Lg Gpad 8.3 Calendar - G Pad 8.3 Themes and Apps

I have the LG gpad 8.3 on verizon. Also the Lg G3. The calendar on the pad is preferred. I want to get it on my phone. Can anyone get me the files? Anyone have any insight on how to install?
Per the tablet the build version for the calendar is 4.2.12
Tablet info
Android 4.4.2
3.4.0 [email protected] kernel
VK81023A software version

I'll get you the files shortly, but there's many reasons why they probably won't work.
Are you rooted?

For what it's worth, here are all the calendar related files from 23A:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934548212
Sent from my VK810 4G

I am rooted. I'm researching a few ways to install. Agreed it most likely wont work. OCD over here. I have to try.

Cool, if you are rooted on the tablet too, you could've gotten the files yourself. I use Xplore File Manager. Turn on root access in settings. Then I used the find function to find every file under the system folder with calendar in the name.
Make a nandroid backup first before installing the files.
Use the file manager to copy the files (probably only the LG ones necessary) to the same locations they came from. Set the permissions for every file to the same permissions other similar files in the same folder have.
Good luck!

[Q] New Indian firmware.. V10C

A new official LG India firmware has been launched, V10C. it's on android 2.2.1 and gets 31fps on neocore. So I guess it's the same as the V10E that people are describing.
The SD card still behaves weirdly, not sure about unmounting since I've not made any calls. Overall, the system has become noticeably slower. Would it be safe to roll back to V10B using the KDZ updater?

Yes, you are right. It's hard to even root the handset.

Try the optimus prime-v2, its fast and will meet your requirements. SD card problem is rare in it and the entire firmware sits on SD card, so you get a lot of free memory.
Not dev thread.
Moving to general.
Cheers
Ok I tested it out.. this firmware is quite horrible and it did not fix anything and the phone has become really slow in every way. I'm reverting to V10B for now, no choice. Hope all goes well.
I have strange problem after upgrading my p500 to v10c. it stopped notify me for any incoming calls. even vibration is not working in the silent mode. But the called number listed as missed call. pls somebody throw some light on this issue.
How to downgrade from v10c to v10b?
Sluggish and useless
Seemed like LG rushed this update. The device becomes too slow and sluggish. Upgraded and downgraded after 2 hours. Rooting through conventional means is broken.
Not upgrading. My P500 works fine at the moment with the older Firmware.
Any idea how to remove the crap apps they have pre-installed ?

Root and remove unneeded apk(s) and their corresponding odex files from /system/app using any root supported file browser like root explorer. Before doing this you might want to clear data. To cleanup left over odex files also remove from /data/dalvik-cache. You can cleanup this entire directory, but you would have to reboot for odex files to be re-created.

hi, I bought this phone two days back. I want to ask that if I follow your guide to remove some crap applications, and then if in future I do a factory reset, will it create any problem?

Has anybody figured out a way to root this latest firmware?

I couldn't figure out how to install that. The optimus prime post is not very clear about the steps.. it seems to be linking to other posts which aren't too clear themselves..
I am still on V10b, so do you guys strictly suggest not to upgrade to V10c?
Almost everything is fine for me with the current version, apart from one one strange problem..
The bulk SMS received do not get grouped properly. Bulk SMS 'from name' are usually in the format XX-XXXXX, now what happens is.. if the number of characters in the 'from name' of sms after '-' are same (whatever be the name), they are grouped together in the same thread.
This happens only with bulk sms which has name in above mentioned format, all other sms are grouped properly. Also, this happens in every sms application i have tried including the default one.
Hope i was able to explain it properly. Anyone else facing the same issue?

[Q] What build number do you have in your stock Browser?

I'd be grateful if people on 10.4.2.17 or 10.4.2.18 could check and let me know if the full version numbers on their stock Browsers include the correct build number.
I am currently on 10.4.2.17 though my Browser version says 10.4.2.15 and I believe this may be responsible for my failures to update to 10.4.2.18. Just wan't to check that the build number went up for everyone's Browser with the .17 upgrade.
Many thanks.

