One reason to why your motoE is charging slowly could be because you've kept your 3G turned on! 3G takes up precious battery juice!

.
The charging time improved after day by day usage now charges in 2 and half hrs. [20%-100%] and the battery backup is now more than 24 hours on normal usage.

Good to hear!

Update : started using Nexus 7 charger and now the phone charges within 2 hours !

The charger that comes with the moto E is only 500mA. That's why it takes so long. Get your self a 1 amp charger at least for faster charging

Good to hear that it will improve on use. I've used a 2.1 A charcher but that seem to be too much The USB cable was really getting hot. Now using a 1 A charcher. so far so good..

S3 Battery: Not charging fully and draining VERY fast :(

Hi All,
The battery on my Galaxy S3 is not charging fully even when on charge all night (it will get to about 70 - 75%) in 10 hours of charging.
During the day, when not on charge, the battery drops like a stone, as you can see in the below screenshots.
I think this started happening when I updated the Samsung firmware to 4.3, but can't be 100% sure. I have tried a tip I found about turning off email sync, but with no change.
Can anyone offer me any help with this?
Cheers

Well .. how old is your device?? coz a battery is not going to last forever .... may be it has lived up its life...
coz i have updated to Stock 4.3 firmware as well and my S3 is around 18months old ... but i am getting an average battery life ...
Thanks

It is about 18 months old. Could be the battery, but I would expect it to last a bit longer than this. It didn't slowly lose charge, it just started dropping very quickly one day.

May be then you can try some other Modified 4.3 Stock roms (like NeatRom, ArchiDroid's Rom etc.) to see what battery performance you get ...
And if you still have the same problem ... the only way to make sure is to buy a new one ...
Thanks
That's horrible. Did you perform a clean wipe after upgrading to 4.3? If you didn't, I suggest you to.
If your device is rooted i highly recommend you to get Boeffla Kernel and It's Boeffla Config application from Play Store and from the configuration app set the AC current to a higher number and enable ignore safety margin.

Faced this issue. Kept losing 10-15% per hour. Changed roms and still had this issue occasionally.
Problem was the battery. Changed it and no issues so far.
A lot of people use the phone for games, movies etc while charging and this shortens the life-span a lot.

How's your Verizon Moto E 2015 battery life???

I'm averaging about 2hrs sot per charge. 2nd charge
Really? I've seen many reviews that praise the battery, one said it's hard to kill.
"I'd Totally Hug You, If That Was Something I Did"
My battery life has been excellent so far. I've owned the phone for 5 days and fully charged it twice and once was a partial 20 minute charge.

I had ~2 hours screen on time last night. This was used mostly for YouTube and some emulation. I plugged it in for the night at 65% or so? You must have an app that is keeping the phone awake when you're not using it.
ive noticed on my UK 2nd gen version that even with all of the battery draining features (data/gps/vibration etc) turned off and "Flight mode" enabled with no sim installed that it's standby time when its mainly sitting dormant seems rather poor compared to my galaxy s3..when comparing both battery stats (my s3 being my main phone connected to a network) my s3 is much more efficient with a leveled decreasing battery graph where as my moto E is like a steep decline...it will go a week between charges if i dont use it where as ive had upto 15 hours on screen time at min brightness with very few apps installed (only bought as a toy, spare) just watching videos..my s3 with stock battery would never get this result it confuses me..on average the moto E loses around 6% per day just standing by while my s3 which is connected and used to text periodically looses about the same..wierd.
I got roughly 5.5hrs of SOT with a poor signal. This is the Verizon variant on Tmobile. It says 7hrs because I started charging while it had 1.5hrs sot, and only charged up to 80%. So these stats were accomplished by using 60% (80-20) of the battery's capacity. Usage consists of opera mini, youtube, short calls, feebly, mixture of LTE/H+, xda app, email, and setting up apps/accounts.
If a root exploit can be found then battery could become much better with greenify and some pesky services disabled. Personally, I'm impressed because I couldn't achieve close to this on a rooted ZF2.

