Scripts stop continuous synchronization of contacts, show SIM contacts, show call history for standalone mode.
You can also edit contacts in the computer by sqlite.

Very nice ... good work!

In my case both the contacts and call history are available in standalone mode, even though i have not run your script. I have synched with a Galaxy phone once and from then on i have them.
Thank you for your effort!

If a Gear S is synchronized with a smartphone in the initiation, it is not a standalone mode. Standalone mode is initiated after hard reset and 30 taps on the screen.
But anyway thanks for assessing the development of roger1383
roger1383 is waiting for your check and reports!

Okay, now it is clear.
Thank you!

All it did on mine was add the three contacts you have in your image. My SIM card contacts are still not found.

Tks

Even when in standalone mode
TMOBILE: OA7 firmware no root
Mic stopped working on my old one had to warranty it for my new one

Worked with my USA version Samsung Gear S (SM-R750A, software versionR750AUCU1AOB1),(AT&T).
Thanks!
Edited the sql data, too, with "DB Browser for SQLite" from http://sqlitebrowser.org/. Took awhile for me, an infrequent sql'er, to get a handle on the database Samsung has laid out for us. They've got some impressive capability built in to it. Selectable ring tones by caller & vibration, too. Groups, plus the usual p.o. addresses & email addresses, and more.
I made a copy of the Boris & Natasha db, edited it and added new contact photos on a Windows computer, then sdb'd it to the watch over a USB cable using Shum Channel's "contacts-svc_script.bat". Pretty bulletproof (thank goodness!)
Until somebody automates this, here are a couple of notes for beginners like myself who don't currently have a Samsung phone to mate their Gear S watches to and who just want to add a couple of frequent contacts:
To start, put two narrow blank columns on the left side of a page and beside them list the contacts you want to put on your watch like this: first the name, on a line by itself, then below it put each phone number for that name on its own line, then below those put the file name of the contact's photo, in jpeg format & sized 96x96 pixels. Repeat below it all with the next name & its numbers & photo and keep repeating until you've listed all the contacts you want on your watch in the next hour or three.
In the first column you made number just the different names, 1 through whatever, leaving blanks for the phone numbers and contact photo names. In the second column number the total lines, including names, numbers & photos, starting at 26 and going to whatever. So, for instance, say you have 5 contacts each with 3 numbers and a picture. The name column has numbers 1 thru 5 beside each name, blank spaces beside the phone numbers and photo files. But the other column, the line number column, is numbered on every line, names & numbers & pix, 26 through 51 (in the example). This is how the database is laid out, except until you change it there are only three names in the database, each with three numbers and a picture, numbered 1 through 3 for names and 26 thru 41 for lines.
Photo notes:
Edit contact photos to 96x96 pixels each (easy in M.S. Paint). Looking at your list, rename the photos for each contact according to the database's scheme: contact#_line#-10.jpg, like the sample pictures. So they'll look like this: 1_30-10.jpg or 3_40-10.jpg or like the stock image files already in the c:\sdb\image folder, and put them in the c:\sdb\image folder. FYI, the "10" at the end of each file name is the file's "image_changed_ver" number taken from the "contacts" page of the "Browse Data" tab. If you to set every "image_changed_ver" to 10 it makes life a little easier.
To see the sample contacts open DB Browser for SQLite, open c:\sdb\.contacts-svc.db, select the "Browse Data" tab, locate "Table:" and select "contacts". Double-click on first name in "display_name" column to select & edit it. Click "OK" to close the edit box, single click the edited text to select it, Cntrl C to copy it, double-click the field in "reverse_display_name" and Cntrl V to replace it. Do the same for that line's fields under "sort_name" and "rev_sort_name" to replace them. In the "changed ver" column change the "8" to "10" then do the same in the "image_changed_ver" to simplify photo naming.
Now in "image_thumbnail_path" double-click the first photo file and change it to 1_30-10.jpg or to whatever the name of your file works out to be.
Do the same for the other two stock entries, replacing their particulars with yours.
To add new lines for new entries, one line at a time, click the "New Record" button. In the blank line that appears change each new element to match the elements above it, if all the above are the same. Otherwise, if the info above is numerical and increments, then add one to the last number and enter it. If the column is for regular contact info put in yours in. "NULL" in fields means blank, BTW, not zero or blank 'space' character. "contact_id" and "person_id" columns contain sequential info so make those entries 1 more than the one above them.
Make "addressbook_id" zero (false). Same for email ("has_email" column). Whenever all above rows are same, type that (except if they all say "Null", then just leave it blank). Add "display_name" info from the name field of your prepare list. Same for all the "name" spaces.
"sortkey" stumped me so I winged it (and it worked.) I double-clicked the value above, selected "binary", copied the long hexadecimal string, pasted it in the new "sortkey" field but then made it unique by adding 1 to the last pair. Then I copied that hexadecimal string & pasted it to the field beside it, the "reverse_sortkey" column. For "changed_time" I just copied the time above at pasted it. For "uid" I incremented, added 1 to the largest uid above. Put your correctly coded photo file in the "image_thumbnail_path" column and that line's done.
When you've entered all the names on your list click "Write Changes" before you even think about doing anything else... :^)
In the window beside "Table:" select "data".
Changing "data" lines is like "contacts". Just more of it. When replacing the stock phone numbers (+7....), if my contact didn't have three numbers, I just used 0. But I didn't leave any of the demo numbers. Just me being paranoid...
After "data" drop to "name_lookup" and replace and add names to that table. "data_id" column looks like line numbers, "contact_id" is name numbers.
After "name_lookup" drop to "persons" (in "Table:" window) and update the image file names.
Then drop to "phone_lookup" (in Table and update/add phone numbers. "data_id" is line numbers, "contact_id" is name numbers.
Drop to "search_index" and update "name" and "number" fields (if program hasn't already done it)
Drop to "search_index_content" and update (if program hasn't already done it)
Click "Write changes", open cmd box, connect your watch,
c:/sdb/sdb devices
(if you're connected)
c:/sdb/contacts-svc_script_img
c:/sdb/contacts-svc_script
restart your watch and see if it worked!

