Alcatel One Touch Upgrade Tool (Revives dead phones) - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After successfully rooting my first Android, I got excited and jumped ahead of myself and indulged into Xposed and then after Gravity Bomb. Just so all OT users know Gravity Bomb will most likely put your phone in to a boot loop!!
After surfing the net I came across a post on another forum by a user named 'Brka' and he educated me on a this tool. To quote him,
Hello all,
in order to keep this section clean, this is the starting point that will (in most cases),
fix your problem, and stop repeatedly asked question, like :
- How to reset my blocked counter ?
- I have a dead phone/tablet, what to do first ?
- My phone doesn't power on, what to do ?
- Please, I need firmware for OT-XXXX Model !
Now, for beginning, some explanation :
Alcatel (TCL) already thought about many user problems that can arise,
like screwed android system (ROM), dead phones, etc,
and gave a solution for fixing most common errors, mentioned above,
called ONE TOUCH UPGRADE a.k.a. O.T.U.
All you need to do is check your model, sometimes you can use model written on sticker,
like ot-985, or M'Pop (ot-5020) etc. (If it's branded model like IDEA Aurus - it's ot-985N),
and download corresponding One Touch Upgrade tool, via "googling" for that model,
or via search on official (or country-dependant) Alcatel site - EXAMPLE for OT-985
Now, after you downloaded and installed OTU, charge your battery,
use classic micro-usb cable and revive your phone, by following what OTU says.
OTU will install drivers, and after you plug your powered off phone,
it will found new hardware (Virtual USB COM Port), so it may give error at first try,
just simply repeat process, it will do it's job, and (hopefully), bring it back to life.
Some nice things that OTU will do for you : (all of them at once)
- It WILL bring your phone back to life (if software problem)
- It WILL FULLY RESET ALL User Data !!!
- It WILL Return Phone to Stock state, in case you used custom rom.
- It WILL Remove User/PIN/Google/Pattern Lock
- It WILL reset unlock codes counter (too many tries)
I hope all is clear now, regarding this case.
Posts containing mentioned requests for ROM's can be posted just and ONLY
in case you have ALREADY tried things from this post,
else it will be deleted / moved to trash.
This thread will also contain successful done phones via this method, to eliminate
the forum space / confusion.
wish you luck with dead phones,
b.r.
Alex

So if you didn't back up your phone properly and can't figure out how to reinstall the STOCK ROM, find the O.T.U. Tool on Alcatel's support website and you should be fine.

Excuse me po, can I use this even for alcatel idol 3 dead phone?

[Q] Vodafone smart II 2 Root + Customized ROMs

Hi XDA,
Just got my self another android phone. It's Vodafone smart II 2 running Android 2.3.7. I found it hard to root using z4root or superoneclick... Anyway did somebody root this phone yet? Is there customized ROMs for this phone? I was messing with this phone and at least I found how to get into recovery ---> Volume up + Power It looks like it has Alcatel one touch hardware I think.... So help me to root this phone please Can I upgrade this to Android 4 ICS?
14/06/2012 - Update 1: I tried the universal androot from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=747598"] But did NOT
work it has been used to root Alcatel OT-981
- Update 2: I tried the same method used to root Alcatel One Touch Glory 918N from this link http://jcyberinux.com/rjdreyes/how-to-
root-alcatel-one-touch-glory-918n.html BUT I did NOT get anywhere
- Update 3: I tried different superuser.zip files and tried to install from recovery BUT unsuccessful
- Update 4: I tired to install Marina ROM for Alcatel OT990 downloaded from the following link http://forum.xda-developers.com
/showthread.php?t=1556460 But failed to finish the process, the result the phone would NOT reboot. So I had
to restore it.
Is anybody else working on this?

Thanks! I've been trying to understand how android devices work since this is my first one and was about to ask you how you have managed to restore your phone after your little accident with it not booting.
Now I read the you have managed to root it!
My main objective is to update some custpack applications with newer versions and remove others. I'll wait for your youtube tutorial.
By the way, I just came across a link to the kernel sources from Alcatel:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/alcatel/files/
I got it from another thread here at xda and it was nice to find out that the Vodafone Smart II is there!

