[ROM]BareMetal_v1.0 (10/6/15) - Sprint Galaxy S 5 Android Development

So, this project has taken a slight turn. Instead of a stock modified rom, this is now a stock/debloated/modified rom. I will continue to modify and debloat, and hopefully update it as time permits. If you have any suggestions or requests, feel free to post them here.
If you are a fan of stock roms then this one might be right up your alley. Based off of @tdunham 's stock 5.0 v1.1 de_odexed rom, I added almost all of his mods plus some customization options made by @rompnit as well. MetalROM is a pretty good balance between stock and the options that I use most.
=Thanks=
@rompnit - for inspiration, mods, help, and infinite knowledge
@tdunham - for the same as rompnit
@ficeto - for the awesome customsettings apk
@gharrington - for the awesome 3minit battery mod

@txr33 - Quick PIN unlock and Number Pad Scramble
@daxgirl - enabling all toggles app
-I'm sure that I'm forgetting to thank other people, sorry if I haven't mentioned you.

Does this rom have the same problem with duplicate apps? the apps need to update all the time.

What kernel? Stock or KT?

Stock

Nice job. Thank you. I'm a big fan of stockish roms! Downloading it now.

Been running this rom since last night, only thing sofar contacts closed once wich happens on all the lolli pop roms ,but what is cool the spark star still spins, lol. Oh and there is no battery icon which doesnt matter to me, i always just use the percent anyway..all and all its a great rom and will only get better.....

Thanks! Yea, there are a few things I have yet to tweak.

I honestly never noticed the battery icon was missing, lol. I don't remember taking it out.

Is this the same dev from black ice?

This is an incredible ROM. As always, great work Nitro.
Unfortunately, I just can't stand the Phablet UI (Personal Preference) So back to Toothache I go. If this were to have the tablet UI, it would be the greatest ROM EVER MADE. Period. End of Story. No argument. Once again big props to you Nitro.
Awesome rom, love the darkness spread through the rom, but I'm getting a "unfortunately this has stopped working" on the google now app. As soon as I want to go to the settings I get this. Also when I want to know the weather in my area I get the same thing.

I thought the stock browser on nexus7 WAS chrome browser wasn't it?
I thought other roms added the other browser (the one with blue icon)

This rom is fast. I mean, seriously FAST. The UI is sick, and everything just works with not one issue thus far. I have been pounding on it for the past 2 hours. Excellent job, Nitro. Thanks a whole bunch.

This issue is a pretty easy fix.
Same issue was on the Gnex build, same fix also for until nitro can get to it
Download this
http://db.tt/Uz3FCdwx
Then use a root file explorer(or adb if that's what you are more comfortable with)
Paste in /system/lib
set permissions to rw-r--r--
Delete the lib file that is right above it that has nearly the same name
(The file size for the one you wanna delete is 6.99kb, the one you just pasted in should be 7.00kb)
(Note that I also set owners both to "root" tho o don't think you NEED to, its just all the other libs are set to that)
Then it should work. You MIGHT needs to reboot after pushing and setting permission but I didn't need to.
ENJOY!

I like both UI.
I just find that the tablet UI makes things like the play store not look right IMHO.to each their own right?
If this were a 10in tab I'd be all about the tablet over phablet.

No it looks like there's a bug somewhere in it. I just downloaded a few theme things and it tried to flash it automatically and failed cuz it was looking for rom manager and use twrp/goo manager. Other than that "SO FAR" everything seems to be smooth. Will report back later with anything that i find. :good:

Thanks. The rom is nothing compared to MOAR, but it may be something people want to try.
yupp
i'll have to check this out.
Nice to see this out!
How's vacation treating ya?
Is there any way you can make an odex version?
Doubtful. In my opinion it isn't worth it.
I'm getting quite a bit of lag, especially with the gallery. Anyone else? I think I know the problem.

Lag in general and S Health force closing after doing the s health update.
S health works fine for me, I think the build.prop needs to be fixed.
This is the stock build.prop. Push to system, fix permissions and reboot.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/zvabigjifa0j0f9/build.prop
Are you using xposed? If so there is a fix floating around that fixes the s health issue.
Is this rom denox ?
There are no Knox apps, and supersu will disable what's left
1.1 link?

It's not quite ready yet. I'm still testing it. Hopefully tonight I can post it.
It's uploading now. I'm heading out of town in the morning so I hope there are no issues.

bhai :highfive:
Thanks for short review:laugh:
Any bugs I should worry about?
There is an issue I'm having with many roms including all CM/CAF based roms and XOS.
When we disable the hardware buttons and use software keys, they don't completely get disabled. If you keep your finger on hardware back button while using the touch screen as you would, the touch pointer gets messed up, ie, the scrolling stucks. And this happens throughout the UI, not only the launcher. Just try it yourself and you'll know.
This issue persists here or not?
Work Xposed with the Rom? Greetings

Firstly Great Work. Great ROM , very smooth
I found 2 things to be wrong
1. Instead of day and date both the time date is printed in settings --- The Vortex --- Clock and date
2. Gestures option are there twice in settings
Other than this it is Absolutely Perfect! :good:
EDIT : I think 1st point was my bad