(3 September 2008) S2V v0.42 - Slide2View

S2V is a stylus-free picture viewing application. It can also be used to set up the wallpapers for S2U2 (0.97 or later); assign a pic to a contact; set it as Today's wallpaper; or send it via MMS/email.
Prerequisition:
- WM5 Phone or WM6 Professional devices
- free RAM: at least 6M for QVGA
- if you cannot start S2V, delete the whole registry tree HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\A_C\S2V, then start S2V again.
Changes of v0.42
- fixed the occasional bug that S2V quit unexpectedly when viewing a particular folder.
- added the options to change the sorting menu symbol. It's only useful for those devices that cannot display the triangles on the sorting menu. How? Create a registry value AscendingSymbol (String) at \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\A_C\S2V\, set the content to whatever you want, e.g. ^, or even a word (ascending). Create another one called DescendingSymbol for the descending order.
- fixed some minor bugs.
Changes of v0.40 (20-8-2008)

- added sort option by time or name.
- added thumbnail pic cache (the cache folder can be custom by the registry value "CacheFolder" at \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\A_C\S2V\).
- added send function to send a pic via MMS/email.
- added sliding effect when zooming a pic.
- added support to RealVGA.
- reduced the chances of blank screen when a device has enough memory.
- separate CAB files for QVGA(low-res) & VGA(high-res) devices.
- changed some menu labels; for non-English translation, pls refer to the lang.ini file.
- fixed some minor bugs.
Changes of v0.38 (23-5-2008)
- added a delete function.
- added option to open a pic through the command switch (for advanced users, you can now associate pic files to be opened by S2V).
- added some shortcuts: ANSWER key to quit; END/OK key to minimize; tap the top right corner to minimize.
- reduced the RAM usage a little.
- reduced the contact pic size so as to reduce the chance of Outlook sync error (but for VGA or above devices, there is still chances that the pic will over the size that Outlook can handle).
- all system icons are live when S2U2 (v1.00 or later) is already running in the background.
- fixed the issue that some devices cannot run in Landscape mode.
- fixed some minor bugs.