The tutorial is now available on Youtube under the title How to root Vodafone Smart 2 II it's Published on 17 Jun 2012 by bassalh2025.
XDA would NOT let me to post outside links cause I have less than 10 posts.
To restore it Boot into recovery then choose backup & restore It's an easy process anyway. I suggest to make a backup first just in case if you have an accident like I did with Marinia ROM then it can solve the problem in the future cause as far as I know there is no ROMs available yet for Vodafone smart 2
Splendid! After rooting it I have already managed to update Gmail, Twitter, Facebook and OfficeSuite without wasting precious memory. I simply replaced the /custpack/app versions with the new ones, reboot, et voilá!
Thanks for the root method!
Hello,
Can you please explain how to recover if phone it is stuck on boot ?
Now just Android image it is displayed on phone and can't enter to boot menu with Power ON + Volume UP buttons.
I jut tried to make backup with CWM got error and now phone it is stuck on boot.
If I connect to USB on PC it prompt for driver but can't find yet any compatible to try fastboot.
thank you.
Freeze
Hello,
I have the same problem aswell, do you know exactly the cause of your issue? i think mine is that i used SUPERRECOVERY (a program for another android phone) that messed up my soft and i cannot boot to the RECOVERY mode, key combinations aren't working and i get stuck at green android image logo so i have to remove the battery every time ... Did the root work for you? i presume you rooted your phone before you tried to backup the CWM ? PS: i tried to ROOT my phone with that program SUPERRECOVERY, that is why i messed up my soft, did not had a chance to try the root method provided on this thread ...Vodafone Smart 2 here.
Hi,
I had no chance to root the phone, just made backup and after that I try to make backup with CWM and this one killed the phone.
Now I have backup files *.img but I can't find a solution to program this files.
I try to connect to PC but no drivers are found for this device even I try to point to drivers from phone SD card.
It look's like I need drivers for VID_0A5C&PID2132 to try to flash my recovery.img with sw from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1144773
but I can't find it.
But how did you even manage to use ClockWorkMod because this program can't be used unless your phone is rooted, and what was the point in making a backup with that CWM if the phone already has the Alcatel recovery v1.0.0.0. preinstalled.
I had no idea that CWM will kill the phone if used on Alcatel V860 / Vodafone Smart 2, I just wanted to be sure I have 2 backup source... now I have one backup & one bricked phone that I did not even turned ON to see the menu how it looks... and 2 years Vodafone contract
Anyway, i had mine returned to the Vodafone center i bought it from, i will tell you how much they had my phone in service, but i am pretty sure by tomorrow or tuesday it will be back in my pocket it is pretty wierd because CWM is an app from Google play (android market) ... in my case i have no doubt that the program i used was made especially for noobs like me to use and Brick my phone ) Again that program that bricked my phone is called : SuperRecovert NOT Superrecovery, i made a mistake the first time sry ...
Look's like my phone will also go to Vodafone service because I can't find available any info, drivers or program to flash this Alcatel V860 phone... it's to new.
Yes, it's the best solution for now ... they will solve the problem pretty fast i'm sure ... we gotta' pay more attention next time
does the battery life is also bad for you?
for me it drains 1% for every 1 minute of calls...
Battery drain problem appear after you Root the phone or it is "feature" from new ?

Mine last about 3 days with normal use: About 1 hour with wifi on maybe playing media for few minutes + Few phone calls + few texts /1day and I always have my phone powered off at night about 7 to 8 hours and I always use 2G GSM + killing the Apps running in the back ground with Task killer.... And I have it rooted for a couple of days now. Usually the smart phones battery doesn't last so long unlike the old Nokia.
I noticed the battery capacity for this phone is only 1200mAh!!!! It is actually ok cause it's not 700mAh, but you get what you pay for in the end of the day it is a cheap phone. I knew that there is what they called Gold battery but this is for the previous Vodafone smart phones the Huawei versions with 2430mAh for something like 13pounds this can last for about one week with normal use.
@bassalh123
i followed your guide and working fine. thank you.
Parents got one of these and lot of crap on it also Volume very low
Cannot access you tube but is the root message extracting file to phone and then using file manager to run it or is it via Odin?
When rooted can the volume be increased and can Titanium be installed to remove all the crap also can the start up vodafone splash screen be removed
Thanks

Hi Mr Irish man,
In one word Rooting android gives you access to system files. So you can uninstall pre-installed Apps like Vodafone music ... Some Apps maybe needed by the operating system so don't uninstall them!!! so be careful.
Refer to Youtube video and learn how to root your vodafone smart 2 it's under the title how to root vodafone smart 2 II

Flash, Re-install or what?

