[Q] a new one

hello everybody!
I'm a new here and I really need your help in some issue:
my files were deleted by accident when i did a wipe to my samsung fascinate after a rom changing. they were raelly important files (images and etc.) to me. is there any chance i could get those files back? sry about the english and thanks alot for the helpers
All your files should be on your SC card not your phone's memory....
yea i allready knew it, but the files are gone anyway! I got into the DCIM folder and the file were not there
Need more info, were you on a gingerbread rom? If so your sd card is about to get fried.
Keep me Fascinated.
ok so i was on community rom if I remember- then I changed to cm7 and it worked great even with the memory thing and i also had a titanium backup so I could recover the files anytime but suddenly it stopped to work! I couldnt activate the apk, which mean that I cant get my files back...I downloaded the apk again but there was no backup at all! and now I'm really stuck!
There you go, CM7 is a GB based rom.
Keep me Fascinated.

[Q] System apps still there after rebooting Samsung Galaxy Ace 2.3.3 Gingerbread.

Hello guys.
Please Help.
I have upgraded the Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 firmware . (Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread). No problems.
Have rooted the phone. Deleted the new system apps that get installed with Gingerbread update.
Although there are TWO sys apps that are totally stuck in the phone. I tried Titanium Backup, and other system app uninstallers in the market. After I unroot and reboot...They show up in the menu. And they are working too.
I have searched and searched...and found out something about s-on and s-off in htc desire. Is it the same security thing on galaxy ace gingerbread update?
Any solutions?
Take care.
What are the sys apps ?
Edit: HTC is the only company that implement#)s S-ON

Have you tried removing it manually (either by ADB or RootExplorer)?
Thanx for replying guys.
The sys apps are S-Android and Slide ME SAM 4.0.
Haven't tried Root Explorer...I don't think its free to use.
Haven't tried using ADB....it's a long process though.
Got any simple link to step by step ADB installation and deleting the sticky .apk files?
Will try anything that works.
take care
Man, i'm in a jumbo problem!!!
Somebody HELPPP!!!!
As advised, I downloaded Root Explorer, found the 2 sys apps in /system/app.
Did a long press and clicked delete. Went back to the Parent folder../system. Then clicked on app..(/system/app)......voila....they're back!!!!
Then I changed their file names from .apk to .bak.
Backed out and went back in.....the file name changed itself to .apk!!!
C'mon guys, Am i the only one with this fishy problem?
Waiting eagerly...
Try chuck Norris mode in titanium backup? xD

Thanks all for the advice's.
1.Tried Antek app manager, deleted the sys app....it came back after rebooting.
2. Chuck Norris mode was already checked before deleting the sys app in TB.
Chuck Norris couldn't save the day.
3. Tried Terminal Emulator with all its commands, sys app got deleted....it came back after rebooting.
Now what?
hello guys..
No program worked but...
One thing just crossed my mind.
When i delete a sys app and instead of rebooting if i put it on recovery mode to unroot....do i have to wipe some data....or make a factory reset or something???
After posting the previous reply...I thought of wiping the dalvik cache after deleting the sys apps from Titanium Backup. I wiped the dalvik cache through ROM toolbox...it rebooted itself...now all this was done on the rooted phone.
Listen to this, after it rebooted itself....the sys apps weren't there and i was overly joyed. Then i thought ...time to unroot the device....unrooted, rebooted, back to square one....they're back!!!
Isn't there anybody with a similar problem?
No solution or reason as to why this is happening?
Root explorer will help. Navigate to the system/app folder and delete away.
I think i did that a 1000 times.

I know this may sound like a silly question but have you tried doing a wipe and reset from Recovery or settings menu? If you are looking to do more of a manual process the use an app like Root Explorer or ES File explorer. You may have to modify the permissions of the folder to Read/Write to delete files.
Click Thanks button if this helps.
Its solved , i re-stocked and made factory reset from there because i couldnt delete everything using cwm on toldos rom.

[Q] Restore contacts2.db

Hello everyone!
Up till now this forum helped me in every stupid thing i did with my HTC Tattoo (rooting, insxtaling cyanogen etc) but now im stuck and i couldn find any anwsers so i have to ask for help
Here's the deal: I have cyanogen mod 7 on my HTC Tattoo and yesterday it got stuc (bootloop) and wouldnt turn on. Me being the i***t i am didnt do a backup recently, so i did a backup in clockworkmod recovery. I did a factory reset and everythin and the phone works ok now, but i've lost all my data. I can live without the apps and sms's but i would really like to get my contacts back. I tried to backup only the data in clockwork recovery, but i get the same bootloop again. I managed to extract the contacts2.db file from my data.img, but now i don't know how to get it back on my device. I tried coppying it back in the correct folder using root explorer, but that didnt work (contacts were still empty) and now i'm stuck.
I would really apreciate some help
Thank you!
This is why you should sync your contacts to Google. Before you wiped your phone, did you try flashing the CM ROM zip first? If the cause of the boot loop was something you messed up in the /system partition, then flashing the CM zip will wipe your system partition and put a clean copy of the ROM there, and your phone will work. You wouldn't need to wipe your data partition. So try this now, restore the backup of your messed up ROM and flash the CM zip over it. Let's see if it works.