(update 2009/11/14) My Todayscreendialer

Hello all,
iam currently playing around with my own made C# picture dialer that is displayed as a today item. it enables a user to see pre defined photo contacts. I have not made this to be an improvement of any existing applications. I mainly wanted to see if i could make something that i myself found usefull.
It is not a finished product, perhaps it never will be, please use my settingseditor to configure the application. Also due to memory issues i have removed the resize option. please use images that are 48x48 for QVGA and 96x96 for VGA
features:
- QVGA & VGA usable
- Identify contact with photo or name
- 1 or 2 rows with 5 contacts each
- a long (2 second) press on the photo dials the number that belongs to the contact.
- option to assign two numbers to one photo contact, eg the first number is dialed when you press the photo for two seconds, the second number is dialed when you press the photo for four seconds.
- option to vibrate and/or play a sound to notify 2 seconds have passed to dial a number
One row :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Two rows:
To use it, do the following:
1 download and install the "ChrisTec Managed Today Screen Item Framework" on you device (install it on your device, i do not know if this will work if you install it on a storage card) at http://www.codeplex.com/ManagedTodayScreen
2 Copy the contents of the Todayscreendialer.zip file to the directory \Program Files\Managed Today Screen Framework
3 configure the settings.xml file (see below) - please use the settingseditor
4 Reset your device (or refresh your today theme) - using the settingseditor will automatically refresh the today theme once you have applied the settings
Todayscreendialer settings.xml
the settings.xml included should be used as follows:
<PictureCaller rows="1" sound="false" vibrate="true" dialNumber="false" soundLocation="your wav file location">
rows="1" -> numer of rows to display either "1" or "2" rows.
sound="false" -> specify if you want to have a sound played if you press the photo button for 2 seconds.
vibrate="true" -> specify if you want to have the device to vibrate if you press the photo button for 2 seconds.
dialNumber="false" -> in case you want to test the buttons without dialing. please set this to "true" if you want the application to dial !
soundLocation="your wav file location"> -> if sound is set to "true" you must specify a valid file (use the complete path)
For each Photo or name contact you should add a <Item id="a number from 1 - 10">
a photo contatc should be added like this:
<Item id="3">
<Name>Callers name</Name>
<Picturelocation>picture.jpg</Picturelocation>
<PhoneNumber1>12345678</PhoneNumber1>
</Item>
a name contact should be added like this:
<Item id="5">
<Name>Callers name</Name>
<PhoneNumber1>12345678</PhoneNumber1>
</Item>
please keep in mind that the maximum number of items is 10 (for 2 rows)
There are two options that can be set per <item>:
visible="false" -> set item to visiible or not, default this is true
multipleNumbers="true" -> if you would like to use two numbers with the same contact use multipleNumbers="true". It is imperative that you include <PhoneNumber2>12345678</PhoneNumber2>
or else the application will not work properly
hope all this is a bit clear !
U can use the settingseditor to configure the settings.xml.
Simply copy it to your device and start the program. It will search for the settings.xml file in \Program Files\Managed Today Screen Framework

i am not really an expert in special effects on pictures. But perhaps i can make it work
i will look into creating a seperate settings application that edits the settings.xml.
Now this is exactly what I am looking for, sort of. I know my suggestion may spoil your thoughts of how you want the program to behave but hey it is just a suggestion Here goes, is it possible to bring upp a menu with all the numbers you have on that contact, for instance home,work and so on when you long press on the contact picture? I think this feature would be great but as I mentioned you are the author and you do as you want, its a suggestion. Weird no one else has created a similar software before.

good suggestion, however my main idea behind the long pressed button approach is that a person does not have to look on the screen to see what number is to be dialed. I use the plugin extensible in my car. I just have to look which contact i want to dial and start pressing the photo contact. The app will do the rest.
However, it is possible to do this, so if you (and other people) want this approach I can see if i can incorperate it at a later stage. It will probably will be around the time that i have figured out to directly connect the PIM contacts to the plugin.
Creutz' idea should definitely be included in the upcoming releases, but as it has been mentioned above try think about some sort of built in configuration instead of manually xml-file editing.
special effects...not seriously needed
Very nice software. Thank you. I like this wallpaper too. Would you mind sharing that or direct me as to where I may find it?