Hi,
I'm a new member here.
8 months ago, I purchased two "Samkimoke T710 LA-I" Android phones. It has Spreadtrum SC6820, Mail 300 GPU, 256 MB RAM, MTK6517, Camera (idk spec needed for driver? I guess).
(I know the above from an App I installed in another T710 mobile.)
The OS was said to be "4.0.2" in 'About Device', i personally think it's Android GingerBread though.
Today, I got a miss call, and after that I just pushed the Power button (to turn the display off), it did so. Now the thing does NOT start, no display while charging.
I've googled a LOT, I tried other batteries, connected mobile to USB and then inserted battery, as was said online, nothing came, I also tried Volume buttons + Power button, and also charge to Power Outlet trick. Nothing worked.
After that I went to a local repair shop, after checking it he said the phone does boot, but is not starting (i think he was referring to it's ROM), he said "he would try to re-install a software", from what I understood, he wanted to flash it or something.
So the questions are:
1. Was my phone "dead" or "hard brick" with OUT any problem/s (just out of nowhere) ?
2. Can i flash it (or even any "hard brick" Android device) myself, and expect it to work? If yes, how?
3. Where can i find a custom ROM this manufacturer used (or it's alternative)? What tool should i use to Flash?
(i guess, personally, driver issue will arise in these cases) I checked the Samkimoke DOT com website, their service is available in China only, and NO Email given for me to ask question about their custom ROM)
Thank you ...
(You can say I'm too greedy to forget that .. i can't throw a device that was working in the morning, and that's just 8 months old )
What's happening here?
I left it for the shop to flash (I've never flashed an Android before), and also since it's Chinese Android - I was unsure of the ROM. So he said he tried to flash it (or flashed it) but it still isn't booting!
Back home, I pressed the Power Button, and I noticed this.
http:\\i.share.pho.to/e7653bef_o.png
1. Before Pressing Power Button
2. After Pressing Power Button (the display starts, as if trying to display something)
3. The display fading away (back to off state -- state 1)
4. Back to State 1
All this happens within a second. Is the phone trying to launch the ROM and not finding it or something? Does the above mean it's not the Hardware issue?
I downloaded the MTK Droid Tool and it does NOT show any info, it doesn't detect it at all.
What should I do in such cases?
Thanks ....
Umm.. Am I posting this in the wrong forum section or something?

i don't think this is your fault, its just the faulty Chinese firmware is terribly developed and half of the time this happens to all Chinese phones. they decide not to work anymore or the usb drivers decide to not like your computer anymore. if there is not life from the device (no boot, no recovery) then its hard bricked. the only why you could fix it is using a jtag and finding the firmware online for your specific device and using that to write the Firmware back onto your device. but that can cost lots of moola $.

Sounds like a hard brick to me, too. Since you didn't "tweak" the phone in any way, it's not your fault. You can do only 2 things: either go to another service shop and ask for repair, or find a toolkit and the necessary firmware files to flash it on your own. From what you're describing, it seems like the firmware is all messed up.
Okay, thank you .. and I didn't tweak it, it just simply stopped working.

Where can I find/buy this thing called jtag? Or is it simply the same thing as "jig"? If not, How much would it cost?
Since I bought two of them, I have another T710 mobile (same manufacturer) working with me. I'm kinda scared for it too, should I use CWM or something and back it up right now?
Back to the topic, the working mobile has MTK6515 (as opposed to MTK6517 that the damaged one has), can I still backup/extract the image of one to use in the damaged Android phone?
Thank you ...
So, i was inserting and ejecting this device back and forth, and this time, the device decided to show up in the Device Manager, At 1st, it showed up in the Other Devices, then under the "USB Controllers" as "Unknown Device":
http:\\i.share.pho.to/80f316eb_o.png
It was still not showing up in the MTK Droid Tools, although i had installed already MTK65xx drivers. Then i installed the SpreadTrum Phone Driver, and after connecting the device, i pressed Power + Volume [+] button, and it showed up under USB Controllers as "SPRD COM Enumerator".
http:\\i.share.pho.to/3001fb77_o.png
At first, it said "The device is working properly":
http:\\i.share.pho.to/1ad975d3_o.png
And then it refreshed again and said "The device cannot start":
http:\\i.share.pho.to/dd9ee409_o.png
So this means my phone is SpreadTrum phone so maybe that's why it did not show up in MTK Droid Tools?
Which Programs are available to backup and flash Spreadtrum phones?
Thank you. .....
EDIT: I pressed the Power button in my other t710 phone, and it also does the same blinking as the damaged one does. So that means the phone was, i guess, testing if it's "on" and should display or something, and since it has no contents or has, as a member pointed out, a damaged firmware, it's not working properly..

a Usb jig and a JTag/Riff box are a little different. usb jigs are used for only samsung to force the device into download mode, otherwise known as a easy way to get into download mode. the Jtag and riff box's attach pins to Certain parts of a phone or another device and it Write firmware onto that device since its corrupt or does not want to turn on. these can cost up from $100-200, i would just get another phone my friend .
So, although it shows under Device Manager, I'm already screwed with this device? Can I not flash it by using a Computer?
Thank you ..