Thanks. Thought so since all my other systems apps also say .17.
I do remember messing about with the browser after updating to .17 trying to get the damn sync with Google to work so what I think I've done is to restore the wrong version. Looks like this has been a big enough change to the system partition to stop the new update working :crying:.
So my next question is how and where do I get hold of the browser.apk from 10.4.2.17?

The odex file gets created from the apk. If you have a browser odex file then delete it and when you replace with the new browser.apk and restart it should create it.

OK, thanks. The new browser appears to be working just fine. I doubt it's the odex file since I have rebooted a few times. I will delete it though and see what happens.
Grrrr. No good - the droid's still going belly up after a minute or 2. But I am now getting a different error message. Instead of the Unknown Error I now get "The application is not compatible with the device ROM".
I've been right through /system and can't see anything else that would be out of place.
Is there anywhere in particular the update checks? I've tried factory reset and downloaded other copies of the update zip in case I got a bad one. Can you think of anything else I might try?

It is normally caused by something that has changed. Did you edit the build.prop? did you freeze any apps ? did you delete any apps ?

The only thing I can think of is if there is a separate Google Bookmarks Sync apk that came with the .17 ROM? I was using an older version of this. If so can you pull me one and I'll try that.
Also I had been using browser2RAM before the update but I uninstalled it properly before doing the OTA update. It hadn't stopped me updating before either.

Discovered how to extract the system apps from the blob file so found the syc apk (called ChromeBookmarksSyncAdapter) and got that working. While I was there I noticed that odex files were included in the ROM so installed the browser from there along with its odex but still the update failed :crying:.
I think now all I can do is go through the system.img from the .17 update and see if I can see anything different from what I have currently on the device.

[Solved] Have any of you guys have Isis working? (Isis fix included)

I've been trying to figure this out for a while I've got it to go past the root check via xPrivacy, but when it's looking for the secure element on my sim card it fails
Has anyone else tried it?
I'm running on ViperOne 3.1 RC2
EDIT:
I've got everything working (I just haven't tried paying yet) and I'm currently running Viper 3.1 RC2. So I'm not sure if it'll work on other roms, and if you update you'll have to flash this zip again of course.
The Zip doesn't seem to work, just unpack it and push the files manually.
Prerequisites:
- Root
- Custom recovery
- Xposed Framework
- Either xPrivacy or Isis root bypass
What's included:
- libnfc.so
- libnfc_jni.so
- libnfc_ndef.so
- org.simalliance.openmobileapi.jar
- SmartCardServiceGP.apk
- Nfc.apk
- nfcee_access.xml
the nfcee xml has the isis, t-mobile, and google keys included if we ever need that.
The files were pulled from Nocturnal's 3.24.531.3 deodexed stock rom
I haven't tested this zip but I used Rishik999 Guide on how to make a flashable zip, either way make sure to BACKUP!
Not sure if you'll have to fix permissions also, as I did this manually through ADB and thought I'd make a zip to make things easier for everyone
Before running Isis make sure you have root bypassed via the Xposed module Isis Root bypass or xPrivacy
Reboot, and enjoy Isis!

Hmmm I see, I tried one of the leaked official 4.3 roms on here, but it still didn't work, but then again I did a dirty flash I might try wiping, or doing what it actually says and calling them
i used an oficial one 4.3 what error are you getting? i tried calling them they are having an issue with the new update. I just cant wait till we get 4.4 kit kat so we can finally and hopefully use google wallet because isis sucks. i get error 7006 after trying to register.
I was able to get it to work on the tmobile stock Rom. I had to install the Isis root bypass module in the expose installer so it wouldnt detect my root.
were you ever able to get it working on Viper? been trying but can't get past the sim card pop up even tho i have the new isis sim from t-mobile...

Alright guys I've got it working, I downloaded a stock 3.24.531.3 rom from Nocturnal's website and copied some things over
Not sure what exactly was what made it work.
I copied over:
libncf.so
libnfc_jni.so
libnfc_ndef.so
org.simalliance.openmobileapi.jar
SmartCardServiceGP.apk
But it didn't work until pushed nfc.apk
I've just not created an account, I'll test it out later.
I pushed these files using adb, but I don't see why Root Explorer wouldn't work or something similar.

