[Radio][Modem][5.X.X] Updated Modem and radio files from oxygen os - ONE Android Development

I thought I might share the updated radio, modem and environment files from oxygen os. So I made this flashable zip. I have tested it on my device and working with cm12 nightly right now. So hope it will work on yours too.
Link: Download Whole Firmware
Only modem
Mirror:
Full firmware
Only Modem
tested os with this firmware: CM12 nightly, Blisspop, CM12.1, Oxygen OS, Temasek rom, euphoria, Tugapower V5
Note: There is some changes I noticed. there is new file called reserve4.img which is being flashed in "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/reserve4". And also the previous sdi.mbn file from "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/dbi" is missing. Now I checked the updater script in oxygen os and noticed that its not removing the old sdi.mbn. Its just installing the reserve4.img as an addon. So I kept both the files in the flashable zip and it seems to work good. No issue so far.
Caution: DO NOT USE IT WITH CM11/CM11s/or ANY KITKAT ROM!
It will brick your device. Only flash on lolipop based roms. After you flash this, if you want to go back to cm11/cm11s, flash the latest cm12 nightly first and then install the cm11s files.

Are you saying that cm12 boots fine with this firmware? Sorry I don't understand well your post.

yes! using cm12 nightly 02/04 release with this firmware right now

But then if you want to go back to the old modem Cyano ... How should we do ??? But by flashing this new modem, you have to flash even the Fix for Proximity Sensor?

Official cm nightly contains it's own firmware. If you flash cm nightly it will rewrite the oxygenos firmware.

Confirmed working on CM12.1 by smoki3

You also apparent to you?

thanks will try yours. I made myself OxygenOS modem with latest CM12-04042015 build
https://www.sendspace.com/file/p92byr
I remember having issues to install CM12.1 after trying OxygenOS ,I had to flash CM12 to overwrite OxygenOS firmware . So I hope there will be no issues installing next CM12.1 build

Any improvement with reception?

For me, I'd say that the signal strength is more stable than it is stronger... but I do feel it's a tad bit stronger. Could be placebo.

am i on oxygen's modem or cm12's? thankss!!

Based on this, Oxygen.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=59892906

Flashed it and all working great so far. Anyone else noticed that the capacitive buttons light brighter? It's definitely noticeable in a dark room.

works fine here on cm12.1 04042015 unofficial!
for get the signal are necessary only 5 second! fastest than cm12 modem!

might be able to get away with changing the tz check script in the cm update zip if you've flashed this.
if youre using a custom build then might get your dev to change the tz version check to at least 1.09 rather than specific as the new is 1.39

Thank for sharing this modem.
I'm not sure if it's a placebo effect or the OxygenOS modem really works better.
Anyway it feels better and thanks for that.

Signal is def more stable!!

I just flashed it over the last nighlty blisspop http://downloads.blissroms.com/Blis...lissPop-v2.3-bacon-OFFICIAL-20150403-0935.zip - and it's working like a charm ...
Yeah the signal is more stable and faster to lock LTE here, and also 3G ... i can notice when i loose wifi and it changes to mobile data plan ... let's see if keeps like this.
Btw, everytime i flash new blisspop i should flash this modem / radio again !? right !?

flashed it over katinatez's Temasek rom.. so far no issues...

Can't make calls with AOSP ROMs

Hello everyone,
It has been more than one year that I've been using Samsung-based custom ROMs on my S3, but now when I want to use an AOSP ROM, I can't make calls with them!
I've tried Cyanogenmod 10.2 (latest weekly) and SlimBean 4.3 (latest stable) and when I try calling someone, the call ends immediately. If I try opening the phone app -> settings -> Additional settings, I get a "Call settings error: Network or SIM card error". This does not happen when I use the stock ROM or a Samsung-based ROM (like Wanamlite or Omega, which I've used the most).
What should I do? I'd appreciate any help!

Seemed like a good idea - I tried flashing 3 different versions (via Odin) and none of them made the calls work
Maybe I'm just using the wrong ones?
Can anyone link me the latest modems available for the international S3 that works with the 4.3.x android versions and the new EFS partition formats? I'd appreciate it so much, as I can't find anything past 4.1.2 versions :good:

That's EXACTLY the problem! Those modems from 4.0.4 or 4.1.2 samsung-based ROMs won't work on the 4.3.x builds from CM or SlimBean and I can't find any that works

I did - I tried three versions (old, new and random one) and none worked
Also, I've checked this modem+RIL thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2076857
And it says "Official CM10.1 uses open source RILs so these Samsung RILs won't be compatible". Well, I guess I'll try flashing CM 10.1 instead of 10.2 to see if it works, but the point is... It seems that if I go from a samsung-based ROM to an AOSP one it will fail unless I find a working modem or an AOSP ROM that includes the damn modem

To install the stock ROM I do a full wipe and flash it via Odin;
To install the Clockworkmod Recovery I flash it via Odin;
To install any custom ROM, be it sammy-based or AOSP, I do a full wipe and install it via CM recovery;
To install the modems I flash them via Odin
What could be wrong?
Also, I really appreciate the help!