Nope, from what i understand when a device is hard bricked or you have nothing showing, the OS is corrupt and that means the USB drivers are Screwed up so it wont recognize your device.
Hmm ... I have flashed it a couple of times, and it's not starting because I don't have the right ROM It gives the usual short vibration when I press power button to start it. The screen is not displaying anything, as expected. and there is no light.
The device is SpreadTrum and the screen size is 4.3 inch, the roms I downloaded either seem to be that for 3.5 inch or 5 inch
1. Is there something like Custom Barebone ROM which will "work on any device"? OR at least compatible ROM?
[ I purchased the phone for 5860, "repairing" it will cost me 1500 So I'm trying to not go to the repair shop. ]
--------------------------------------------
2. I rooted my working phone with vroot, and used adb to backup the images, the total size is 309 MB, trying to flash it in my device, it's giving me "Failed: Download size is over it's partition" error or "Failed: Operation Failed" error.
Regardless of which FDL.bin file I use, my PAC always gives errors. And those that I download from the web flash fine.
(I'm using ResearchDownload -> Packet option, it makes the PAC file, but the flashing process always results in errors.)
Is there some proper Guide to make the PAC file?
Thanks ...

[Q] No.1 X2 - root problems

Hi everyone,
I bought a No.1 X2 (001mobilephone) about 3 months ago, I have tried every version I can of PC > Phone rooting software and .apk's plus tried using a few similar tools that use ADB. (inc kingoroot, kingroot (chinese), SRS, oneclickroot, towel, androidroot, etc)
I cannot get the phone rooted and I do not want to wait, phone-less, for a month (at least a month to send to the manufacturer who was supposed to have rooted before it was shipped - and who knows if they will send it again without root).
the phone (may?) seams to have partial root, when i installed led manager, and have since done a wipe, the led settings seamed to have stayed with my custom email and other notification colours.
Specs/software is:
Qualcomm MSM8916
android 4.4.4
Kernal 3.10.28

Hi, same phone, same problem. The above site might be interesting for you. No.1 supplies Qualcomm software and the phone's firmware with a tutorial to root. I succeeded in putting firmware on a bricked X2, but still did not get root access. But I am a newby, so give it a try. Good luck
UNBRICK no.1 x2 using original ROM
Thanks for this, i now have access to the ROM, and if you can understand the instructions its possible to install the ROM again.
I just did this today, however its partially rooted, as was my phone when I received the X2.
I need to now try to use kitchen and a bunch of other tools as described here to try and install Su and/or root the rom: en.miui.com/thread-21539-1-1.html
if i am sucessful i will post instructions, for now here are clear instructions on how to (should work as tested on my x2) unbrick X2 with this software.
1. download this: "ht tps: SLASH SLASH drive DOT google DOT com SLASH file SLASH d SLASH 0ByeMRyNUHsNRdGc0Qk1jQlJIb3c SLASH view" (i have less than 10 posts so cannot type full url, replace SLASH SLASH with // and DOT with .)
2. extract the rar (download trial of winrar or similar to extract (noobs))
3. launch the setup.exe from the folder you extracted too. (remember where it is installed)
4. extract the X2.rar to a folder (new folder on desktop or my docs)
5. right click (win 7, 8 10) and run as admin (the installed program from desktop called "QMSCT")
6. open the "setup" menu in QMSCT and click "configuration"
7. make settings look like the picture in: "ht tp s: SLASH SLASH drive . google . com SLASH file SLASH d SLASH 0B2M8OmUI5XS-SGtudHYwS0tLZGc SLASH view?usp=sharing"
all check boxes and fixed options must be identical, i have highlighted red
8. insert (red again) the file names shown in the picture (they will be in the original extracted rar where you launched the setup program or in the directory you installed to).
9. in the bottom field locate the folder where you extracted the x2.rar, this folder location is the folder you must browse to and select in the bottom of the settings screen. Only care about the red markings i made, i will now tell you below how to get the information you cannot change yet in the settings.
10. first SAVE, exit the settings, then exit program.
11. plug in no.1 X2 Mobile, while phone on hold power until options appear, then hit restart, before it turns off and vibrates, hold down both volume buttons and then also press and hold power... do'nt let go until phone vibrates and turns on to a blank screen... sometimes it will restart, just do it over again and again until it boots up blank (screen has lit up back/grey)
12. when screen blank windows will install driver. NB: Unfortunatly i had issues here and it took a windows 10 tech preview install 10041 build x64 to do this, however it did not get fiddly i just had to try xppro, win 10x64 on a laptop and then my desktop to work it out, also I was following chinese instructions that had been translated and were not perfect to begin with. So any win 7, xp or 8 might need to source which driver to install from no.1. Windows 10 tech preview is free and can be put on another partition easily if you search (noob) on xda or google i am sure someone will have covered it.
13. unplug phone, launch QMSCT again as admin, go into settings and click "Start setup process" then click ok on dialogue box. now plug in phone and hold vol buttons again, then power and hold all 3 down until it reboots into the blank screen. if all works a port will be found (1-8 i think i saw in my many attempts) once it has found it and you see the information on the screen look similar to my screen shot, click on save. note your port will maybe differ, and if it does not work, restart application and phone again and repeat. when it saves, exit configuration, exit application and then you need to restart application
14. if all is right, plug in phone, hold the 3 buttons in order again, and the application will start flashing it. DONT UNPLUG UNTIL RED OR GREEN shown in app.
RED=fail - go back through my instructions and the supplied "flash tutorial.docx" in the RAR (you extracted this at the begining - the pictures may help more than the instructions they gave)
GREEN=Woohoo! all done, unplug phone and do the power button combo, it will restart (might need to do combo a few times)
NB: settings stay the same once this application is set up, so you do not need to go through all again in future, just launch app and then plug in phone and do 3 button combo.
I hope this helps, if you are good with CUSTOM ROM creation, feel free to see if you can get this rom rooted and flashed and tell me/readers of this forum... if anyone wants a real challenge, root this rom, make the kernal 64bit and not 32bit and then post here.... this is what I want to do eventually if i can work it out.
good luck any bricked x2 owners

