* WARNING: This ROM uses a modified internal memory layout.
Our /system partition is originally 400MB but this space is not enough for a fluid experience and a full installation with proper google apps.
The internal storage has been repartitioned to give the whole space to /system & /cache. You will need a second primary partition on your SD card to be used as the /data partition.
If you want to use this ROM you will always have to use the included kernel or use a kernel that includes the layout changes. Bug reports with non-standard kernels will be ignored.
You will have to wipe the device and make a clean install.
You cannot restore nandroid backups from previous android versions or restore backups from this ROM to other ROMs that don't use the new partition layout since you risk corrupting the data.
I suggest to use Titanium Backup, Helium or any other similar app to backup your data if you really need to.
Requirements:
* Have the stock ICS 4.1.B.0.587 full ftf flashed (doesn't matter if you have flashed it in the past or if you flash it before installing PAC-5.0, it will work both ways)
* LT15i (Arc) users need to flash LT18i (Arc S) ftf
* MT15i (Neo) users need to flash MT11i (Neo V) ftf
* Minimum 2GB second primary ext4 partition for /data on class 10 SD card. *

Good job man. One after another new devs comes for our old devices. I want to thank you but don't want to spam the thread, just hit the thanks button okay.

@Druboo666
Hello friend and thanks PAC-MAN for still developing neo V.
I had read ur commands for first installation. U say that " Format /system using System-Formating-Tool_signed.zip , then /data and then /cache (Important step!) " I could not downlad that zip file.
I installed a lollipop rom already on my neo V. Do I have flash that zip?

The system formatting tool is to ensure the /system partition gets wiped as the new Cyanogen Recovery doesn't have the option to wipe /system. You can wipe /system in the PAC-4.4 recovery before flashing the new kernel, then you will not need the formatting tool
2GB as second primary partition is recommended, if you do not have that size available, use whatever you can. You will however not be able to run Lollipop on your device without an SD card. Also take note that this space is needed for installation of apps, so the more space you can assign, the better.

Although I cannot guarantee this, if you are already on an Android 5.0 ROM it should work as follows:
Flash PAC kernel
Reboot recovery
Factory reset
Flash PAC rom
flash gapps
Reboot

Wow, you guys are so awesome with your replies! You've made me feel guilty! I know what it's like to wanna flash ur favorite ROM!

Here is a (pretty) alpha version I've got for ya just so you can have a taste! If u need camera, I PROMISE YOU, its BrokeN
But if you're a crack flasher like me, enjoy
When relying on the Updater script to erase system, it seems to end up with an update binary error. So to anyone having an issue with flashing the rom, make sure you MANUALLY wipe data, cache, dalvik cache AND the system partition. In doing this you will NEED to flash GApps so make sure you have your favorite copy available. I thought for some reason the flashing issue was related to the Bump bit but it is NOT. FULL FULL FULL Wipe, then flash.

Wow, thanks ! Gonna flash this real quick before bed to check it out. I'm sure it's nice.....

Maybe the boot.img hasn't been pre-bumped? If that's the case you'll need to use the tethered method to boot you're phone probably.

Would bumping the boot.img then just replacing the one in the .zip be sufficient, or would I have to rezip the entire thing via a ROM kitchen or something?

Ocarinaz64 is taking over the ROM builds for PAC. Since jewel is no longer my primary, it's in the best interest of Evo users that the ROMs are compiled by someoen who can test all of the features (especially the important ones, like phone calls!)

Nice. My all time favorite rom from the OG Evo.
Been waiting for this. Installing now.
---------- Post added 9th March 2015 at 12:16 AM ---------- Previous post was 8th March 2015 at 11:18 PM ----------
I get stuck in boot loop. Did factory reset and installed rom only. Did system reboot and it got stuck in boot loop. Boot into recovery, wiped dalvik and reinstalled rom with gapps. Still stuck in boot loop.
Which file bootloooped? There are 2. The beta bootloooped on me just now. Going to try dl'ing the other file and see how I do.
the other one isn't bootlooped
Both files bootlooped for me.
Checked md5. Full wipe, flashed rom and gapps together. Reboot. Bootloop.
Any suggestions on what you may have done differently?
Try flashing one of the kernel packages after flashing the ROM. Haven't got a chance to test yet, but I suspect a bad kernel image in ROM zip file.

Booted with half pop. I'll run it a day or 2 and get back to you.
Dirty flashed rom, half popped kernel, and gapps last night. Been running smooth for the most part all day. Most apps work fine (including camera). Music app shows two of everything and crashes when song is selected. Recent apps tab hangs and then jumps to lock screen after 5 seconds.
When I try to flash this, I get this error:
Do I need to partition my phone? If so how? Please help...