[Q] cyanogenmod installer?

hi there I've been installing a custom rom in a recovery mode before so i was surprised now with the new method i think of CM 11 nightlies because every time i try to download the zip file on their site it redirects me to download their installer which is new to me and i dont know how to use it? how can i install the Gapps with that installer?

Installer automatically installs the correct gapps file. Nightlies can only be flashed via recovery, not via the installer. Make sure you are downloading the zips from downloads.cyanogenmod.org (or something like that).

Yes. Battery drain is quite common in the s2 with kitkat roms. This is due to the lack of drivers for our device. Reverting back to stock will make battey last as long as the original. You could experiment different roms too. Right now, i'm using slimsaber rom by fusionjack, so far battery is good. (Using it with combination of custom kernel).

I think you're right that s2 is not compatible for cyanogen rom because I've been using this rom before but I'll remove it because of battery issues ill just try it again maybe the updates fix that issues but i think it's not but i like the feature and the look of their update but still the battery make sense to me anyway maybe I'll try other roms or back to stock

[BASEBAND] Collection of Basebands for GT-I8730/T Models

Hello everyone. I came up with the idea of making a colletion of basebands for I8730/T Models. I already have some installers scripted, with the basebands we most use. These zip files are flashable using a custom recovery You can expect some Odin flashable archives too sometime, as they are easier to make
I recommend using TWRP that you can find here (Now it is officially supported -> try this one)
Many thanks to @kotzir for this amazing version, I do not take credit of making TWRP, all goes to @kotzir
I8730:
I8730XWAMK1 (Our CM project is based on this one)
I8730XWANE1 (The last one ever made, also works with CM Project)
I8730XWAMC2
I8730XWAMD1
I8730XWAMI1
I8730XXAMB8
I8730XWAMB7
I8730T:
I8730TDUAMD2 (The only made for this phone, for Vodafone Australia)
Odin Flashable (with Bootloader updates) - These include bootloader pieces, and in my tests they didn't increase binary count
I8730XWAMK1 (Our CM project is based on this one)
I8730XWANE1 (The last one ever made, also works with CM Project)
These are flashed in PDA (or AP) button of Odin, not Bootloader button. If you do this in bootloader button, you will brick your phone
Custom Odin version for our phone -> here

Hey, I'm using CM 11 on my GT-I8730, the messages and phone calls are allright but I'm having problems with my GPS. Do you think that installing a baseband would be useful? If yes do I need to wipe my data and everything before installing it or I can install it without wiping anything? And which baseband would be the best?
Thanks a lot for the good work

Our roms are made for I8730XWAMK1, I know some brazilian users who flashed I8730XWAMK1 and can get it to run there. I know that most European countries share similar basebands. Baseband is just a "firmware" for the cell phone radio (not FM radio, but cellular data radio). Flash it, you can flash it before the rom, between rom and gapps, or after. It doesnt really matter, since it is a different part of phone But before flashing, please tell me your current baseband, so I can make an installer for it, in case something goes wrong
Um abraço

The GPS has nothing to do with Basebands. This is part of integration in the ROM, if you are using Ressurection Remix like me, GPS never worked. In CM13 builds, GPS worked before 08/07/2016, I believe
Bootloaders
Released I8730XWAMK1 and I8730XWANE1 odin tarballs. These include bootloader files and they don't increase flash counts You can update your bootloader, but this will also update your baseband, so be careful
I understand the I8730XWAMK1 is recommended to get rid of the "Fast sound" issue, but is it not specific to some region(s)?
I'm in the Netherlands (Western Europe), does that matter?

Pardon for very late reply, yes they do fix the problem. I8730XWANE1 or I8730XWAMK1 should work fine.
Hey guys!
I am a happy user of CM13 on our phone, everything is working fine, thanks for all the great efforts!
However, when I try to switch to the new LineageOS system, the voice during calls will get az echo effect and also the mobile data connection is not working. I've flashed several baseband images (including I8730XWAMK1 and I8730XWANE1), even unrelated ones, but no success. Now I'm on CM13 with I8730XWAMK1, and it is perfect. I am from Hungary on the carrier named Telenor.
I would be very happy to use the latest LineageOS on my phone, but this annoying thing prevents me from it.
Do you have any clue about this?
Cheers!

i9100 - Damaged USB port. Can i still root/TWRP?

Just got given an i9100 today with a faulty USB port. A new one is coming in the mail, but ebay is slow.
It charges fine so it can be used, just no data connection over USB (connects and disconnects, cleaning the port did not help)
Currently on 4.1.2, i9100XXLS9
I can get files to it via SD card, is there any methods to root it or get TWRP on it that can be done before i fix the USB port?