FWIW, kingroot app works. I know some peoples' feelings toward the app - but it did the job.
EDIT - NVM, it doesn't seem to be working on 5.1.
I like the phone's battery. One thing that I'm not sure is a problem with my phone is that I find it to charge really slow with the Motorola Charger, but with my ZTE tablet charger, it charges in about 1,5 hrs. Amperage, maybe? The Motorola charger has 550 mAh, while my tablet has 1500 mAh.
Great battery life

on the XT1528 verizon model the battery life seems to be poor when it was connected to their network. I have dropped the service with them and have been using that phone to play mp3's while we work out the bootlaoder. the battery is preforming much better while playing mp3 most constantly. they seem to be using some resource hogs in their bloatware in my opinion.
My first XT1528 had terrible battery life, but I accidentally bricked it within the first week. My replacement XT1528 has awesome battery life, however. My basis for comparison is my old LG659 (by the end of the day I would average around 25% remaining battery.) The first Moto E would hit 15% in a couple of hours. My current Moto E is typically around 75% by the end of the day now. I'll post a screenshot tonight so there will actually be some usage statistics (sitting at 98% right now.)

I'm running 5.1 my day started at 4 a.m. I worked so it had light use then pretty medium use all day the rest of the day. It says I have 17 hours left at 50 percent battery

Very good standby time. My wife is a very light user and gets 5-7 days between charges.
Mine is not Verizone, no contract whatsoever. and the battery life is just great.
I own this little device for about 2 weeks, and so far my best record is 2d 10h 22 min with 15% left. That is with 4 partial charges while driving using GPS.
It may not be the fastest phone or the best camera around, but battery wise.... ufffff

Weird battery indication issues

I am using the Miui 8.0.1. stable Rom from xiaomi.eu
The battery indications are strange. The number gets low quick, it falls from 100% to 1% in a short period, and I am not doing much on the phone. It takes like 5-6 hours to go to 1 or 0% but when I take the battery out and put it in again and switch on the phone, all without charging it, then suddenly the battery shows like 56%. How can that be? It is quite annoying and makes no sense. The indication is not reliable at all. I don't even know how much battery is really left. Please help

Do you do it every time after charging your battery? How do you calibrate it?
Even after battery calibration, battery drain is still present. This has something to do with Redmi Note 2 having problems connecting to 2g, 3g and 4g cell towers and WIFI chipset.

I have the same with my rn2. Maybe battery controller on mb? Very annoying ?

2 different battery, same problem for me. I could recognize that there is some different, if I use WiFi instead of mobile data...
Looking for a solution as well!
Me too.
I'm trying downgrading to miui 7 to see what happens....

I'm using the last stable miui 7 by xiaomi.eu and the 20 firsts minutes was consuming a lot, after this firsts 20 min it's working very well. I'm on 60 % after one day, with very few use, it's working very well for me.
I have detected that using the original charger causes the problem in my case.
It's better to use a USB port from a computer or an old charger. I think the problem is with fast charge.

I did some tests, I wrote the results also on the official forum in the Feedback on Battery thread.
I always had problem with battery since I got my Prime on Oct. 2015, max ~2h SOT, even on MIUI 7.
I did a test without SIMs, wifi only and I reached ~4h SOT.
Then I did a test again with SIMs and data (set to 3G), ~2h SOT again.
And another test wifi only, ~4h SOT again.
Can someone repeat the same test?
100% to ~15% on data -> ?h SOT
100% to ~15% on wifi -> ?h SOT

Poor battery life

Is anyone else getting poor battery life? Im getting just over 3 hours screen time to a charge. I don't have the official charger but I'm using a quality Anker one so that shouldn't cause a problem. I've come from a Lenovo p2 that used to last 9 hours so it's a bit of a shock

Well same here but sometimes I get 6.30 hours sir but generally around 3 4 4.30 maybe it becomes good after updates idk.
Restart it once a week. Something is getting hung up in the back. I clear my cache once a week. I get 5-7avg over 2.5-3 days per charge. N shut off the location sharing and wifi scanning. Helps so much

Install Accubattery, use the phone normally for a couple of hours and then check screen on and screen off %/h usage. If you suspect some feature to be using more battery, turn it off, restart measurement in Accubattery and compare the results.
