[Q] why isnt my phone connecting to internet when im connected to wifi - E 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone won't connect to internet and I'm connected to wifi. i don't know how to fix it I've tried everything

Are you connecting to the internet over a phone service? I recall something like this happening to me when I had an iphone (not an android but very similar). If I can recall correctly, my issue had something to do with permissions issues. Luckily for you, if you have TWRP recovery installed, there is an option to fix permissions under Advanced settings.
There are plenty of guides available to help you install TWRP if you haven't already done so.

Can't connect to PC

Hey, whenever I connect my phone to my laptop I don't get any options for what I want to do. I went into the setting to try and connect manually but I can't seem to do it.
My phone charges when I connect it to my laptop but nothing else.
The problems started after I flashed Cronos Droid 1.7.1. I also lost the market app when I flashed Cronos 1.7.1.
I have tried re-flashing the ROM but that didn't work, I have also tried doing a nandroid backup but for some reason all of my backups were gone. I think there might be something wrong with my SD card but I don't know how to check.
Has anyone else had this problem? How can I fix this?
try downloading dual mount SD widget (needs rooted phone).
This might alllow you to mount your phone to your laptop.
If this doesnt work, try connecting your phone to another computer and see what happens.
Hope this helps

Cant put any file on phone

Rooted my phone exactly how the guide told me to, and now my phone wont communicate with my computer, i cant put files, music or anything else on my phone. It wont communicate with kies, kies air, doubletwist, and doesn't let me explore files. Any help would be great. And i tried searching and couldnt find the thread, could someone link me the thread to do a full system restart on my phone in case i need to return it?
Here's the thread from Entropy on restoring back to stock, either rooted or unrooted.

As to your issue, so even if you attempt to connect via an IP address, it doesn't work? Have you tried the 'Wifi File Transfer' app in the Marketplace by chance?
I did try Wifi File Transfer app and it did the same thing as kies air and doubletwist wifi sync, and just said there was a network error.
I restored it back to factory default and everything is working fine now, ill try another method of rooting it and see if there is a difference.
My brother (Spring S II) and I (AT&T S II) are experiencing the same issues. However on my mac they connect fine. What gives?

[Q] Wifi network not showing

I've got a strange problem with this x10i phone, I'm not the owner of this phone, but someone I know gave it to me cause she thougt the phone was dead, I dont know what problem she experienced because after I put the phone to the charger it just booted like there was no problem. One problem that I encountered after I turned the phone on though is that my homes wifi network is not showing in the network list. I do not have this problem on my own samsung galaxy 3 and since I'm not familliar with this phone I'm not sure what to do. I want to help the girl who owns this phone out by putting some usefull apps on it, so does anyone know how to solve this problem? The phone is running on stock Android 2.1 Eclair.
Is it a Ad-hoc network?

I don't know if Your samsung can see the Ad-hoc network, so it would be better to check it. If it isn't an ad-hoc network it may be a ROM problem. I would suggest You to install the stock ROM 2.3.3 for now with SEUS.
P.S. Doing that will erase all of the phone data (not the sdcard)
Next problem

The phone doesn't seem to get connected to my pc via usb. It starts charging but there is no usb icon or anything like that. I'm on Windows 7 64bit with Sony PC Companion installed, the same problem happens on a 32bit XP. I connected with a usb micro cable that was laying around, not with the official cable that came with the phone, could that be a problem? Anyway, anyone got a solution?
Edit: The usb port didn't make contact very well I think because when I pushed it in further it showed the icon and I'm able to connect to pc
Just succesfully updated the phone to 2.3 stock firmware (wich hurted my fingers because I had to push in the usb cable the whole time ) The problem with the wifi still persists, wifi networks from the neighbourhood showing up, but my home network isn't... Any more suggestions?
Edit: figured it out myself at last, phone didn't see my own network because it was on channel 13. I've changed the channel to 4 in the router and now it works just fine

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Tab 7500 (3G) not detectable

Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum, i have gone through a number of post to understand how to root and flash my tab 7500 with pershoot's EXPERIMENTAL ROM. After I install everything in the tablet is working fine but when I connect to pc it is not detecting as a storage device. But the tablet is charging when I am connecting to PC (This was new, it never charged with previous official ICS). I tried recovering to my previous official ICS by recover option in CWM. Then tab is getting detected by PC and it is not in charging mode.
Is this some issue with the firmware? Or am i missing something simple? Please help me out..
I have tried searching for this issue on internet but couldn't get any useful info regarding that.
I am experincing same issue, but with ics stock ROM, which I have flashed from 3.2 stock rom. When I connect the cable to pc, tablet does the sound, but won't start the mtp server, and computer cant see it.
Problem solved
Seems like this is a small setting that needs to be selected.
Go to Settings>Storage>USB Computer Connection and check MTP checkbox.
After I did that my system is detecting it as a storage device and also charging it
@kosciCZ : You might also want to check that setting.

I am afraid that this is not that case. I checked it multiple times, tried the other option, but it still does nothing.

Unsolved mystery: can't turn on bluetooth or make "normal" USB connections

Hi,
I'm struggling with my Samsung GT-I9300 for long six days and can't get bluetooth or "normal" USB connection.
Last week, after my battery deplet I made a full charge and when turn on the phone some weird error about encryptation appeared. The phone won't boot anymore.
I have done a standard ROM flash procedure and since that, no matter what ROM I put in, phone hangs or reboot when I try to turn on bluetooth.
Besides that, "normal" USB connection isn't possible anymore. The command "adb devices" show nothing. Strangely, I can put the phone on "download mode" and flash any ROM to it.
I already tried with different cables (all Samsung original), different computers (Windows and Mac), different USB ports on the computers and nothing seems to work...
Tried several Samsung stock ROMs for GT-I9300, ArchiDroid, Cyanogen, etc.
I done extense Google research and cannot get out of this situation by myself. Now I need to receive help from the pros.
I don't think that the problem is hardware related.
Anyone knows how to check if the bluetooth firmware is "in place"? I mean, how to verify using commands in adb shell (as root) what must be the correct bluetooth firmware, his location and etc.
Same thing for USB (MTP?) related function.
If it was hardware related, flash things using ODIN wouldn't be possible, right?
