (my feeling sucks) that this is a partition problem. So I tried to flash .pit file with samsung 4.3 stock firmware, and I'm stuck at "NAND WRITE START!!" in Odin. After praying for 1 hour I decided to remove the battery and disconnect my phone from the PC. Now everytime I flash something via odin, it will always stuck at "NAND WRITE START!!"
I want to try this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/solved-pit-bricked-dead-problem-gt-t2535367) though, but I'm afraid to mess my phone up even more.
Now I'm unable to flash ANYTHING into my phone, I need some (a lot of) help here. I'm going to university and asking for a new phone will get me into trouble (they will give me a $10 phone for sure). Thanks in advance

Fixed the problem by using this, Rescue Firmware . Flashed 4.3 rescue firmware with pit file, it worked.
The battery caused boot loop on my phone, guess it's solved then

[Q] Phone will only boot into download - ODIN gives PIT error

I've been having trouble with my phone freezing a lot recently - tried a bunch of different ROMS, kernels, and modems but to no avail.
It sounded a little like the sudden death problem, only things happened like if i was listening to music when it froze, the music would keep playing, i just couldn't interact with it at all.
Anyway, in a last-ditch effort to get it going reliably, i decided to try out a Non-Samsung based ROM this morning (Resurrection remix).
I wiped everything and flashed RR and on rebooting, it just sat at the RR splash screen for a bout 45 minutes (until i killed it).
After killing it, i restarted the phone and it now just sits as the SGS 3 boot screen (with the white text). never gets anywhere though, and it just continually reboots if i try to get into Recovery mode.
So all i can do is get into download mode.
I've tried re-flashing CWM via ODIB, but it just gives me an error saying that 'There is no PIT partition'.
I've also tried re-flashing the original stock firmware and latest stock firmware through ODIN, and i get the same result each time.
What can I try next?
Also: if it's dead, is there some way i can rest my flash counter and yellow-triangle so i can send it in for service?
Try flashing the correct pit file. Looks like your nand is dead, aka sudden death.
You can't reset the counter, but they should fix it anyway
thanks - i suspected as much
I already tried the PIT and no luck, so i'll send it off to get fixed.

[Q] Need help getting out of boot loop

GT-I9300 (international version) (FCC A3LGTI9300A)
Never rooted, just applied official OTA patches when delivered.
Been experiencing random reboots now and then (more rarely than once a week) Some of them seems to have been "softer" than others because I did not need to enter PIN when it started up again.
Then a couple of hours ago, when waking it up (screen turned on but froze before displaying unlock function) it rebooted again and got stuck in boot loop.
When I power it on the first screen (Samsung Galaxy SIII GT-I9300) shows and then it goes to the "fun part"
The blue/purple "Circle"
SAMSUNG logo
blueish glow behind SAMSUNG logo (two short vibrations near the end)
black screen
repeat ad infinitum
Managed to get into recovery to clear cache but that did not help.
I guess factory reset is the next step to try but if there is any chance of anything else working I would prefer not to have to reset.
try reflashing the ROM you had through Odin. And don't ask how, there are tons of guides
Thanks for your quick reply!
Would it have to be the exact same version, or is any 4.1.2 for my model "close enough" to hopefully avoid factory reset?
Every ROM should do the job. But when it works you should save the data you want to keep and do a reset afterwards and flash the ROM again. Just to make sure no issues come up. What you could also try is to hold down the Volume Down button while rebooting and look if you can boot into safe mode. There you could save every neccessary data and do a reset/wipe afterwards.
Try to flash modem depending on your region, it worked for me

Thanks for your tips, unfortunately no luck so far, one more rom file to try before resorting to factory reset...
Update, unfortunately still no luck. For a little while (after going from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2) I was feeling optimistic as the "updating apps" screen appeared when booting, but when it was finished it went back to bootlooping. I am now considering rooting/custom recovery to try to mount partitions so I at least can recover data from internal sdcard-partition.
Didn't want to risk triggering flashcounter if I still would not be able to boot and run TA.
Ended up doing factory reset from stock recovery and phone booted up just fine, guess there was something bad in my data or apps.