Okay, i have finished a settingseditor to edit the settings.xml. hope someone finds it usefull. please also download the new Todayscreendialer.zip.
I was wondering if anybody was using the application.and if anybody had comments or suggestions.
Ido you need to make some registry settings?
Hi, yesterday I stumbled on your application an dwant to try it. From some other internet sources I understand that also some registry settings must be made to make it work. Is that correct?
At the moment I cannot 'see' your plugin on my today screen.
Please advise, and thanks for sharing your application

[APP] (26 August 2009) Avatar - Ultra-smooth and finger-friendly photo dialer

I'd like to announce my latest app, 3 months in the making: Avatar! Avatar is a photo dialer with the ultra-smooth scrolling and low memory footprint characteristics you love about iContact and iDialer.
Avatar is extremely easy to use:
Flick to scroll among your contacts. Contacts without pictures will not show up.
Tap an avatar to bring up details. This is where iContact integration kicks in: if iContact is installed, Avatar will use it. If not, it will bring up the standard contact manager.
Tap-and-hold on an avatar to call using that contact's "smart property": the one that shows up in the standard contact manager. "<m>" = mobile, "<w>" = work, "<h>" = home, etc.
That's it! Easy!
Avatar features:
low memory footprint - only around 100KB on VGA
Works on all screens: VGA, QVGA, WVGA, WQVGA, Square
AppToDate support
Ultra-smooth scrolling
Integrates with iContact and iDialer

WOW!
Works great on imate 9502 wm6.1!
Impressive, as always.
But, can we have a way to close the program?
However...
Fdc Task Manager show 0% cpu usage when minimized.
Am I wrong? Amazing if this is true
Toggle
I made Mortscript prg to toggle Avatat display on/off through HButton.
AT = ReadFile ("\Storage Card\My Todays\a.txt")
If (AT = 1)
AT = 0
Minimize (Avatar)
WriteFile ( "\Storage Card\My Todays\a.txt" , AT )
Exit
EndIf
Run ("Storage Card\Program Files\Avatar\Avatar.exe")
AT = 1
WriteFile ( "\Storage Card\My Todays\a.txt" , AT )
Exit
Just requires a folder named "My Todays" on the Storage Card, a simple text file in that folder named "a" containing either a "1" OR "0" to start.
Then create a shortcut to your windows start menu, then hook up with HButton.
How about the first contact icon (top left) and last icon in avatar to minimize?
Or a left to right swipe across screen to minimize?
This addition to the iContact/iDialer/GreenButton family is awesome!
nice work as always mate .
Excellent.
How about displaying a generic image/photo for contacts without custom pictures?

Nope, it's a simple install.
Closing Avatar....
If you touch the top right corner of the screen it will exit the program. (It stays running in the background though).
If you want it to COMPLETELY close after you exit, point your registry editor to
HKCU/SOFTWARE/SUPWARE.NET/AVATAR/exitOnMinimize
and change the value from zero (0) to one (1).
Hope it helps!

Its very, very good...
I'm thinking of using it instead of iContact even...
Atention that the link on http://www.supware.net/Avatar/ points to another thread.
Just a few thought, there could be some extra options to:
- See the default taskbar (easier to close)
- Close on action (I saw the registry tip and noticed they are both there, eheheh)
- Switch click methods (click to call, press to see info)
- See all contacts, the ones without photo would have the default avatar picture (some I just cant get a photo easily).
Thank you for another great work!
I tried it again, today, must have been my xperia, i rebooted it etc. Great app, I have been using while driving, lot easier and safer.

Thanks for the feedback! (and everyone else too)
I fixed the link on my web site, thanks. For your #3, I originally had it switched, but I ended up accidentally calling people all the time. I think the way it is now is safer. For #4, I thought about that too, but my list would then look like mostly default avatars with a couple pictures every now and then. In that case, using a photo dialer is more annoying than just a text list of names like iContact. I thought perhaps if changing it to display a "category" instead of "all contacts" it would be better to display default avatars, but right now it can't display a single category. Maybe in the next version
I really love this app. Possible enhancement: being able set the contacts to match a category. This way if you want only a certain group you can set that, like an office setting and weekend setting.

