[Q] I hope to help the problem in the firmware installation - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I need help in the problem of non-completion of the installation of the firmware
phone Galaxy S6 Edge Model SM-G925I
Root was rooting , When you attempt the firmware installation is not completed See attached photo .
The file was the inauguration of linkage here and then returned to life, but so far the inauguration of the firmware can not be the same problem .

now..comes the part that is not simple..there non online..you must get it from your phone..the best is a rooted phone..there are some tutorials and tools online..simple google search it..I tried but was tired with my non rooted phone..
BTW..what you can try is to extract the firmware and make your own with only system and kernel firmware..look in the general thread for new Vodafone firmware..I will try that also...it should bring a few updates..

I got the same issue many times with some regional FWs on my old GS5, just follow these steps and you should be ok, i guess it's a mismatched "hidden" partition size, you don't need anyway, i contains only some bloats most of the times.
- Extrat the FW with any archiving tool (i recommend 7zip).
- Remove "Hidden.img"
- Repack all other files as "tar" archive with 7zip, OR linux command line "tar -cvf G925I_AOD1.tar sboot.bin cm.bin recovery.img boot.img cache.img modem.bin system.img"
- Flash it through Odin

Help Unrooting S3 on Mac? No ABOOT in Heimdall!

Hello,
I want to return my Samsung S3 to unrooted stock firmware, I have just reset my flash counter but I am having a few issues following this tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2343338
I have acquired the stock firmware, and booted my phone into download mode, Heindall can connect to the phone and I saved my .pits file successfully to the Desktop of my Mac.
However, wafter extracting the .md5 file the tutorial starts by loading the 'ABOOT" file in Heimdall and I don't have an ABOOT file. After extracting the stock firmware I have these files:
boot.img
cache.img
hidden.img
modem.bin
recovery.img
sboot.bin
system.img
tz.img
Can someone advise me ion how to procees flashing the custom firmware? I downloaded the latest UK stock firmware which is unbranded (as is my phone) and matched up the baseband etc so I know it's the correct version. I just want to unroot/re-lock the bootloader etc.
Thanks
Edited.

Please use the red report button to report your post this is not Q&A.
Sboot.bin is the file you are looking for. Aboot is only for Snapdragon phones, yours is Exynos.

you could also download your firmware..rename the tar.md5 to tar and extract it..voila
Odin don't let me flash G925F modem. Failed everytime. I think bootloader not accept another baseband.

how to extract modem.bin

hy all. i need the steps and tools to extract modem.bin from the image tar for galaxy alpha.
what does the modem.bin if i install in odin? is this change my csc or m i stpid and confused, scrambling things here?
first, i need to change my csc, trough flashing via odin does not change.
and 2, i need to know what modem.bin does if i flash it trough odin separately....and how to do it?
...i think i need to go to some android proffesional school cuz every day i learn something new...and that's cool
Hi kepiro,
you can extract modem.bin from the firmware image with 7zip or WinRAR, ignore the error message and extract the file. For changing your CSC you can have a look here.
Flashing modem.bin is possible with odin.

The modem.bin is located in the root of the compressed tar, here's a picture of the opened archive: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-alpha/help/lolipop-modem-t3185495.
You can take the modem.bin file untouched to flash via odin.

Flash zip in download mode

Hey
Yesterday I flashed a boot logo on my SM-G928F in TWRP. After that my phone doesn't boot into system or recovery anymore - there's always a blackscreen. I only can boot into download mode.
I tried to flash a stock-rom via Odin but that didn't helped - the same blackscreen, because a stock rom does not replace the boot logo.
I think I have to flash the stock boot logo ( https://drive.google.com/file/d/1378RQ5w_vAAmnQ3HB0FymZXWIm12T0Mg/view ) , but thats a zip which I can't flash via Odin.
There a two ways in my mind which could work:
1. Getting a tar.md5 file with the stock boot logo.
2. Getting a tool which allows to flash zips in download mode of the phone.
I really hope that someone could help me with my big problem.
Best regards
DGB
Hey there
I recommend to flash the firmware again but this time after flashing firmware flash the twrp and flash the zip via adb sideload ( a feature present in TWRP) as by adb sideload one is able to flash zip files as well
Or i recommend you to get to know the combination of keys that will help you to directly enter into recovery
Hope it will work
And if there is any problem let me know
As in the internet there are various ways by which a person can flash the custom rom and custom recovery via odin
Look at this link:-
http://www.lineageosrom.com/2017/07/how-to-flash-custom-rom-via-odin.html?m=1