[Q]CanĀ“t Flash, help me please

Hi, first of all sorry about my english. Well my brother bought a moto g and he previously owned a galaxy s2, as he wont need it anymore he wants to sell it, and allready sold it, so he asked me to make a factory reset. So here starts the problem, yesterday at night I went to configuration -> restore and backup (or something like that) and restored it, I gave him the phone and told him to let it finish, he came back like 30 mins after saying that the phone was just like I left it, and it wont finish, so I removed the battery to turn it off, when I tried to turn it on again it was stuck on a bootloop.
I thought "ok lets wipe/restore it by entering to the recovery menu", made that, wiped everything, turned off, and on again, and it was bootlooping again.
Then I was convinced that something where wrong with the rom, that maybe the phone was softbricked or something, so I downloaded a stock rom, (I had odin previously installed becouse I had a s2 like 1 year ago) and tried to flash the rom with odin. It got stuck on Setup connection, tried another cable, the same, tried another usb port the same.
I downloaded the latest odin version and tried again, but no it gets stuck on boot.img if I try to flash a full pda, or in zimage if I try to install a kernel (I tried to install a custom kernel like siyah to have cwm and flash a custom rom by the recovery menu).
I red that the last option was to make a repartition with a pit file, and that it was very risky because it may brick the phone. Was my last hope so I made it, odin flashed it without a problem so then I thought the problem was solved and now I could flash a stock rom.
Again I was wrong, I still cant flash anything, I dont know wtf is going on, it seems that I cant write anything on the phone, like it has a sort of "lock" like a micro sd adapter.
Please someone help me, becouse I tried EVERY single method mentioned in this forum and I dont know what to do, Ive owned a defy, galaxy s2, nexus 4, nexus 5, I softbricked them all and I always could repair it, but now I dont know what to do. Thanks
up

[Q] Galaxy S GT-I9003 boot error

Okay, absolute noob here. Crashed my WP8 and after a lot of hunting, found an old Galaxy S GT-I9003, running Froyo. Installed Kies and updated to Gingerbread. Phone worked fine for the first 5 hours (my first time with an android, fell in love with the UI and the apps) However, phone suddenly hanged and shut down on its own. Been stuck in a boot loop since then: between the Galaxy screen and the Samsung logo screen, which goes back to the Galaxy screen. I can boot into recovery and download. Already tried reset/cache wipe. No avail. Tried the emergency firmware thing in Kies. It sort of went halfway and then suddenly blacked out, and after that even that wont work, Kies refuses to recognize the phone. I'm a total noob to Android, so please take a minute to help out? I'm desperate.:crying:
Things to try:
This honestly sounds like the battery is dead, but if we're to assume it's a software problem, just for starters, I would try removing the battery for a few minutes, just because it's easy. If that doesn't work, go back to recovery and wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, and wipe delvick cache. You won't lose any files, pictures, etc. (if you have any from only 5 hours of use) from the wipe data/factory reset process, it will just reset your settings.
If you've tried all of the above, and you have searched for any other possible solutions for your device and/or OS, then I would try reflashing the ROM. You can get your firmware .zip from sammoblie .com/firmware , and you can look up instructions on how to flash a ROM onto your phone online, and feel free to ask questions here.

Try to flash your stock rom:

Ulefone Vienna No command bootloop after failed update

Hi, i have little (or maybe big) problem with my Vienna. Yesterday phone asked for Wireless Update and i allowed it. So Update started to install, almost finished it. But at the end it just gave error and rebooted and then there is just Ulefone logo after what it gives No command error and just continues to bootloop. I tried to wipe cache through recovery and even factory reset. It just wipes my data and thats it. No factory reset. I cant restore backup either. It just says no SD card. I'm kinda new Android user, so i dont know what to do next. Kinda frustrated about that update. It basically bricked my phone. Anyways phone is running stock 5.1 version. Thanks who can help me with this :fingers-crossed:

This had happened to me too. Try to update it again trough sd card by getting into recovery mode (youll find vids how to get into recovery mode). The 6.0 version isnt very good (it can hanlde more apps though, I have ~500 apps). BUT, MOST IMPORTANTLY; after the upgrade factory restet the phone (more than once would, I think, better). I didnt do that and I think I should, since that may enable me now to get again in recovery mode (yeah, now buttons dont work, Ive to do this via PC), my phone maybe would be more compatible with PCs and I may was able to root it. By the way, there is another xda forum about ulefone vienna where you could get more answers and Im not a professional. I hope I helped (with some months delay).