Ok so if you are still bricked (as I temp was) use this program: qtadb . wordpress . com SLASH download.
it fixed my x2 which was in boot loop, could not use adb or the flash program to even see it, win 10 was not recognising anything driver wise.
just extract from the x2.rar with all the boot img etc: boot.img and recovery.img
locate most recent android sdk/platform tools folder when asked for it
click on the corresponding "flash recovery" in qtadb and locate the extracted image, do the same with the boot img tab and find your boot img
that's the order i did it in, i may have reset phone between them and cleared cache by holding vol+ and power and using boot loader. I had installed an msm8916 file to root, that apparently does not... ah well we live and learn.
looking for solution to turn that x2.rar into a rom.zip as kitchen does not work with it. maybe im doing something wrong?
anyway phone on again so the search continues...
X2 missfunctions.

I attached a Word Document with information and questions about this X2 device, which is too hard to recover to update ... and an buch of missfunction. ( camera error : can't connect to the camera; 4G LTE does not function, only 3g; battery life normal as 2000 mAh; )
I expect your answer or comments very soon.

X2 reset successfuly - EASY way
I attach PDF files with instructions to reset the phone X2.
I expect very soon someone help us to ROOT it !!!!
Best Regards.
help!!
Hi
This forum is the closest thing I have found which might help me in my problem to fix my 1 week old X2.
I really enjoyed using it - I got it 2 weeks ago - and it was working fine for all the week then last weekend I had a few apps running and the screen froze. I rebooted the phone but it just stayed black and never came on again. It is a stock standard phone - and it has not been rooted or modified in any way. Someone suggested removig the battery then refitting it.
How is that done?
Is that a good thing to do?
What else can I try?
Has anybody any idea on what might have caused this?
I'm stuck!

Hi,
I have one as well: it is indeed fun to play with but it is not reliable. I had multiple issues with it in the past months. Therefor my advice is: send it back and claim your guarantee (especially if you want to use it as your primary phone). Otherwise use the unbrick advice from markatkins earlier in this thread (but you have to feel secure with android)
good luck

Looks like I have to pay a premium on the freight via courier to get it back to China. The local postal service won't take it because it contains a (non-removable) Lithium battery.. I'm not sure about unbricking it as it seems it is a very complicated process - and seeing that it seems completely dead -(not any signs of life, no lights, no screen) do you thnk it is just a matter of a firmware reset? If I attempt to unbrick it - I lose the warranty right?
So my best bet I think is to depart with several tens of dollars for the freight and demand a replacement that will not bug out inside 2 weeks.
issue, try this