That's a good idea. I've been thinking how to best handle that, and how to integrate it with iContact.
Fantastic app.
On my Diamond some photo contacts appear distorced, would be nice an option to show the photos in the real proportions (cutting the top&bottom or left/right sides).
lob
great app! don't add default avatar images, the point is that only your "favourites" are showing up - the people you cared to add image for.
for that reason, it may make sense to add an extra button to the iContact app (on the bottom) which would open the Avatar! For me that would be more useful than the current iContact favourites, which is only a(n incomplete) category filter (without separation/scrolling by first letter, nor the option to chose a category different than the favoured...)
Thinking in this way - best solution would be that the favourites button is changed to open avatar button.

how do i install this on the hd2
installation
You can download file to your PC and then copy it to HD2 storage through ActiveSync or card reader; or, you can download file directly to device using HD2 web browser.
Here's the link: moneyharp.com/content/moneyharp.cab
[as a new user I'm not allowed to post links, please copy-paste them]
Then browse to downloaded file on the device and double-click it - choose where to install (storage footprint is 0.5MB, so "Main Memory" should be ok), press "ok".
There's also an illustrated guide here: wmexperts.com/articles/howto/how_to_install_uninstall_and_t.html
Please let me know if there are any issues.
it not work on wvga device
Doesn't work on Touch HD , the installation went fine but the program just wouldn't start, it tries to start you can see the hour glass turning but it just doesn't start.
Hi moneyharp,
I have tried little on moneyharp and i already like it. It is completely finger friendly, fast and easy to enter expenses and incomes along with setting up the budget. However there are few things that i noted:
1. After the installation, the program doesnt have an icon
2. It is finger friendly but not user friendly. This could be because i am comparing it with winmoFinance and easy expenses
3. I dont like the color scheme
4. i like application which i can scroll up and down with touchflo. With moneyharp you need to press the up and down key for that. With touchflo, you can remove these two keys and have more space on the screen
5. you can move the list and summary in menu. This will allow more space on screen as currently user can see only 4 items on one screen. Personally i would like the screen to be used maximum to see the entry rather than buttons
6. There should be an option to add notes.
7. As an end user, i would like to capture date and not time in a expense
8. User should have the option to import or export settings or move them to a different location so that in case system crashes or user hard resets phone, the data is saved.
I will use moneyhard couple of days and post my feedback. You are doing a great job. Keep it up. I am looking forward to the next release.
Hi chautruong:
Can you please specify - does it crash, or just does not start, or..?
Hi zjxpot:
Can anyone having Touch HD confirm that moneyharp has an issue with this device?
Meanwhile, I will test in WVGA emulator.
Hi jaskiratsingh:
1. In next release. Just have to draw it.
2. I have tried several expenses apps myself, but tried to write moneyharp as if it was my invention - some concepts really differ. But that doesn't mean I was right. What irritates you most?
3. The skins feature is already there - I will post the skin config file and instructions how to change it shortly.
4. I tried to avoid any device-specific features (in fact, moneyharp doesn't even use hardware buttons). But I am considering some gestures support.
5. I see. But then: - which view (list or summary) do you use more often?
- where to put current balance?
6. My idea was tags should be used for that - than you can generate reports on them. But maybe this is too constrained.
7. You can skip setting time part altogether. If more people are irritated with that, I will leave date only.
8. Backup/restore - in next release. Meanwhile, you can copy config.stor, main1.stor and main2.stor files from program directory to backup location.
Thank you very much for feedback! Please keep on - I need it.
well so far its pretty good,i just wanted a app that i could keep track of what's in the bank and every time i make a transaction i could post it and it will tell me how much i have left and so far that's what this is doing. but there is no icon pic on the app and when k first installed it it told me to install another app so this one could work better,do youknow about that
sorry. i didn't explain exactly. it run fine on my htc touch hd but not full screen (may be it support wga screen only?)
Nice apps!
Some comments:
1. It seems that there is not Unicod support - Cyrillic letters seen as ???
2. Autoserach in category - when you have long list, it is annoying to scroll. Can you make window for text entering using keyboard (with autocomplete function)?
3. PC companion would be great
4. Account groups would be useful
5. On WVGA screen there is empty space at the bottom
6. Export from Cashorg and other application
Maybe some inspiration
Cheers for the app so far.
Looking forward to seeing this develop.
My friend showed me an app called Money book on her iBone. What was a nice feature is that once you'd added some things to its various categories you could turn the phone to landscape and it was show a bar chart of how much you'd spent in each category (for that month).
You could maybe set periods (e.g. between pay day and the next) so that you could analyse expenditure during that period, ideally graphically like the above idea.
All the best with it!
Ian
Hi jkiller122:
- next release will have icon
- you're probably talking about .NET framework - moneyharp requires that to run. But in Windows Mobile you should already have it installed.
Hi again chautruong:
yes, I can see it in emulator too. Finding out where's the problem now.
Hi landau:
1. yes, currently Western European encoding is used. Will try to fully adopt Unicode in next release.
2. When you have really long list (>100) and keep the button pressed, it starts to accelerate the scroll (jump 5 at a time). Also, if you use some categories often, put a space in front of its name - it will appear on top of the list.
3. After next release
4. I just disabled that, because I was not sure as to how count group account balance in total balance (omit it? omit accounts in group?) Can you please describe the use case scenario for that?
5. yes, looking at it now (see reply to chautruong)
6. Which format do you use to export from Cashorg (OFX/QFX...)? Also, some details will be lost if you import to moneyharp - e.g. it doesn't have check numbers.
Hi otherworld:
- have you tried the reports (menu>Reports)?
Thank you for your feedback! Keep it coming!

