[Q] AT&T RUU - AT&T HTC One (M9)

I'm in need of an RUU for AT&T. I have flashed a ROM and I feel like I was getting better battery life while on stock AT&T. I did make a backup before hand but it is not restoring properly. I know, I know. I should've read the twrp thread. Correct me if I'm wrong but also, can't I restore my backup and then flash a system.img?

Revert to Stock ROM?

Hi there, I have a T-Mobile G2 Touch (HTC Hero) and I want to go back to the stock T-Mobile ROM, but I've been told that if I re-flash then it'll brick my phone?
I'm running the latest version of VillainROM 10.3.2 and I found that I may need a Nandroid backup or something? If someone could possibly re-direct me to where I need to find a Nandroid recovery image for my phone, I'd be greatful!
Can you just confirm that I CAN/CAN'T re-flash my phone to Stock?
Help is appreciated! Thanks!
EDIT: I used flashrec to make a back up of the recovery image or some sort? On my SD card is "recovery-backup.img"? Does this help?
Thanks!
I am not sure how it will brick your phone and maybe someone here can advise you on this.
The recovery-backup.img is just an image of the stock bootloader that comes with your phone. If you wish to apply official OTA updates, you will need to restore to your stock bootloader using the flashrec app even after u have reverted to the stock ROM.
Hope it helps =)

[Q] Stock ROM question

Sorry all for the noob question but I just wanted to be sure before I do anything more to my phone. I did a titanium backup on my phone before I started flashing ROM's but did not do a NAND back up. I have now done a NAND back up on my current ROM(that's working well). But I'm worried that because I didn't make an original NAND I may regret it. Is the best way to go back to a stock ROM, without losing S-OFF and ROOT, by flashing a stock ROM from here on XDA? Just want to make sure I can somehow go back to stock without losing S-OFF and ROOT. I promise this will be me first and last newbie question for me. Thanks all.

if you want to go back to 100% stock, i.e. to return to a sprint store, you can use the RUU and that will flash most partitions on the phone and return it to full stock (probably an extra step to turn s-off to s-on, but maybe not).
if you wish to return the /system and the kernel to stock w/o losing root or s-off, using a nandroid of when you were on stock or yes, loading a stock ROM with a stock kernel would accomplish the same thing.
hope that makes sense. feel free to search around the forum for answers and feel free to ask questions. we're all here to help!
Yeah that makes sense. Unfortunately I don't have a nandroid of my orginial setup before root/s-off, all I have is a nandroid of my current ROM, but didn't know if the stock ROM's on the forums here were basically the same as original stock. I know I'd have to set my phone back up again but that's okay. Just want something to fall back on in case my flash habits(now basically an addiction) somehow does me wrong.
I thought you needed root to backup the nand? correct me if im wrong
you cannot nandroid before you root. you usually nand right after you root, and that would have the stock os and s-off
Yeah wish i had done that after i rooted. Was too excited ha! Anyhow as long as i have something stock to fall back on then i feel better.

Restoring to Stock from CM10 (Whats the Final Word?)

Hey guys,
Wanted to get a sure answer.
Whats the safest way to restore back to the stock firmware fro CM10 (or any rom in general).
There are two answers that i seem to have come across.
Answer 1:
Just download the stock firmware. Extract tar. Load onto PDA, check auto reset the flash reset and then start. Boom done! Everything reverts to stock, modem, firmware, kernel, etc.
Answer 2:
YOU MUST first flash stock kernel. So flash that first via odin then open odin again and flash the rom. If you don't flash the stock kernel first and then just flash the stock firmware, you'll have some issues.
As you can see, both are a bit contradicting. Whats the right method?
You missed one.
Make a nandroid of your stock ROM. then once you're done checking out CM or whatever else, just restore that. A lot less headache.

Yep, nandroid is much much faster. In fact I went to lunch today and restored my CM10 nandroid to show a friend. 10 minutes later I was back to my Samsung ROM. Its much easier than flashing stock, then re-rooting, then loading all your apps and data back on.
I had heard that nandroid restores between stock/CM9/CM10 were causing bugs, or something of the sort.
If it really is working that easily, I might have to give these CM9/CM10 builds a try. I just didn't want to play around with it for a bit and then be forced to set up my stock configuration all again, because I do have a need for a certain level of stability.
Edit: Ah, I was thinking of our Verizon version however. I think it might require an Odin flash back to stock, then you can restore a stock nandroid backup.
While I can't guarantee you won't have problems, I can say that I haven't had any issues while restoring nandroids.
*your experience may differ.

What version of CWM or TWRP is working fine for nandroid backup and restore, specially for Tmo version?

Nandroid and baseband.

Ok i tried to do my homework first but I am not completely sure for my given situation......
I made a nandroid backup using VRALJB. updated baseband to VRAMC3.
Questions:
can i flash to the nandroid backup i made using VRALJB?
Or will it not work because baseband is different?
What is are my options to flash back to the nandroid made with VRALJB?
Would it be a good (or even possible) option to... flash baseband back to VRALJB .......flash back to that nandroid backup.....flash back to VRAMC3.... then make a new nandroid on the new baseband?
Sorry if these questions are very basic or if i am not grasping simple problems.. trying to get the hang of this. Most of the threads i read are about other phones and i did not see one that even had the same problem.

The libs are not compatible. If you flash back you will be on VRALJB. To be able to use the VRAMC3 you need a C3 compatible rom. Suggestion. Wipe, install a C3 compatible or C3 rom and re-setup your device. Also make sure if you use a C3 rom, update your radios to C3.

I believe the baseband/modems are independent of the ROM. I understand VZW packages them so that they install together but when I updated to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 as an unlocked bootloader user, I was still using the I605VRAL4 baseband/modem before I performed a second flash to install I605VRAC3.
Check out this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2108510 as you will be presented with the 3 available baseband/modem options to flash. Post 14 of this thread is the OP indicating that he has flashed back and forth between JB and L4 baseband/modems without any negative side affects.

You are correct on the radio being independent of the rom but it all depends on if the OP used the feature in his recovery to back up the radio with his rom. If he backed up the radio then when he uses his nandroid it will put him back on the older radio but he can flash the new one again and will be golden.
OP, if you backed up the radio/modem with your rom in you nandroid the when you use that nandroid to go back you will be on the older radio. If you didnt back up your radio/modem with the rom in the nandroid then you will still be on the newest radio when you go back. Even if you did back up the radio in your nandroid it wont really matter, all you'd have to do is reflash it once you go back ti that nandroid. It isnt really a big deal and won't cause you any issues.

Need ROM for HTC Desire 626s (T-Mobile)

So, to start, I rooted my phone, unlocked the bootloader, and flashed TWRP for the recovery.
I did all of this so that I could prepare it for CyanogenMod. I made the mistake of not backing up my data (I seriously, seriously regret this decision now) and wiped my phone so that I could install Cyanogen, only to find out that there is no Cyanogen build available at this time for my phone model. I've looked all over google and bing and couldn't find one.
So I tried to find a stock rom to install. Screw it, I can debloat it myself if it's rooted, right? Nope. No stock roms. Sorry. Tried the RUU, and the one for my carrier says it's not the correct one, the metroPCS one stops halfway through the flashing process before it decides to tell me the same thing, and I didn't try the sprint RUU. This is driving me up the wall and all I want is a single flashable rom to work with so that I have some kind of functioning phone again.
Any help is appreciated.
Update: This thread helped me restore my phone to factory state, and I was able to re-reoot from there.
