Root Grand 2 NK1 latest update - Galaxy Grand 2 General

hello everyone !
I want to root my samsung galaxy grand 2, I'm on android version 4.4.2 with latest update NK1.
One thing more which recovery (CWM / Philz) will be good for it?
Please help me with download links of those apps which will be used while rooting and after rooting.
I've never rooted any device. In future is it possible to unroot my device?
Sent from my SM-G7102 using XDA Free mobile app

Here it is
https://youtube.com/watch?v=VOKnM3M-zN8
And link of xda form
http://androidxda.com/root-galaxy-grand-2-sm-g7102
Note: rooted will void your warranty

Are you sure it will work?
Because youtube video was uploaded about 8 months ago and NK1 is latest update.
Second link you shared about pre rooted rom which is 4.3 and mine is 4.4.2 don't you think that downgrading will brick my device?

For gaming try gennext kitkate suprior
Android v4.4.2
Which I am currently using
Is best for performance and gaming and not have any bug
You can read about it in below link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-grand-2/development/rom-gennxt-kitkat-superior-t2825134
For downloading
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23578570567716671
And video for installing
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=osWAzuA8lSk
There is other rom but not yet test by me but you can
Many user give good review of it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-grand-2/development/rom-gennxt-n4-project-t3009753
And my suggestion is use philz recovery instead of cwm bcuz cwm have touch bug
The only bug is philz recovery it take time ro recovery boot abot 1min
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-grand-2/orig-development/sm-g7102-philz-touch-6-47-4-t2798020
Before flashing any rom backup of your currently rom

You can flash stock firmware and then follow rooting method by cwm or use kingo root app. These process are far easy and without any lag.
Yes you should flash fresh stock firmware.

just flash the old one and then update it using playstore
I have the same phone. I rooted it successfully using Kingo App. Download and install Kingo App from kingoapp(dot)com. Enable usb debugging mode going to setting→developer options→usb debugging(set it to on). Run kingo app and then connect your phone to your pc using usb cable. The usb drivers will be automatically installed or kingo app will download and install it(over the internet). Then wait for some time until it says "rooted successfully".
then how can I returned it to stock firmware.. newbie here.. and after that can i play now the nba 2k14?

So how did you create this, Samsung hasn't released it, who onows they may never. Is it a Note 3 ROM like your 4.2.2 one modified to work on our Canadian Note 8?
What about root? What about 4.2.2 bootloader? Does it have the external SD locked for writing from apps like the real Kitkat?
Give us some info? If this is real, its amazing and we all owe you?

I didn't think the 5120 rom would work in our tablet. The 4.2.2 didn't, you had to create a special ROM.

I think AT&T is the i467. The Canadian carriers were the i467M. I don't know the difference but I wouldn't download this yet. Don't want to brick until I understand what this is.
I know that there is no release from Samsung for our ROMS, also that the 4.2.2 ROM from the 5120's LTE Note didn't work on ours, so be VERY careful. I'm waiting for some info from the developer as to what this is.
This same developer did a version of 4.2.2 for our i467M's. I'm using it, and it's great. The thread is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2446155
But I think that was ported from a Tab 3 as he called the thread 4.2.2 N5210 for i467M. The N5210 is not a Note. it is a Tab 3 10.1 inch tablet.

Is the kernel 5120 as well? If it is then maybe be able to attain wifi using the spherecat kernel. If it isn't than perhaps looking at the present i467m kernel may lead to some headway.

Do I have to root it after I install, and do I have to put on a custom recovery again, or will that remain?

I don't mess with cf. Never have, it's too much work when compared to just using odin to install twrp and then flash supersu. Google twrp, get the latest one for our decide, then Google supersu-update.zip and install that with twrp.
This will break your knox warranty btw.

Were you able to find a way to root G530az? I too cannot get it to work.
Yes I was......
Finally i rooted my new Grand Prime successfully
I so desparately wanted to root my new Grand Prime so I tried rooting by myself as it wasn't available by chainfire.
I haven't done much here, I just modified few files of CF-Auto-Root which was made for different device by chainfire.
Couldn't attach the file here as the size is 44MB
Download it from here: h t t p : / / d - h . s t / AWH
(remove spaces in the above link)
sad i'm not allowed to post links here yet
The zip archive contains:
Odin v3.07
2_cache_recovery_stock_mohan_sm-g530h.md5
1_cfroot_sm-g530h_mohan.tar.md5
Rooting method is simple.
Boot device into download mode and flash the first file: 2_cache_recovery_stock_mohan_sm-g530h.md5
Wait for the device to reboot and again boot into download mode and flash the second file: 1_cfroot_sm-g530h_mohan.tar.md5
Now after the device has finished reboot you can see SuperSU installed. Open it and it will ask to disable knox notification... Press Cancel.
If SuperSU asks for su binary update, just press the Normal button.
Hope this helps someone
Edit:
Sorry guys, something went wrong while renaming the flash files. I have updated the above link which now works... Thanks...

Has anyone checked the original posters claim? There have been proven reports of Kingroot and other APKs stealing data like IMEI and more and transmitting back to their servers for malicious activities.

... I've tried this on my SM-G530W ... it doesn't seem to affect anything. I can't read what it says and all it shows is a "no wifi" sign. I've tried flashing some files and I tried EVERY SINGLE root application. When I flashed those files my phone got hard bricked and I had to buy a new Samsung Grand Prime. Dude there is no difference.... just pretend its a 900t and follow the same directions. Mine is also from Metro and I have the 900t Marshmallow running on it and its awesome. On Lollipop my Wifi worked but the Wifi Calling kept cutting out and in a basement apt I was barely ever getting a call. Now with Marshmallow it's running at 100%... everything actually works like it should and its a joy to hear the phone ring all the time.