The apks in system/app

Help in rooting LG Optimus Exceed 2 VS450PP1

I just recently purchased a LG Optimus Exceed 2 VS450PP1 Verizon prepaid and I would like to root it, but I'm afraid to use the wrong guide to do so.
I have already done this part: Turn on USB debugging: Settings and enabled the installation of unknown sources.
It seems that Towelroot used to work but no longer does. Can someone post a link to the correct procedure for my phone or the instructions to do so? I already read did a search for my phone and read several pages, but I'm still unsure which procedure will work for my phone.
This is my phone info:
LG Optimus Exceed 2 VS450PP1
Build Number KOT49I,VS450PP1
Software version VS450PP1
Kenel version 3.4.0+
Solved. I used towelroot and Root Checker to my phone, and it is now rooted.
Could you drop the link you got towelroot from, i searched and there were a lot of sites that had it, and i would like to make sure it works

I sure will. Here is the site for towel root. Type this address on your phones browser, and then click on the upside down letter "Y". https://towelroot.com/
And here is a site that shows you what to do http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2795300
I did mine recently for a LG Optimus Exceed 2 VS450PP1, and it's been working great so far.
You may also want to download a file called VS450PP1_04.kdz here. I think this is a backup of the phone software, should it be necessary in the future. This file is not necessary to root your phone, so you save it on some other media than your phones memory. http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/lg-vs450pp-exceed-2-help-t2989811
Good luck.

You're welcome.
I believe the file called VS450PP1_04.kdz is a ROM image for the phone with all the original stuff that came with it. I have not use this image for anything myself, but I believe it can be used to restore the phone back to factory settings as a last resort should things go wrong. I would recommend that after rooting successfully, you install the app called Titanium Backup Pro and let it back up everything to an external usb memory card on the phone. This is probably the better and safer approach to restore something that you had removed and would like back.
You can also go to the google play store and download the latest google apps that you have deleted if so desired.
I should mention that I'm not an expert at this stuff, just a beginner, so my knowledge is limited to what I did to my phone . I only rooted my phone to be able to install apps like Titanium Backup Pro.
I hope this answered your question.

Deleted settings app, Need help restorng and finding one to restore!

i have a LINSAY F-7XHD tablet on 4.4.2 and while removing malware that came preinstalled from it i deleted the settings app with titanium backup. i did not back it up sadly because it was not the app the app i was intending to uninstall ):. there are no roms or recoveries for this device, and can't find a solution, would i be able to get the settings apk from a different 4.4.2 rom or is there any solution anyone can find or have had this happen and know of? i'm rooted but that's kind of already said? without settings the tablet is next to useless for real so id be forever grateful if someone could help me get settings back.

sorry for being a noob!!!

You're a bit unlucky, i found a firmware for the LINSAY F-10XHD, but not for the LINSAY F-7XHD, don't know what can be done, but i will give you two options:
1-Contact the company and ask them to send you a stock rom link
2-search google for anyone who have the phone and try to contact him directly and ask him to send you the settings.apk, it can be simply backed up without having root using file explorer like ES file explorer.
Sorry for lack of suggestions, but you said it yourself, it's an offbrand no name tablet.

i contacted them already and they insist i send the tablet back to them and pay more than the tablet is worth.
i found the firmware for the 10 too is there anyway i can extract the settings apk from the system image? i tried to already using something called ext4 unpacker but was unable to even open the img with it. i was thinking it may work or is at least worth a shot since its the 7 inches 10 inch counterpart and runs the same version. idk maybe the firmware i found was corrupt or the program is trash since its old. but anyways do u know how to unpack the system image so i can pull the apk? ... or have any other ideas lmao sry, thank you
i cant even find one someone i could ask tbh... so is there no way a settings app from like a different phones rom will work? ): appreciate your help

There is a guide here to unpack ext4 system image, but I'm not sure if the settings.apk from the 10 would work for you, you have to be aware that injecting a wrong incompatible apk in the system may cause a bootloap, which is worst than your current case, because you only recover from this by flashing stock rom which we didn't find, i will look around to see if someone have the tablet and we can contact him directly.