Look I had this issue regarding dead and not turning on... sometimes charging it for several hours and it would just come back to life, i believe it is a battery issue, reading battery (stock rom) and when it may say 15% for example, the battery is actually empty and it dies, the charging should make display turn on but does not for a long, long time.
if this does not work, hold down vol up or vol down plus power button, this can breath life into it (sometimes both up and down plus power) remember press all at exactly same time and hold for 10 seconds at least for reset (unless it comes back before 10 seconds)
been a while since i held my phone so check top of page for my instructions as it is in there
best of luck

Nice work
you need to install all ports to make this work well... i am going off memory from over 2 months ago but if you can revisit my instructions and check how many ports i have to setup, it should get you a green light, i could see an error in a photo at bottom of word... something about ports, this may confirm my theory.
I will answer all the questions soon, once I have a phone in my hand (give me 2 weeks, and tinker while you wait )
hope this helps

just do what I did, post and tell them battery removed (tick the plane and ship boxes - should be on form for international post)
I looked up why battery is now banned, its stupid... thanks to the more dangerous li-pol battery types, starting fires in planes and stuff like exploding, the air transport authority decided to ban the li-pol (explodes and loads of fires every year) and in that they included the more reliable (not dangerous and very few accidents worldwide) li-ion which is what is in your phone... so batterys in general.
play dum, say no battery in phone and tick that box for sea/ship shipping
remember this is a 80 degree c proof phone, pressure proof and should be able to contain the fire, but a fire wont start...
otherwise pay AUD100 (convert to GBP or USD for a similar horrific amount no one should pay)
if your phone does explode or cause a fire in transit... i am not accountable, you do this at your own risk and risk of being fined etc blah blah... read about % of fires from li-pol and li-ion, you will see the chance is slim, slimmer once sealed in a phone that will give it a heat proof case to try and get past plus minimal air to fuel a fire... good luck fixing or sending
I found an app called KINGROOT and worked like a charm. It rooted my No.1 Xmen X2 with just one click, it even fix the Kitkat SD write problem in the process.
I had to erase the SD card after the rooting process for the fix to work and after the root, had to reboot the phone 2 times. Everything is working super fine so far. Hope this work for everyone!

Is GPS working?

I have just tested the newest software from kingroot as advised released by denispunk, I am amazed as I only downloaded the previous version a few weeks ago, no luck with the old version of "new_kingroot...", however I may be in a slightly different position to others as my phone seams to have an issue locked in (despite flashing and wipe of partition) where it has a partial root access of some form, so trying this now......................
Tried 2 times and failed, I want to ask all reading this to please download (rename from .zip to .apk) and attempt root on their x2 or x6800. if you fail click on the huge submit button as I have been doing this for some time in the hope that they would see demand and accelerate the process of making a workaround.
For all looking (that search for root x6800 online ) this should work the same % for anyone with the no.1 x6800 and the x2 [I have the X2 and got money back from insurance claim, so I also have x6800 on the way ] because the x2 and x6800 are the same rom from what I have researched, the only difference is the micro sd capacity, the 4g bands supported and a huge 6000mha battery in the x6800. most components otherwise are identical.
All reading please have a go...
if you are reading this you have an x2 or x6800 or know someone who does...
if your not very experienced or if you are experienced in ROM work, try point 1 and then try point 2 below, but please just do point 1 if nothing else
1) email No.1 and "beg" for a android 5.0/64bit kernel ROM for the x2 and x6800 to be released - I have done this and want to encourage you all to help me force the company to meet consumer demand, by setting a consumer demand. This 64bit update would increase the phones potential as it has a 64bit CPU, it currently runs 32 bit software which is slowing it down.
once done read point 2
2) I wanted to see if some experienced persons could visit the en.no1phone.cc site and download the M2 firmware (not a spelling mistake) as this device and the x2 use the same unusual ROM's which look similar in layout. my hope is we can bind parts from the 2 ROM's together to get a 64bit android version onto the x2/x6800... please understand I do know this will need work and will most likely not work ever but with the unique rom types I figure there is no harm in trying and someone might have the ability to open them and do some magic.
now the phones are physically different but No.1 use the same basic layout in their ROM's and the most basic possible stock android with nothing but background pictures added.
my hope, from what I can see in the files of the two ROM's, is that we can merge/build the OS, kernal and some of the information from the M2 ROM into the x2 ROM (I have supplied the x2 rom in the top of this post on page 1) and hope that its basic enough to maybe work with some tweaking, I know the CPU is different and that I am explaining this simply like a drag and drop, but if it does work we can get 64 bit software for our CPU's
if all else fails we can hope No.1 release what we ask for, and you can flash the original x2 rom back onto the device until they release it or someone on here gets through the ROMS and makes us our own.

