[D5803] [23.4.A.546] Lollipop 5.1.1 USA Variant Pre-Rooted with DualRecovery - Xperia Z3 Compact Android Development

As the title says this is a flashable zip of the newest 5.1.1 USA firmware for LOCKED BOOTLOADER D5803. Prerooted with SuperSU 2.49 and NUT 2.8.21 dualrecovery.
I have not had the chance to test because i switched phones but it should work just as well as the others. Please make a nandroid before continuing.
As always best to wipe data between Roms but I'm not your father
I am not responsible for any hard or soft bricks. Please know what you are doing before flashing!
Must Thank @Nut and @zxz0O0 for all their hard work none of this would be possible!

Flashed this over my .77 USA firmware without a wipe and it is working great but if you dont want to take a chance then please wipe.

Can you please specify if this is for D5803 or D5833 please? I'm not sure which is the USA variant..
Thanks,
Carlos

Sorry USA is D5803 only

What's the difference between the Baltic version and the USA version?

The USA version is made for the USA? I know there is not much difference between firmware but I have noticed I dont get data on some firmware's. On the USA firmware I have never had any problems at all
Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk

Just to be clear, the recovery still doesn't work even though it's part of the package?

Thanks Jerflash, been waiting for a prerooted USA LP version to appear.

- Few apps are different. Wireless Emergency being one of the few that I can think of off the top of my head (I removed most of the bloat that I don't use already).
- It will connect to GSM providers instantly. Instead of having to install APN's through internet settings download or having to manually input them.
- LTE instead of 4G signal
- Contacts has In Case of Emergency (ICE) option, as well as a Me contact
Those are the few that I've noticed when I switched from Nordic to USA. it might be the same for Baltic to USA

Recovery probably works for folks with unlocked bootloaders.

Is there any real difference between these two connection types? I've flashed a generic global version and the indicator icon in the status bar says 4G. Before doing this, the stock Kitkat for USA indicated "LTE". I haven't noticed significant differences in speed but what I want to know is if I'm missing something or if there are real differences that I must know.

They're the same. I believe AT&T were the ones who originally screwed up the system in the US at first. Branding hspa+ as 4g. Then branding 4g as LTE.

Oh I see, thanks for making it clear.

Jerflash can you create a Deodexed version also? That seems to fix any issue with boot loops and having to wipe cache/dalvik in recovery to get it to boot after Xposed is installed.

Nope, It's the same thing!

Is it possible to update this ROM with the new recovery that works for the z3c with Lollipop?

Well the recovery that is currently bundled does work on lollipop you just need to run the byeselinux but that is now available. Will post a link to it in a bit in the OP

Thanks Jerflash. I flashed your zip(no wipe over rooted 4.4.4) then then ran the modified installer of NUT Lockdualrecovery with Fix of zxz0O0 that Ciccio created in the DualRecovery thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59907700&postcount=3935 then booted to recovery and made a backup in TWRP. Downloaded the Lollipop Xposed ARM.zip and flashed in recovery along with installing the Lollipop Xposed apk right before this. From reading posts I knew I would probably bootloop but tried booting from TWRP without wiping anyway, sure enough bootlooped. Got back into recovery and wiped Cache and rebooted, boot looped again. Went back into TWRP wiped Dalvik and Cache and boots up fine. Installed Gravity Box(lollipop) and activated that module and MinMinGuard in Xposed app, booted to recovery and wiped Dalvik & Cache again and it works fine.
From what I am reading in Serajr's Deodexed/Debloated 5.02 thread you will boot loop without those wipes every time you reboot unless you Deodex. Hope that explanation helps a bit but I think you know most of this already.
Only odd thing so far is the disappearance of the recents key when using Gravity Box, the spot it should be is blank and clicking there the recents functions fine. I saw someone else mention this with Gravity Box Lollipop and using a Sony phone also.

