Just got an OtterBox Defender for my Note and I pulled my old matte screen protector off since the Defender has a built in screen protector but it turns out that one is a terribly grainy horrible feeling one, so I'm going to pop it out and use a normal screen protector, so does anyone reccomend a good MATTE screen protector? Thanks :3.

Isn't the device Gorilla Glass 3, making the screen protector sort of superfulous?
I use their screen protectors usually for all my devices but as much as I like them they are a bit too expensive on amazon.ca for me.
I especially like their oleophobic ones as well. I have to stick with the ringke SP and see how those fair.

Depends on your usage some people may not need them. I'm clumsy so I prefer extra protection. Gorilla Glass is scratch resistant not scratch proof. Google "are screen protectors necessary with gorilla glass" and decide for yourself.
I only use their Steinheil Ultra Crystal protectors. Anyone that's used them before knows how nice they are.

I once paid around $30 for a spigen glastr or whatever they call it screen protector. It broke after about a couple weeks in my pocket.
I ended up ordering 3 glass screen protectors on ebay from china. They were just about as thin and worked just as well. I think total I spent like 15 bucks shipped for all 3.
Hi I'm new to the forum although I've been browsing for quite some time. Been a samsung user since S2. Had the gear 2 neo and loved it. Just got the Gear S yesterday and am loving it too. One question though, would the Gear S require a screen protector? Or is it made of the same kind of gorilla glass as the phones?

I haven't seen it officially stated anywhere but I believe it is gorilla glass as the Gear 2/Neo and Gear Fit were. This is actually not the primary concern in terms of damage though. The plastic shiny silver bezel is more problematic than the screen!

I wonder if all these screen protectors will have the "Halo" that the note 4 owners keep complaining about because of the curve screen. If someone tries this out let us know the outcome. Lifetime warranty not bad for the full body screen protector
I dont thing they will as they are just plastic so it should curve with the screen. On the note 4 the plastic can curve all the way down so you get the halo problem

BTW, the Note 4 and the GEAR S, a bad combo..
I got my XtremeGuard protectors today and installed one on the Gear S. The fit is great and installation is the same as any other wet application protector. Can't beat $0.70 a piece!

Got my xtremeguard the other day. It installed perfectly. Barely can tell it's there. Definitely worth the 70 cents or even more. Might try the skinomi next if I damage the xtremeguard. I like the cut outs on the skinomi.

I got silicon case and tempered glass screen protector, from roadside vendor, have to make do with this as there is no good brand cover, btw got cover for 50 rs and screen protector for 80 rs

Pros:
Fit & Finish wise both products are good,
there are so many alternates of Silicon cover, But personally i like transparent color so ordered it.
Rest all is well after 7 days of use.
Cons:
Cover & screen guard will increase the chances of overheating,
Both products seems overpriced, when you will compare with local vendors.

Check Amazon. There is a lot to choose from. If you stick to a known brand you should be OK. I had my case and glass screen protector before I received my phone. I got a clear plastic case so I can see the color of my green phone. I have been using similar cases for years without any issues. This is the first time in a long time I got to use a tempered glass screen protector. My last few phones had curved screens and the glass really didn't fit properly.

I'd recommend you a film screen guard from Gadgetshieldz which is not plastic, it is made from nano polymer as I saw on their website. This protector can self-heal so you can get this instead of the plastic ones.
I got the amfilm 2 pack OneTouch tempered glass screen protector. Turned on increased sensitivity, re-registered my fingerprints and it seems fine.
When applying it, press from the bottom where the fp sensor is, it might help.
I went with amFilm HD Clear Hybrid Screen Protector. Its a 2 pack and also comes with 2 camera protectors as well. I didnt use them, but the screen protector looks flawless.
I read too many issues with glass protectors, so while I ordered one, it will stay put away for now.

I'm going to try the Samsung screen protector (it's cheap and on offer!).
My S20 came with a screen protector already installed, and I discovered, by an accidental drop onto a brick corner, that it does a decent self-healing job. The brick gouged right in the middle of the screen, making a rough raised welt. I thought I'd have to replace it, but after a day it had flattened out, closed up, and become much less noticeable. It's still visible, but it's smooth and looks more like a small chip than a deep gouge.

The one on my S20 has lasted pretty well for 2 years, so that's not a problem for my usage. I don't want a glass one that can shatter or crack when damaged.

Yes, the glass protector shatters and it is frustrating! and my usage is high so I'll get so many scratches. As clairlara said in the discussion I ordered this Gadgetshieldz film screen protector and it can really self-heal the scratches that occur on it as she said and I like this instead of a plastic protector! check it out,