Thank you for your answer but that didn't worked. The problem is that flashing the stock firmware doesn't replace or repair the boot image. So I've got a never ending blackscreen when I want to boot in system or TWRP/Recovery and that means that I'm not able to configure ADB Sideload.
I can only boot into download mode, nothing else.
I think the jpg of the boot logo I've installed was corrupted so it can't be loaded
You are in download mode so you have to press all the keys including the home button and once the download mode closes then press the "volume up key and power key and also the home button and then your phone will automatically reboot into recovery.
I know, I tried that multiple times but it doesn't work. Blackscreen... only a never ending blackscreen. The download mode is the only thing taht works. I have to flahs the old boot logo via download mode... but i don't know how
Wait for the battery to be drained out completely and then do what i said earlier

I did. but it didn't work, too
I really need someone who is able to integrate the stock boot logo into a custom rom which can be flashed via Odin... Or I need a tool which allows to install zips in download mode. I tried adb sideload again but it didn't recognizes my phone when its not in recovery.
I really think that my S6 edge + is nearly died :crying:

Not even flashing a factory firmware (4 files with pit) with repartition option selected?
What about a combination firmware and then a full stock FW?

I only tried to flash stock firmware with AP in Odin... and I tried stock rom with re-partition.
Where do I get those 4 files? I need XEU for my SM-G928F. It would be very nice if you could give me a more detailed instruction for this because I never worked with PIT...
get samfirm v0.3.6
On the model you put sm-g928f, region XEU, tick the binary nature box and press "check update". Download the resulting file, that is a factory firmware to do repairs in a 4 files format: bootloader, pda or ap, modem or cp and csc!
You will get this file:
SM-G928F_1_20180305151001_nsg8uwd0sh_fac.zip
Put each file in the correct field in odin!
About combination firmware, it needs to be same binary version as stock firmware already programed on phone! if first number on firmware version is a 3, combination FW need to be also bin 3!
G928FXXS4CRB4 if is 4, you need comb fw also in bin 4! if you downgrade you get odin error and a softbrick!
Was checking if any comb. fw is available, but i find only paid files for your phone model!

It worked means you got your phone back to normal or you could get the firmware using samfirm?
Pit file is always inside csc file on a 4 files fac firmware. Use the pit on firmware because the pit from your link can be from a early version of android and have different bits for partition sizes!
EDIT: Here, got the combination fw for the binary 4. IF your phone is already ok, don't use this!

I have the same problem on my j2 prime I can only goto download mode and in odin tried to install stock firmware but got write fail..can you please help me with this error

[HOT] Way, to install J730FM Oreo 8.1.0 on J730F.

Hi! I found a way, to install J730FM official stock Oreo ROM, on J730F.
Everything working fine. Sorry for my little bit bad english.
Code:
I am not responsible for bricked devices and other things, created after using this flahing method.
a) Flash Oreo 8.1.0 (SER) stock ROM using Odin, without bootloader file, but use PIT file from attached files.
- View attachment J7Y17LTE_EUR_OPEN.zip
b) In the end of flashing, you get a error with radio (or something similar). Just unplug USB cable, and turn off the phone using combination buttons (VOL- + POW) - press both for many seconds. Now turn the device into download mode once time more.
b) Flash custom recovery using odin. Recommended a Mohi's1117 TWRP from link below.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7-2017/development/recovery-t-r-p-3-2-1-0-t3751717
c) Okay. After flashing, just restart phone, and let boot to system. Everything should working. If not, just flash ROM from link below, and try everything from this tutorial again.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7-2017/development/rom-j5-pro-rom-j730xx-t3838073

here is the simple way to get pit file ( i have also got) from firmware package
1) extract firmware package
2) find package with name " CSC_ODD_J730GMODD3ARF3_CL13775238_QB18498802_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5"
3) rename it CSC.tar