Ya the reason i have not use xposed on lollipop is it is just too finicky right now. i dont like running deodexed roms anymore as i feel they get bogged down. xposed should work on odexed roms so maybe in a future update it will.

what a pity I would have happily tested an eventual deodexed version of your FW, as being the US variant shouldn't have the data icon spacing problem.. but I would need deodex to use xposed :crying:

Yup, same here. It's giving me a mild case of OCD, LOL!
Hopefully Serajr implements a bunch of the non-working GB into his LP Xposed mod.

[ROM][4.4.2] - AT&T 4.18.502.7 Stock Rooted

I'd like to Start off by saying, I'm not a Developer and I have a huge respect for those that are.
A couple of weeks have passed since AT&T dropped the 4.4.2 OTA update
and no one has yet released a Rom of it.
This is a Rom I cooked for my own use to return to stock 4.4.2, I have flashed it 3 times with both full wipe and dirty flash and it works fine for me.
Feel free to give it a try for yourself.
The Rom includes the /system folder right after the OTAPkg.zip was installed and most all the AT&T apps needed updated on first boot. I added my black boot screens and SuperSU.v1.93. Other than that it's Stock including the Kernel.
Theirs no support for this rom it's just the Stock rom nothing more nothing less ...Enjoy

I was waiting for something like this, Thanks
Dirty flashed over 4.3.2 and it worked like a charm, I believe that was the most painless Android update I've done yet. Thanks for posting!
can someone deodex this rom?
Exactly what I've been waiting for, thanks a lot.
Thanks only problem I found is play store won't let me install purchased apps no biggie though titanium backup cured that.

When I go into the weather app the animations appear to be broken, unless HTC removed them....also has anyone noticed a slightly different look to the pattern lock/animations? It was different the first couple of boots but now it seems to have gone back to how it looked in 4.3...

[ROM] Sprint Note Edge SM-915P NK1 Rooted Stock Deodexed Knox-disabled

Okay... this continues the tradition of my previous, the Knox-disabled, rooted, deodexed Sprint NJL stock ROM.
This thread will either 1) give you a deodexed NK1 if you're already on NK1, or 2) upgrade you from NJL to NK1 (baseband and boot) and provide you with a deodexed NK1 ROM.
Terms, Conditions, and Background
Please consider the following carefully before proceeding with anything in this post:
--I still have no idea what I'm doing
--I have never done any dev work other than the NJL ROM, and I really don't consider that "dev"
--I only did this because no one else has done it
--Installing/flashing anything herein may brick or otherwise destroy/render your device useless
--By proceeding, you hold me completely harmless and it's all on you!
If you're currently on NJL, start on step 1. If you're already on NK1, go to step 2
Preparation: Do at least one full nandroid (including everything but cache) onto your microSD. TWRP or CWM is okay.
Step 1:
1.1 Download the factory NK1 ROM (link below) and Odin the package. This is the full factory NK1, which means it contains the factory recovery, modem, system, bootloader etc. It will essentially reset your device to factory (without wiping the /data partition, so all your installed app and data will still be there). You will lose root. When you complete this step, your modem and bootloader will also be on NK1.
This is a zipped file. You need to unzip to get the tar file for Odin. The extension will be .tar.md5.
Download Link
1.2 Follow these instructions here to regain root
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/general/easy-steps-stock-odin-n915tuvu1anjl-sm-t2943993
Step 2:
2.1 Download and flash the deodexed NK1/Knox disabled zip, be sure to verify the MD5
Download Link
MD5 Link
2.2 Clear dalvik and cache
2.3 IF you came from Step 1, I recommend the following:
--Wipe the data partition
--Restore the data partition from the backup you made during the preparation phase
Why? In case things got tweaked somewhere along the way. This way, you have a fresh boot using the known good data backup with your new deodexed NK1 /system
-------
This ROM DOES NOT wipe the data partition.
This ROM comes with the international Note Edge boot graphics (credit to TEKHD)
This ROM already has the SD card write fix flashed to it (credit to TEKHD)
I made no other modifications
Credit to jovy23 -- I used his META-INF from Note 4.
-------
If you're using Xposed, S-Health and Private Mode will not work. This is not a problem specific to this ROM, but a compatibility issue between Samsung's private storage and Xposed.
Workaround:
Either use Wanam to disable Secure Storage or XSecureStorage (http://repo.xposed.info/module/ma.wanam.xshealth) and S-Health should work.....
-------
Afterthoughts
--Please hit/say "Thanks" if you deem appropriate
--Please be nice. I don't know what I'm doing. I'm only sharing in case someone else want the same I do.
--If you can contribute and help improve this, I'm all ears.
--Please do not mirror, repost, or otherwise share without my permission.
--In case you're wondering, I wanted deodexed because it gives way to theming/customization. I also thought I read that Xposed requires deodexed in some cases.
--Did I miss anything?
Will download and give this a run once I get my recovery performing properly.
Just wanted to make sure before performing: This will trip Knox. Sorry for being a noob.

