About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first created based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean because of curiosity. In the early days, it was just a one man show on one device (EVO 3D). However, many others have joined the project since and it has grown a lot. We have seen a wide variety of talent contribute to this project of ours and many of our contributors have gone on to help other projects, and that is ultimately why we do what we do.
Once Jelly Bean was over, we decided in Kitkat to move to a new base, which was OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting because it challenged us to see what we could with something different.
With Lollipop, we have moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. With that said, it has been an awesome learning experience and it's still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward.
Few more things we will say is that we don't accept nor ask for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc.....
All we do ask is that you search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

Dirty Unicorn For " Android One "
Do you have any ideas to build a rom for the android one device im just curious to try the rom in the device, there are people more curious than me to try it ....please if you can build it Would be awesome :good: :good: Megatron007

@Megatron007 - Nice ROM but I found few bugs.
1. Recents button is not responsive. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't.
2. SystemUI crashes after applying a theme and rebooting. Seems like a permissions issue after reading the logcat. I've attached the logcat for you to debug. Here - https://copy.com/WFBAj1RRupilM8eG

I have seen people reporting about audio playback issues on other 5.1.1 ROMs , does this build have that issues ??!!

No, audio works perfectly.
Though there are other bugs like recent button being a little unresponsive and I faced SysUI crashes after applying a theme.

Great work brother!

@Megatron007 Just installed DU and it's AWESOME but the navbar, I have to repeatedly hit back or home. Recents too. That and the screen flickers while setting the DSP Manager.
It seems better than Cyanogenmod lol great work!!!!

Great job on the ROM ,been running all day and its very smooth. Are you trying to get DU official? Keep it up,nice work

k, and second question. which do i download? Clear or not clear? what's the difference?
I have tried about 10 times to download the gapps but it times out everytime.
Edit: Its the weirdest thing. I cant understand it.

question. does this build not have nfc support?
EDIT:
Flashlight function is messed up.
Flashlight apparently doesnt like to be turned off and when trying to turn it off lags the phone for a while.
NFC doesnt turn on.
Happened to me, dont know if it happened to anyone else but the screen's color inverted for a bit until i turned the screen off and back on.
Havent tested bluetooth fully but apparently when starting the phone up or rebooting and turning bluetooth on, a message box came up saying bluetooth share has stopped but hasnt said anything else about that after 2 or 3 times.
EDIT2:
Apparently some issues with cellphone service for Virgin Mobile. Data works fine though, dont know about 4g...
EDIT3:
So yea, some issues but does run quite smoothly.
Apparently i cant restore some apps onto the phone via titanium backup, though i was trying to restore virgin mobile specific stuff...
Any plan for UL build? Thanks JMZ!

This was the same issue I had. Calls and texting would not work at first. Went into settings/cellular networks/preferred network type and if I select 1x then 3g or global cell service starts working. Eventually it stops working and so fiddling with the preferred network setting mostly gets it to turn back on.
Also even underclocked it runs pretty hot and a few random restarts. Other than this it runs nicely.
Is there anything we can do to assist you @jmz ?

Camera
How about the camera in new build?
I am having issues mounting my /system volume. I've tried clicking on "mount" and making sure System is mounted.
Mount: failed to mount /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system at /system: No such file or directory
unmount of /system failed: no such volume
I am using TWRP v2.8.7.1
Edit: There is no "by-name" folder located in msm_sdcc.1. I only see "by-num".
--Created a /by-name/system
The new error is: Mount: failed to mount /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system at /system: Block device required
failed to open /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system at /system: Is a directory
Hoping for a zara ul build..........
Camera
camera does not work :crying:
Camera
I install last weekly build, camera more stable bot not yet for daily driver, i use Dirty for my lg optimus g and its awesome, but for this freaky phone i think never will be stable rom.
Somebody tried last weeklies build?
I suppose to install DU TPO gapps after installing the rom but which du tpo, the du tpo or the du tpo clear? Tia
Forget it, this rom is for cl, I have the ul.
Well, if you find a CL variant, get the latest version of gapps. The difference between the normal and clear versions is indicated in the very description itself, albeit a little unclear...
The "clear" version is just the same, but instead of a color theme for the Google apps, the backgrounds are clear so that you can see whatever is running right underneath. Purely cosmetic.
I am trying to flash the gapps provided by the du website both of the tbo clear and just tbo gapps, and even the banks dynamic version that's there. I am using flyhalfs twrp recovery and I always end in error when flashing the gapps no matter which one I use. It always ends saying error in update script - wrong cpu architecture...? The rom will flash fine but the gapps never do its always error wrong cpu architecture..... Anybody have a idea why that would be happening? Thanks in advance for any input.

I'm getting a FC from the theme chooser, what gives?
This is due to restoring data/apps from Google. Go ahead and clear data and cache for theme chooser and theme provider then reboot you should be good moving forward.
I changed my LCD density and now the navbar looks weird, what gives?
This is currenly an issue that we are aware of and addressing. For now after you changed density reset navbar layout or stay on the stock density.