Hi Moneyharp,
Please find few comments below:
1. sorting option i.e. ascending date or descending date order
2. if user changes the date, in next transaction the system date should populate instead of chosen date by the user
3. Add a transaction and in Income/Expense: Expense is populated. User can save the transaction, which shouldnt be allowed. This should be Blank and user should be forced to populate income/expense
4. For better UI, as per me,you can remove the time in list view and add income/expense type in same line. Check attachment
In response to backup/restore, what i meant was that the files that contain data should be at a different location say /Storage Card/Expenses and application can point and pick and save data there.
I use the list view mostly. You can keep views : list and summary in menu. You can leave current balance at the bottom or move the current balance at the top
Hi jaskiratsingh
1. moneyharp always sorts records by date in ascending order, and initial position is in the end of the list, so that you see latest entries. An option could be to show either top or bottom of the list (first or last records) - ?
2. The idea was that in one session date is likely to be the same - e.g. you enter transactions for yesterday. moneyharp just repeats the date from last entered transaction in current program usage session.
What are others thinking of that?
3. I didn't want to be too restrictive. User should understand that if he wants full and descriptive reports later, he should fill in all the data. But what if he/she is interested only in some categories or payees tracking - e.g. I want to know how much went to some payee, but no matter the purpose. From my experience, you can't foresee all scenarios, and too many constraints limit them.
4. You have really thought and elaborated on UI options - very impressive!
Still, priority and one of stem ideas in moneyharp is finger-friendly UI. If transaction entries are half the current height, it will be not so comfortable to tap them with your finger (most devices still have touchscreens far from ideal). Also, I noticed that you don't use Payee field - that is why it could fit in 1 line.
That said, you don't tap and edit transactions often - so maybe it's ok to make them narrow.
I invite others to share their opinion!
Option to change the files location - already in list for next release.
Again thank you very much - you provide very qualified and creative review!
Hi moneyharp,
I hard reset my phone and after reinstallation i copied config.stor, main1.stor and main2.stor. Started the application. All the transaction are back but the total is not displayed. Kindly check
Hi jaskiratsingh
Total is 0 or not displayed at all? Are you able to send me some screenshot?