Just flash as any zip, and wipe cache and dalvik only (the flash will do that also). No need to wipe data. I've dirty flashed many times with no issues. Cheers.

[ROM] [TW] SM-G900T_PG2 Rooted Deodexed

G900TUVS1GPG2
Rooted Deodexed BusyBox Init.d
Hi all, just wanted to share a little project i've been working on. Its the latest release for the T-mobile S5 G900T, rooted busybox deodexed and init.d support. I'm am totally new to the process of kitchens and making roms. This is my first release on this project and will release debloated and other combinations as i have time. Please enjoy and report any issues. I will try my best to help in any way.
Now for the rom and instructions.
Typical disclaimer as always, I am not responsible for any damaged caused by flashing custom software period. If you have gotten this far then you completely understand the risks involved with "flashing" custom software (ROMs). Flashing this ROM will void your warranty and trip knox.
Again this is for the T-mobile S5 G900T. Stock for the most part. Its rooted busybox deodexed and init.d support. I have replaced the stock kernel with The Imperius Curse Kernel 6-20 by @ShinySide. Edited homescreen pages. There is only one Homescreen page by default. If you need screens and widgets just add them. Removed NFC icon and removed sfinder and quick connect from pulldown menu. International Boot animation and sound. All apps in system/app & system/priv-app updated as of 7/23/2016.
You need custom recovery installed to proceed. I use TWRP, have not tested on CWM.
You need to be on a 6.0.1 bootloader! I tested on the PE1 bootloader and had no issues but i recommend a full update to PG2.
EDIT Odin flashable PG2 bootloader and Modem tar download link below
If you do not have a custom recovery installed then please go herehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s5/general/root-how-to-root-sm-g900t-firmware-t3358190 then continue below.
Download ROM and move to root storage of phone. ExtSDcard or internal sd
Reboot to TWRP and tap wipe then advanced wipe and check boxes 'Dalvik/ ART cache' 'System' 'Data' and 'Cache' then swipe to wipe. Do this 3 times just to be safe. If you moved the rom to phone storage DO NOT WIPE Internal storage as you will delete the rom you just downloaded.
Go back to the main menu in TWRP and tap install, choose rom and swipe to install.
After install is complete reboot and wait around 15 minutes for boot to complete.

I have strange problem with this ROM, hope anyone can help. After installation, I can't use adb any more. "adb devices" shows the devices is unauthorized, and under "Developer options", there is no button for "Revoke USB debugging authorizations". There is also no USB key fingerprint confirmation window.
Is it just me or the ROM?

I've been looking into how to make a bootloader/modem flashable thru Odin but can't find any reliable up to date guides. If anyone knows where I might look to start I'm very sure I could make it, just need guidelines on how to begin.

Everything except system.img, cache.img, boot.img and recovery.img. So full upgrade beside those 4 items.

