Kernels verified working on sprint! - Sprint HTC One (M9)

Thanks!

Working well on InsertCoin 1.2.0. No issues so far...

Might try it on Leedroid and report back. I imagine multivariant roms that have international rom bases will work with this rom. Now if it works on Badboyz etc, that would be awesome sauce. Cannot wait to see some overclocking on the 810.

It should run on bad boys

New update for Viper up that updated the base build to the .30 with camera fixes hfa etc. I'm gonna play around with the current roms and see what is the best set up. Also to note that leedroid just dropped a new kernel with fast charging enabled.

Latest leedroid kernel working on our device as well!

What rom did you test leedroid on?

Viper

I ran it fine on badboyz .30 rom.

This should get posted in the dev forum simply because some people only go in there, like myself usually. I happened to come in here and saw it so tried Lee and elemental, can't decide which one to stick with though, lol. both are nice.

It's really odd that all kernels have worked flawlessly. I'm on viper 1.3.0 with the latest .30 base on leedroid kernel 2.0. Works great.

The device tree is so similar, with the m9. They have unified a lot! Leedroid has kcal baked in so you can play with color saturation. I'm currently running it now.

Does everything work? And is s-off required to flash the kernel,? I'm unlocked on viper sprint

S off is reccomended for viper. Kernels no. I go s off because it's needed for full customization.
Big note. Viper 1.3 frees 3gb of space from the internal. It requires s off.

Yes everything is working so far. I've ran both for days and not had an issue yet. It's always better to get soff, I am so everything I've tested has been on an soff'ed phone.

I've run elemental and leedroid kernels in last 2 days. They were both smooth but on the elemental kernel streaming video was bad, just non stop skipping. Leedroid has no issues and is what I'm running now.
I'm on the bad boyz .30 rom, s-off etc.

What's your daily driver?

As the title states, which ROM is your daily driver and why?
i've just made the jump from toast's cm7.1 to joelz's aosp ics. the only thing that's missing is a working camera. i can live without that for now. certainly not a deal breaker for me.
Joelz ics +1 here, pretty awesome, would like that camera working, but that's the only real issue I have with it. Had some trouble flashing it, but once I did a factory wipe, it was all butter after that...

CleanROM. I use bluetooth phone and especially a2dp audio everyday. Once those are working I may jump to whatever ics rom has those working.
MIUI is mine, for the amazingly long battery life and low resource usage with incredible smoothness. I dont have 4G in my area so losing that is no big deal and I dont care about 3D in the slightest, the one thing I miss though is the Amaze camera port and a working ZSL kernel. Cant get that on AOSP but the loss of it is not enough to make me switch on a daily basis. Stability seems far better on MIUI too compared to any Sense ROM I have tried.
So in Summary:
I can get over 3 days battery life on MIUI
Stability is better
Smoother
Less resources
All games work (dont graphical glitch and crash phone)
Blackend rom with American metal theme

The best Sense 3.5 ROM out there. Other ROMs have this gimmik, that non-working "feature". But in the end, you can't beat a swift, stable, fully-functional ROM with 40h+ battery life.
As for the kernel I use anthrax, the "unspeakable" one .

Any ICS Roms good enough for daily driver?

I would post this in the Development section, but I dont have enough posts yet.
Does anyone use an Ice Cream Sandwich ROM that is stable enough to use as a daily driver? I looked through the list but they all seem to be lacking data connection, gps, or some other main function that I need.
Is anyone running one of the ICS Roms as a daily driver?
Scotts 3.7 is fantastic! Only thing not working is data arrows. Do it! You won't regret it.

Joelz BAMF 1.0 is - been running it since Joel started development on it
The only ICS roms having data issues that I am aware of is the ones that are a true AOSP rom, such as CM9. To my knowledge all of the sense based ICS roms are working, with very few bugs, if any. I personally like Joelz desensed ICS rom. He should be updating in within the next couple days. I use it as my daily driver and have zero issues whatsoever.
id say go for clean rom and de-sense it if you want. the only thing keeping me away right now is all of the ugly green in the rom. once a blueish theme comes ill go for it. yes im anal about how my phone looks.

All of the ICS kernels stick at 384mhz or 1512mhz (or whatever max is) at all times, unless you apply the Conservative governor with a CPU control app (like SetCPU).
This causes
a) overheating (some report)
b) terrible battery drain (this is why ICS battery life typically is not as good as GB battery life)
c) great benchmark speed
Even with my extended battery, I'm not interested in this non-standard erratic performance and CPU clock speed situation.
When the kernel source is released, I hope that devs' work on ICS kernels is more stable than their work on GB kernels, too!
Anyway, the above explanation is why I will NOT be jumping to ICS again until a normally functioning kernel is available.
It's not worth it for facial unlock and Chome Beta. and...... yeah I have no idea what else ICS is good for!