You could use any kernel in .tar format to load a custom recovery. Philz or siyah kernel are normally used to root the s2, but I think any will work.
Alternatively you could download philz kernel in .zip format. You just need to find the correct kernel for your firmware HERE.
This guide is one of many for basic info on rooting etc
i figured it out, got philz on there for now.
Thanks for the idea of mobile ODIN, i tried flashify. TWRP manager, Rash, and terminal commands and none of them worked... mobile ODIN did however.
Now i get to read up on the custom roms available for the S2

Marshmallow is quite stable now on the S2, so is Lollipop. Any of the recent MM roms are pretty good. I've been running AICP, Oct M, and AOKP recently(MM) and no real major bugs. On lollipop, Oct OS is good and Mokee is still releasing new builds. There are others that are good as well; too many to list...
On kitkat I love Slimsaber by fusionjack(and GreekDragon has released newer builds). Kitkat is a bit more battery friendly than LP or MM.

Well good news on that front. @Lanchon has done some very nice work for the S2 community and come up with a solution to the bundled recovery/kernel. Read up on "isorec" HERE. Basically on the newer MM roms and some later LP roms, the kernel supports this isolated recovery. Just flash the isorec recovery and you have a seperated recovery and kernel

My first recommendation is if you need a 6.0.1 rom, then wait until your usb port is fixed.
If you don't want to wait for that, then take your time and read the link I gave you over on the DU thread for Lanchons re-pit tool. There is a link near the start of that thread to github where you will find downloads for the tool and a more detailed guide. In the xda thread(the one I linked), there are posts from users that will make clear how to use the tool. Basically you need to rename the file to re-partition how you want your layout
If you are not too worried about android version, then maybe try LP or KK. You don't need to re-partition for these roms as long as you use a pico/minimal gapps package and you will get better battery performance.

What i've ran into as a hurdle, is the following:
The latest TWRP doesnt work with that tool, there are no older links on the TWRP website.
The Isolated recovery is now merged with TWRP, so there are no older links there either.
If i can find the recommended 2.8.7.0 i guess it would work.

Edit: That link i posted above was correct and worked to repartition.

Official lineage OS support for 7.1.2

Hey guys I didn't think it would happen but for those of you that are still running the sm-n900v we now have official support for lineage OS 7.1.2 merged into hltetmo. The only thing that's required is the hlte recovery not the hltevzw recovery. You have to make sure you're on the latest baseband and just wait till today's official build and it will be in there. Also follow the thread link below and you'll see what I'm talking about. I just tested a test build and my data is working great.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...-0-cm14-trader418-unofficial-t3459973/page427

Thanks Alexp1289! What is the latest baseband? And have you by chance tested bluetooth on this? Will it connect to a headset or car stereo?

Latest baseband is 0F1 and Bluetooth works great I haven't had any issues so far. You'd have to flash the latest Samsung firmware package with Odin if you're not on the 0F1 baseband then flash the latest hlte twrp recovery.

Then flash the hltetmo test build zip or wait for official hltetmo build today. Verizon support is being baked into hltetmo so that's what we have to flash.

Download 20170719:
https://download.lineageos.org/hltetmo
You also need to have TWRP for hlte installed:
https://dl.twrp.me/hlte/twrp-3.1.1-0-hlte.img.html
And flash that recovery image with flashify:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgollner.flashify
Don't forget to download a gapps package (arm 7.1):

You need to make sure your Verizon note 3 is on the lastest baseband which is SEPL1 if it's not you needed to flash this using Odin 3.09 here's the baseband file to flash in Odin:

Here's where you get Odin:

Follow the thread link in the OP for support and submitting bugs after flashing lineage.
This ROM is working flawlessly! I am using a different kernel to add fast charge and new CPU governors. Heavy use for the past 4 days and no problems at all!

Can you clarify the requirement for the SEPL1 baseband? Your screenshot in the OP shows OF1 as your baseband.
Thanks!

I was wrong earlier I had to update mine. OF1 works but SEPL1 is preferred since it's the lastest.

FYI: After flashing Synergy Kernel I lost root and Reflashing SuperSU did not work. I had to flash Magisk-v13.3 after flashing the kernel and it fixed the root problem.
http://www.stechguide.com/download-magisk-v13-3/
Also, note that if you install Magisk, it will have to be uninstalled before you do an update. If you don't, it will update and you will get an error. You can still uninstall Magisk and install the update again and then reinstall Magisk. If you change the kernel again.
@ golfslicer
I had the same problem after updating the kernel and also use the same solution. Was going to post about it but, you beat me to it.
Lineage also has root (SU) solution.

CIFS/SMB & NFS network share
Does anyone know how to mount a cifs/smb (or nfs) share with LineageOS?
bash script that I used with Aryamod 6.5 & 6.6 & SManager no longer works with LOS. Manually trying to mount from the LOS builtin terminal or Term. Emulator (installed from Play Store), also doesn't work.
Thanks in advance.
P.S. Also can I make this permanent by editing fstab, so that the network share is mounted on boot?
I personally don't use file sharing. But a quick search for Samba(smb) will probably give you all the help you need.
Still getting a really bad echo on this mod, same as i did on the unofficial port of CM13. Any recommendations? Thanks for any help offered.
Flashed this ROM a few days ago and had no problems with it yet. Installation was a breeze. Wiped system, data, and cache, then flashed the ROM and open gapps with twrp and it booted right up. I'm using it as a daily driver at this point because it is so stable! Love stock android! Was very pleased to hear the note 3 now has official support!
