tiny gear icon missing from phone - Samsung Gear S

Since upgrading to Lollipop, my Galaxy Gear S5 has not been displaying the tiny icon of a Gear S on the notifications area at the top of the 'phone screen.
According to the user manual: Status icons appear at the top of the Moments screen. You can also display status icons by double-tapping on the screen with two fingers.Common icons are listed in the table below. Icon Status: Bluetooth connected. The Gear S is connected to the smartphone via Bluetooth.
The main notifications area (pull down from main screen) confirms connection - as before.
Is this correct? And is there a way to bring it back?

[Q] How to display notification screen without tapping status bar?

How can I display the notification screen without tapping on the top status bar?
Meaning, I have big fingers, so it's difficult to tap the thin top status bar to display the notifications screen (the screen that shows connection status, new text message notices, etc).
So, I am looking for a way to create a shortcut that will display the notification screen without the hassle of trying to tap on little status bar to display it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

+1 I want that for a long long time and i have no clue how to make that shortcut.
In Android we can do that but in winmo i don't know.
Ok,
found a solution, install mortscript and then just run the attach script
you can assign this script to a shortcut in screen or assign it to a hardware key
this script is only a mouse click simulation. if you change the coordinates you can point the shortcut to perform a click in a different screen location
done
CHT has the widgets for notifications. You should try it, if haven't yet.

[Q] New? Unknown Status Bar Icon - Xperia Go

Hello All
I've tried searching and can find no reference to the icon shown here on the status bar, on the left of the right side group of icons, next to the Mute icon. It looks like two hands holding a rectangle.
I'm new to the Android platform and can find no reference to it on either the phones or the operators documentation. It's there all the time, and cant be selected. It does grey out when I attach a USB lead.
The phone is running ICS 4.04 on the O2 Ireland network.
Any ideas?
Thanks - Mike
Sorry guys, I've worked this one out myself
Its the Extended Standby Mode status icon. It pops up when you enable the mode but is greyed out whenever the phone is on charge.

Ellipsis in the notification area (…) instead of notification icons

I have a brand new Samsung C5, marshmallow 6.0.1, and I see in the notification area (upper left corner of the screen) an ellipsis icon plus the icon of the last notification to its right.
I want to see the icons for all notifications there, I failed to find a settings entry to control this.
I believe this is not just an issue with my phone.

REMOVE Samsung A10 Hugh CENTER Screen Battery Indicator - Android Pie

I have a Samsung A10e (Sprint) which as soon as it's tethered, shows a large circular battery indicator in the CENTER of the screen. To be sure, We're NOT talking about the small Batt. indicators in the pull down screen or top right corner.
This circular indicator appears for a few seconds over the center of the home screen when tethered and it's pretty large. This appears to be something new in Pie? Is there a way to disable it?? Once again, this is not the status bar battery notification!!

Question How to Hide Persistent App Icon

So I'm coming from a pixel 6 pro to the galaxy s23 ultra. It's my first Samsung phone so I'm still getting familiar with the Samsung flavor of Android.
Is there a way to hide/not display an apps persistent notification icon from the status bar? I use a diabetic monitoring app(xdrip+) which has to always be running for obvious reasons. The app produces a graph which is always visible when I pull down the notification bar, I like that peice and want to keep it. However having the icon displayed in the status bar at all times is an eye sore.
On the pixel (and previously my oneplus 7 pro) I could set the notification to "silent" and it would hide the icon but would still display the graph in the notification bar. I can't find a way to mirror that on my galaxy s23. I can disable the persistent notification all together, but then I lose access to the handy graph.
When the notification shade is down and all notifications are visible you tap and hold the notification you want to change and after a moment a few options will appear and you tap settings and it takes you yo settings for that notification

I tried that, and setting it to "silent" didn't do anything sadly. I also tried disabling the notification entirely but that sadly made the graph go away as well.

At the bottom tap notification categories and go through there

Ahhhhh thank you. I fooled around a bit in there before but didn't realize that there were sub options within sub options. Thank you so much for the help, I'm now able to hide the icon.