Total was not displayed at all.
I checked now and it is being displayed. Previously, I restarted the ppc couple of times because of installation of applications.
No clue on what happened.
My total was a five figure number.
Just installed to have a look and see how this compares to Cash Organizer, which I use currently.
A few comments that I have initially is the MoneyHarp are:
MoneyHarp doesn't seem to handle screen rotation well. Seems to use the screen height when started to scale the application resolution. This make it very small when started with my keyboard extended and the screen landscape. The application doesn't alter the resolution when switching orientations, so when I slide the keyboard in and switch to a portrait screen the right side of the app is off the screen.
Expect to be able to scroll any of the lists and not have to use the up/down arrows to navigate the menus, etc.
Would also like to be able to have dates shown based on the date style set in the OS or at least have the option to set month before date in the app. Most dates show as I have set in the OS, but when altering the date on transaction entry, it has day before month/year. I would prefer to have month, then day, then year and I'm not sure I would set a specific time ever.
One thing I really like about Cash Organizer is the shortcut they have for adding a new transaction. I map that shortcut to a hardware key and it speeds up entry while on the go. With definitely improves the accuracy of my account balances, since I don't forget to enter later.
MoneyHarp also covers up the bottom bar, which I wouldn't expect. An option to not hide would be appreciated.
MoneyHarp doesn't respond to the back key. Should be able to hit the back key and minimize the app.
I will keep testing more and report back what I find.
Looking very nice so far and keep up the great work.
Hi SinisterJunkie
- I deliberately use portrait orientation only, so when started in portrait it's ok. However, scaling problem in landscape you describe is a bug. I will do my best to correct/workaround this problem in next release, so that it is scaled correctly and you just need to turn it if started in landscape.
- I have this on my list, but next release probably won't include gestures yet.
- I use Windows setting throughout, but in date control it is fixed. Change month and day positions depending on OS setting - noted.
- CashOrg have a separate application for speed entry. I wanted to avoid that and make the main app speedy enough - so you can map a button to moneyharp app, and 'add new' is just 1 click away!
- Since moneyharp has it's own keyboard (or you can switch to standard keys in Options), I didn't think it to be a problem... User's habits greatly differ though. Can you describe the "use case" - how do you use bottom bar while in moneyharp?
- Hitting it will shut down the application on any screen, while on some devices users would expect it to act like 'ok' when e.g. entering transaction and that will frustrate them. I decided to steer away from hardware-dependent functions, at least in first release.
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts! Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

[TUTORIAL] Create APK watchfaces with or without coding skills - Project GreatFit

IntroductionThis project scopes to provide an easy way to create Amazfit APK watchfaces even without coding skills!
On the other hand, the provided code is clear (still working on this ), contains many comments and is at "the state of the art" when it comes to Amazfit APK watchfaces development.
This code refers to both designers and programmers so feel free to skip the parts about developers.
THIS TUTORIAL IS DEPRECATED WITH THE NEW SOURCES. Most parameters are now gathered in one file: GreatFit\app\src\main\res\values\arrays.xml, read that file, it's quite easy to make changes now. I haven't been able to update the tutorial since I improve GreatFit and its connection with Amazmod.
FeaturesWhy to use these APK watchface sources and not an *.wfz file or other sources? Because:
Customize hours and minutes separate
Display custom battery/steps/daily steps progress bars
Display custom battery/weather icons
Display date/month/day separate
Display more weather info (humidity, wind direction and strength, UV status, city)
Display next watch alarm
Display air pressure
Show/hide units (for calories, distance, temperature)
Easy to enable/disable elements
Easy to position elements in the screen (same positions for screen on and off modes!)
Easy to set element colors
Preparation:
With or without coding skills, you will have to download and install Android Studio in order to compile the java sources to an APK.
Additionally, you will need to download the sources from here.
Project's Structure:Run Android studio, click file->open and select the sources folder. In Studio's left column you will now see project's structure.
View attachment 4559933
You only have to edit 3 things to make a watchface:
Watchface's parameters (elements' positions in the screen and other features)
Images
Fonts
For developers
To start with, you can add more watchfaces in the same APK by editing the manifest and creating 2 new java classes identical to GreatFit and GreatFitSltp.
Within each of these classes you will be able to load each watchface's widgets. There are currently 8 widgets:
- MainClock, where all the time and date elements are handled
- Circle widget, where battery (as number), calories, steps and distance elements alongside with the progress circles/bars are handled.
- Heart rate widget
- Battery widget, that handles the battery images
- Floor widget
- Weather widget, where the weather magic happens
- Great widget, where I try to make new elements work (like am/pm, next alarm and Xdrip)
Watchface's parameters:There are 5 files containing watchface's parameters inside "app\src\main\res\values":
bool.xml (Show/hide: elements, units, progressbars, icons & set the text aligment center or left for each element)
colors.xml (Show/hide: elements, units, progressbars, icons & set the text aligment center or left for each element)
dimens.xml (Change elements' positions in the screen and their font size)
integer.xml (Change progressbars angles and their screen off color, and define the font_ratio)
strings.xml (Change watchface name & style author)
bool.xml:
You can show or hide an element by turning the value to "true" or "false". Additionally you can enable or disable the "flashing_indicator" (the : between hours and minutes) or the "flashing_heart_rate_icon" which will show or hide the "flashing_heart.png" image every second.
Examle, turn seconds off:
Code:
//The original line with the seconds is:
<bool name="seconds">false</bool>
//And seconds are shown by turning the false to true
<bool name="seconds">true</bool>
Additionally with enabling or disabling element, in this file you would set text alignment for each element. Currently, only left and center alignmet types are supported.
Examle, detting steps' alignment:
Code:
//To align the text left:
<bool name="steps_left_align">true</bool>
//To align the text in the center:
<bool name="steps_left_align">false</bool>
colors.xml:
- Under construction
dimens.xml:
- Under construction
integer.xml:
- Under construction
strings.xml:
- Under construction
Fonts:All the used fonts are located in "app\src\main\assets\fonts" folder. Currently you are unable to use more than one font without changing the java code. To change the font, just replace the "font.ttf" file with your font (keep the same name, both .OTR and .TTF files will work).
Causion: If you change the font, you will have to change the "font_ratio" parameter inside the "app\src\main\res\values\integer.xml" file. This parameter shows the position of font's vertical center (from the top in percent of its height). We need this value in order to calculate the same positions for both screen on and off modes (don't ask why ).
Sooo... we need "y" in terms of height%. To calculate it you can just see if the texts moves between screen on/off. Raise or decrease "font_ratio" until you find the perfect spot
If you want to know more about this...
When screen is on, vertical positions are based on the vertical center of the font. On the other hand, when screen is off, texts are like images thus the positions are based on the top left corner of the font. However, i have found a way to calculate horizontal and vertical centers. For more take a look at each widget's slpt code...
For developers
To add more fonts in your code, edit the "app\src\main\java\com\dinodevs\greatfitwatchface\resource\ResourceManager.java" file. Then you have to change these code for every element you whant to change to a second font:
Code:
//Screen on: in the init function, Screen off: in the buildSlptViewComponent function
ResourceManager.getTypeFace(service.getResources(), ResourceManager.Font.FONT_FILE)
Images:When screen is on:
All "screen on" images are gathered in the "res" folder (this is the default images directory on android projects). These images can be in any rgb color.
When screen is off (slpt mode):
On the other hand, all "screen off" images are gathered in the "assets" folder. These images must have a specific color pallete consist of 8 colors:
#ffffff
#ffff00
#ff00ff
#ff0000
#00ffff
#00ff00
#0000ff
#000000
Here is the pallete i use in gimp: View attachment amazfit_palette.zip (css exported pallete, unzip it and import it).
If you don't convert the screen off images in this pallete, at best the image would be converted automatically or they will not show up at all.
I will explain all the images included in this project in the next update. To be continued...
Awesome job, man! Very well documented too, thanks a lot!