I do no not speak ill of other rom's but i highly recomend nil's p business ICS. It's smooth, stable , slightly themed and very well supported.
I have only tried Cleanrom ICS and NIL Business ICS. Both work good for me. Speaker phone works a little better on NILS. Tether, GPS navigation work on NILS. Didn't test GPS on CR but I assume it works. Tether works on CR. Battery is decent on both. They seem just a tad slower than gingerbread for me.
Apex launcher is nice for people that want a more AOSP like launcher.
Be careful of Mainversion if trying to switch back to a gingerbread rom from a ics rom though. If the Mainver is higher than a rom your are trying to switch too, you will have issues. There is a file here on the forums you can flash to set mainver lower before flashing a lower mainver rom I believe.
I'm using CleanRom 3.5. I don't have any notable issues. Tether works fine. Battery life is really good.

Guide for ICS ROMS available (updating with leaks and more roms)

Hey guys, I've seen that lots of people have been having confusion between the ICS roms and whatnot.
1. TMOUS ICS LEAK
Stock Sense 3.6 with Ics 4.0.3
2. Android Revolution HD 2.x.x
Same as TMO Leak only with improved performance and battery. There are NO visual changes whatsoever in what I've seen. Completely stock look.
3. Energy ROM build April 27 and forward
Based on TMO Leak. April 27 build is much like Android Rev HD, only with some tweaks put in by NRG. New build that is on the way is themed and has more tweaks. If you haven't used the Energy ROM before, expect a heavily themed ROM just like the earlier GB builds of the ROM.
4. Speed Run 2.x.x
Currently in beta testing. A senseless ROM, with ICS lockscreen and Stock ICS look. If I'm not mistaken, Sense launcher/Rosie is removed and replaced by another launcher, more specifically, Trebuchet or Nova for example, which are built on the Stock ics launcher with more features.
5. RevolutionizedNonSense
Based on ARHD 2.1.0. Similar to Speed Run, with much of Sense removed. Rosie replaced by Apex.
Hope some people can make good use of it

Can someone please post AnTuTu scores of the different versions. I am probably going to flash one of these (Energy probably as I am used to his GB ROM) soon as I am tired of all the TMobile crap, and I need the quick settings that NRG has in his version.
I am currently on stock ICS, rooted with ext4 installed. AnTuTu has given me scores around 6500 (last run was 6558) and I have seen someone on AndroidRev has a score of 6666. If any of these ROMs are significantly faster, I will go with that option. Anyone on Energy, please? I cannot post in the Android Dev section because I have never posted much here. But I am absolutely loving ICS so far, and might even try and get into development since I have a little bit of coding skills.

I hope u don't base which rom to flash by antutu benchmarks. Honestly, it doesn't take but 10 min to do a backup and flash a rom. I always download each rom and make a backup so I can just switch between backups. It's always best to try a variety and see what u like best.

Not to whore out my rom but.. well wait, I kinda am.
You can add RevolutionizedNonsense to the list- it is based on Android Revolution HD(which has a ton of tweaks you should note on the OP) but has all of the sense removed, and uses aosp(Lockscreen,Browser, mms, gallery, email, calendar, etc) a lot like the speed run does(I just chose a better name )
But so far it has been super smooth, everything works.. and because it was built on top of mike1986's Android Revolution it is snappy as hell, and so far really good on battery life.
Really, I couldn't ask for a better rom unless I made it myself.. which I did.

[Q] what is the best rom for evo 3d (GSM) ?

what is the best rom for evo 3d (GSM)
(stable,3D working) ?
Thanks
Best is subjective.
I use mwakious v9. Havent updated to 10 or 11 since everything works, 3d, camera, bluetooth, gps, battery. And ive been a bit busy. Everything worked in v 7 and 8 too.
Its ics, looks real pretty etc
And most impotantly i can make calls.
My oh has stock ota ics. I cant see too much difference, except i have root, leedroid tweaks, a load of customisations etc
Just my two cents.
from what i have herd its either mwakious or leedroid...
mwakious v11.1 is out later to day so you might aswel wait for it as you need a clean install.
I am using mwakious v9 and its a nice ROM but for some reason the in line headphone controls (play, forward etc) do not work for me
and for some reason the task manager takes a little time to show the apps running...
hopefully fixed in v11
as for leedroid I havn't used it so i cant say
This is all based on what you want.
I've been using the KingCobra ROM on my Evo.
I'm still on version 1.2, as it has beats audio and is very stable.
Personally, I prefer KingCobra over the others, and it's also ICS.