Root worked
I finally sourced a slightly newer .apk and root worked. Kingroot will root no.1 x2 or no.1 x6800. So far used it to access battery stats with Xposed and installed one power guard to lower CPU speed to gain more battery. The device is very fluid still on 533mhz in power save CPU mode with I/O scheduler in "row"
I advise anyone looking for this phone rooted to visit the official www.kingroot.net site
Great news everybody, since my post asking for us to all send kingroot requests to support our device for root access, the number of requests jumped almost 30 points and they listened! Kingroot responded and now...
Kingroot.net will root the no.1 x2!
If you just landed here looking for the software to root the X2 or X6800 from No.1, please help us make this phone better, this forum helped get kingroot.net to enable root for the X2 so help us and say thank you by sending an email to no.1 regarding getting lollipop on the X2 and X6800.
You just need to...
Email: [email protected]
Skype: quecc1989
Or MSN: [email protected]
Ask for lollipop ROM to be made for the x2 and the x6800 and say it will make the phone faster and have a better battery life. Copy that if you like
Update on this: not only will the software give the phone a bit of a boost in power, it should improve battery life and I completely failed to mention before that we will have faster app boot times as well because we will get access to ART instead of Dalvik (Currently I cannot find a way to run ART in KitKat without factory resetting to get out of the nice boot loop it sticks me in).
For those unaware of what I am going on about, Dalvik is the runtime android is moving away from because it has to decompress each installed app before it runs, ART (android run time) installs app's already decompressed (more space used on install but fast launch). I find the x2's 8GB is plenty of internal space for applications so let's harass no.1 sales email and Facebook/twitter/google+until we get lollipop.
Official no.1 site is: http://en.001phone.cn
They use a picture for contact info but feel free to click on my links above for msn, Skype etc
Sorry if this was a ramble, but power of word is going to be easier than us taking and editing ROM's or making ROM's to get lollipop... If we harras them endlessly they will fold and build it for the phones and all it takes is one email each... Maybe a followup each too

I hope the same for the No.1 X6800
forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/root-1-x6800-rugged-ip-68-phablet-china-t3254950
Not much people know the No.1 smartphones (the rugged ones are awesome for the price).
Update: I rooted the No.1 X6800 with 'NewKingRoot v4.62' app and after that buy the Super-SuMe-pro' app to keep it 'trustfully rooted and with SuperSU'.
When device is off, and I press power button and volume up button. Then I get a bootloader that can boot from MicroSD card.
So place the compatible Rom on MicroSD and re flash it.
This works for me with original x6800 rom on my x6800 phablet.