The old M7 is still kicking
#StayDirty
Best rom for MM. I am using it for last 3 month from test build onwards. Whenever I tried for other roms, I stayed for one or two days and return to this rom for its smooth performance and battery life. I like those DU features pulse, fling & theme tiles also.
Even though I am tracking this rom in gplus community, since I don’t have gplus account, I can’t able to thank Mr. Daniel Johansson and DU team on that forum.
Thank you very much for bringing this awesome rom to M7 and posting it on Xda (even some of you hate Xda!)
@danjull
No mention of camera issues in op. Do we take it for granted this has the same issues as every other mm ROM in that respect?
Does this rom have the camera FC issue found on other MM builds for the m7? also are there any wake gestures incorporated into the kernel?
Camera fc issue is present, kernel is pretty much stock so no wake features.

Is the camera force close bug an issue with all MM roms on the m7? I'm aware that using 3rd part apps can fix it, but none of the available ones are as clean as the stock MM camera app.
I see this issue on pretty much all the roms, and it is a dealbreaker, because I can live without wake gestures, but not without a camera... Is there an inherent reason for the bug to do with the m7, or is it something that just hasent been fixed yet?

This rom is fast, stable and great on battery life. Too bad newest snapchat doesnt work on in. I'd be happy if you'd fix it
Great work guys.

Sent from my HTC One M7 powered by Dirty Unicorns

The only problem left is the Contacts for the hell of it refused to connect to my Google/gmail account (While everything else, including Play Market/Inbox/Gmail/G+, are working fine.)
Will try Open GApps but I'm not holding my breath.
Anyone have better idea?
@ thinkingrobot,
I read somewhere in GPlus community that Banks gapps supports twrp recovery 3.0.0 and above. If you are using older version of twrp, you may get issues.
I am not using any gapps now,but I used slim gapps once and had no issues.

I'm using TWRP 3.0.0.2 so that's not an issue. thanks.
On my progress:
Installed Open GApps stock version, still have the Contacts issue.
Trying to remove my main Google Account and add it back, it have been successfully removed, but now I can't add it back, it always failed after I entered password and Authenticator code, said something "Unknown Error happened"

Wiped and Re-flashed with the ROM and Open GApps 6.0 stock 2016-05-14 version. Can't add a new Google Account (everything ok until the last step said "There seems to be a problem"), so I'm about to accept the fact Contacts is not working and restoring my previous Google Accounts using Titanium Backup. The after few reboots and I found the accounts now in the Contacts app after few force sync of contacts, my Gmail contacts started to show up in Contacts app

[AOSP] Dirty Unicorns V10.5 r62 - MT6592
About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days -- it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and gained contributors in the process. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew further with experience and learned a lot more along the way.
It has been an awesome learning experience and it's still not over! We are still learning, striving to grow each day, and continuing to move forward. Lastly, weDO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We do not believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going comes out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. All that we do ask is that you have patience, search for answers prior to posting, read, and try to enjoy the process with us!!

About Project:
Citrus-CAF, unlike the name suggests, was initially based off CyanogenMod, in the early days of Marshmallow, we even had another name at that point. Later, taking into consideration feedbacks of the very first slew of testers and carefully studying the needs and demands of our users, we rebased the project to Code Aurora Sources, more commonly known as CAF. Time went by and Nougat released, and we decided that it was time, Citrus-CAF had to see the daylight. We rebased everything to the brank spanking Nougat released. Later we realized the true potential of CAF tags, how each of them altered the device performance on different SOCs. After a lot of thinking, we decided to keep different sources for difference SOCs in our git and hours of debugging later, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 was the first device to get a taste of our Tangy Nougat. In the beginning, it was just two people behind , but in time, a lot of people joined us, as each giving their own contibutions.
Citrus-CAF was built to create an amazing combination of customization, performance and most of the demanded features by our users, whereas we've Cardinal, to deliver minimal customizations, but the greatest stability!
Meanwhile, all of our Tangy sources are publicly available on our Github. We also do own a Google+ Community, where you can.... uhm... you know, do what all others do at forums and communities! (Just kidding, we got builds over there and a feature-wish bucket too ) Hope you enjoy your stay and taste the Tanginess of our work!
Out of lemon, with love!
NOTE: There's nothing like, "we've decided to keep the customizations minimum, so as to provide stock AOSP experience, but with necessary features", cause this isn't Cardinal. This is Citrus

Please bring the hardware key customizations ASAP. And also it would be great if the double tap to wake is fixed. It's displaying in display options but not working. Besides these , the ROM is great. It has the fastest boot time and very smooth too.

Are there any issues with Bluetooth disconnecting such as with smart watches?
Not sure. I don't have a smartwatch, but I do use YouTube to stream music every single time I drive anywhere with no issues

The problem with all the aosp roms I've tried is that I can listen to music perfectly with no Bluetooth issues but as far as once I stop and the only connection is the smart watch Bluetooth turns off and on. Doesn't matter if the watch is android or Tizen based. I'll try it and see what happens. Last question which I'm sure will be asked, are we able to record video with no issues? (Last aosp/lineage based roms had that issue.)

Doesn't matter if the watch is android or Tizen based. I'll try it and see what happens. Last question which I'm sure will be asked, are we able to record video with no issues? (Last aosp/lineage based roms had that issue.)

The only camera issues i've had are once in a blue moon, the picture will be fully green, and sometimes autofocus is weird. No recording issues that I can tell

I'm on ls9997/sprint. I was able to get sms and calls working by restoring my efs from my backup. I had to go through the setup first and then booted into recovery and restored efs only. That got it working