Leave some posts so I know it works OK, I'm new to this
It would be good if someone could post if this rom was ok, as have a T825 rom built with the same method that I cannot test, due to having a T820 myself. So speak up please
Thank you for this. Now I have to ask a couple of newbie questions. I've been exclusively in the Sony Xperia and Nexus worlds before, this being my first Samsung. In trying to figure out if the processes I've become familiar with are applicable to this device, using your ROM.
For instance, my Sony's were pretty easy after the initial root. Kind souls in the community took new releases and created a pre-rooted firmware with TWRP and SuperSU built-in. I could then just dirty flash the ROM from TWRP, sometimes wiping cache/dalvic, and like magic my device is upgraded with no loss of data.
Is this how it works with this AQF5 ROM? I'm starting with a rooted (@ashyx method) T820 with AQBB. Do I just download the rooted ROM to SD card, boot to TWRP, dirty flash and go?
Thanks again!
Hi,
Dirty flash should work, sometimes I try that first and if I get any strange behaviour, do a wipe and re flash then load the rest back with titanium backup. Make sure you have all your backups organised first before starting.
Let me know how it works out. The risk with the first option is something residual being left that may result in force closes or just defeating the purpose.
Just beware if for some reason it doesn't root DM verity will occur and you will be forced to format internal data so back that up to your external card too, before, just in case, shouldn't happen though. I have no idea how many others have used this yet as there have been no replies to say all ok

Not sure I can use this ROM in Germany, what kind of modifications are made? Would love to see some development
As long as you have the same model T-820 you can, some local variants have a local customisation but it's likely to be minor with this model. From memory when I set it up on mine all common languages were available, if that's your concern, make sure you have a twrp backup and you can always roll back
The only mods were as listed above, seems slightly quicker, perhaps the zip aligning, but it will allow more mods as they come along

I have always wondered about that. Flashing a base from another country. Like I live in the US so I always have flashed USA versions. You are
saying that I CAN flash this Korean version on my T-820 phone and have all working ok with English ?
Thank you

For the record, I don't live in the us but bought mine from best buys whilst there, it was rooted within a couple of hours from memory,..... can't help myself ?.
I Flashed a firmware from another country after that,, just because it was a later series, can't remember which.
I use the Tweaked one as my daily driver, people seem to be finding that good. I have found the latest firmware now seems to carry out a full wipe, and I haven't managed to flash a rom over it yet, so reverted back to the Tweaked version I have.
It may require an update to TWRP
If you have any problems restore your backup, if you want to persist flash the firmware that its based on first,AQF5, then flash the ROM over it, with our without wipe.

Thanks,
This rom is not being developed any more, but the tweaked version in this forum, is based off the stock firmware which came after this,it runs stable, has a few enhancements and being a later base it's got a number of Samsung security updates too.
Would this thread be applicable to a Wi-Fi only S3 model "SM-T820NZKAXAR" ?

Thanks dudeawesome. I'll be moving this to the front of my flashing queue. I just dirty flashed 10r and Magisk from 10j a couple of days ago and was planning on flashing mk2000, KCAL, Zachary's mods, and Magisk iYTBP this evening.
Hello. Thanks for offering this, dudeawsome. Any chance of a debloated version?

Would there be any issues running an older mk2000 kernel with 10s? I feel like I should wait on either this or mk2000 for now.
Currently on alpha ROM with Xposed. I know this doesn't have weta mods so my question is if dirty flash is OK? Also wanted to request if you have time for a deodexed version?️. Thanks for this easy update ?️?️

Well, thanks OP for bringing updates to rooted users we need it bad

LG's great at following HTC's footsteps from five years ago in throwing a bunch of crap at the wall and seeing what sticks, only to abandon most of their power-user-friendly ideas in favor of becoming a generic also-ran that can't keep up with the Chinese, never mind Samsung. They've done one dumb thing after another starting with the G4 and they managed to get lucky once with the V20.
Even then, they still screwed up with the V20 by not selling it in Europe or marketing aggressively everywhere else when the irons (and the batteries) were hot. How the hell do you botch a product offering when your biggest competitor served lithium-ion flambé for that flagship's generation? LG Mobile is a three-ring circus.
Does this update the firmware as well (modem, bootloader, etc)?