[Q] Overwhelmed: Pop C1 custom ROM installation

Hiya
I have an Alcatel Onetouch Pop C1 4015D (and for the record, I'm never buying this brand or similar junk again). I just got it un-bricked after a few months thanks to the online USB firmware updater. It's currently in pretty much its factory-default state again, preinstalled crapware and all.
What I'd like to do is install a custom ROM on it, to have a clean system I can actually enjoy owning, e.g. AOSP (if that is what I think it is: the basic, clean Android system). The problem is that I'm getting a little overwhelmed with information, tutorials linking to more tutorials, tutorials linking to downloads for which I have to "complete a survey" and such (abort abort abort), 2 different tutorials for the same thing stating different ADB commands, a few outright scams, etc etc etc. There's tons of information out there, but 90% of it seems wrong, irrelevant, device-specific or otherwise unusable. I've already spent hours on this and still haven't gotten anywhere.
I'd be very grateful if someone actually reliable could walk me through the entire, correct process, please. :fingers-crossed:
I'm just going to write down the bits and pieces of info I already have:
I've already rooted it with Framaroot; no problems there, superuser works.
I've found this site that lists several ROMs, presumably specifically for the C1, including the standard ROM and a cleaned version: tinyurl dot com/o24wqoe. The AOSP one strikes my fancy and is on my SD card already.
The same site says I can just put the provided ROMs on my SD and install them as updates via stock recovery, but I highly doubt that because I read everywhere you specifically can't do that. Sounds like fake advice to me.
I'm told I'd need to unlock my bootloader, but once in fastboot/bootloader mode none of the offered fastboot unlock commands really do anything. The "..." appears in my console and then nothing.
I've tried installing TWRP and CWM recoveries, but you know, "your device is not supported". There's this video of a C1 with a custom recovery (watch?v=_TGgXIp3fWM) and the comments claim it's CTRecovery, but I can't even find anything about that. I already submitted requests for a fix for my device to twrp and cwm half a year ago before I bricked this thing, and one person promised he was gonna make a build for me, but nothing came from any of that.
I think that's just about all the useful things I can extract from this whole mess of information I have...
Please help me make sense of this overload of info and device-specific shenanigans, and walk me through what seems to be such a simple process for everyone with a mainstream device?
For the record, I'm back down to barely being up-to-date on what is what anymore. I'm more than familiar enough with the theoretical side (bootloaders, partitions, bios, etc) because of my heavy computer usage (professional programmer), but once I get into Android I'm just lost. All that fancy terminology nobody seems to bother to explain, things that are taken for granted but aren't really obvious (like a guy demonstrating the installation of a custom ROM, and only mentioning 10 minutes into the excessively long video that you need to install a custom this and custom that first), so many alternative methods for the same thing that have different dependencies (unlocking bootloader vs custom recovery), etc... I don't know anymore what's device-specific and what isn't, who is telling the truth, what a given tutorial is actually making me achieve in the end, etc. TL;DR I'm lost, I'm not stupid but I'm not gonna pretend to know anything about Android's subsystems anymore at this point.
wow u wrote a full post and u speaked for me as have the same problem
Custom recover
i have made a recovery for the 4015x
and got one of the roms to work
(and a fixed stock recovery)
there are 6 versions of this phone and at least two different partition tables that ive seen
but getting it back from softbrick id use the "mobile upgrade s 4.1.1" from the alcatel site
alcatel, mobiles, all mobiles, pop c1, support and on the right hand side down load the program and follow
this forces a stock rom back on the phone (no root and all data wiped)
im waighting on the mods to let me post links so i can host the roms and recoverys
but if you want to mess with the roms your self you can edit the partition tables and get the roms to install.
id use the app "diskinfo" to check what partitions your system and data etc etc are useing and chainge this in the roms.
hope this helped
p.s. if not i could poss look at editing the aosp rom for you and host if for a bit
just waighting on beeing able to post links :s
Alcatel onetouch c1 pop
MY PHONES flash light or led light comes on but it wont come on at all jus remains black wont start ....i tried restoring rom but ,it was useless ,well i used the upgrade tool and there wasnt the right models for my phone what should i do now .oh and also my phone has no stock rom from nowhere on google im so in need of getting back my phone .how can i fix a bricked or whatever phone its a alcatel one touch pop c1 4015a

[Q] [HELP NEEDED] Soft Bricked LG VS880(11b)

can you please help me with a soft unbricking of my lg g vista (vs880 [11b]) from verizon usa? i found the 880-11b firmware file, at least i think its the right one. if you know of/ come across this and are sure of its validity i would trust that more. i found and downloaded via a google search. i initially think i may have accidentally deleted the splash pic for the carrier when it boots. this caused it to just black screen after the lg logo n the backlight would flash like it was stuck in a boot loop just the image file was missing. after a little more research i figured out how to put it in the download mode so that i can use a pc to try repair or reinstall whatever it needs. i am unsure if i need the sdk or adk toolkits for a repair in the download mode to work. while on that screen it says its plugged in and waiting to download firmware via usb under the progress bar it tells me not to unplug until download is completed. its not showing up in "my computer" however. and i've never had to do s software/firmware download or setup when the phone wasn't in full normal working order. i simply want to put back the out of the box software back in place. firmware 88011b and 4.4.2 os. just want to be sure i get the proper files/and or programs/ directions to use those resources properly the last thing i want is to guess at something that i could ask someone more experienced for help with and end up bricking it beyond repair. any and all help is very appreciated and i must ask you to please explain each step as clearly and "dumbed down" as possible as you can. if i need to use a program i've never used before {i.e. i hear things like odin mentioned in the forums but i don't understand or have any experience with any pc to phone applications so the more detailed any instructions can be made the better. anything that most ppl who have started tinkering with their devices usually know as common sense or steps that seem implied if not specifically mentioned i'll miss. i have been reading n lurking for months n managed to root the device. but had another issue i accidentally caused soon after which resulted in a factory wipe and some time to remember what i did that rooted it after spending a day on it the first time n trying many things it took me a while to refind what i had done that worked. then this happened. i'm sure with the proper files/tools it'll be fine but i need help to know what those are and to be sure i do it right the first time. i know if i don't there may not be a second chance. thank you again in advance for your patience and help.