What changes did u make in the .jar lib?
Hi,
As I am new to this. Please help me to find out the changes that u made in the .jar file to make it work. I also want to know that how u narrowed down these changes in the .jar file.
Thansk,
Vivek
Nice tutorial(for your first one) .
How do I change the hour digit size;
Is it easy to add more widgets?
In the OP photo i can see at least 3 more widgets

Smali editing is not so easy. If you use an older jar file you don't need to make any changes in it.

This tutorial is deprecated with the newer sources. Most parameters are now gathered in one file: GreatFit\app\src\main\res\values\arrays.xml
Read that file, it is quite easy to change things now

Smali editing is not so easy. If you use an older jar file you don't need to make any changes in it.

Unfortunately you have to uninstall with ADB. For some reason various programs do not completely install the apps.

Unfortunately no. The only thing you can do is setup a layout with the parameters but I have never done it.
Just install it from ADB directly, the watchface will just refresh,l. Next time, just press the up arrow in console and Enter...

In arrays where the widgets are is written "add a widget here and in widget list". Widget list its before the widgets.? If so, what are the numbers written in every widget 2,12 and so on?

Just copy the previous widget (ex. widget 5) and paste it directly under it. Then add one more element in the "widgets" array (the numbers you are saying). Those numbers are the order number of the default widget you place there (calories, steps etc). You can see them in the "supported widgets" array.
So, lets say you want to add one more widget, which by default floor is selected. You copy the 5th widget, you paste it under 5th, rename it to 6th ("widget6"), change the positions etc. Then you have to add it in the widgets array, make a new item under "<item>22</item>" and input floors' order number which is 6.
Let me know if you got it

0 is the first widget type (I think it is steps or calories, because array index starts from 0), 25 is the none if I remember correctly.
