I am looking for the source code of 4.1.B.0.431's application framework (source code of jar files in /system/framework ). I have got CM9's framework's source code but could not find Stock Rom's source.
Can someone help me in finding it please ?

Agree :highfive:
Well, I only need framework.jar's source code.
(Bytecode injection and java class decompiling would not work in all cases.
)
I am looking for it since I found out that Sony has released the source code of Xperia S kernel
I am sure that someone could find it

You can't find it. it's not public released. Android open source in OEM's meaning is releasing kernel, and maybe some libraries source code. You can't expect that big company, like Sony, can release something that makes their phones another than pure AOSP, that costed a lot of their employers effort.
I don't think that Sony has made huge changes (like changing classes names and methods) in the original framework. So, they won't loose that much in releasing the source code. Android isn't their own operating system. Anyway, if someone can get it that would be great.

Advice for a newbie

Hello,
I want to develop an app for the Android OS but I am a total newbie and need some advice to get started.
What I want to do is study and add some extra features to the existing Android Open Source Project Contacts Manager (found in github: github.com/android/platform_packages_apps_contacts/tree/jb-release). I figured that reinventing the wheel is a bit stupid. I tried downloading the source code and creating a new android project from existing code in Eclipse. Unfortunately the code is full of references to classes that aren't there. I don't understand how this is possible when everything seems to be in order, the Google APIs are there including Android.jar.
Obviously I am doing something wrong or I have missed something, or maybe I am doing this totally wrong. Thanks in advance.

[Q] Using ROM source to delevope ASOP or CM ROM

I've been looking at getting a Huawei Honor 3C and finally found the website of where to actually get the official ROM from:
http://zh.ui.vmall.com/emotiondownload.php?mod=myrom&modelid=32
Anyway I also found they had the source, downloaded it, opened the .GZ file and the single file says "H30-U10_kernel_opensource" (H30-U10 being the model code for the device. Says its a JellyBean kernel-3.4.5
Anyway I was reading the other day about source code being useful for porting CM to a device that doesn't currently have it. I'm happy to have a go when I get the device, but I was wondering is this going to be enough to fill in the missing bits?
Mainly asking cause this uses a Mediatek MT6582 processor which apparently people don't have the source for, so they can't build proper ROM's for it. At they talking about the SOC source or a decent ROM source.
Anyway, thank for any advice/help you can give me.

[Q] What is the most proprietary code-free android ROM (except Replicant)?

I'm looking for a ROM that is proprietary-code free as possible.
I know Replicant, but unfortunately there is lack of development and devices support.
I know that Cyanogenmod for example contains proprietary code, like Google Analytics. In addition, as I understand OmniROM created because of this Cyanogenmod's proprietary code.
How is it in terms of FOSS?
Any other recommendations?
Thanks

[HELP] Device Request MOKEE OPEN SOURCE

Hello friends, I am writing so that together we will achieve something that will benefit us all.
MoKee OpenSource is based on the Google AOSP. We update our source code frequently to keep up with the latest development, and not forgetting to merge in special features of our own at the same time.
A small group of people from around the world who are interested in Android launched this project on the 12th of December 2012, and is committed to make this ROM better and better. Like most contributors of open source projects (Omni, CyanogenMod, Slim AOSPA etc), we are doing all these in our free time as our passion…
Since this project is open source, anyone interested can participate in the development (maintain new devices, contribute code etc). Newcomers are always welcomed!

Source: official website of "Mokee open source" in the section about
This ROM is very good, delivers great performance gains on our devices, I personally used in my previous smartphone (Galaxy S2 i9100) and if not for spoiling that I still continue to use thanks to Mokee.
So now, this group has developed a community Mokee google plus (which I can not give the link, and that despite much I visit this forum for years, recently dared to enroll today, and rules are rules) You can find this easily by typing in google "open source community Mokee google plus".
In the section "Device request" please discuss who want open source Mokee for Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and maybe if we are many, we consider and develop this excellent ROM for the device.
I and several others already did, but the more the merrier.
Cheers
I think that to create an open source rom, you should have access to the full mtk sources and model drivers, which is not the case.