Look for a ROM recommendation

I want to root and install a custom ROM because I use my phone alot for music now and I would like the beats for all mod. I am also interested in the HQ camera. I like Sense 3.6 how it is. I have not used sense 4.0 and dont know if I need that. I want all bloat removed. One of my main reasons I havent rooted yet is because I dont want to have to redownload all my apps from the store. If I just back up my SD card will I be fine?
I keep coming back to Vigor360 because it does everything you are asking for (-camera) and is smooth/fast. I have tried a lot of ROMs and highly reccomend it. Check out Titanium Backup to backup your stuff before changing ROMs because you'll need to wipe your phone!
I think you can flash/install something separate to upgrade your camera. Not sure.

IMHO, I would go with ViperRez. It has the beats all mod and is debloated. Sense 4 is sooooo smooth on that ROM, and the Venom tweaks give you all the options that give ViperRez an AOSP feel. It should definitely be a top contender for you to try.
Sun's viper kang is really really smooth. I'm running it as my DD for a week and have had no problems. I'm using it De-sensed and I get thirteen hours of life out of my battery. Easily the nicest Rom I've flashed in the past month

I really like HTC texting and I would prefer not to lose that. Where do I go from there?
CounterStrike 2.2
CounterStrike 2.2 is pretty awesome. The most stable senseless Rom (the other ones my rezound has had issues with GPS and Bluetooth consistently working) my S-ON Rezound has experienced. IT has DSP Manager but no beats.
If you like Sense, VIper Rez is super smooth. After I traded my Galaxy Nexus for the Rezound, I had Clean Rom 1.4 DE for a week or two and then Viper Rez became my default ROM for 2 months until CounterStrike. I prefer senseless aesthetics, but Sense can be smoother and has better support for EAS.

CounterShrike is actually an AOSP ROM, not a Senseless ROM. Before we had AOSP, Senseless ROMs were ROMs that had a bunch of stuff stripped from it to make it look like AOSP.

sometimes need to clean the memory cos lags suddenly appear
there a lot of gr8 roms out there
if u have the time try them u will figure more about ur taste
If I get a senseless rom, is the camera going to be bad? One of the main reasons I didnt like using senseless ROMs in the past was the lack of camera support

There is a big difference between senseless ROMs and AOSP-based ROMS:
Senseless ROMS are actually based on the stock Sense ROM, but have many aspects of Sense removed, and are often themed to look like AOSP. These include Adrenaline, NeoMAX, SlimROM / SlimKANG, and CleanROM DE.
AOSP ROMS are based on Google's original Android code, known as AOSP (Android Open Source Project). Most AOSP ROMS are based either on CM (CyanogenMod) which is based on AOSP, or on AOKP (Android Open Kang Project), which, in turn, is based on CM. AOSP ROMs include CounterShrike, AOKP-Neo, Rage, AOKP Nightlies, and Paranoid Android.
Sorry if that was more confusing than helpful...
Now to answer your question, I believe all Senseless ROMs keep the Sense Camera (although they sometimes have the AOSP camera icon and theming), so the camera will be the same as stock. AOSP ROMs have the AOSP camera, which is worse than the Sense camera, but not by that much - the quality depends much more on the phone's hardware than on the camera software.
TLDR - the camera in Senseless ROMs is the same as in Sense ROMs; the camera in AOSP ROMs is a little worse.
CounterShrike is the best one out there. However I recommend 2.1 because I've heard the latest versions have issues with video playback. 2.1 has been running fine on my phone for weeks now. Also, for improving smoothness (and battery life strangely enough - maybe this is due to not constantly ramping up/down the CPU?), use the "performance" governor in performance settings.

Also note that a majority of the posts supporting AR base their arguments on falsehoods (such as that TWRP has bugs/imperfections, that TWRP can't flash VRThemes, or that CWM still has a charging issue), or on nothing at all.

The only reason I stick to Amon over TWRP is compatibility with vrthemes, and it seems like backup and restores are quicker. I don't think one is necessarily better than the other, its all personal preference.

As I said in the post you quoted, TWRP can flash VRThemes. Con's port could't, but FlyHalf's build can.
And I'm not sure about backup / restore, but on my phone, TWRP wipes and flashes much faster than AR.

Thank you for teaching me something new, then. I didn't know that had been updated. FlyHalf is a monster lol.
Ecliptic Rez
I think the Ecliptic Rez rom is by far the best!