You'll need to be on the new partition layout in order to flash the ROM.
New build posted 03252015
I'm running this now. Should be more stable than the prior builds I've posted. PAC has fixed a few things.

Where can I find the on how to update to the new partition? Thanks in advance
This ROM is the first of the available Lollipop builds that I flashed on my Evo 4G LTE and it is incredibly well built! I have an old Galaxy Nexus that I am also running on WiFi only and the Lollipop builds are nowhere near as stable as this ROM. Big thanks to the developer and keep up the great work!

Factory reset, then did Advanced System Wipe for good measure. Flashed ROM, Half Popped, and Gapps. Has been running smooth for a week. I am still having the same issue with all music apps. Any time a song is selected the music app will crash. Loving this ROM though.

torch light
Great rom, really. One issue is torch light - phone going to deepsleep/suspent 3 seconds after screen off, and disables torch. Is it really issue, or just my mistake case I'm using this rom since 5.3.8 without clean installs.

Thank you @Aamir19
I guess I have reinstall all again. Because it looks that f2fs must been flashed before installed rom.
Am I wrong?
Hi. i had LegacyXperias 5.0.2, and before i hade flashed some tft... now i flashed ROM,Camera Patch, Gapps, it is sometimes little bit slow, but working, problem is:
when i have booted second time (I know, first time after flash is it ok), i had message: updatings apps 1/2, 2/2, finishing boot.... All times when i rebooted phone it was doing with two Apps.
Today it was more than 70 or 80 apps. (semms davik cache wiped). I dont think that is SD partiton problm, but i have formated it to ext3, and no ext4. i forgot.
My partitions on ext sd: >12GB FAT(32), 4GB EXT3, 1GB SWAP
//Qestion 2: Is that swap partition auto detected as SWAP, and used to boost system?
or i need do some modifications to system boot bash files?

Fastboot working?
If yes, flash some kernel and recovery, then enter recovery.
---------- Post added at 01:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:24 PM ----------
Can someone please confirm if the current release is booting or not? The only feedback we have at the moment is that it isn't.

Do u have unlocked bootloader or locked bootloader? And what recovery did u use to flash this rom? I think we need unlocked bootloader and any fota twrp recovery to flash this rom. Will try this when I come home.
Mine was booting with no problems.

Hi, I was on Sony on rooted d6603_23.a1.a.0.690 customized bal_supersu xzdr2.8.3 using XZ dualrecovery
I have since then fastbooted a old ftf, re-rooted using giefroot v3 and ndrutils, then upgraded back to 23.1.a.0690 so now i am back to where i originally was. I tried the steps again to do a clean install for this rom via phiz tool recovery, but i got the same error that said it was not compatible with my z because it is leo.... so instead of rebooting the phone after this message, i decided to reflash a backup of the original software, and this time around i didn't lose any data.
Pac man is one of my all time favorite (coming from htc m8) roms!! i would definitely love this on my phone but i am clueless to what is going on ....
This Rom reminds me of the defeated Manny Pacquiao :'-(

This is the "Status 6" error... I don't know if it is the best solution but this is what I do:
Unzip the rom
Go to the updater-script in INF/com/google/android and delete the whole line starting from “assert(getprop(“ro.product.device”)…..“ The best is to use a script editor
Zip the rom
flasch
Be shure that you have the right rom for your device!

nope, but you can try, but before try make a backup, obviusly, if it will work you may encounter some problems such as wifi that doesn't work. Maybe if I will find kernel sources, I will try to port on a510
Thanks for reply. I just bought this phone yesterday so I am not installing twrp and root yet.
Soon or later we will be having customs roms for a5 2016 because this mobile is becoming very popular. 235 euros in Spain now.

Hello... this ROM is also compatible with the model Galaxy A5 SM-A500F "a5lte" ?!
Thanks man!
Thank you bro
I think you can try. This rom is for a500fu (i forgot to say this in the thread), but phone specs are similar. you can try, but probably you will encounter some more bugs. Ah if you want to try, make a backup before flash the ROM

Hello @DeadSquirrel01
To ROM works in others variants, you need build a "old-style" zip package (with install, META-INF, system folders, boot.img, libs and modem symlinks from A500x stock ROM) because that block based updates cannot be flashed on other variants.
Regards.

Well, it can works also without these files, but if not, you need to copy some proprietary files into /system/lib and all files located in /firmware and /firmware-modem
I will surely try on a5h soon and will give feedback
